This place is great! Even though they have a buffet, the food is AMAZING!!! The staff here are amazing! It’s clean, it’s comfortable!!! there are different restaurants, they all have great food as well. The spa and the spa staff are amazing as well.

I am writing this on our last full day of a 7 night stay in early March. This is a really nice resort and I’ve stayed in a lot of Mexican all inclusives in my time. However, it is a large resort and felt a lot more impersonal than any other resort I have stayed in from a service perspective. The Vela buffet (especially later in the week and on weekends) was fabulous & frankly better than any of the restaurants. As with all Mexican resorts I’ve been lucky enough to stay in, the staff work really hard to give you a great vacation. If you upgrade to Enclave (more about that later), Antonio at the Chala Sky Bar, which is reserved exclusively for Enclave guests until 7pm each day, is a fabulous mixologist Just tell him what kind of flavour profile & spirits you like & he will whip you up something amazing. On the topic of the rooftop Chala bar, there are several cabanas available (at no extra charge) to Enclave customers but you need to get up there early to snag one. We could not get a seat at the beach any day at all so obviously you also need to get to those early too. The restaurants are about what you would expect from a good all inclusive and we were lucky enough to try them all. Nothing amazing but a great variation from the buffet. I ordered the prawn main at La Luce (Italian themed) and while it was tasty, it literally only had about 2 prawns with any meat, the rest were just empty shells in sauce which is a pretty sad way for the Hilton chain to try to make better margins. If you go to the steakhouse, the outdoor patio area is a really nice setting for dinner. So here’s some more info for you if considering upgrading to Enclave. The rooms are nicely appointed and right on the beach front plus as I mentioned earlier you get access to the rooftop Chala bar all day and there is a private Enclave lounge with top shelf liquor, coffee and snacks available all day through to about 10pm too. However, don’t expect that personal touch or to be made to feel “special” like their welcoming email implies IF the resort is busy. We did not arrive at the resort until 7pm on a Monday night so were told that the private Enclave check in area was not “connecting” and had to wait for regular check in. Honestly, that’s no big deal, could not care less but don’t lie about why. It had nothing to do with IT issues and everything to do with staffing. There are only 5 concierges for what must be hundreds of Enclave guests and they can’t work 24 hours a day so consequently good luck getting any of their time. We were not shown around the resort as promised and the only contact we got from our assigned concierge was a quick phone call to our room (when we finally found it on our own) where he booked our restaurants for the first three nights ( I found the online app really easy to use to book our own dinner reservations thereafter though). We did not even meet him or catch his name properly and heard nothing else the rest of our stay even after emailing the head concierge to find out so we could book a beach cabana package. No reply so we did not go ahead with it and the Hilton lost that extra spend from us as a result. We did not feel any kind of specialness whatsoever but the room views and the Chala sky bar access with its 4 small pools and peaceful atmosphere do make it worth it if you can afford it. If you are there to party at the main pools though, I’d say don’t bother with the upgrade. It is a large family focused resort so even after the Spring breakers started to arrive later in the week, it didn’t feel over crowded and was relatively clean most of the time. We would consider returning at more of an off peak time.

The food, even at the buffet, was very good. RITA at the pool bar was terrific.

The hotel was nice and the pools and beach were awesome. Bars were all good - and the lobby bar was our favorite. (Thank you Giancarlo!) The omelets and eggs prepared by the chef at the all inclusive buffet (Vela) were our favorite each morning! She did an excellent job...

The omelets and eggs prepared by the chef at the all inclusive buffet (Vela) were our favorite each morning! She did an excellent job with very many orders, while also making pancakes and waffles. The food was the only reason I gave this hotel 4 stars. The outdoor pool bar pizzas and french fries were good. We also loved the coffee, crepes and paninis and ice cream at Azulinda Cafe! The crepes were incredible as were the paninis. I had chicken pad thai at Noriku which had no flavor at all and was like eating a bowl of straw. The spring rolls that I had as an appetizer were good. The food at Maxal was the worst. The guacamole appetizer was excellent as were the cheese empanadas. I had the chicken enchiladas with some kind of dark black sauce and nuts and I took one bit and that was it. La Luce was the best in my opinion. The marguerita pizza was excellent as was the mushroom papparadelle. The mushroom papparadelle was actually my favorite dish of the entire trip. The beef medallions were not that great. My husband enjoyed his Chilean sea bass. We ordered "fake" creme brulee for dessert and it tasted like a piece of rubber and was the size of a thimble. We laughed when they brought it out saying "What is this?" My husband and I got a couples massage and I got a facial at the spa. Alejandro sold us a wonderful package and was very friendly and not too pushy. Karina was lovely at check-in and Amores and Izbeth did a great job with our massages! Amores also gave me my facial which was heavenly. So go for the fun, beach, pools, spa and drinks - not for the food. But that is okay, who wants to gain weight on vacation!

This is a good all inclusive resort, for sure. Not one negative experience over 11 days. Hotel staff were each friendly and helpful, food was consistently good. There is lots of pool space so seating was not a problem. Pool entertainment staff were energetic and fun; thanks Tony, Leon, Charly...

There is lots of pool space so seating was not a problem. Pool entertainment staff were energetic and fun; thanks Tony, Leon, Charly and Sergio (to name a few). We saw some complaints about pool entertainment being “too loud”, it isn’t. It just is what it is. Bar staff were great too. The beach ocean area also has seating buts it’s popular so spaces go quick. Good area for beach walks and the water is nice.

Some of the reviews made me nervous but I’m happy we went! My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and enjoyed our week long stay! Constructive feedback: 1)checkin was hectic! Not that the staff weren’t working hard but I think with the size of the property and the turnover, they should have more staff walking around to help guests transition until their rooms are ready or send out an email the day before checkin of what to expect, where to eat etc. 2) The dinner reservation app is a disaster, not reliable by any means. To ensure your reservation is made, you have to book with concierge (Guadalupe- she was fantastic by the way and I’m sure she deals with many upset guests due to operational insufficiencies). We had confirmed reservations at the hibachi restaurant on our anniversary and had to wait 20-30 mins to be accommodated as our reservation did not show up. 3) I paid for an upgrade for the cabana rental $248/week. Once I arrived, I was told it would be $248/day. Thankfully I took a screenshot because the employees claimed they didn’t have a clue as the Hilton app doesn’t properly communicate with their system. Richie and JC honored our booking and provided excellent service throughout the week! 4) enclave members seemed to do whatever they want, including having children in the adult only pools. After exhaustion from traveling these are the last issues you want to deal with. The first 1-2 days, I was having regrets booking here but after the initial mishaps, things turned around. Operational issues definitely need some fine tuning but again, the staff were working extremely hard. Positives: 1) JC, JC, JC…give this man a raise immediately. He’s very attentive to the pool/cabana guests. It’s evident that he takes great pride in his work and has incredible attention to detail. Richie is his manager and JC credits him for properly training. The rest of the cabana team: Auturo, Rita, Joanna, were personable and provided excellent service! 2) the pool entertainment crew: Cristian, Leon (Lion), Rain, Charlie, and rest of crew did an excellent job keeping guests engaged and entertained! The pool area was the highlight of our trip! 3) plenty of restaurants/food options that caters to all dietary needs. I noticed one review mentioned an allergy mishap and they have rectified that situation…each restaurant consistently asks before you’re seated about any allergies. 4) the beds were comfortable, I requested extra pillows as the original weren’t fluffy enough and they brought them up immediately. 5) we stayed in the honeymoon suite room 1131, breathtaking views. The hammock had massive holes in it but after 2 requests, it was replaced. 6) the night before checkout, I went down to request my billing folio, and thankfully I did. I was double charged for the cabana but after 15 mins of seeing if they would rectify the situation, I told them I have a recorded conversation of what I was to be charged and what was included in said fee. After stating I had a recording, they immediately took the charges off. All in all: For a fun time, I’d stay here again. The issues that arose were resolved. There are things management can improve from operating standpoint. People are spending a lot of money to go on vacation and don’t want to waste time disputing things. For a romantic time, I’d probably seek another resort first.

We haven’t been to an all-inclusive resort for almost 40 years. This was an amazing upgrade! The choice of restaurants, the activities and the beautiful location were our favorites. We likened it to a cruise ship on land. The service was impeccable. We merely had to ask for something and we had it. All of the workers should be commended. They are friendly, efficient, and caring. Our only complaint was that the glass by the adult pools was not cleaned frequently, so it was difficult to sit in the pool and look at the beautiful waters of the gulf. Also, those pools were to be used by adults, and frequently there were children in the pools. Now the food. We were pleasantly surprised with the buffet that is open most of the day. It is clean, and well maintained. We were fortunate to meet the manager and chef at the Mexal restaurant who treated us like we were royalty. The food was fantastic! We also ate at the Italian restaurant and the Asian restaurant and were blown away with the quality and presentation of the dishes. We can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I enjoyed our time at the resort. Coral from the concierge desk was absolutely amazing in decorating our room for my husbands birthday and upgrading us to a suite . The steakhouse has the best dinner, make reservations ahead of time.
