We just came home following a 3 week stay here. I can't say enough good things about this resort. We stayed in a Platinum suite and were spoiled. From the room to the amenities we simply had a wonderful time. The staff are amazing and went out of their way to spoil us. Thank you to Senor Ramirez who joked with us while at the same time ensuring his staff were exceeding their goals to take good care of their guests.

Just returned from the Grand Bavaro Princess after a weeks stay. We upgraded to the Platinum section after reading previous reviews and will definitely do this again on our next trip. Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean. What an amazing resort! Kudos to all the staff as they are all so friendly, work extremely hard day and night, always with a smile. There are so many staff to mention however we really enjoyed Oscar the beach bartender server-“whoa, everything’s great”. The food was amazing, always finding something good and healthy to eat, cannot complain. We enjoyed the Choppin buffet for most breakfasts and lunches and there was always a variety of everything to choose from and booked the ala cartes for dinners. We tried the El Pescador (salmon was delicious), La Hacienda (fish tacos were good), Focaccia (pizza was delicious), Soho (sea bass and baby back ribs were delicious, our favourite dinner), Wasabi restaurant (another favourite). The Bavaro beach is one of the best so really enjoyed everyday at the beach. Sun, surf and sand how could you not be happy here 😎 The resort is very large with trolleys to take you to and from the main lobby/ some restaurants if you stay in the Platinum section. The grounds are so beautiful and everything is so clean. If I have to say anything negative it would be the hamburgers from the food truck are not good and the ala carte meals could be hotter. I really don’t even want to mention this as it is so irrelevant. We would definitely recommend this resort and hope to visit again however will not be flying via Sunwing as we lost an entire day. Hope to be back next year! Thanks for a fantastic vacation!

I would never ever recommend this resort to anyone. They have terrible customer service ever. Do not try to call to the:information; customer care; reception, do not. They will hang up on you. Housekeeping is absolutely awful. We could not get fresh towels and bathrobe 3 days. The room never clean, cups are not washed, sinks and toilet never cleaned. TERRIBLE WIFI. No entertainment. Despite all that, we met some nice people: in the restaurant Christobalina and Jose Gavilan, so friendly and nice. Social thanks to Gustavo from customer care, he was a great help in our issue. Be very careful with food, not always fresh. Our friends and us got food poisoning and couldn’t get a bowl of chicken soup for 5 hours. It is a beautiful location and rooms, nice landscapes, but terrible management.

Mixed reviews. The beach is beautiful. Food was not good. Very loud at night so wasn’t able to get decent rest. Rooms were clean. People friendly for the most part. They have levels that they don’t tell you about where if you pay more you get to go into more restaurants and bars with some better selections and have beach chairs with cushions. The upgrade was worth it for 2 of us but for a family not sure it would be! No transportation to and from the airport. Did feel safe while at the resort.

My husband and I went to Bavaro Princess a week ago and had a fabulous time. Let me start by saying the beach is absolutely stunning. The beach was beautiful every day and it was clear blue waters. Didn't spend any time at the pool and that was fine with us We loved the beach at the Bavaro. Our room was perfectly situated so close to the beach and it was short walk to the beach. Our room was very well kept and it was clean by 10 am every day. We had everything we needed and we found the room beautiful. Now onto the food It was absolutely delicious From the buffet to most of the restaurants. It was fresh and very tasty. We didn't eat salads however the omelettes were delicious and the fruit was yummy . The food trucks were awesome too and short walk to the beach as well. The wings and fries and tacos were amazing. The weather was absolutely beautiful every day. By the way if your room is closer to the lobby it's a 7 minute walk to the beach Everything is close and not too far and walking distance too. This resort was a 5 star plus and I thank you Punta Cana for this beautiful trip and amazing resort. Love you Grand Bavaro Princess xoxo

Nice but stay away from the guys in the pink shirts ( timeshare or call it what you want)..
Amazing friendly staff … but a lot of people have had enough of the time sharing guys in the pink shirts… if they approach you say no thanks for my welcome gift … people come to relax and not waste 90 minutes of time with aggressive sales pitch’s…😫
Excellent resort (with minor complaints)

First time to this resort, 6th time to Punta Cana, 7th to DR. Other time was Santo Domingo many years ago. This felt like a 5 star resort because we went Platinum level. Beautiful room/suite (building 54) with a large deck, 2 TVs, excellent location, great food and drinks, plenty activities! Platinum level guests get a separate part of the beach with nicer bed-like loungers, bartender service at your lounger, plenty of palapas for shade and their own pool, towel service and restaurant and bar area. Key takeaway is that we would go back and do platinum level. Here are areas for improvement: - most annoying are the hotel vehicles using the sidewalks for their scooters, golf cart train, delivery trucks and bicycles. They were so numerous for this large resort that we felt that we had to walk on the grass more often than paved walkways. They really need to keep certain paths for pedestrians only. - wifi is spotty on the beach, very annoying - do not allow guests on the beach to blast their own music on bluetooth speakers; the resort is playing music already, your tastes are not universal. - lifeguard not seen on the beach area nor a ocean condition flag. The waves and under-tow can be very strong - there are beautiful peacocks on site, however, they are very loud and start at 6am. Bring ear plugs. - - Room: -they had a rainfall shower head only, which is not the best for washing soap out of long hair. - They did have a separate 2 person bubble-up tub with a hand held shower head for that problem. - the A/C system was difficult to control. It worked on motion detection, so it could get hot at night. Also the fan blew directly on the bed and that could not be adjusted. - the bar fridge is located inside a cabinet. It was hot in there and we felt the fridge did not keep the contents cold consistently. We had medicine to keep stable so a concern. We left a cabinet door open and felt that helped. - the platinum concierge area was different from other hotels. This hotel chain also owns the Dreams hotels. We last stayed at the Dreams Punta Cana (renamed Dreams Flora now?). They had a "club" area for platinum guests, with a large screen TV in a comfortable couch area, premium bar, board games, books, well-stocked small buffet and staff there for questions abd help. Bavaro Princess has room in their concierge area to do this too, and they should! All staff were pleasant, helpful and mostly quick service. We did not use the family area with splash park but it looked very nice. Are last bad thing to talk about was the departure day and need for check out from the room. Our flight was at 11pm and we had to check out by noon. If you want to stay in your room there is a fee, something like $60US for 3 hours then it jumped to something like $30US/per hour after. We knew we would be at the beach all day so didn't need the room, but did need a shower and to change into airport clothes. They said to use the spa. Well that was hard to find, the train did not go there either and we are dragging small luggage. The spa was like a gym shower, no privacy, steaming hot and little area to move around. There were toiletries in the shower stall. I could not dry off in the heat and almost passed out. I fled mostly dressed, with my shoes in my hand. No A/C or fans there, it was a very bad situation. We told the staff and they smiled and nodded. This was not a luxury experience that we had paid for at the platinum level. Other hotels give you a courtesy room. They need to correct this! We would pay $30US to use a room for an hour rather than the spa but shouldn't have to with platinum. Again we would return to this resort but be prepared for the negatives.

This hotel has the most stunning grounds, there are the most cutest and very weird animals everywhere, from huge iguanas to peacocks, with an insane variety of ducks. Grand Bavaro usually has flamingos here too but not when we visited (we were told by a hotel worker they had flown away to Florida for Christmas lol, not too sure if this is true) The hotel has a very big variety of al la carte restaurants, our favourite was the Indian Samsara and Wasabi, the buffet restaurants also had good options. By the beach the you will find food trucks offering burgers, hot dogs etc. Bavaro beach is also stunning, we stayed in the platinum club so had access to the private platinum beach, a lot quieter which we appreciated. The beach vendors are good, I had a massage from Isobel everyday, she gave us both a good deal. And she literally did give the best massages. I needed to get b12 injections, I got very low and required one urgently, the hotel doctor was thorough, he would not give me one unless I provided medical documentation showing I’m deficient, obtaining records was a bit difficult and I was desperate offering the doctor additional money, but he was thorough which I did appreciate. I’m glad the hotel had an on sight doctor. Most of the staff are amazing at Grand Bavaro, La Chama in the main bar looked after us every night, her service was excellent. Angela in Chopin was also amazing, she gifted me the cutest bouquet on my last day. Andre at platinum must have had enough of us complaining about the room service but he always did his upmost at sorting it out. Room service was a complete joke, I really don’t think it’s worth paying extra for platinum. The rooms are exactly the same as all other rooms, you can purchase day passes to use the al la carte restaurants available for platinum guests. I would like to add there was a lot of mosquitoes here, I don’t normally get bitten but I did here, not too sure if it’s because there are so many swamps on hotel grounds. The bathroom has tiny flies everywhere I believe these were coming out of the sinkholes. The entertainment was terrible, no organisation at all. I also didn’t appreciate some modelling show happening for 4 nights straight. Rebels bar literally had the worst service compared to the main bar. So my review is very mixed. I would definitely visit again but just for couple of nights and that’s probably because of the staff and cute animals.

Adalgisa, Willy, Robert, Leonardo and Misael were great and made us feel like family. We look forward to seeing them everyday becasue they are so nice and always smiling. The food was also great, it was so delicious and choose this buffet everyday over other restaurants.
