The view and location of this room are wonderful. You are just steps from the plaza and many choices for dining or shopping. Our view from our quite large balcony was fantastic. The staff are also very nice and helpful. The air conditioning works great and housekeeping kept the room very clean. A nice feature is a water cooler of filtered water in the lobby that you can use to refill your personal water bottle. The historic feel of the property is also nice.
The drawbacks -
The room is very basic, which is usually fine for my purposes. There were some negatives though. There is no phone to call the front desk if you have an issue. Our deadbolt had to be manhandled by my husband to lock into place. The beds are small and ROCK HARD. Seriously, these beds were like boards. I'm not picky, but it was very uncomfortable. Also, the pillows are extremely lumpy. The furniture is old and could use some updating, but the real issue for me was my inability to get a good night's sleep on the uncomfortable bed. For the price point of this hotel, you could have a nicer room elsewhere in town or a very nice airbnb.
The hotel is right on the beach, but actual access to the beach is complicated. You have to either walk through the independently owned/run restaurant on the property or go down to a little passage way where there is a small spa.

Great hotel at the first line
Small but cozy hotel right at the first beach line. Room was clean, with a huge balcony and amazing sea view. The restaurant at the ground floor had impressive choice of food and drinks. We enjoyed our stay there and can definitely recommend it

We just finished a wonderful 4 weeks at Hacienda. We love the location and the proximity to everything the town has to offer. The hotel has many updates every year that we have been coming This year the attractive dressers and wonderful padded chairs in our outdoor area were a big plus for us.We have never run out of hot water and complimentary coffee is served every morning by the entrance. The desk staff is excellent and Leslie took very good care of us. They all are all fluent in English and Spanish. Yes, next years reservation is in the books. Thanks Hacienda for another great year!

Clean enough room but very basic. Could be so much better with some improvements, especially in the bathrooms. The water in the shower had a strange smell. While we were there the room upstairs flooded all over next doors balcony. There is an 80s music bar opposite and the music can be heard in all the rooms until 2am. It would be just ok for half the price but for what we paid we were expecting a bit more. The pool was nice but hardly any loungers and we sat in plastic chairs.
On the plus side the staff are really nice and the restaurant and bar and communal areas are great (the restaurant is seperately owned and a much higher standard in all respects). The location is also very good.

Considering the price and the location for me it is the best hotel in downtown. The restaurant is good but a little pricey. Book a Premium room to get a big balcony.

We have been coming to Puerto Morelos for 12 years, except the year of the pandemic, and always stayed at Hacienda Morelos, it has everything we need, clean rooms, affordable price, comfortable beds, amazing ocean views, parking space (we always rent a car to go to many places, as we know already know many places we like to go to restaurants at the colonia or Cancun), and friendly staff. It is a small hotel, not fancy, not all inclusive, but I have seen the improvements in the property during the years and for me it is the best city hotel in the town.

Good location. Hotel is fine. Nice beach.
My issue is that I paid for a top level room that is supposed to have a refrigerator. Upon check in, none in room. They gave me a styrofoam cooler instead when I ask about it. I’m okay with that if no more working refrigerators. My issue is that they will not provide me any ice. They say they have none, even though hotel is attached to a restaurant (I think ran by a different company).
I’m fine with the cooler, but when I said they should provide me ice since no fridge, they said no. I have to go to grocery store daily and buy ice to keep water/etc. cold.
When complained at front desk they told me nothing they can do and to complain on line, so here you go!
I’m not high maintenance, but not provided ice & being told to go buy my own, and complain on line seems ridiculous.
:-(

Checking in was a breeze. We arrived early but was able to access our room 209. Views of the ocean are just incredible! Our room had a balcony about 10x10 with a table and chairs and two lounge chairs. The room was bright and very clean. 1 king size bed and a twin. The he king bed was very hard, like sleeping with n a box spring rather than a mattress. Not sure if all the beds are this hard. We spoke with Ezel Moreno at the front desk and he arranged for us to have a mattress topper which made a world of difference. There is plenty of closet space with a safe big enough for a laptop but I never felt the need to lock it up. There is always plenty of hot water for showering which was nice but no fan in the bathroom, there is a window in there which was nice. There is no coffee pot, fridge or bottled water in the room but there is a water dispenser and fresh coffee in the am in the lobby. As well as coolers to borrow if you feel the need. This hotel is split into two sections being decided with a lovely restaurant in the middle. This restaurant is a bit pricy but the view and open sea breeze is worth it. Food is very well prepared and is mainly sea food. In the evening there are mariachi bands that go from restaurant to restaurant so every nite they played there. Was nice in the evening to either enjoy them in the restaurant or just watch from our balcony. As I mentioned earlier the hotel is split into two sections to looking at the hotel from the street the section to the left has no direct access to the pool, you have to walk through the restaurant to get to it but it was not a big deal and staff doesn’t mind. The pool is very nice, clean and never crowded. There is lounge chairs but seemed not enough umbrellas. They do share the pool with the soba divers shop attached to the hotel so sometimes it can be a bit annoying as they kinda take over the lounge chairs even if ppl have their towels on them but all in all it was all good. The section to the left of the hotel is considered the quite side as the section to the right is closer to the karaoke bar across the street so even though we did not have direct access to the pool we were more than happy we stayed on the quiet side. The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of town with a large grocery store across the street, and so many great restaurants to choose from on the main strip and 1 street over. There are loads of street food vendors and on the weekends they have an open market in the town square. The location of this hotel is fantastic I can picture a big chain hotel being built in this spot, would be such a shame as this hotel for the money is truly a gem. If you do go to this quant and lovely hotel say hi to Ezel Moreno. He will look after your every need and will always greet you with a smile.

Very interesting reading previous reviews. We spent a lovely week here. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was obviously not high end, but neither was the price. It was clean, comfortable and sufficient. Unlike some, we found the beds very comfortable. Would have been nice if they had a few more English speaking channels on the TV. Location is second to none. 20 feet to the beach and many restaurants and bars within a short walk in safe neighborhoods. We felt no anti-American sentiment while in Mexico, and joked with the help about the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico by our idiot president.
I would definitely return to this charming and very affordable hotel.
