Waldorf Astoria Cancun

All of the staff members were extremely kind to my whole family and make the experience unforgettable. Some staff members that stood out to my family was Samuel at the restaurant malpeque, Samuel always had a smile on his face and his service was out of the world. Another member who was very helpful was Adrian at Chaya, throughout all the meals Adrian was quick with his service and from the moment we were seated he changed my families experience. Lastly one more member who stood out on our trip was Javier by the pool. Javier was extremely kind to my family and always made sure we were satisfied. Overall the trip was amazing but these individuals were what made the experience.

Hotel is spectacular, beautiful and most of all service is impeccable at every part of the hotel. If you are looking for a spot in the riviera maya and looking for a luxurious and classic hotel with most attentive staff this is a property not to be missed. From the moment we arrived, one of the concierge/guest service representative Elena explained everything and whisked us up to the room. Elena walked us through the hotel facility highlighting restaurant options, spa, store, etc. It was unexpected to get such direct and intimate welcome from the front-desk/concierge staff, spending all this time with you one-on-one. Hotel room was luxurious, beautifully designed and met every need. Daily cleaning replenishes everything and makes the room incredibly welcoming back as if you just walked in for the very first time. Nightly turn-down service not missed and beautiful notes from Kayme. We were upgraded to a suite on the top floor which was amazing. Food was excellent everywhere; breakfast options are extensive. We had breakfast and lunches at Chaya and dinners at JA’Os. Servers were excellent and extremely attentive, nothing was missed and food fresh and beautifully presented. I used the spa to get hair done in last minute, day before called to make arrangement as I was attending a wedding in Cancun. No problem. In addition, in last minute the hotel addressed a dress that needed professional steaming. Usually the hotel requires 4 hrs notice but we arrived in late afternoon and within less than 2 hrs the dress was brought up back to my room. Location - The hotel is in a location which was ideal for us. Outside the cancun hotel zone, but not too far, only ~ 20 minutes drive from airport or down-town cancun. You are also 15-20 minutes drive from Puerto Morelos, lovely Mexican town and only 45 minutes drive from Playa Del-Carmen, a larger town. We went to both towns for lunch and enjoyed, highly recommend. Not to forget the car valet/bell men service. From the moment we arrived and throughout our stay provided excellent service. Our rental car was always immediately made available with cold water bottles and helpful providing direction reassuring where we were heading. Night before our departure, proactively asked when to get our luggage, and right on punctual the following day knock on door to pick up the luggage. And before we drive away, having us look over all the luggage/bags to be sure nothing missed. I really appreciate those extra touches, because we have forgotten luggage before and this sets them apart. We only stayed for 4 nights as we came to Cancun for a wedding, which made it necessary for us to stay in Cancun at another hotel the 1st 3 days. I would of wished we had more time at the Waldorf, as it was just so peaceful and beautiful and at a different category of hotel. I recommend a full week’s stay to truly enjoy. In summary, this is one of those places where the staff goes above and beyond, all of them, and exceeded all our expectations and more. We recognize the hard work involved and are thankful. I absolutely loved staying at Waldorf Astoria RM: it felt like heaven. There isn’t enough words to describe how beautiful and pristine the property is. More importantly everyone from the staff was welcoming and beyond thoughtful. I was especially thankful for Ale, Cinthia and Esperanza who are in charge of healthy corner where they hold activities for kids and adults. It was a perfect place to connect with other guest and for kids to make friends. That was a place my family felt the most home away from home :)

The hotel is truly luxurious, elegant and beautifully designed, but what made our stay especially memorable was the incredibly kind and attentive staff. Our family had an incredible stay at the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The property is absolutely beautiful—immaculately clean, peaceful, and surrounded by a relaxing atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. The food throughout the resort was outstanding, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and excellent service everywhere we went. A special thank you to our poolside server, Diego Ruiz, who truly made our vacation memorable. His attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality were second to none. My 15-year-old son wanted fried fish, even though it wasn’t on the menu. Diego didn’t simply say no—he went above and beyond by speaking with the chef, who took one of the fresh fish offered on the regular menu and specially prepared it fried just for him. They brought it directly to us poolside, and it ended up being the best meal of our entire trip. That level of customer service is something you rarely experience. We also treated ourselves to the couples’ Stress Relief Massage at the spa, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The therapists were exceptional, the facilities were beautiful, and the entire experience left us feeling completely refreshed and rejuvenated. One of the best parts of our stay was seeing how much our 15-year-old son enjoyed himself. It’s not always easy to impress a teenager, but he had an amazing time and said he would absolutely love to come back. The Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya delivers true luxury while making you feel genuinely welcomed. Exceptional staff, outstanding food, beautiful accommodations, a world-class spa, and unforgettable service from people like Diego Ruiz are what set this resort apart. We will definitely be returning!

At the Waldorf Astoria Rivera Maya, we’ve had an incredible experience from the moment we arrived. In this ocassion my mom and I visited Cancun for a mom and daughter trip. The first day Dafne and Paty at the front desk welcomed us with impeccable hospitality, making us feel right at home from day one. Every thoughtful detail that Olga prepared in our room made our stay even more special. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and Miguel, Adrián, Benjamín, and Alberto took wonderful care of us every morning with exceptional service and genuine kindness. The menu is so varied and every meal was perfectly cooked and served. Although the beach was affected by a significant amount of sargassum, the activities organized by Cynthia, Montserrat, Esperanza, and Ale helped us stay relaxed, entertained, and positive throughout the day. They truly made a difference by helping us disconnect and enjoy our vacation. We created charms, painted alebrijes and beautiful bracelets. We also loved the “Clearing Training” classes with William, which allowed us to reconnect with our body, mind, and soul. We had core training classes and yoga sessions. My mom really enjoyed it and her lower back too. Our afternoons by the pool were unforgettable thanks to Omar, whose smile and charisma brightened every day, as well as the outstanding service from Luis Gabriel, Sebastián, Giovanni, Gerardo, and Javier. Watching the sunsets while listening to the amazing musical duo Mariana and Brayan was magical, and ending each day with a spectacular dinner at Malpece, where JL and Alejandro provided exceptional service, was the perfect finishing touch. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

Our stay at the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya was exceptional, and the outstanding service from the staff made it truly memorable. The bellman, Manuel, greeted us warmly and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Each day he would greet us and chat about how our day was. He was the first staff member we met and set the tone for a wonderful stay. Our waiter, Benjamin, provided attentive, friendly, and professional service at every meal. His recommendations were excellent, and they made every dining experience feel special. Hats off to the chef…the food was beautiful! The concierges, Oziel and Karina, went above and beyond to ensure our vacation was perfect, assisting with reservations, and any needs we had. They took genuine care of us with enthusiasm. The spa staff provided a wonderful and relaxing experience for us. The hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail from these team members exceeded our expectations. Thank you for making our stay at the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya such a relaxing and unforgettable experience. We will definitely be returning!

This was a return trip for my husband's birthday. The level of service was astounding and it was nice to see familiar faces. There's plenty of things to do on property so we never had to step foot off the resort. From mezcal/beer tastings with Jorge, arts & crafts with Esperanza and Cinthia, spa time with Alejandro, Connie and Brenda, to DJ and live entertainment in the evenings, days are fulfilled to prepare you for a good night's rest. We have deemed this property our yearly birthday destination. Until next year!

We had a wonderful stay at the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya. The property is beautiful, with stunning pools, a well-equipped gym, and an exceptional room featuring breathtaking views, a private balcony, and even a jacuzzi on the balcony. The dining was a highlight throughout our stay. The signature restaurant was excellent, but Chaya was truly outstanding. The complimentary breakfast exceeded our expectations—authentic, flavorful, and incredibly filling. It was one of the best resort breakfasts we’ve experienced. A special thank you to Irvin at Chaya. He was about as perfect a server as you can have—professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely conversational without ever being intrusive. He elevated an already great dining experience and is a credit to the Waldorf Astoria team. We would gladly return and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable Riviera Maya experience.

My partner, Sunil Talati, and I attended the clay-making activity at the resort in June, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Cynthia provided exceptional customer service and guided us through the process with clear, helpful instructions, making it easy and enjoyable for us as beginners. We had a wonderful time creating our clay trinkets as souvenirs from our stay and truly appreciated the opportunity to share such a fun and memorable bonding experience together. Cynthia’s warmth, hospitality, and enthusiasm made the activity even more special, and her outstanding service left a lasting impression on us. We are very pleased with the experience and look forward to participating in more activities at the resort during the rest of our stay. INCREDIBLE stay! We were upgraded to a private pool suite by being diamond members and the accomodations were top tier and spacious. Not only was it a beautiful room, but it had a beautiful main pool, fantastic spa services, and super kind staff. They have daily activities for the kids and Odemaris even gave my girls little piñatas full of goodies upon our exit. All in all one of the best hotels in Cancun! I highly recommend!!

The hotel is lovely—very clean, well maintained, and staffed by wonderful people. We are especially enjoying the poolside crafts and activities. Esperanza, Cinthia, and Ale are incredibly creative and so patient with the kids. My children are having such a great time that we’re planning our days around the activity schedule! Their enthusiasm and kindness make each activity special. The poolside staff is also consistently friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Everyone goes out of their way to make guests feel comfortable and taken care of. We are having a fantastic stay and highly recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, made even better by the truly helpful and kind staff. A special thank you to Cinthia and Esperanza, who run the crafts by the pool each day. They were incredibly patient, warm, and engaging with our kids, and our children absolutely loved participating in the activities. It was so nice that the crafts were available poolside, allowing our kids to stay outside with us rather than having to go indoors to the kids’ club. This was a huge plus for our family and made the experience more relaxing and enjoyable for everyone.

Overall we had a great stay. It's a great place if you want to simply relax by a beautiful pool for a few days. If I could give it a 4.5 or 4.75. I would give this score to reflect that the food was "meh" (consistently bland) and the shower had some pressure and heat issues (possibly due to capacity crowd as it got better our final day). Additionally the lounge chair situation was unnecessarily annoying because of their policy of allowing guests to grab chairs early morning and hold chairs for the full day. The gym had sufficient machines but no view so if you like a serene setting for the gym, this isn't it. The spa was beautiful. One day housekeeping hadn't cleaned one of the rooms even at 5pm and another day at 3:30 they still hadn't gotten to our room. As I mentioned, they were at peak capacity. The property is beautiful but be aware that there is nothing much to do on site except sit by the (very beatiful) pool. The beach by the hotel is relatively small. It is pretty to overlook the water but other hotels near us had much wider, more inviting sandy beaches. Also to note, the hotel is a long drive (about 30 minutes) from the main area with hotels and tourist restaurants so if you want to eat off site, the recommended restaurants are a good distance away. Rooms are generously sized and I appreciate that there is room to unpack. The dressers are in the bathroom space, which works well if you have an earlier riser and don't want to wake the other inhabitant. Overall the staff was very warm and they were well staffed, even with peak crowds. We were there for peak winter travel days between Christmas and NYE. We were not happy when we arrived and learned that everybody reserves their lounge chairs starting around 7am and even though people are gone for hours, the chairs stay reserved. I would urge the hotel to reconsider this policy. Many chairs were empty for hours on end while other guests had to make do with locations that were shady by afternoon. To their credit, they remedied the situation after our first day by finding maybe 100 extra lounges (not as nice as their usual ones) which they added to the set up to ensure there were sufficient lounges for all guests. The pool areas are beautiful and the two pools are very large so even with a lot of people in the pool, there is plenty of room. One of the pools was heated. It was also nice that there were 4 large hot tubs adjacent to the pool. The pools have a large ledge that is shallow which works well for little kids and parents so the parents aren't stuck at a kiddie pool. The food was a little disappointing, overall bland.
