Just arrived at the the Mercure Kooddoo Maldives and what a disappointment, if you’re looking for paradise and a true all inclusive experience there are better options available. We booked the premium all inclusive option but in reality there is nothing premium or all inclusive about it, we just went to order some bar snacks at the 4pm the time they are due to be served and told they are extra, also spirits in the mini bar - extra, when we questioned the all inclusive situation we were told it was the travel agents fault for not explaining it, but all inclusive should be all inclusive, I expect to pay more for high ticket items like lobster, steak or champagne but bar snacks, c’mon, there was very little empathy from reception I guess they know were here now so not a lot we can do about it, but others considering booking here be warned. Check in was a bit full on after 2 flights, bombarded with a lot of information, but not a lot of detail, the room is nice but there are a number of large tankers passing by which are a bit of an eyesore. It’s our first day so will update my review at the end of our stay but at the moment it’s very disappointing. inclusive is not all inclusive

From the time we booked our stay until we left the entire staff was absolutely amazing. They made sure that every detail of our stay was exactly what we wanted. We stayed in an over the water villa with a private pool and our villa Butler took care of our every need. The food was authentic each night, serving a different nationality and was absolutely perfection. Every staff member recognized us by name and made us feel very welcome. We utilized the restaurants on site, the dive shop, the excursions, the spa the on-site, photographer, and every person we encountered was professional and accommodating. There were plenty of activities to engage in and the marine life that we encountered was incredible. Every day we swam with colorful fish, stingrays, sharks, sea turtles, dolphins. From beginning to end it was a trip of a lifetime. I would recommend staying at this location to everyone. I hope that we get the opportunity to come back again.

Kooddoo Resort in the Maldives was a dream come true. Every moment there felt like a discovery, an unforgettable experience. The food at the "Vista" restaurant was incredible, with fresh local ingredients and stunning ocean views that made every meal special. Snorkeling was one of the highlights of my stay. The crystal-clear waters were home to vibrant fish, beautiful coral reefs, and even manta rays and sea turtles. It felt like diving into another world. After exploring the ocean, me and my wife did the coconut journey treatment with a magnific massage and scrub.. It was simply amazing! A big thank you to all the staff, from the reception to the restaurant, diving center, and spa. Their kindness and attention to detail made my experience even more memorable. Kooddoo Resort offers the perfect blend of luxury and natural beauty. If you’re looking for a dream getaway in the Maldives, this is the place to be. I can’t wait to return!

My partner and I came here for his birthday in Jan 2025. Upon arriving at Male airport we were greeted warmly and brought to the airport lounge. We had a lovely attendant that aided us in the check in process for the small flight to Kooddoo which was such a lovely attention to detail. She even came to grab us when check in was available and then again when we were ready to board. Already we were able to leave our worries at the door. Once we landed at Kooddoo we were again greeted warmly by Raushan and Ksenia who took us by cart to the lobby and helped us with the check in process. Raushan was amazing in explaining everything about our stay. He was incredibly kind, knowledgable and addressed any questions/concerns I had promptly. We were then driven to our over water sunset pool villa (519) at the very end of the dock with an amazing private view. We had a few bumps at the beginning but Raushan and Kseniia were instrumental in creating an amazing experience for our time at Mercure and my partners birthday. They truly went above and beyond for us on our 10 night stay.

My wife and I stayed at Mercure Kooddoo for 6 nights in mid-January 2025. It was a truly amazing experience: pretty much perfection. It's a beautiful, small adults-only resort, about an hour away from Male by plane. Excellent service, fast internet, and delicious food. We stayed at one of the overwater villas - beautiful and luxurious. Great water pressure in the shower and a very comfortable bed. Great swimming and snorkelling right outside the villa. I would highly recommend this resort and would like to come back again.

In Male, was greeted warmly by resort staff and took us to the lounge as we waited until the flight to the resort. The lounge was spacious and had wi-fi and food and drinks. Approx a 50 min flight from Male to the resort via a large propeller plane and was greeted by the resort staff after picking up luggage. A simple large golf cart ride, about 5-7 mins from the airport to the resort’s front desk. Check-in was a breeze and was then given a tour, via golf cart, of the resort property. Stayed in an overwater villa facing the Italian restaurant, with the all-inclusive meal plan (and included the transportation to/from Male). The villa was large, clean and the views was excellent. Loved the outdoor shower and tub, a good size patio in the back with a ladder to the water. Saw many baby sharks, sting rays, a baby turtle and other tropical fish from the back patio. Each day they would casually swim by back deck. Was positively surprised that we had three different welcome designs on the bed during the week long stay – thank you. And received a warm surprise at dinner with a ‘happy belated birthday’ piece of cake – they must have read my profile. The main eating area and the Italian restaurant had attentive, courtesy and hard working staff, received fantastic service here and also at the poolside/beachside bar. The various food theme nights had many different options at the main restaurant which was great to try different items across cultures. The diving and snorkeling was great along the house reef. The excursion reef tour and the dolphin cruise was excellent – staff and marine biologists were personable and helpful. A big thank you to the two marine biologists for your help, guidance and share of information during the snorkeling and dolphin cruise. Overall an excellent first time stay, we met other couples who were there to celebrate a 50th birthday, honeymooners, anniversary celebrations and those who were there just because. We do intend for a revisit soonest. A few simple areas of feedback - A few areas on the back patio need repairs with wobbly railings whereas new nails are needed ensure sturdiness. Also my feet found some patio plank nails that needed to be hammered back into the wood. Easy maintenance fixes. The stairs and ladder into the water could use improvement in terms of new paint, and new roping for the ladder.

We stayed here in December 2024 for a 5-night all-inclusive holiday booked through Luxury Escapes. We had originally booked the same trip in 2018 to travel in May 2020 but the Covid outbreak had other ideas. As you can imagine we were excited 4.5 years later being able to finally step foot in the Maldives. Mercure were kind enough to upgrade us from an Overwater Villa to an Overwater Pool Villa and we were so thankful. It was as stunning as all the pictures on the net. We had arrived at the end of the wet season, and it was still a little windy. Everyday spent there the water was getting smoother and clearer. As very active people I thought we may have got bored being stuck in one place, but wow, I was so wrong with that thought. We absolutely loved every single minute of our 5 nights here. Every meal, every interaction with staff and every experience surpassed any expectations we had. This was hands down, our favorite holiday. We will be back and stay longer. Thank you to Shia, Dharmika, Ali, Pubudu, Kunal, Kami, Allina and all the staff that ensured we had the best holiday. One word…..UNFORGETABLE

My wife and I just got home from our week at the Mercure Kooddoo Resort. The pictures on the website hardly do it justice. Our ocean villa was immaculate, and the housekeeping staff made it perfect every day. The bed art celebrating my 5th wedding anniversary that was there upon arrival was beautiful. Thanks Jilani. The buffet at the Alita restaurant was easily the highest quality buffet I have ever eaten at. The variety was not overwhelming, and each dish tasted excellent. The Vista restaurant was a great experience as well, but you need to plan ahead for dinner and make reservations. Thanks chef Selvakumar, servers Hassan and Louann. If you have any interest in Scuba diving, the water sports staff are extremely knowledgeable. If you aren’t certified, they can teach you the skills you need to dive safely, and then accompany you to view all of the coral and wildlife. Afterwards, they shared all of the GoPro video, so you can relive your experience. Thanks Marty. The bartending staff have a knack for quickly building rapport with guests. They remember your name, room number and what you like to drink in no time. These guys are the definition of “service with a smile.” Thanks Yukthi and Kamal. Punjubu, you also get an honorable mention. When weather took away my chance to use one of my guest experience vouchers, the front desk supervisor helped me out and gave me a different voucher so my wife and I could get a massage. Thanks Ella. Thanks again for an incredible experience, and hats off to the Resort Manager Stefania Banfi for running such a fine establishment.

We spent 9 nights at Mercure Kooddoo in December 2024 and.... we loved every second and every aspect of our stay!. The resort is located in one of the still less known south atolls of this amazing and unique 'woterworld' country. We stayed in a Beach Villa which was spacious, airy, light filled and comes with a beautiful maldivian style openair bathroom! The highlight are though the beach and the views of the lagoon at your doorstep! Amenities are essential but adequate for the resort category. The island is reached via a domestic flight from Male, and the small island-style airport shares this beautiful piece of land with the Mercure. So no long waiting to reach your corner of paradise upon arrival or the airport once you sadly have to leave! The lagoon is beautiful and the house reef rich in corals and sea life from sharks to turtles and plenty of colourful fishes, that will keep you willing to spend most of your time in the crystal clear waters. The two restaurants and the bar offer a huge variety of food and drinks which will force you on a diet once you go home! Food is plentiful, fresh and well presented. We recommend to go AI to fully enjoy your holiday. The service and staff deserve a special praise as the whole team, graciously led by Stefania, the Resort Manager, is so welcoming, attentive, friendly and is definitely going to make your stay an even more special experience! Don't miss the excursions and the activities the resort offers, especially the dolphin cruise and a massage at the SPA! Being an adult only resort and having only 68 villas, this is the place to fully relax and reconnect with nature and your half. Don't expect posh surroundings, but a more genuine Maldivian experience with a touch of luxury and great comfort. We had a wonderful stay and hope to come back in the future. Our heart felt thank you to the entire Mercure team!!

Our stay at Kooddoo Resort in the Maldives was an unforgettable experience, especially in the stunning Beach Villa. From the moment we arrived, the seamless hospitality and serene atmosphere made us feel like we had stepped into paradise. The Villa was a spacious, beautifully designed sanctuary nestled in lush greenery with direct beach access. The villa offered the ultimate in privacy, with a serene outdoor deck and a private access to the powdery white sand beach. The beach itself was immaculate, with powdery soft sand and crystal-clear waters that were perfect for swimming or simply lounging. Snorkeling right off the shore allowed us to see vibrant coral and an array of marine life, which was an incredible highlight. The activities offered at Kooddoo were equally impressive. Snorkeling among colorful coral reefs, taking a dolphin cruise, paddle boarding and more, plus indulging in spa treatments all enhanced our stay. Dining at the resort was a delight. The variety and quality of food were outstanding, with fresh and flavorful options to suit every preference. Enjoying breakfast with a view of the ocean was a wonderful way to start each day, and the themed dinners added an element of excitement to the evenings. The staff at Kooddoo truly went above and beyond, always ensuring our needs were met with a smile. Their attention to detail and genuine warmth made our stay even more special. For those seeking a balance of relaxation and adventure, Kooddoo Resort is the perfect choice. Our Beach Villa stay offered the ultimate in comfort and natural beauty, and we’re already dreaming of our return to this slice of paradise.

We had a great time overall. We had an overwaters sunset pool villa. The room was absolutely beautiful, the view was perfect, the bathroom and outdoor shower were brilliant and the back deck was perfect for amazing sunsets. The weather was very good, with only a few showers at night the week we were there. The breeze off the ocean kept the temperature perfect. The main area is spacious. All the staff were very nice, they really take care of the guests. We snorkeled every day and did kayaking as well. The only thing that kept the review from being perfect was the food at Alita. Perhaps a few too many choices, trying to be fancy with too many international dishes that weren't that special rather than focusing on keeping the food fresh and local. There were some good nights, but on the whole we have had better food at other resorts. Vista, the Italian restaurant by reservation, was a bit better. But on the whole, if you dream of seeing the Maldives as we did, the resort will give you the experience you're after.

My husband and I booked and rebooked this vacation several times before we were actually able to go. It was worth the wait! The staff was very responsive to our change of dates and requests as we were booking. I had mentioned early in the booking process that we would like a villa as close to the end of the walk as possible and arrived to find we were in the villa second from the end. All of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Staff coordinated with the hotels we stayed with before and after our arrival, which made the whole thing effortless. It was so nice to arrive and have someone waiting for you. We never even had to stop and think about where we needed to go. We bought our vacation through Travelzoo and the discounted activities/excursions offered through Travelzoo were different than the ones typically offered through the resort. The resort honored Travelzoo's discounts with the provided voucher. You can tell they work hard to provide excellent customer service. The resort is less than a 1 minute golf cart ride from the hotel, though other than the sound of the rare plane landing and taking off, you would never know you were airport was there. The grounds are beautifully kept. We stayed in an over the water sunset villa with a pool and loved it. The room was large and bed comfy. The mini bar was restocked daily. Internet connection was good throughout the resort. The sunset view was unobstructed and beautiful. Snorkeling right off of our deck was amazing when we were able to get in the water. We saw so many types of fish, sharks, and turtles both from our deck and when snorkeling. Unfortunately, it was quite windy on most days so we weren't able to jet ski, kayak, or stand up paddle board. The pool was fresh water, and we were happy we selected a villa with a pool. We only ate at the buffet though there is an Italian restaurant as well. The buffet had such a large and delicious variety of food that we never felt the need to go to the restaurant. We booked a couples massage. As someone who has had hundreds of massages, I can honestly say it was excellent. I also had a facial which I enjoyed. I felt the prices for the spa treatments were reasonably priced. We really enjoyed the adults only atmosphere. Even though there were no children, it was not a party atmosphere. I would highly recommend coming here if you are looking to relax in a beautiful location with good food, great service, and no children.

First time to the Maldives and WOW!! 5 out of 5 for this place. Great staff always happy and smiling and can’t do enough for you. I mean nothing is too much. Where to start, Arrival you are greeted at reception where they are just want to explain everything. The bar staff including Kasun,Pradeep just to name a couple are outstanding and never lets you go dry! The food well ,massive variety ,lot of theme nights and so well presented, everything freshly cooked and baked. My morning coffee was waiting for me with a massive smile. We had a room with pool by the beach, very private and really well presented. Even to mention the staff at the marine Centre, Went on the dolphin cruise and saw hundreds yes hundreds of dolphins. I can’t write highly enough of this place ,service with a smile Only let down (sorry half a point) the internet is not great but they tell me they are working in it. Had drinks with all the crew from management to bar staff and learnt that a lot goes into the Logistics of these places and what a job they all do. Congratulations everyone you made our stay Fantastic.

Everything at this wonderful resort was top notch! Everything starts with a dedicated and courteous staff, and they were all so nice and attentive - Selva, the Chef at the buffet, Aman, our housekeeper, Nicholas, the dive master, Christina at the dive shop. A few names I unfortunately can't recall, but the bartender, the DJ, the front desk staff - they are all wonderful! The food was EXCELLENT, which was an unexpected surprise, as this is an all-inclusive resort. The variety, quality, taste and presentation of all the food was outstanding. Our accommodation (water villa with pool) was superb and well maintained - very clean with comfortable bed and linens, and a large bathroom with soaking tub and separate shower. The sunset views from our pool were stunningly beautiful. My wife went diving twice and the dive team is very profesionnal and make you feel safe. We also went on the Sand Bank excursion, which I recommend - snorkeling was like being in a huge aquarium with a variety beautifully colored fish - we even saw a leopard shark! The main pool is expansive and lovely. This adults only resort is one of the best all-inclusive ones we've been to. We will most likely visit again, and we highly recommend it!

It was everything we hoped for and more! The room was exactly as advertised and the daily room service was exceptional. We had one of the more desired locations, close to the end of the reef which also makes it a longer walk to everything else. However, the staff was always willing to give us a lift on one of the golf carts whenever we requested, usually within 5 minutes. The two restaurants were more than adequate with the variety and quality of food offered and the service was exceptional. Ibrahim, Made and Fazlan at Alita were so thoughtful and always looking to see how they could accommodate us. Yamen at the Vista restaurant was very attentive and professional. He also made the best aperol spritz on the island! Reception was quick to respond to any questions or requests that we had, I'm pretty sure "no" is not in their vocabulary! Kylie at reception seemed to be able to read our minds and was always there when we requested anything. The dive center runs all the recreational activities and tours so we got to know all of them. Chris, Nikko and the other dive instructor were fantastic. Not only were they enjoyable to spend time with, but very professional and knowledgeable about everything we were doing. I highly recommend doing at least one snorkel tour and if you are comfortable, going diving. The island is an amazing underwater playground and you should take advantage of it! It is really a small resort so we didn't have any crowds or lines! We couldn't get everyone's names but really, every employee was terrific, which says a lot about the management! Tips: Bring lots of sunscreen, go during the dry season, stay on the sunset side, go snorkeling/diving multiple times a day.

Firstly I will begin with the bad points as there’s really only a few. The front of house management is poor . Check in was way to OTT . We had been travelling for around 20 hours and was keen to get to our room but it went on a bit . We also had an issue with the all inclusive part of the resort which in all truth was handled very badly . The manager in question later apologised but by then the start of our stay had been soured somewhat. Also the manager of the entire resort introduced herself at the reception and said she would see us around. We never saw her again, only at the management cocktail hour and even then she couldn’t be bothered to speak to is simply spending her time with the guests that were staying in the most expensive villa. Be aware that some things in resort are chargeable even though we were premium all inclusive. There’s a lot of tankers that go past which isn’t too much of an issue. There is a fish factory on the island and to be honest I think this had something to do with the amount of flies that were around. They were extremely annoying especially in the morning . There’s also a very small beach and there are no loungers on there so if you expect to sit on the beach you can’t. Now to the good stuff! THE STAFF . They were what really made it . Every single person had a smile and was amazing. Kasun and all the gang at the bar ! They are lucky to have you! We never had an empty glass! Ibrahim and everyone in the restaurant including all those working behind the scenes, you were truly wonderful. Bare in mind some of the guys were fasting and it must have been incredibly difficult in the heat yet they were still happy. Our room was cleaned fabulously every day by our lovely cleaner. Even the staff in the dive centre were fab! The reef is to die for! We saw so many wonderful things ! The food could be a little warmer in the buffet but we addressed it and it did get better throughout our week. All in all it is a stunning resort but honestly I think the staff were superb and really made our holiday. Would I recommend Kooddoo? Most definitely!! Would I go back? In a heartbeat!! Just hope those that are high up recognise the hard work of the employees as to be completely honest they were the icing on the cake!

Resort We loved the Mecure Maldives - it’s a small resort and so very relaxed, attracting similarly chilled out people of a range of ages. It had all the usual activities on offer from the dive centre. The reef, from the kayaking that we did, looked pretty good. We even saw a pod of dolphins passing by when we were in the pool bar on our last day. Bar & drinks I was pleased with the options of drinks offered - we’d rather drink local beers and cocktails than something that we might get at home. I avoided the Carlsberg on draft for that reason - its brewed in our home town. Instead went for local Lion beer, a Chinese beer and an Italian beer that was on offer. All were great - and served ice cold. The guys at the bar knew my wife’s and my drinks within a day and would start pouring before we got to the bar. Fishing Fishing was a highlight for us. Just a 10min ride out to the fishing spot and then traditional line fishing. We both caught a fish each, and had one cooked for us for lunch the next day - it was delicious. Italian The Italian restaurant is fantastic. We love the idea of all inclusive, I think it’s even better if it’s cooked to order, and better still if it is as well cooked as the chefs did in this restaurant, and served to the table efficiently. The restaurant doesn’t open everyday - so booking is suggested. We couldn’t get a suitable evening booking, but in all honesty - the view back at the resort, other islands and end of the runway is best in the afternoon when the restaurant didn’t need a booking. We ate there twice and had a great meal each time. Buffet restaurant This was good - lots of available options, together with a live station, for breakfast lunch and dinner. The local food was good. Indian meal This was very good. We really enjoyed the experience. The portion sizes were great and the flavours were good. It was a well cooked meal from start to finish. Beer delivery We didn’t try this, nor did we use the mini bar - as we were so close to the main bar and pool, and sunbathing there was better. Villa The villa was very nice - with a great outdoor shower which I took advantage of a number of times. Everything was as advertised and expected. There was also a bath - we didn’t get around to using that. Water pressure was great and there were plenty of fluffy towels provided. Zircon was good - in both bathroom and bedroom. If I return. I think I would go for the Overwater villa to avoid the insects around the beach villas, and also for access from the steps to the sea. The depth of the water at the bottom of the steps was very shallow and allowed great exploring in beach shoes. The variety and number of fish that could be observed was excellent. Arriving and leaving Checkin was handled very well, completed check in at our villa - allowing for us to start our holiday only after a short tour of the resort. And at check out, once all the formalities were completed, we were taken back to the pool bar for a couple of drinks then the short drive to the airport. Bar to departure lounge - 5 mins. Pity that the plane was a little late. Environment The little bit of jungle, together with the fish factory at the other end of the island doesn’t help with controlling flies and insects - even with the twice per day fogging. The flies and insects weren’t much of a nuisance - but packing some bug repellent and some bite treatment to manage any itchy sores would be a smart move. Communication I think the resort could do a little better with updating the timetable for each day - improved clarification on when the Italian restaurant is open, that earth day was being celebrated - are a couple of examples. The other resort we were at sent a short WhatsApp each day which was useful and maintained communication with the guest experience managers. During earth day when the lights were out, and the stars came out it occurred to me that an offering of star gazing would be a great option - perhaps switching the lights off at the Italian restaurant when it isn’t operating - I’m sure the far side would create a good dark area from which to gaze. Top tips Take plenty of sunscreen Consider an overwater villa Go fishing Bring insect repellent
