We’ve just returned from an unforgettable stay at this resort in the Maldives, and we can only describe it as simply perfect. The food was one of the absolute highlights: varied, refined, and consistently outstanding – a well-deserved 10 out of 10. The wine list was truly impressive, both in terms of selection and quality, sure to satisfy even the most discerning guests. The service was top-notch: discreet, attentive, and always professional. The property itself was immaculate—modern, spotless, and meticulously maintained. The natural scenery was postcard-worthy: we were surrounded by areas that looked like natural pools, with stunning contrasts and shades of blue that were truly breathtaking. One aspect we particularly appreciated was the absolute privacy. The low level of interaction with other guests created a deeply relaxing and intimate atmosphere. Last but not least, the dedicated butler service was a real game changer. Our butler, Rajje, was exceptional—always available, thoughtful, and somehow always one step ahead of our needs. He allowed us to fully enjoy the experience without having to worry about a thing. An experience we’ll always carry with us and one we wholeheartedly recommend.

Our first trip to the Maldives came with high hopes and expectations. The Six Senses was one of three resorts we were lucky to stay at during our 2 week visit, and it was by far our favourite. The island is small enough to walk round in half an hour; our early morning walks to see the sunrise and watch the marine life were magical. Our beach villa was beautiful, private and full of lots of thoughtful little touches. The food choice was perfect for us. From delicious breakfasts to some of the best sushi and sashimi we've ever tasted. We also loved the special buffets, and dinner at the Spanish restaurant. Sundowners at the Point were also a highlight where the staff greeted us like old friends, remembering our favourite cocktails. We loved the relaxed vibe and the music played. And the ice cream shop was a welcome oasis; I still dream about the coconut ice cream. The service from every member of staff was what made the holiday. Huge thanks to Latheef, our GEM who touched base with us every morning and evening. His friendly personal service in booking restaurants, and making suggestions of activities to do was invaluable. We loved his recommendations of the sunset dolphin cruise, and also the wonderful spa. We have both worked in the service industry in our past lives, and appreciate the hard work that goes into making everything look so effortless. Senior managers worked alongside front of house staff, and every welcome and interaction was genuine perfection. Thank you!

Six Senses is a lovely brand which has great staff and lovely accommodation (we’ve stayed at Zighy Bay and Yao Noi before). Kanuhura is a lovely island with beautiful beaches all round - you can walk around it in 30 minutes and apart from about 5/6 seaplanes arriving each day it is very peaceful. When we were there the west side was still and the east side was very windy. The accommodation is lovely we had a Deluxe Beach Villa with pool which had a very comfortable bed and a conservatory sitting area and a small front private “garden” (more of a strip of sand) with a plunge pool and two loungers. The beach on the west side of the island is very deep and they have designed the beach accommodation in that category so it has privacy which also means you can’t see the sea from the room or loungers. We thought it was a bit strange that the resort didn’t make the beach more welcoming by providing loungers and umbrellas. There were just two seat swings one of which was broken. (This level of maintenance was unusual for the resort.) There are loungers on the beach further down the beach by Sip and Sand which is the pool bar/restaurant. The buffet evenings on the beach (2 each week on Tuesdays and Fridays) are excellent - great atmosphere and delicious food and so much effort had been put into it. There’s also delicious Japanese food offered one evening in the pool bar/restaurant. The breakfasts were delicious and fresh bread each morning was irresistible! Other than that I will be honest, we found the food underwhelming. There is so little choice at lunch. Nowhere to get a lovely salad or club sandwich. Just very expensive “bites” (eg 2 prawns costing $30). Lots of pizza on offer. We didn’t take to the Spanish restaurant at all - the decor makes you feel like you’re in a 1960s UK public swimming pool and the food wasn’t that good. The Italian was slightly better but generally it was all just underwhelming compared to other Maldives resorts we’ve stayed (Reethi Rah, Soneva Fushi). We were there when the wind was very strong and it was pretty impossible to swim off the island to the house reef. When we did we saw very little and it’s very very shallow at low tide - mostly unswimmable. We did do an Adventure and Turtle snorkelling trips ($500/600 for these two trips) to a nearby site which had much better snorkelling. I was disappointed we couldn’t snorkel from the island which is what I had understood when we booked. The gym is spacious and well equipped (although none of these gyms seem able to provide Wattbikes or Peletons…). Disappointingly there was very little in the way of yoga or Pilates provided (yoga each morning at 8am which doesn’t work for European jet lag!) The week we were there there was lots of breathing and the one Pilates session I tried was mostly breathing exercises which wasn’t quite what I wanted! I played with Milosh the tennis coach who was great and happy just to hit with me and give me some coaching tips. Good courts, good balls. The spa treatments we had were excellent - 3 massages which were dreamy. Lovely spa staff. Sameeh looked after us very well throughout with just the right amount of interaction. He had taken the initiative and booked our dinners which was great. He was very responsive when we needed anything. Would I go back? Maybe … yes. There’s a lot of choice in the Maldives so I’d have to see what else was on offer. If Kanuhura improved their lunch menu, got a better offering re proper Pilates classes and a Wattbike into the gym I’d definitely return!

Authenticity, beautiful nature, peace, nice design, delicious food, but what stood out the most was the staff. Their service never felt forced or scripted. From the moment we arrived on the island to the moment we left, we felt genuinely welcomed—like guests in someone’s home. A special thanks to our GEM, Sameeh—always around at the right moments, genuinely helpful, and kind. We will be back and hope to see him again on our next visit. I recommended this place to all my friends and family since I am back

Lovely stay at six senses kanuhura
Magnificent resort, Maldives are undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in the world. People working at six senses kanuhura are the kindest. I loved every minute of my stay at that resort. I would definitely recommend that hotel to anyone wanting to visit Maldives.

We were lucky enough to have recently enjoyed our fourth visit to this wonderful resort. The moment you step off the seaplane, you are met by a host of smiling faces to welcome you and the holiday has begun! The service here is exemplary - any little hiccups in the very early days since the Six Senses re-brand have been ironed out by Bryce, GM and FB, the Resort Manager - they must be very proud of their team and the lengths they go to to ensure the guests want for nothing. We stayed again in 'our' lovely villa opposite Drift, presented and maintained perfectly by Ali. We were very happy to see Sameeh again, he is the epitome of a perfect GEM! A wonderful surprise awaited us in Kashavelli when we discovered Vel was back, very ably supported by a very friendly and efficient team including Shifau, Jawadh, Fariz, Shijau, Clovia and Diva, never forgetting Adrian and his tempura prawns - look out for him on buffet nights! The standard of food was excellent, lots of choice and very accommodating if you fancied anything off the menu, nothing was too much trouble. We went to The Point 3 times, it was so good. Thank you to Adam for making sure we didn't miss it this visit [and for choosing our table for my 2 birthdays!] and hats off to Chef Mano for his superb paella - brilliant service there too, thank you Luca and Franco - amazing to sit out and watch the crabs scuttling on the beach, we felt very privileged. Another privilege was watching one solitary little baby turtle being rescued during the excavation of a nest on the beach - a fascinating experience hosted by Jocelyn and a colleague - and seeing it make its way down the beach to the ocean. The weather was a bit mixed [in spite of very confident always positive meteorological reports from Amsood!] but the covered area in the villa is very comfortable and we were lucky any rain didn't last long - and it certainly didn't stop us visiting the charming lady dispensing delicious icecream... The spa was another happy place - wonderful treatments - I think our therapists were Dawa, Narti, Anne and another lady whose name I didn't catch - we could certainly recommend all of them! Another wonderful experience at Kanuhura. We actually emailed Turquoise, our travel agent , while we were there and booked again for this year - so see you all again in December! Thank you to the whole team from the top to the bottom and Happy New Year.

As our first long haul and white sand holiday, I spent a lot of time wanting to make sure we found a special place. Wow - this was more than special it truly was the holiday of a lifetime, Amazing. As you would expect, beautiful beaches, wonderful blue sea, fantastic food, it also felt we just had the island to ourselves. But what made it so special were all the people who made us so welcomed with the perfect level of service. Too many to name, but Adam Nasr overseeing some of the best food and service I have had in any restaurant or hotel ever and a great team just making everything so easy for everone. Plus a big shout out to Ishani who made the daily ice creams even more enjoyable. There might be some better islands than this (although this is stunning and would have to be convinced) but I would doubt there are any in the Maldives that will make your stay more enjoyable through a genuine and sincere warmth we encountered from everyone who worked there. Thank you, even with three days of full rain for making this our holiday of a lifetime.

Superb service from a knowledgeable and well trained Six Senses team. Food is very good especially the locally caught blue fin tuna which is world class. But you need to be on a meal plan or it becomes costly . Alcohol is prohibitively expensive but that seems to be a feature of the Maldives generally. The setting is glorious and the white sandy beaches make the beach villas a good choice for privacy and relaxation. The facility has had a number of changes of ownership and the bathrooms in particular need upgrading. You are assigned a GEM ( general experience manager) and it’s like having a personal concierge. Our GEM ( Shania) was excellent. Easy to reach by the efficient sea plane service.
