My wife and I had a wonderful first anniversary experience at Lopesan! First we have to give a huge shout out to the Assistant Manager and esteemed butler Fermín for taking great care of us. This was our first time in the DR at Lopesan and the experience was extremely nice, especially for the Unique package. We had a couple of issues with the bathroom setup and the panhandlers trying to sell us excursions, but outside of that; the resort, Unique experience, and food was on point. The bathroom does not have a door that closes so that you can have complete privacy when using the toilet. My wife and I worked around that by turning up the tv or sitting on the nice balcony.There is a door, but you are right next to the sink. There is no door to close off the bathroom from the rest of your room. It was a nice room but the setup is a little different than other resorts. The entire place is pretty new and there are several food options. Of all food options we enjoyed Italian, Hibachi, French, and the Unique Club the most. The steak restaurant was really nice too, but the Italian restaurant had the best food. We enjoyed having food grilled for us at the Unique club and we visited the ice cream place every day. The Price to Value ratio is outstanding! We had a Unique/Butler experience with a private beach, private pool and private bar. After being treated like that, you will think twice about having a normal experience at a different resort. We plan to go back with all of our family. The beach was beautiful and the resort is fairly new since it was built in 2019. The best bar is the lobby bar. Get all of your drinks from them. We enjoyed the Banana Mama! Last shout out goes to Fermín for booking all of our eating experiences and checking in to make sure everyday was a great day. He made it very easy to communicate via WhatsApp and took care of every little detail for us. This will probably be an annual vacation for us now. 🏖️🏖️🌴🌴😎😎

ISAURY DE LOS SANTOS was our butler for unique swim up room. Fantastic butler. The resort has been wonderful. The only negative point I have is the landscape polution (boats) in front of the beach. This is everyday. You cannot see the open ocean without seeing many boats. A personal choice is that I would not get the swim up room. They are not private. I would choose unique adults only. They have a pool and the best bar in the resort. That is my personal choice.

This vacation was to celebrate my 30th birthday so as you can imagine we did a lot of research and were very selective when it came to narrowing down a resort to spend this milestone. Lopesan Bavaro seemed like the perfect fit with beautiful scenery and a gorgeous beach and most importantly they had an adult only section. My boyfriend and I paid over $300 each extra to book the adult section pool view for 5 nights and that's where the disappointments started. When we arrived, the resort was gorgeous we were told to head to the adult section to check in and had to wait over half an hour for someone to just acknowledge us. The person checking us seemed as if he was in a rush or didn't want to work. No explanation of anything and when asking questions, we just got brushed off. The adults only part is literally a tiny section at the back of the resort secluded from everything with a view of construction in the background. Disappointed with the view we got especially after paying more we went to speak to management who told us he will take the recommendations for future guests, and he acknowledge that IT IS NOT AN ADULTS ONLY RESORT just a tiny section that adults only can enter with a tiny pool a tiny bar and no food in that section. There was nothing he offered to do for us, we offered to give up the adult section and move to anywhere else in the resort for a better review and still nothing. Worst part is the view we really wanted we could have saved over $600 when we booked if things weren't falsely advertised on all booking sites saying that this is an adult only resort. We have been to multiple resorts that have family only sides and adult sides like Ocean Eden Bay and Planet Hollywood Adult Scene. Asides from that being the first disappointment the second was the cleanliness of the rooms. They didn't properly clean the rooms and right in front of our room during the entire stay there was a leak in the ceiling that was fully opened and just a bucket under collecting water. The food was pretty good at most restaurants. Our favourite was the Mediterranean and teppanyaki. Keep in mind if you don't book your restaurants the moment you arrive you probably won't get into any. We arrived on Friday and tried to book the teppanyaki for my birthday on Monday, but it didn't have any openings. I went to ask to see if they could make an exception and give us a spot for my birthday, but they just asked like they didn't care and said no. I luckily checked the day before and 1 spot had opened. Most people at the resort had a terrible attitude. Not happy to help and just seems like you're bothering them if you ask anything. The activities such as the disco and arcade have weird hours or are closed certain days of the week which is terrible, we often found ourselves with nothing to do at times. And the layout of the resort is awful. The free 25-minute hydrotherapy they offered us was just a pool in the spa. A jetted section of the pool which was not hot. I went back online today before posting this review and noticed that now they have updated the adults only booking to include photos of the actual pool that you get access to and changed the name from adults only section to adults only club. It should be noted that this pool is nowhere on the full view of the resort it is actually located behind the resort. Overall, I was really disappointed with the resort for what we paid for and what we received. The resort has a lot of potential, but we will not be returning.

The atmosphere and design of the hotel is very nice, but that's all, everything else - food, service, cocktails, rooms are of very poor quality, for this price, you can find a much better alternative. The service staff cheats on people, the first day I went to the Casino to play poker,2 hotel staff came to the table to play, a person who deals cards, deals out bad cards so that you lose, the food is very poor, the buffet has little choice, the food is cold, the food in the restaurants is also poor, the beach is the worst in Punta Cana, the rooms smell of mold, the room was cleaned only once in 9 days, by the pool if you will not give tips, they will bring drinks only after an hour, the staff is also very unfriendly, One coconut is sold for $5, where in other hotels they are free, I do not recommend this hotel.

The entertainment was incredible. All the amenities were great. The service was great despite other reviews. Tip the staff and they will take care of you. Plain and simple. I can understand if you are not from a country where tipping is customary, but it is here. So bring cash. If you are wondering if the Unique upgrade is worth it..YES YES YES! Our butler's name was Isaury De Los Santos. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was stress free. He set up all our dinner reservations on day 1. This is the key benefit of unique. We talked to other non unique guest who pointed out being frustrated not getting a reservation every night. Isaury even sent us a bag of snacks to take on our saona island excursion! Only a few things would improve the resort. I would like to see Air Conditioning in the unique and beach buffet. Just for food safety reasons, though i didn't have any stomach issues. There are no hot tubs on the property unless you get a corner suite. They should get a few for the spa and add it to the hydro therapy package. I would have paid a few times for that. Bottom line, we loved our experience at Lopesan and I think you will too.

I'm not sure how there are so many positive reviews unless they are false or this location discriminates against its guest. Our recent stay at the Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort, Spa & Casino in the Dominican Republic was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that guest satisfaction was not a priority for this establishment. Room Accommodations: Bait and Switch We had meticulously planned our stay, booking the oceanfront suite well in advance. However, upon arrival, we were informed that our reserved room was unavailable. Despite multiple confirmations and persistent follow-ups by my team and assistants—who were frequently hung up on and dismissed—we were downgraded to an inferior room lacking the ocean view we had paid for. It wasn't until the following day that we were grudgingly moved to the room we had originally reserved. This pattern of overbooking and downgrading guests seems to be a deliberate tactic by the resort as others within our party experienced the same thing. Inadequate Butler Services Our group of 30 was assigned a butler named Wendy, who, despite the resort's shortcomings, went above and beyond to assist us. Unfortunately, many in our group never even met their assigned butlers, let alone received any services. Wendy's dedication was a rare bright spot in an otherwise dismal experience. Substandard Room Conditions The rooms were fraught with issues: uncomfortable beds, sinks with no hot water, and malfunctioning air conditioning units. These are basic amenities one expects from any hotel, let alone a so-called five-star resort. Appalling Restaurant Experiences Dining at the resort's restaurants was consistently unpleasant. Service was neglectful; staff rarely checked if we needed anything, often ignoring simple requests like refilling drinks or providing bread. At the hibachi restaurant, we were unceremoniously rushed out before finishing our meal due to staff delays in serving dessert. Additionally, despite prior reservations, our group was split up at the steak restaurant, with some members left out entirely. The staff showed a blatant unwillingness to rectify these issues, displaying a complete disregard for guest satisfaction. Mishandling of Transportation and Staff Mistreatment Wendy, our diligent butler, attempted to coordinate with security to allow our external transportation service to pick us up directly from the resort's entrance, sparing us a lengthy walk. Instead of appreciating his efforts to enhance our experience, the management unjustly accused him of unauthorized arrangements and terminated his employment, despite evidence proving his innocence. This unjust action against one of their best employees is both alarming and disheartening. Embarrassing Treatment of Guests A member of our group, a highly successful individual, was not informed about the 'Unica' experience upgrade. When she joined us for breakfast in the Unica facility, she was publicly embarrassed and asked to leave, despite the oversight being entirely the resort's fault. Such tactless treatment is inexcusable. Lack of Activities for Children and Teens The resort's offerings for children and teenagers were severely lacking. The kids' club and teen club were confined to rooms with minimal activities, failing to engage or entertain the younger members of our group. Neglectful Poolside Service While lounging by the pool, we were consistently ignored by the waitstaff, who attended to other guests but blatantly overlooked our group. This pattern of neglect was pervasive throughout our stay. Conclusion: A Resort to Avoid Our experience at Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort, Spa & Casino was the worst we have ever encountered. The consistent neglect, unprofessionalism, and outright disrespect have left us with no desire to return to the Dominican Republic. We strongly advise others to avoid this resort to prevent enduring a similarly dreadful experience.

We enjoyed our time at the unique Lopesan Bavaro. Our Butler Andreas was extremely friendly and helped us with every want and need. Can’t say enough about the service, attention to detail especially during breakfast at the unique club. The dinners were all delicious from the Mexican, French, Mediterranean, and Japanese. Again the service and attention to detail were second to none. We often use Sandals but now we will be switching to the Lopesan brand for our vacations. So hats off to an unforgettable vacation! One little caveat for beach lovers, party boats and the many excursion boats makes the water no fun to swim in. We found the Playa Blanca and Macao beach as great alternatives for a beach trip with white sand beaches or great breakers.

Disappointing Experience – Fails to Meet Luxury Standards We had high expectations for this hotel, but it fell far short of luxury standards. The food was a major disappointment: the general buffet offered only a few basic options, while the beach buffet—The Gold Fish—was disorganized, messy, and uninspired. Lunch choices were notably scarce, reflecting a lack of effort in providing a memorable dining experience. The drinks selection was equally underwhelming. The cocktail offerings were unimpressive, and the limited beer options, available at only one or two bars, did not meet the quality one expects from a luxury resort. The most frustrating aspect was the service. Staff members were often unhelpful and appeared untrained, struggling to answer even simple guest questions. Moreover, many were distracted by their cell phones—constantly talking among themselves—leaving guests unattended and ignored, especially at the bars where proactive service was sorely lacking. Overall, the combination of basic food, subpar drinks, and inattentive service left us deeply disappointed. This establishment did not deliver the luxury experience it promised.

This is my review of the Lopesan following our recent stay. Generally the hotel looks pleasing, is set out well, beautiful and was ideally located for our purpose. WiFi: the WiFi was good whilst in your room, lobby or restaurants. Sadly the WiFi was very poor around the pool area or beach. We tried different locations but not able to obtain a stable connection. Food: we tended to eat early for breakfast, lunch and dinner and mainly opted for the adults only buffet for breakfast and dinner where there is a food selection however the food was always cold. I believe the main issue of this is because the plates are cold to start with and therefore what heat there maybe in the food soon disappears before you get to your seat to eat. I’ve stayed in many 5 star all inclusive restaurants similar to the Lopesan and the food has always been hot so this was a disappointing element of the Lopesan. We did try the steakhouse one evening but didn’t enjoy it, sadly the steak was too large (took up the whole plate) and was very fatty and was disappointed not to have been offered a steak knife. Room: the room size was very good but there were a few issues: no tv remote, a couple of times our room was not cleaned and/or towels were not replaced and during our whole stay the floor was not cleaned once. Sofas and chairs i side and out were all heavily stained. The view from our room wasn’t great and we were woken every morning at 5am by the roosters in the neighbouring properties. Pool and beach area: the infinity pool and beach were lovely however the toilets around the pool area were not cleaned, quite often no toilet paper available and on more than one occasion people where being stuck in the toilet cubicles due to faulty locks which were reported to maintenance it not fixed. I was also disappointed by the lack of cleaning around these areas, rubbish left from the night before, tables not cleaned etc. and on one occasions somebody had left glasses on the beach, I mentioned this to the waitress clearing nearby but she just walked passed it. Towels: unfortunately beds are reserved from 7am in the morning, we witnessed some people not arriving until some 5 hours later. This is disappointing that the hotel management don’t manage this compared to other resorts. Entertainment: my opinion of this was poor, lack of daytime entertainment around the pool and the evening shows were on very late compared to other all inclusive resorts we have stayed at. We have seen the MJ show many times at other resorts and this was by far the worst with the back up dancers out of sync to the main performer. Service: staff do seem to be distant and not attentive for a 5 star resort and do appear rude at times. On many occasions staff were on their mobile phones and not bothered by the waiting customers. General observation: sanitizer available in lobby but not other areas. It’s amazing how many people do not wash their hands after using the toilets. Maybe this is why there are reports of illness. We took our own sanitizer and were very careful. Experiences: by far the best part of our holiday were the experiences booked by pool, the first being the dolphin experience and then the buggy experience booked with Tour Point. Overall my rating of our stay whilst at the Lopesan was 3/5. We are well travelled and have stayed at many 5 star all inclusive resorts, this was our first Lopesan experience and wouldn’t stay again.

We recently (last week) had our wedding here, and it was truly a dream come true! From the breathtaking venue to the impeccable service, everything exceeded our expectations. The staff went above and beyond to make our special day perfect, and the experience didn’t end there—our entire stay was nothing short of exceptional. A special shoutout to our butler, Jose, who made our time at the resort even more magical. His attention to detail and thoughtful surprises, such as champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, rose petals in our suite, and other personalized touches, made us feel so special. He ensured we had everything we needed and more, always going the extra mile to accommodate any request. If you’re considering this resort for your wedding or just a luxurious getaway, don’t hesitate—it’s truly an unforgettable experience. We will cherish these memories forever and can’t wait to return next year!

My boyfriend and I booked the adults-only section and got a room on the fourth floor, the room was beautiful but immediately when we walked in you could smell the mold. Upon inspection, we found a significant amount of mold on the lampshade and some under the door of the shower. Everything in the room was damp, I should have listened and bought damp rid like some had suggested as this and the smell of the mold made it difficult to sleep at night. The resort was stunning, especially at night! It is a big resort, we'd get at least 10k steps a day, which isn't bad considering how much food we ate. Lots to do as well, there are always multiple activities planned throughout the day in addition to the casino, escape room, etc. The food on the resort was a 7/10, I did enjoy most of it! We went to El Charro, El Asador, La Boheme and Gondola which were all amazing. Buffet was good as well. The staff and service were unreal 902342/10 - Domingo at the adults only pool would make sure we were taken care of throughout the day. At breakfast, dinner and lunch, there would always be someone refilling our water, taking away our dirty plates, or refilling our coffees. The cleaning staff were great as well, we were brought clean towels and water every day. Overall, was a great experience except for the room which is unfortunate as it would have been a perfect trip. Not sure how much longer this resort will last considering how bad the mold was!

This is our 2nd trip to this resort. In march 2024, we had booked unique club but, for us, it wasn't worth the premium paid. This time, we decided on adult only and we've much preferred it over the unique club. Be aware that the adult only hotel rooms area is for everyone including kids, it's only the pool that is adult only. Upon check-in, we were offered a free upgrade from garden view to pool view and thought it was nice to be offered some incentive for returning guests. We did appreciate the food at all restaurants and buffet, our best been the Inari, the Mareas and the El Charro. We had great times at the Caribe buffet, the staff is always welcoming and smiling. Something has changed at The Valley and while we did appreciate the food on our first trip, we did not this time, the food was not cook enough or cold. The drinks were excellent at the La Perla adult only pool bar compared to last year Unique bar or Infinite pool drinks that were mostly served with no alcohol if you didn’t ask for it. We had some’s issues during our stay. Except for the 2 occasions that we had a different maid, the room cleaning service was horrible, from missing towels to no balcony cleaning or no cleaning at all even if we left tip everyday. The minibar was left not refill on multiple occasion and again we also left tip in the mini fridge. On day 3, I went to the reception to ask for a refill since we only drink bottled water and we had none left. From day 4, we decided to stop leaving tip. Our room was also in a decline state, the patio door couldn't be close or lock completely, the was a gap that we could see the outside through. Hopefully, there was not a lot of insects at the 4th floor. There was paint chipping from the balcony wooden guard rails. The balcony of this section of the 4th floor only has a partial roof so when it rains the couch got all soak and it took forever to dry. A desk drawer was broken and couldn't be used. The shade on the floor lamp was covered with unknown stains. There was a large blood stain underneath the toilet seat and a large mold on the shower floor. The ceramic tile grout beside the toilet had a dark brown color that was disgusting. Someone before us left a round sticker on the shower wall that was still there on our last day. There was no carafe for the coffee machine and we had to ask to get one. I’ve taken pictures of most issues but don’t feel it necessary to publish them. Despite all these issues, we both appreciated our stay but it will probably be our last time at the Lopesan if they don’t drop the price considerably. This resort is still enjoyable but should not still be consider 5 stars. We thought that weren’t getting enough for our money.

We really enjoyed our trip here. Andre (butler) took care of our every needs and went far and beyond. Highly recommend staying in the Unique section. Unique bar had the best drinks and views. Restaurants were good, and service was outstanding. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Only complaint I would have is the Gondola Restaurant (Italian) have 3 beautiful fire burning ovens and they don't use them. Pizza looked like it was cooked in a microwave. What a shame. Other than that, I highly recommend.

Where do I start we just came home from a 10 day trip for my wife's 50th birthday and I can't say thank you enough to all the staff at this Beautiful hotel, from the unique beach restaurant for breakfast, the food, staff manager's everyone always had a smile and a good morning for you everyday, I want to thank Dario and his staff at the French restaurant the two times we were there for dinner they went above and beyond to make our experiences amazing thank you so much. To Domingo the bartender at the adult's only pool thank you for making our days so much fun and great drinks and to Dillson the bartender at the unique bar you young man are beyond friendly and helpful each and every day there, to the bartenders at the lobby bar you as well were always smiling and making sure everyone was taken care of thank you. Mexican restaurant great food great atmosphere a pleasure Italian restaurant was good I'm not a big Italian person so didn't get what I probably should have but still good Steak house great views decor very nice and service and food were on point French restaurant hands down wonderful both times Main buffet was OK not a big buffet guy though Beach beautiful clean seaweed always being cleaned up never a problem. To our butler Jose I can't say thank you enough for everything and I truly mean everything you were absolutely amazing and a credit to this hotel, we are already booking for next March and can't wait to get back and see some happy faces. This is a very beautiful resort. It is very clean and the staff are all exceptional. It is a very large resort and even though we booked and paid for adults only there are children everywhere. Only one adult only pool which was small with limited lounge chairs and shade. The buffet seating was adults only but at the buffet it was open to everyone. Only one restaurant that was adults only which was a steak hourse. We also booked and paid extra for a swim up suite however due to overbooking a family was booked into the room next door to us so there were children in our little quiet oasis. There is no ban on smoking. Smoking permitted anywhere outdoors which we found uncomfortable. Overall it was a very lovely resort but too large for two seniors with limited mobility.

Stayed for 4 days and had an amazing time! Everyone from the time you check in until the time we left was extremely helpful and went above and beyond! Jose Antonio was very attentive and met our every need. Would 100% go back time and time again!

Absolutely beautiful resort. Probably one of the top best we've visited. Everything is perfect. Entertainment is great, hospitality is superb, food is delicious and the beach is gorgeous. Wish we could have stayed longer. Can't wait to go back!!

We reserved the room 7 months prior with a rate in US dollars. When we checked in, Willie at the adults check in desk said the exchange rate between Pesos and the US dollar would be a difference of an additional 10%. If we didn’t pay that extra 10% we couldn’t stay there. We had no choice as we are from the US and didn’t have a flight home for 10 days. We asked several guests at the hotel if they had the same problem and not 1 person had to pay extra. It was a scam and we will take the proper steps to figure it out so it doesn’t happen to others.

I love the environment, very welcoming and relaxing. Came here for a week with hubby to celebrate a few things. Although adults only is advertised, kids were welcomed as well but I think the resort was well situated to accommodate couples and families. I thought it would be a nightmare with children being overly loud and disruptive but it was still a pleasant trip. The buffet area was open to everyone but the actual dining area was separate for couples vs families. I personally enjoyed the food, there was some variety with cultural dishes for lunch and dinner. Clean food set up and constantly replenished, the meats are cooked so well and the fried foods weren’t greasy. Everything was fresh and met my expectations. I didn’t see much seafood aside from some cocktail shrimp. There is a cafe called ‘Bavaro Coffee’ - nice!!! There are several pool areas throughout the resort, the beach is gorgeous, the resort is an amazing site at night because of the light set up, it’s a whole vibe trust me. People were getting married here, every single space throughout the resort whether indoors or outdoors is a picture worthy space. The hotel room is spacious, the staff is nice and does a great job with cleaning, the air conditioning is COLD so well had no problem. The activities were a little limited so if you are looking for great food and a beautiful place to relax this is it. I highly recommend this resort.

We book the Unique upgrade and had Isaury De los Santos from Butler service as our go to guy. We booked via a third party. The grounds are large and the landscaping is nice and maintained. We loved all the different water features. At night, the lighting makes it very romantic. There is a huge main pool along with several smaller pools and a couple water parks for the kids. It never seemed overcrowded and we didn't have any issues finding a spot. We stayed in a Unique room and all the perks that come with Unique were worth it. The Unique buffet, bar, and beach areas were awesome. I really enjoyed the custom fresh tropical smoothies you could make at the Unique buffet breakfast each morning. We had a wonderful concierge, Jose Antonio who helped us throughout our trip. He booked all of our dinner reservations which saved us a lot of time and answered any questions that we had. He checked in with us each morning, was punctual, and made sure our requests were taken care of. I read a few reviews mentioning a moldy/musty smell or the A/C was not cool enough in the room, but we did not experience this. If anything the room was too cold for us. The thermostat kept changing back to 72 F and raising the temperature didn't seem to make a difference. We ended up putting the fan speed on low and temporarily turning the A/C off. Some of the other areas like the shops, theater, and large indoor areas were very warm and needed better cooling. The food quality/taste was hit and miss. There were some standout items (lobster, pizza, smoothies), but there were a lot of ok or below average items. The restaurant menu item descriptions should be more detailed to include all of the ingredients so that personal preferences/adjustments can be made. The room service options are very minimal. All of the bars have the same drink menu and were pretty consistent. There are some "secret menu" cocktails like Blue Hawaiian, Dominican Flag, and Sex on the Beach that I wish were included in the published Cocktail Menu. All the staff we encountered were very nice, helpful, and try to remember your name/nickname. Shout out to the photographer and entertainment team :) The Lopesan phone application is functional, but needs quite a bit of work to make it a one stop shop for calendar, reservations, events, etc. There really needs to be a calendar which shows your stay, dinner reservations, other reservations, events, etc so that you can plan out the day with selected items. There were times where the phone application wouldn't show any upcoming events. When you select something to see more details (restaurant, bar, venue, event, etc), there should be in depth information such as style of food, activities available inside(darts, pool, ping pong), a description of the event, etc. Some events needed additional information/explanation and we found a few fun things to do on complete accident.

Our butler, Jose Antonio, made sure that we got the most out of our stay by booking us dinner reservations every night, and making sure that we got to take advantage of everything this great resort has to offer! The beach at this resort is incredible, and if you’re not a big beach person, there are also some great pools to enjoy. We had a great time here and will definitely be back again. 10 out of 10!

The Lopesan is a hidden gem of Punta Cana. The resort is peaceful, serene and there is something to do for everyone. We loved the Boheme and Charro restaurants, French and Mexican. The entire resort is very clean and beautiful. The Unique experience is worth the price. The Unique buffet was amazing and we loved the private unique pool. We also had the best butler, Jose Antonio. He set up all of our reservations for dinner on the first day we were there, he arranged for our laundry to be done, and helped to arrange for our baggage to be brought from our room to the lobby at checkout. He checked in on us multiple times a day to make sure our stay was perfect. Soranyi at the Timon Bar by the unique pool was amazing. She brought us drinks right to our pool chairs and was so friendly! We loved our stay at the Lopesan and would definitely come back.

Lopesan An honest review of Lopesan while it’s fresh in my mind as we returned home last night. Sorry if it’s long and wanted to mention everything we had researched and saw online prior to our arrival. I wanted to preface this to mention this was my personal 7th trip to the DR. Resorts I have personally stayed at over the span of years so I can accurately have comparison to fall back on: Barcelo Bavaro Beach x2 Majestic Elegance Majestic Colonial Iberostar Grand Bavaro Beach Breathless Lopesan (this trip) We booked as a couple a Unique ocean view w/king bed and were in room 4361. To be honest while you could see the ocean the view was pretty much the walking path. Disappointed at first but it just took 1 night to sleep on it as they did offer to move us to 4389 which had an amazing view of ocean and pool but it was 2 queens and the closet was one side only. I think we just realized we were okay with our location and glad we stayed!! We felt the proximity was good to the restaurants, lobby, back walk path to the Boulevard and easy to the Unique bar, Oceanside restaurant and beach. Air conditioning, it most definitely worked!! Very cold and had to turn off the fan a few times. Dampness, holy cow the worst of any place I’ve been to in the DR, Jamaica, Playa Del Carmen & Riviera Maya MX. I’m not sure why this was any different than other resorts throughout but all the clothes that were dry, ironed and hung were wet. We brought a damp rid but even 5 of them wouldn’t have made a difference. Every thing that was packed regardless of wearing or not has already been washed at home here when we got back last night. Still working on it as we speak. The grounds are so beautiful!! The beach itself and the Unique section on the beach was set up perfect with the huts having enough separation, an abundance of towels morning to late day. Zero complaints. Most definitely waitresses coming often for drink orders or picking up empty glasses often all day!! Beach- beautiful but the seaweed is a bit out of control. There is not a deep area to get in the ocean as the boats most definitely take up the length of the resort but we enjoyed seeing them come & go and the music. We walked the beach in both directions as I knew the water closer to the Barcelo Bavaro was better to get in. We did stop at the area right past where boat excursion people loaded (the rope) and saw the sea turtles 🐢 come up! So cool. Drinks were strong!! The back walking path to the boulevard was awesome and made for the walks to Bavaro Coffee and the shops etc easy. Night time entertainment outside the lobby bar in the evening while brief was nice and I’m sorry but there is most definitely a lot of DJ and resort guest activities up towards the beach and we think the Atlantico restaurant area outside. The strobe lights, DJ, music and cheering was heard easily from our balcony in the unique section and we enjoyed it! This was well after dinner later in the night for sure. The white party was nice, everyone including kids of other guests looked like they were having fun!! They brought in 3 people who did the fire show and acrobats with the torches and that was impressive. It was a bit windy so the lighter fluid or whatever they used sprayed on us and guests but no fault of anyone. The white party went on for hours. The infinity pool, we would go daily (stayed at beach though) and it is so big and nice. We visited the adults only pool for a few hours one day as the wind on the beach I believe last Wednesday was unbearable. The guard checking bracelets for adult pool, bueno. The unique pool we didn’t realize was at the front of the resort near the adults pool was pretty but too many kids- pls no offense. Have grown children myself so know how important it is but it wasn’t our thing this trip. Theatre: beautiful!! The Michael Jackson show was a let down. Lip synced without a doubt and didn’t even perform Thriller!! Choreographed well but have been to plenty of other resort shows and never experienced lip syncing. This is where most may disagree with us but the food, all meals averaged 3/10. It’s just our honest opinion and trust me I have a lot to compare to. I will explain more on this in a bit. I will think of other things to add more in depth. Just wanted to start this thread as it’s fresh with just returning last night. We most definitely made the best of our week long stay and the beach set up and having the unique bar and restaurant was close by and laid out nicely. Adding more: The Casino is fairly big for a resort but not like Barcelo casino which is decent. Didn’t take a cab to HR but if the gaming aspect was important would have. Majestic resort had a Teeny Tiny casino and Breathless wasn’t much better but did play at all resorts including Lopesan. Only did slots as $20 minimum on blackjack is steep for a resort casino. That’s expected at the Cosmopolitan in LV and even Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL but not a casino resort. The disco while we didn’t go in, was designed beautifully!! The included Lobster (yes I know Caribbean is different from the states) was overcooked the few times we had it. The steakhouse adults only was the biggest letdown. The supposed ribeyes were strange looking and both of us ordered medium cooked and his had nice pink coloring but lumps of fat and mine maybe a 1/2” thick and well done. We walked out and had pizza instead at the buffet. Mediterranean restaurant was decent and the saving grace. The hyped up Mexican was just that, hyped. They forgot his drink altogether although they brought mine but made wrong twice and totally forgot the beef tacos until dessert time long after we finished eating. I had the flauta’s (spelling) which was good but nothing exceptional. Made to order smoothies with fresh fruit at the unique restaurant in the morning was good and also a saving grace for morning. I don’t think they believe in cooking the bacon all the way (I mean seriously some not even barely cooked) so just putting it on a plate and asking a chef saying crispy was all it needed. Our housekeeper did a phenomenal job and we always saw her daily at some point to tip. The app also is good to use for housekeeping if one chooses. The included toiletries, most definitely not a fan of the scent. Very manly smelling and wouldn’t even want to smell that on any guy lol. We could tell when someone used it walking by, ha. Kinda suspected that so packed our own body wash, soap, shampoo & conditioner etc. This too is a first from any resort and hotel in general where the scent was not appealing. Usually have toiletries to bring home and remember as a keepsake and use throughout time. We did enjoy the stay overall for sure but wouldn’t return. He and I still talk about the resort we went to 2 years ago etc etc. still counting my blessings.

This was our first stay at an all-inclusive resort. We went to attend a wedding with some friends. We opted for the Unique level experience. The extra amenities included with the Unique level was well worth the added cost. The room was quite spacious with a phenomenal view of the well-kept grounds and the ocean. There is a special Unique beach area, a private pool, a nice beach front bar and Unique has its own buffet area with a barbeque that serves fresh omelets for breakfast. The beach is wonderful! Very clean with ample loungers and permanent sun umbrellas. We had a fantastic time at the wedding; it was well coordinated and one of the most fun we have ever attended. They have a nice little casino in the boulevard area and a sports bar. All the drinks at both were part of the all-inclusive experience. Our butler, Jose Antonio, couldn't have been kinder. We had several small issues with the room - our refrigerator was not working and the outlet in the bathroom area was dead. Jose got both fixed the same day we reported these issues to him. He was helpful throughout our stay. They provide guests with a fruit plate and some chocolate in your room the first day. This was a nice gesture, however we ate neither because there were so many options for food around the resort. The chocolate was uncovered; this attracted some small bugs after a while. I wish it was cleared away after a day or two. The ribeye steak at the steak house was tough, barely eatable. My wife had the fillet, and she thought it was good. We did reserved dining in 4 of the restaurants on site and generally the food was ok, but not anything special. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely return.

He was always available, helpful, and genuinely kind—a huge part of why everything felt effortless. The food and drinks were consistently great, the rooms were beautiful and modern, and the service across the board was top-notch. Our guests were comfortable, happy, and well taken care of, which meant the world to us during such an important week. If you're planning a destination wedding or just want a resort that delivers across the board, Lopesan is an excellent choice. PS: Be prepared to walk a lot. The resort is huge but worth it.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 10 nights and unfortunately didn’t live up to our expectations! Firstly the hotel grounds are amazing and so is the hotel itself, the rooms are also very spacious and comfortable however do have a damp/musty smell. We found around the main hotel areas to be very clean and tidy however closer to the rooms/ corridors to be fairly dirty. Toilets within the main buffet and around the pool were disgusting, didn’t seem like they were cleaned throughout our stay. We found most of the staff to be very friendly and polite, I don’t feel as if any went above and beyond to enhance our stay. However at all of the restaurants they made sure to keep drinks topped up and tables clean and were always smiley. One bad point in regards to staff, at the pool bar early on into our stay I witnessed two of the waitresses taking shots of tequila thinking nobody had seen them during their shift! I was very shocked to have seen this and feel let down. We had problems with electricity within our room, lights wouldn’t switch on/off and same with A/C controls! Meaning trying to sleep one night with main lights in the room switched on, the reception were notified but didn’t seem bothered about rectifying the issue. Around an hour later it was fixed, until the next morning! Where we had to get ready and shower in the dark, this issue wasn’t fixed until the evening. This happened 3/10 days of our stay without any explanation or offering to move rooms! We found the food options to be okay, the buffet was tasty but got boring after a couple of days as food was similar everyday. Our favourite restaurant was the Asian, very tasty food, great atmosphere with the live chefs and good choice on the menu. Overall the hotel itself is beautiful, the staff are all very friendly the rooms are nice apart from the smell. Also the hotel services such as the gym were excellent, better equipment than the gyms back home. We were that disappointed with our stay we contacted our travel provider and have received a money off voucher. We’ve stayed at many nice hotels but wouldn’t be returning to Lopesan.

The balcony was so spacious and so amazing to enjoy the view. The service staff is absolutely amazing. Everyone you pass had a smile on their face and said hello. We had Victor as our butler he was so attentive and helpful. Anytime we needed anything it was done in under 30 minutes. He always had a smile on his face. He had the best customer service I’ve ever seen anywhere. We came to The Lopesan on our honeymoon. I highly recommend coming to stay here. The most gorgeous resort I’ve ever been to. The beach is absolutely stunning. The water is so clear and the sand is so soft. The beach is so clean. I highly recommend The Lopesan. We will be back!!

Wonderful week at the Lopesan! We reserved the Unique section. Our buttler, Oliver de la Cruz, was very efficient in booking all the A la carte restaurants and contacted us to know if we needed anything during the week. All staff offered an excellent service! Food was amazing!
