Secrets The Vine Cancun

Pros: super friendly staff, food is good but not overly exceptional, drinks are good and a good selection, pool vibe is good but you need to get up early to save chairs (no big deal), spa experience was good Cons: pool is slightly too cold, windy at times, steakhouse could have better steaks and a better wine list but house wine is ok, Sea Salt and Olio menus could be better.

We just got back from The Vine and it was absolutely amazing! The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We are vegan and we were so so happy with the vegan food. We especially loved our dinner at the market cafe where the manager Jorge went out of his way to make sure we had a gourmet meal. Everything was really fantastic. Very chill vibes but also fun and friendly. We met some really nice couples and had an overall wonderful time. The room was beautiful and clean. I can’t say enough good things about this place! Would absolutely go back!

Overall, the resort is nice and the staff are accommodating, but there are a few drawbacks worth noting. 1. The food at the restaurants are average at best. We preferred the dining experience at the Hilton All-Inclusive, which offers high quality and variety. 2. The dress code! My partner, who lives in Cancun, only brought shorts and was not allowed into several restaurants because he didn’t have long pants. This felt unnecessary, especially since the restaurants themselves are not particularly formal or upscale. 3. 5am wake up! Another major downside was the sun loungers. By 7am, most were already taken, with very limited availability for front-row, sea-view spots. Guests said they were going down as early as 5am to secure chairs, which is honestly wild for a resort at this price point. I also heard the manager say they had guests who went down at 3am! We ended up waking up at 6am every day just to find a place to sit. Overall, while the hotel itself is nice, it doesn’t quite justify the high price given these inconveniences.

It was our 2nd time at Secret's the Vine and it was just as good (if not better!) than the first visit! We were in a preferred junior suite ocean view on the 24th floor and the room was very clean and super spacious! The bed was old and could use a replacement, but for the age of the property I assume that is expected. The concierge on the 24th floor was Oscar and he was amazing! He was literally around every corner we turned and greeted us by name every time he saw us. He made special accomodations and offered assistance in person and via What's App. We loved our morning breakfasts with Abigail and Edgar! They were both so sweet and attentive. There was not a time that they overlooked any detail about our drinks or preferred food items. They were so sweet! Ibeth at the preferred pool was our favorite ever! So funny, so attentive and so kind! We love the staff and you will too! We are tippers and believe everyone deserves good tips! Please tip these staff members--including housekeeping, mini bar, waiters, waitresses, bartenders, and pool staff. We will be back!

I could honestly write a book about this place but ill try to keep it as short as I can for the sake of the people reading it. There are so many good things to say about this resort, its hard to choose where to start. This was my first time in Mexico after only going to Cuba or the Dominican and its set the bar extremely high for future vacations. It will honestly be hard to choose another resort when its time for my next vacation. Here is a breakdown about this place and my thoughts on it: General Overview: This is a high-end, laid-back, ultra-luxury resort perfect for couples or friend groups that want to take it easy and eat and drink like kings. Resort: It has a very high-end feel and look about it. You can see that they put a lot of thought into the design of the place when you go around the property. It really does make you feel like it was money well spent while you are there. Food: By far the best food I've had on vacation. From the breakfast buffet, to the restaurants and the room service; everything is excellent. My personal favorite was the steakhouse but the Italian and Mediterranean restaurants were great too. We ended up going to the steakhouse 4 nights out of my 7 night stay because we liked it so much. The pasta was great and the shawarma was amazing. The sea salt grill was also great but we only went there mid-day when we were hungry from being on the beach all day so im not sure how it is for dinner but I'd be willing to bet its great. Drinks: The resort offers tons of premium options as far as liquor goes and there's none of that watered down garbage you'll find at other places. The bartenders are always helpful when suggesting drink options and they can make just about anything you want so you'll never be bored. Im usually a beer drinker but I just stuck with mojitos and canteritas this trip because they were more refreshing. I noticed modelo and dos equis being the main beers that I saw for beer drinkers but there is probably others as well. Coffee Bar: I had to make the coffee part separate because it was genuinely some of the best coffee ive ever had. Whether you like yours hot or iced, the staff that work at the coffee bar make amazing coffee snd their service is fantastic. Special shoutout to Enid and Ixchel for not only being fantastic at their jobs and making great coffees but for just being nice people to interact with every day. Service: Genuinely the best service I've had anywhere. The staff go above and beyond to really make your stay that much more enjoyable and their efforts go a long way. Throughout the entire stay, my girlfriend and I were constantly commenting on how good the service was. Whether its a concierge, server, bartender, maid, entertainment staff or really just about anyone; the service was always excellent and it truly did make a huge difference for us and made us love this trip that much more. One other thing, its crazy how clean it is everywhere. The staff do a great job of cleaning up after messy guests and even areas where you would expect a little dust or something, are spotless. Rooms: We absolutely loved our room. We had the King deluxe and had a great view of the resort and the ocean. We were in room 1829 and loved it from the second we walked in. The layout is luxurious, spacious and very comfortable. I could live there year round honestly. Another thing that truly made a difference was the maid. Ana Karen did an unbelievable job of cleaning our room every day. She went above and beyond making sure the place was spotless and we always had enough towels, water, soap and whatever else we needed. It made a massive difference and I really hope she gets paid what she deserves because she was amazing. Beach: The beach is beautiful. Soft white sand and the water was very clear. There was no rocks or anything to worry about when entering/exiting the water or swimming. The sargassum was up and down but thats not the resorts fault, mother nature is and will always be undefeated. The resort had tractors come by and pick up the sargassum that would wash up on shore. As far as swimming goes, it was never bad enough for me to not swim and some days were very clear. The beach servers do a great job of attending to the guests and Carlos works his ass off to cater to the people lounging on the beach. Again, I really hope the staff here get paid well because they deserve it. Location: The resort's on the main strip so there's lots to do and see if you want to go off resort. We never did but if you're into that there is lots of bars, restaurants and clubs nearby. Its also very close to the airport so the ride to and from is short which was very nice. It felt like a 20 minute ride to and from which was a really nice change from what im used to. If you're looking for a big party vibe I wouldnt go here but it was perfect for the kind of vacation we were looking for. I'm very picky when it comes to just about everything and I honestly had zero complaints about this trip. The only thing I could think of was I wish I could have stayed longer. I genuinely cant wait to come back. Special shoutouts: -Our maid Ana Karen did an amazing job and was such a nice lady. It made a huge difference for us every day. -Samara at the breakfast buffet that was making the eggs for everyone made great eggs and was always in a happy, positive mood. 10/10 service. -Big shoutout to Gustavo, Manuel, Pablo, Jose(the best) and Jerri at the steakhouse. 10/10 service combined with 10/10 food made our dinners that much more enjoyable. I gotta give special recognition to Jose for being so personable and making our dinners so much better than they already were. His drink recommendations were great and he was just a great guy to talk to and interact with. -The pool bar bartenders Ricardo, Salvador, Christopher and Alberto were great. Really gotta highlight Ricardo and Salvador because i dealt with them the most and they not only made amazing drinks but were great to interact with and talk to. -Enid and Ixchel at the Coffee Bar not only made amazing coffee but were such positive, kind people and it was a pleasure talking to them every day. -The beach servers Gabriel and Daniel were fantastic every day and were always great with speedy service and drink recommendations. They made our time on the beach that much more enjoyable. -Carlos that works on the beach setting up umbrellas and general guest needs works his ass off and really deserves some recognition. Working in that sun all day, moving around chairs and heavy umbrellas isnt easy and he was always in a good mood doing it. -At the Olio restaurant, Jorge went above and beyond to give us great service and drink recommendations while we were there. He even went out of his way to bring my girlfriend and I mescalitas when we finished dinner at the steakhouse. I cant say enough good things about the guy, not only as a worker but as a person as well. You can tell when someone is genuine and he definitely is. Alfredo was also a great server and we really enjoyed our dinner there. -Yair at the seaside grill was great and we enjoyed his service. Thank you all for an amazing vacation -Filip and Karolina

A wonderful week spent in this beautiful hotel with delicious food and friendly hospitality. We loved the saying it’s my pleasure’ whenever you’d thank the staff. A great get away for warmth and sun with pleasures at your fingertips from pool and ocean side bar drinks to cappuccino s and treats at the cafe. A special shout out to Gabriel our wait staff at the market cafe for breakfast one morning who was friendly and hard working. All the staff at this resort go above and beyond to make your stay pleasurable. The adult only atmosphere is wonderful and great entertainment in the evenings. Aquafit in the pool was fun and the workout room well equipped with treadmills overlooking the ocean. Thanks for a wonderful vacation after a long Canadian winter.

Stuck between a 3 or 4 star rating because of the difficulty getting chairs in particular on the beach. We very much enjoyed this resort and especially the staff, food was very good, bars were fantastic and as I mentioned before the staff was terrific. Easy access to and from the Cancun Airport makes this a great long weekend resort. Chair situation is a real issue, during our stay we were unable to sit on the beach (we did keep coming back to try and get chairs but to no avail). The pools were better and the staff did help when asked. If not for the lounger issues this is a strong 5 star. Hopefully they can improve the policing of people putting towels down in multiple locations at 6:30 am.

The resort is super clean and well maintained. All the food is amazing, the breakfast buffet at Market Cafe has a made to order omelet station and the lunch buffet has so many options, fresh orange juice and to many desserts. Sea Salt had some Octopus Tostadas that were an absolute treat and we went back because of them. The staff is super helpful and very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we felt taken care of. Thanks to Michelle at Sea Salt and Esmeralda at Market Cafe and the rest of the staff who helped make our stay awesome.

As others have mentioned, the staff that we encountered were second to none. They are obviously trained to be extremely service-oriented, and ensure their guests have everything they need for an enjoyable stay. There are so many whose names we did not get, but I want to do a huge shout out to Hector, the Concierge on the 26th floor. He was amazing! In addition, Benjamin (Benji) the pool Concierge on the 12th floor. Both of these gentlemen went out of their way each day to ensure we had everything we needed and that we were well taken care of. They went above and beyond. Humberto and Juan were excellent waiters in the preferred pool area. Ivan, also I Concierge on the 26th floor, was excellent. Our housekeeper, Yolanda, kept our room, clean and tidy, and was very kind and pleasant. In the Market Cafe, a shout out to Enrique and Walberto. Luiz in the Lobby Bar did a great job. Eduardo in the Italian restaurant went out of his way to accommodate our dining preferences. An extra shout out to Hector, our Concierge on the 26th floor. Our luggage was left on the tarmac at the airport in Cancun for a very long time and got soaking wet in the rain. Our luggage and clothes in the suitcase were all wet. Upon arrival to the hotel, and after check-in, we explained our plight to Hector. He immediately collaborated with a staff member from the laundry. I wish I had his name, but I don’t. He was so willing to accommodate our needs and take care of our wet clothes. Between he and Hector, they saw to it that the contents of four pieces of luggage were dried, laundered, ironed and returned in a timely manner and in impeccable fashion. We couldn’t believe it. They also provided us this service complimentary. Again, amazing. While our trip started off with that challenge, we were so impressed with how they managed it, and it continued to set the tone for the rest of our stay. Above average service. This resort is just beautiful. The rooms (Preferred) gorgeous and well appointed. Lastly, the entertainment is top-notch. Starting with the lobby bar, the lobby, and onto the shows. Entertainment during the day is great, too. Would definitely recommend this location for a beautiful, relaxing, vacation.

My stay at Secrets The Vine Cancun was really nice overall. The place is beautiful, super clean, and the views are just insane, especially from the rooms and pools. The staff is still really good too, everyone was kind and helpful the whole time. Lowkey tho, I gotta say… I miss Sexy Carlitos 😂 he used to work there years ago and brought such a fun vibe. Y’all should bring him back fr, just saying haha. But even without him, the energy is still good and the people there take care of you. Food and drinks were solid, and everything just felt easy and relaxing. Overall, really good experience, I’d definitely come back.
