The Fives Oceanfront Riviera Maya

We had the best room at this hotel - a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite - it was absolutely enormous - had a fantastic balcony with loungers and a hot tub - great size lounge and kitchen - the walk in bathroom / dressing room was amazing. It's not cheap but definitely worth it. There are 2 pools at the hotel - one at beach level which has nice vibes and cocktails - and a rooftop one that is serene and a heat trap - it is adults only. Restaurant is beachfront and the included breakfast was very lovely. There are beachside loungers and the sea walls do some work towards keeping the seaweed out during low season - however sometimes the smell can be very pungent! So why only 4 stars? Mainly due to a few of the staff. The beach staff are not good at all - it takes time for someone to come and take your drink order - also they aren't happy if you ask them for a towel - you need to hunt one down for yourself. In addition - they seemed to think it was OK to drop the umbrellas and allow all our stuff to get soaked through - including a book and a phone while we went to the pool for 10 minutes. When complaining to Marilise at front desk - she simply shrugged and said 'it happens' A couldn't give a sh*t attitude. When pushed she said she would have to check the cameras ( surely us telling her should be enough). She then ignored us whenever we saw her. On confronting her on our last day - she pretended not to recognise us! So unprofessional. I left a comment about this on their comments card - apparently no one else cares either! So when things are good they are good - but when they are bad - go see someone else.........

My husband and I had the honor of visiting the Fives for our anniversary for 4 nights. We have nothing but amazing things to say about this little resort. At check-in, Alejandra was the most welcoming and started our stay off perfectly. We weren't asked to sign up for anything or pressured which was nice. We had a welcome drink and cold towel. The food and atmosphere was amazing every day, we had the all inclusive package and the value was great. The highlight of our stay was getting to meet Arturo. He was mainly working at the rooftop bar during our stay and was such a pleasure to visit with. His service was attentive and the drinks were all great. We made sure to say bye before we left. We had an ocean view room and it was clean and well air conditioned especially during the very hot month of July. The fridge was stocked with beer and soda and waters daily. The beds were one of the most comfortable we've slept in while visiting Mexico as well. The bedding was like a cloud. Although the seaweed was the most we've seen when visiting Cancun, there were crews working endlessly to clear it up as much as they could every day. That didn't hinder our experience though. This resort was the closest to town that we've stayed and we were able to walk to a lot of little shops and restaurants. We didn't bring our child but we did see a lot of families. There might not be as much to do for kids but it was still a nice, calm atmosphere especially for younger kids. We don't know when we'll be able to travel back but we'll never forget this resort. We had a lovely big suite for a 5-night all-inclusive stay. The pool is beautiful and both restaurants were excellent. Menus were sufficiently big to provide good choices and quality was great. Breakfast service was awfully slow, though, which was surprising since it was early in the morning with no crowd. Staff throughout the hotel very helpful and friendly. Location is nice -- right on the beach at the end of a quiet street, just a mile walk into town. The town was charming. There's a fine bookstore, every store you might need, pop-up craft vendors, and a good Mexican Street Corn vendor in the town square.

Everything was perfect. The staff was very attentive. The service ...excellent. The hotel isn't brand new but well kept. Some details like paint the bathroom is ready to be updated, but the facilities were excellent. I really loved walking into the main square about a 10-minute walk to get of the resort. It was really clean and peaceful. The food was excellent.

We had a great experience during our vacation, the service is what makes this hotel special. From our ambassador Mario that was attentive to all our needs. We loved spending time at the beach and the staff was great making sure we had food and drinks the beach staff get 12 out of 10 thank you Ian y Abraham! At the Spa I had amazing services. Thank you Noe for the professional and attentive service. The food and Drinks quality is very good offering a good selection of plates and the restaurant staff is great. Francisco, Eliel, Mizael and Felix made our experience memorable. For sure we are returning soon

We stayed at the Fives Oceanfront in Puerto Morelos in April after having spent a week at the El Cid Resort just down the road. We felt our shoulders drop going into The Fives, such a relief to be in a smaller quieter resort where the Staff take an interest in you from check in on. While this resort is small it is mighty and has all of the amenities that we were looking for. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was supper comfy. The three restaurants were great and if you are looking for some more verity the town of Puerto Morales is a 5-10 minute stroll away. We will be back for sure.

The hotel's location is perfect. From the moment we walked in, I felt the stress of the city melt away. Professional and knowledgeable front desk staff welcomed us (shout out to Lilia and Mario). Our oceanfront suite was very well curated , clean and quite lovely. Listening to the waves at night was so soothing. On our last day, we had a memorable experience at the spa, Maria and Alfredo were fantastic! We are still dreaming about the fabulous time we had in Puerto Morelos! The Horstmanns from NY

The hotel itself is lovely — the perfect size, not too big and not too small — and it’s perfectly situated. The beach was clean and well protected from the sargassum, which made it even more enjoyable. The food was fantastic, the drinks were fantastic, and the staff were fantastic. Everything was really, really good from start to finish. I honestly wouldn’t ask for any improvements other than to keep doing the great job you’re already doing.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely incredible from beginning to end. The property itself is stunning — beautifully designed, spotless, relaxing, and full of charm. Every area of the hotel felt luxurious and welcoming, making it such a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy our trip. What truly made the experience unforgettable, though, was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was kind, professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and taken care of, and their hospitality made such a huge difference in our stay. It’s rare to find a team that is this warm and dedicated. We could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone looking for exceptional service and an amazing stay!

Couldn’t not have had a nicer stay at a more reasonable price. The stay was perfect, a one bedroom oceanfront room as advertised. Hospitality team was on point. Yes, there IS a very slight sales pitch but the team is very understanding in terms of your needs during your stay. Only had the bed and breakfast plan so only ate in the morning there at the resort. Beach was lovely and very well maintained via a vie the sargassum. ZERO smell and look, it’s a freakin’ ocean. Room was super clean and very well maintained. Need service a couple of times and the staff was very responsive. We rented car and used the valet the whole stay and they were super friendly. The resort is gorgeous, small, very laid back and just what we wanted. I’d go back again in a heartbeat. Highly highly recommended if you want to avoid the crowds of Cancun and Playa. A total winner.

This was our first time in Mexico and we're so glad we decided to visit Puerto Morelos. The Fives Oceanfront was amazing! We stayed in a 1-bedroom suite that included a full kitchen and oceanview balcony. The hotel was beautiful and clean. It was the perfect time to visit because it wasn't crowded and every guest we encountered seemed to be enjoying their stay. The staff was very attentive to our needs. Julio was especially helpful with answering all of our questions and making us feel welcome. We ate at 3 restaurants and the salmon and fettuccine alfredo were our favorite dishes. During our stay, we walked along the serene beach and in the town where we bought souvenirs. There was no pressure to buy anything and the locals were so nice. We also ate at a local bar and the food was terrific. We have no complaints and are looking forward to returning in the near future.

I have been to the Fives twice and it is perfect for a short trip when all you want is sunshine, beach, pool, and good food! The food is excellent! The spa services and massages are great, and the rooms are so nice and spacious. All of the staff is so kind and friendly. I also did morning yoga and did the afternoon craft, Gustavo does great activities. I can't believe how affordable this boutique hotel is. It also is so nice that you can walk into the cute little town and see locals, its such a nice little dead end street and so close to the airport too. I highly recommend The Fives if you are on a trip where you don't need a lot of entertainment or activities.

My wife and I had a fantastic time. The service staff was outstanding. Our only issue was we never knew what was open, ie., right after we arrived al mare wasn’t open for dinner so we had dinner downstairs, went to rooftop pool Thursday only to find closed for 2 days for an event. Had dinner reservations for monday evening at Al mare, we made the reservation while there for dinner Sunday, we were on the inclusive package, only to show up Monday and it was closed so we were downstairs again. Again, service staff was excellent, we just never knew what, bar/ restaurant was going to be open and when. We were just disappointed we could not utilize all of the amenities while we were there. Service staff. Outstanding.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at The Fives. It was not what we expected but exactly what we needed. Instead of the active partying style resort, it was very quiet and serene. The pool and beach area is small but so beautiful, quiet and peaceful that it could not have been better. They do a great job of keeping the beach clean and there were always clean towels available as well as beach beds with umbrellas with a beautiful view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and service were outstanding and the view from the restaurants breath taking with wonderful breezes on the balconies. The only issue we had was the room did not have hot water for showers so we regretted that we didn’t take them up on an upgraded room. We did a couple of excursions but snorkeling the coral reef right out in front of the resort was the best. Beautiful coral with wide variety of types of coral including fans, lots of fish and even turtles swimming with us.

The Fives was a great place to relax and unwind in a serene environment. The beaches and pools were meticulously maintained, and there was always an empty lounger available to use. Room 504 was spacious, clean, quiet, well stocked with supplies., and kept immaculately by our housekeeper. The rooms double balcony provided a beautiful view of the ocean and the main pool while we sipped our coffees in the morning. The food and drinks were excellent and exceeded our expectations. All the staff that served us in every capacity from check in to check out were professional and caring in their duties. Miguel, Elvis, Ian, Giovanni and Stefony were staff that stood out to us, and made our stay one to remember. We will be back.
