We had an amazing time! The staff always went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great!! There are ample food choices and the restaurants did not disappoint. Our room was spacious, clean, beautiful and we had a gorgeous view of the Caribbean Sea. There was a good variety of daytime and evening entertainment. Will definitely return.

Although our particular room was noisy at times, the resort was clean, well appointed and well managed. The staff were all very friendly and willing to help whenever asked. The food at all the restaurants was above par and authentic. The setting is a beautiful spot right on the ocean...

Although our particular room was noisy at times, the resort was clean, well appointed and well managed. The staff were all very friendly and willing to help whenever asked. The food at all the restaurants was above par and authentic. The setting is a beautiful spot right on the ocean and the main pool was the center of activity supervised and lead by a great team of staff. The bars were well stocked and the the bartenders helpful and friendly. We, and the other 18 people in our group really enjoyed the experience.

Overall, the hotel is a good value. I'll start with the positives: The staff is fantastic. We had a great week and bonded with the pool entertainment staff. Mitzy and the guys were just a delight and made the pool a fun experience. Carlos, the chef, gave us fantastic service...

Mitzy and the guys were just a delight and made the pool a fun experience. Carlos, the chef, gave us fantastic service and always sought us out to say Hi. Hector at the El Zarape was just wonderful. Went above and beyond to make us have the best experience at the restaurant. He really made us feel special. Ricardo at the front desk was a delight upon check-in. We were not anywhere even close to our friends, however, even though he told us we were. But that was fine, we managed. We booked our supper reservations with Lizbeth, she was so sweet and made the process very smooth. Aaron at the entrance is just a delight! Always friendly and smiling. We can tell he is just a genuinely a happy person. Jorge, at the concierge desk, was wonderful. He speaks great English and helped us locate a chiropractor as my hubby's back went out on our first evening there. Jorge was such a peach to work with. (Search Victor Manuel if you need this service, he is wonderful and just a hop, skip and a jump from the Wyndham). The room was great, no complaints at all other than how long the walk was to our room. It was quite inconvenient being that far away from the elevators and main areas as we had to really plan our outings b/c it wasn't quick and easy to return to our room. But, the bed was comfy, the shower was big and hot, the water pressure was good. We loved the Beach bar and the swings. Felt so good to sit in the swings and feel the warm breeze and visit with new friends. We only attended a couple of the evening entertainment shows. They didn't thrill us but that could be because we're spoiled and have seen similar shows many times. We did enjoy karaoke nights, as my hubby loves to sing. The food was pretty good. I, personally, loved the Italian for the Parmesan chicken with fettuccine noodles. It was piping hot and tasted like it was sprinkled with magic. The Mexican was pretty good too. The Steakhouse didn't thrill me but I wasn't starving when we went so it was likely me and not them :) The buffet was decent. I'd say similar to every resort I've been to. The ice cream/coffee shop has THEE best Vanilla ice cream I've ever had. It tastes like real vanilla smells. The location is perfect if you want to walk to 5th Ave for shopping and eating. I personally, found it to be a little too much like a small Vegas and while in Mexico, I don't want Vegas style. We did love walking down the beach as far as we could and cutting up the sandy road to 5th Ave in the morning and it was a much quieter, sleepier, more authentic feel. Lots of places to eat breakfast or grab a coffee. Now for the not-so-positives, obviously the beach is a problem. It's non-existent. Being on the far end of the hotel, did put us easy walking distance to the beach in front of the Hilton. Which was much better, it was sandy and not rocky like Wyndham's. Not that it's a big deal, but the hair dryer in room 354, at least, was a joke. I'd still be there trying to dry my hair if I had wanted my whole head dry. It was like a $7 hair dryer from Walmart. The maid service was a little spotty. We used google to translate to ask for towels and washcloths and it was several times, we still did not get them. I'd have to run down the hall and borrow some off the carts. And I even tipped her and left a little gift to try to bribe her ;) The shower bottles with soap and shampoo were hokey too. Hard to get enough product out of them. The bathrobes aren't made for plus size folks. It would have been great to use them but not fluffy girl friendly. The Fire show is over priced. We paid $186 for the Fire Show and Steak and lobster dinner not knowing that anyone can watch the fire show and the steak is the same steak we'd get for free at the steakhouse. So essentially we paid $186 for lobster and a "better" seat but seats weren't bad no matter where you sat so we definitely would not do that again. Lesson learned. We didn't like that the liquor is cheap/yucky liquor. In the past we at least had the option to purchase better liquor but here, unless you buy the whole bottle, there's no upgrading to the top shelf stuff. They do have slightly better liquors in the cabinet if you ask for them ie, I was able to ask for Absolute vodka instead of well vodka. Not a huge improvement but better at least. We did notice a not so pleasant smell upon arrival, which I think is the seaweed?! However, on our last day it appeared that they were installing some sort of scent machines. Which I find sorta important, all the resorts I have been to seem to have their own "scent" which I love. All in all, I'd say this resort is priced right. Would we stay again, probably not but only because I want to stay everywhere once before I stay anywhere twice.

Loveliest staff. Food excellent... But why so pointlessly noisy. The staff on the microphone's could probably be heard in Cozumel. They could do with enforcing just a couple of rules. Not allowing guests to bring their own music to the quiet beach bar would be a good one. Small complaints...

Best staff I have ever met in any hotel I have ever been to.

All of the staff were amazing!! So Friendly and helpful!!The room was beautiful with an amazing view!! the food was alright, the bar service amazing. overall a really great experience!! Orlando hooked us up with a beautiful Valentines experience!! Thank you to all the staff

My partner and I have been to all-inclusives in the past and this has been the best one yet. We really enjoyed that it was a smaller resort located a short walk from 5th street, as opposed to an isolated resort. It gave us the opportunity to meet some really friendly locals. The staff were amazing, and it appeared they actually enjoyed working there. We were worried about the reviews about lack of available sun chairs, however, when we went around 1pm each day we had no issues. The buffet had a good number of options with slight variations each day. We read some negative reviews but we were consistently impressed by the quality of the food. The restaurant portions were perfect and ingredients fresh. We went to all 3 restaurants twice. The staff were very attentive, but the food was a little slow for two of the nights. Bar service was great. The amount of the alcohol per drink could be inconsistent at times, but no big deal. We were happy with the size and design of our room. The balcony also came with a hammock which was a nice surprise! We read the negatives reviews ahead of time about the beach and it helped us manage our expectations. We weren't terribly bothered by the smell of the seaweed and only noticed it a few times by the pool. There isnt much of a beach but a few minutes walk north you'll find some nice beaches. My partner went out on the town several nights as the resort entertainment stops at 10. The lobby tended to clear out shortly after, though not always. 5th street was a blast to experience during the day and at especially at night. You will be spoken to every minute or so by someone trying to sell you something, you need to keep walking and ignore them. Also, if you plan to shop you need to haggle. We were able to usually negotiate ~50% off the street vendors. We found the shops and restaurants as expensive if not more than back home. Be wary of the police, several people we spoken to on 5th street experienced being searched and having to give a bribe. It appears that they especially target black people. A local said he gets stopped all the time, and we saw a group of black tourists being searched in the middle of the day. Overall, we were really happy with the resort and staff. It was my partners first vacation in six years. Thank you for making it an amazing experience for us both!
