We have visited this resort many times. At each return, it feels like a return to home. Manuel M has been part of the staff since our first visit and makes it so very special. I have some serious food allergies and he is hyper aware and keeps me safe....

We have visited this resort many times. At each return, it feels like a return to home. Manuel M has been part of the staff since our first visit and makes it so very special. I have some serious food allergies and he is hyper aware and keeps me safe. Roberto is a new concierge. We were blown away that he had been at Mahekal only a short time. I’m excited to see him again I note next visit. He was extremely helpful and detail oriented

Everything about this resort was great. The staff were super friendly, the location was perfect. No problem getting a chair at the beach or pool. The rooms were unique, and the grounds were tropical. Easy to walk to nice restaurants that were very nice and the entire area felt safe....

Everything about this resort was great. The staff were super friendly, the location was perfect. No problem getting a chair at the beach or pool. The rooms were unique, and the grounds were tropical. Easy to walk to nice restaurants that were very nice and the entire area felt safe. The restaurants had excellent food. If you are looking for a super fancy resort I wouldn’t pick this resort but if you want great service, unique room, great location and spectacular service this resort is for you.

Fantastic experience, the staff, food and the cute rustic accommodations with a jungle atmosphere was a welcomed change from the large big resorts. Just out side the resort is city shops, restaurants and entertainment. I will be going back. Thank you Osiris 👍👍👍👍

Wonderful resort in a great location. Loved the private rooms. Food was great. Especially enjoyed the friendly staff, Starbucks on location and loved the Fit Bodies yoga with Melissa on the beach every morning. Looking forward to going back.

The resort is awesome and we wish we could stay longer. Food at Fuego is excellent. Believe it or not, we're in the restaurant right now and trying to figure out a way to stay a few more days. The bungalows are one of the best part of this resort, it's very intimate and enjoyable to stay at. Cleaning crew gets in and out without even knowing it and with all the pools, there always seems to be a place where you can get a chair and relax.

The resort is beautifully hidden away, yet close to everything. The security is exceptional. The check-in is full of extra fees one must pay or secure to a credit card. A bit excessive, I thought, but those are their rules. Otherwise, a lovely time was had by all.

We enjoyed Mahekal a lot. Its such a beautiful hotel in an amazing park. Everything is good here; the bungalows, the pools, the food, the staff and the service. Especially Corinna from the conciergeteam who made my birthday super special! Thank you again for it!

We love staying this gorgeous resort. Each time we stay, we are so impressed by the excellent staff. During our most recent visit, when we had an unexpected issue come up with our room, Ana at the front desk was so accommodating and professional. She handled the situation immediately and truly enhanced our stay. We could not have been more grateful. Kimberly in the Olas restaurant was so warm, delightful and accommodating. Everyone we encountered was helpful, kind and thoughtful. The staff is truly exceptional. Highly recommend.

This resort was absolutely amazing in every way. From our room (just beautiful), to the restaurants (great service and food), to the beach cabanas (great view). It was the most relaxing vacation we’ve ever experienced. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. I personally did not want to leave....

The pictures, no matter how beautiful they are, do not do this place justice. I will have a wonderful memory of being here and hopefully have a chance to come back. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!!!

The hotel is amazing, and if you’re looking to avoid those isolated, all-inclusive resorts, this is definitely the place to stay. However, I can’t give it five stars because on our last day, the hotel hosted a private event and closed one of the pools. This created an overcrowding issue...

The hotel is amazing, and if you’re looking to avoid those isolated, all-inclusive resorts, this is definitely the place to stay. However, I can’t give it five stars because on our last day, the hotel hosted a private event and closed one of the pools. This created an overcrowding issue in the remaining pools—made worse by the fact that it was a very windy day, so most guests avoided the beach and stayed poolside instead. We paid full price for a 3-day stay, and I find it unacceptable that the hotel simply left a note in our room the night before, informing us that a key amenity would be unavailable due to a private event. In practice, they sold the same space twice—that’s the reality. That decision negatively impacted a third of our stay. Simple as that. It's not what you'd expect from a hotel of this standard, though I must say that everything else was top quality.

A perfect retreat for our 9 year anniversary trip. The views are stunning and the location can’t be beat! We are dining on the beach for every meal. Wilbert, Armando, Robert, Marcos, and Enrique all made our meals so very special!! Mary kept our casita looking amazing. We loved spending our days on the beach and afternoons on our private hammocks on the palapa deck. The food at Fuego is amazing. I had ceviche at least once a day, haha!! Overall would definitely recommend Mahekal. Oh, and it’s dog friendly too so we were able to bring our pup along!!

The place is so peaceful and beautiful.. everyone is so nice and pleasant.. we had a great experience.. Marcos our waiter at las olas was so kind, every morning he would talked to us about the Mexican culture… Fernando our butler was so inviting..the place itself is very welcoming.. love...

My partner and I chose Mahekal Beach Resort for the combination of beach, jungle, pools, night life, and adventures, and it did not disappoint! We stayed in a private Oasis palapa which was just far enough away from all the action. Highly recommend the Revive Spa - the staff were...

My partner and I chose Mahekal Beach Resort for the combination of beach, jungle, pools, night life, and adventures, and it did not disappoint! We stayed in a private Oasis palapa which was just far enough away from all the action. Highly recommend the Revive Spa - the staff were very kind and communicative and the services were top quality - we even went twice. The concierge was also wonderful to work with! We had a particularly positive interaction with Cori who provided suggestions for the spa and was able to quickly coordinate a couples massage for my partner and I. Cori was also very attentive when we raised concerns about damage in the palapa roof in our room and was highly communicative while she coordinated with maintenance, even after her work hours! Overall positive experience - super clean, friendly and attentive staff, and a beautiful place.

Mahekal is our happy place! There have been quite a few changes since we had last been there over 10 years ago - some good, some a little disappointing. From a service standpoint - I would give them more than 5 stars if I could! The wait staff, in particular, are so friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel special. Huge shout out and thank you to: Ruben, Alberto, Manuel, Enrique and Roberto for taking such good care of us (again) and thanks, Ignacio, for the directions to the bus station. Thanks so much guys! The only reason I did not give a full 5 stars is that we felt the club music by the Itzi bar was a little obnoxious (our room was very close) and the beach seating was less than ideal. We realize there’s been a lot of beach erosion in recent years and the seaweed situation was out of their control, but the lack of comfortable chairs with palapas for us “second class” (non beach front room) folks was disappointing. We’ve heard they might be replacing some sand this year and if they do that and improve the beach chair situation, we would absolutely love to return. It’s still our favorite place we’ve stayed so far in Mexico.

Literally on the beach, palm trees and cafe lights, no ooncha ooncha, great food and service — rare for beachfront which is mostly overpriced tourist garbage. Very romantic spot, mix of Mexican and Mediterranean flavors, you pay a bit more but totally worth it.

Mahekal was an amazing experience for me and my fiance. Room - we got one of the more basic rooms and were really happy with it. It was clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the cleaning staff did a great job every day. Amenities - the pools are shallow...

Mahekal was an amazing experience for me and my fiance. Room - we got one of the more basic rooms and were really happy with it. It was clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the cleaning staff did a great job every day. Amenities - the pools are shallow but the two main pools which we stayed in were both clean and the water temperature was very nice considering how hot it is. The spa was very relaxing, we got the couples relaxing experience and were very pleased with the massage and service. Food/Bar - the only reason this review is not 5 stars is the restaurants were a bit disappointing. We did not get the all inclusive package as we wanted to eat at local restaurants more and were glad we did not opt for it. We had dinner at Fuego the first night we arrived and the majority of the meal was decent, but the scallops were extremely overcooked unfortunately. We got small snacks later in our trip from the other restaurant when spending the day at the pool, and were underwhelmed. The bar is great though, many a pina colada was enjoyed! Service - this is where I think Mahekal truly shined. The service was really great at this resort. We interacted with two concierge staff that deserve special recognition: Corinna (Cori) - we first reached out to her for help finding some good local restaurants. Her recommendations were helpful and we enjoyed two of the restaurants she listed. She also found out it was our honeymoon and sent a small gift to us unprompted. Daniel - the remainder of our trip we mainly stayed in contact with Daniel. He was prompt to respond, very respectful, and extremely friendly. He helped us numerous times with getting reservations, providing useful information about the area, booking transportation, and anything else we needed. Thanks to both of these amazing staff members, we are planning to return to Mahekal next year.
