The Emerald Resort is the best resort out of the many in the Maldives. A variety of delicious restaurants, water activity, and an amazing spa and facility made us so happy. What made the Emerald Resort so special was the warm hospitality of the staff. In particular, our butler, ⭐️Jien⭐️, was lovely and kind. She was kind to our demanding requests and didn't forget her kind smile. Her handwritten letter also touched us, and thanks to her, we were able to have the most wonderful honeymoon in the world. We are willing to revisit and are confident that it is the best resort for lovers and family to come from the Maldives. We really recommend it.

The villas are stunning and impeccably clean, the sea is simply unbeatable, the restaurants are excellent, and the extra experiences are truly amazing. The staff’s kindness and attentiveness are on another level — you feel pampered from the very first moment. The resort’s attention to detail is remarkable, from the fully equipped rooms to the thoughtful touches like complimentary beach bags and swimwear for guests. We were especially lucky to have Wisham as our villa host — he took care of us throughout our stay, always going above and beyond. He was kind, professional, and attentive to our needs, always present without ever being intrusive. His presence made our stay even more magical, especially with the romantic surprises he arranged for us. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I recently travelled to Maldives for honeymoon and stayed at Emerald Maldives Resort and Spa. I could say it was an exceptional experience. The room I stayed was Jacuzzi water villa. It was very clean and tidy. I particularly appreciated the spacious jacuzzi in my room. I always dipped in the jacuzzi after swimming and it could make me feel so relaxed. I also enjoyed the view in my room. I could see many fishes, sea rays and even once a turtle in the sea. It was an unforgettable experience. There were four restaurants in the resort and a wide variety of food was provided. I especially enjoyed the grilled steak in Amazonico. It was really tasty and I would definitely revisit the restaurant when I stay at the resort next time. The hospitality at the resort was outstanding. Special thanks to Wisham who was my butler during my stay. He was always attentive and helpful. When he knew it was my honeymoon trip, he decorated my room with flowers and offered a beautiful chocolate cake. It could definitely made my honeymoon unforgettable. In general, my experience at Emerald Maldives Resort and Spa exceeded my expectation and I really had a good time during my stay.

We as a couple have travelled a lot in this world, but without a doubt, this ‘Emerald Island’ is an absolute world-class oasis of well-being, (no matter whether you are on the water or in the beach villas, you hardly see anyone during the day because this natural island is so big), from the warm welcome, the top briefing with immediate help if you had any questions, to the world-class spa team under the direction of Julie, who with her super team finds every imaginable massage, the 4 x themed restaurants with the most varied offers, local and worldwide cuisine and of course drinks, what the nice waiters and of course the chefs prepare, a culinary delight for everyone, in the evening quickly to the relax bar area, dancing with or without shisha, and during the day to the amazing beaches and snorkelling right outside the door, thanks a lot to resort manager Rohit , and of course our contact person Shafiu,and all the nice and friendly employees , we made so many amazing contacts

From the moment we had collected our baggage at Male airport, the Emerald staff excelled in many ways. The passage through to the seaplane terminal was handled smoothly and efficiently and, on our arrival to the resort, we were greeted by, Rohit, the General Manager who made it clear that...

From the moment we had collected our baggage at Male airport, the Emerald staff excelled in many ways. The passage through to the seaplane terminal was handled smoothly and efficiently and, on our arrival to the resort, we were greeted by, Rohit, the General Manager who made it clear that our patronage was valued and not to hesitate if we felt the need to contact him. Our water villa host (butler) Shafiu dealt with any request promptly and made contact on numerous occasions to check that our needs were being accommodated. The water villa itself was superb and incredibly spacious. It was also cleaned to a very high standard and twice a day at that! Soft pillows were provided immediately on request. Piece of advice here, for privacy, try to get a villa numbered higher than, say, 315. It seems unfair to single out individual members of staff because all, without exception, greeted us with a smile and seemed genuinely pleased to be of service to us. However, Nitin and Bandey in the restaurants went beyond what one might expect and Angel's smile at breakfast was a great start to the day. It was pleasurable to discuss the extensive wine list with the sommeliers (Raj in particular) who displayed the obvious passion for the subject without the pomposity often experienced in the UK. For those interested in exercise, the gym was first class as were the floodlit tennis and paddle courts. Water sports activity were encouraged by Hussein and his cheerful and willing team and we both learnt to paddleboard during our stay. A really relaxing break and one from which we returned in a refreshed state despite the efforts of BA to spoil things with astonishingly poor and often rude onboard service (Nicole, you are definitely in the wrong job) and lengthy luggage production at Terminal 5. How could the Emerald improve? Possibly the depth and variety of menu at the a la carte restaurant. That might be a little picky though.

The gold leaf sommelier who cracked our favourite wine within the 1st day, so knowledgeable, we loved his whisky top tips!. He worked in Aqua restaurant. The island itself was unspoilt, paradise, imagine no plans, no decisions to make. Aiman our dedicated assistant was so helpful, setting our itinerary every day and assisting with any additional services required. We stayed in a water bungalow, so spacious! You van do as little or as much as you want, lots of facilities to keep you busy. It was our honeymoon, absolute first choice of island, lots of little extra special touches from cake, to prosecco, to bed turn down service. Our only regret is we didn't stay longer, after 5 days we went to Dubai, wish we had stayed for the full 10 nights, we will be back!

We were amazed by the scenery and view under the sea outside AQUA (it was a nice snorkeling spot indeed). Most importantly, it was glad to meet our fantastic villa host, Jien. The dinning and activities schedule were well organized even during the peak season before our check in, she was also able to take care of our illness on the island during holiday.

We had a wonderful experience at Emerald Maldives. The view was breathtaking The stay was very comforting and the hospitality was amazing The stay was filled with sunshines, smiles amd unforgettable moments. A special shoutout to Jein for taking utmost care of us and making us feel like home.

We definitely had wonderful time in the resort. All the staff there are friendly and helpful! We felt having been taken care so well since we landed from the seaplane. Our villa host Jien had already reserved different restaurants for us before we arrived, so that we had chances to try all the restaurants. We do appreciate that! Though we had some medical situation, Jien came to pick up us to the clinic immediately. We were also amazed by the environment in the resort. Everywhere including the public toilets in the restaurants are so clean. We had a gala dinner at night at the beach, there is no mosquitoes at all!! We undoubtedly would like to visit it again. However, we had around 3 hours between the seaplane and our international flight. we were told that we could stay in TMA lounge and wait for our international flight. But when we got off the seaplane, the female staff sent us to the international airport right away without asking our preference of staying in TMA lounge or not. Instead, she introduced a non-resort staff to us and recommended us to go for a city tour which is unprofessional and not well-organised one. So think twice before you join the tour. If you would like to stay in the TMA lounge waiting for your international flight, please inform the staff right after you got off the seaplane. Other than the airport staff, everything in the resort is so perfect. Thank you for the lovely stay!

We visited in January 2025 for our honeymoon and frankly we couldn't have asked for anything more. You are greeted at the airport by a member of the hotel team and taken to the seaplane check in,please bear in mind that the Maximum combined weight of one person's luggage can only be 25kg ( 20kg for your main case and 5kg for your hand luggage) to avoid any charges. Once through we were taken to a private transfer bus for the ride to the seaplane terminal, whilst on we were encouraged to complete the check in procedure using the buses wifi, this saves time once you arrive at the Island. Once the app is downloaded check in is quick and you can also start to look at the facilities....we had our restaurants pre booked already ! The wait at the seaplane terminal was a couple of hours, but we were escorted there, there is complimentary food and drink available and the time soon passed. We were then escorted to the seaplane and had an amazing 45 minute flight, looking at all the other islands as you overfly them. Once landed we were greeted by members of staff with a cold drink, a cold flannel to freshen up, and the resort manager introduced himself personally to each person.....the personal touch ! We were also introduced to our villa host- Elena. She took us for a tour round the island to help us get our bearings then dropped us at our villa. We had elected to start with a beach villa then move to an overwater one later in our stay. To say our villa was stunning was an understatement, the room was huge and the bathroom just as big. We even had our own private jetty !! The superlatives carried on from there, the towels were amazing, you had everything you could ask for in the mini bar and the bathroom amenities. We ate in every restaurant bar the Tepinyaki ( due to an allergy i have) and each restaurant was just amazing with food to die for and a somellier to pair wines to your chosen dishes. Even the " buffet" restaurant felt more like an a la carte than the usual grab it and hope that some resorts go for! We were lucky enough to arrange a vow renewal service on the beach and the whole process was faultless...from my initial enquiry right up until the actual service. Once again Elana was amazing in looking after us. We had been approached prior by the special event co-ordinator Loki, who went through the menu and changed dishes we didn't like to sound of, and was there on the beach with us on the day. He and his team made the day feel as special as our wedding day in the UK and the meal that we had in our very own " light tee-pee" on the beach was one of the best I've ever had. Our change in rooms was seamless and we spent lazy days in the water or on the beach. The house reef by the Sunrise cafe is the place to snorkel. We had 12 days in Emerald, but could have easily had double. If you are thinking of booking, my advice is don't hesitate ...do it! The staff are all amazing and if you want to talk they will really open up about their lives. There are far to many people to thank but Yashi the somellier, Mabee our wonderful waiter and Shuaib our room cleaner and creator of stunning towel and flower art an stood out above everyone. Elana went above and beyond for our entire stay, texting us in the morning to make sure we were OK, reminding us of restaurant bookings and swapping them wherever she could if we wanted to change the order we ate in them....and even doing up my wife's wedding dress!! Thank you to everyone for making our honeymoon special and our vow day magical. The memories made will last a lifetime.

In March, my spouse and I had the most incredible honeymoon at **Emerald Resort & Spa** for six nights. From the moment we arrived in the Maldives to the seamless transfer to the resort, everything was impeccably arranged. The resort staff was extremely attentive, making sure our journey was smooth and stress-free. The seaplane transfer was well-organized, and the moment we stepped onto the island, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. Our dedicated butler, **Shafi**, greeted us with a "Hello" in Korean and ensured that we had a smooth check-in process while introducing us to the resort's amenities. We stayed **two nights in a Beach Villa** and **four nights in a Water Villa**, each offering a unique and memorable experience. The **Beach Villa** was private and provided easy access to the ocean, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling. On the other hand, the **Water Villa** was nothing short of a paradise, allowing us to wake up to stunning ocean views and take a swim directly from our deck. Both accommodations were spacious, immaculately maintained, and beautifully designed, complete with a well-stocked minibar, complimentary champagne, and a fruit platter upon arrival. Dining at Emerald Resort exceeded our expectations. We had the opportunity to try various restaurants, each offering unique and exquisite cuisine. **Aqua Restaurant**, **Beach Club Grill**, **Asiatique Restaurant**, and **Amazonico Restaurant** all provided exceptional dining experiences. The **honeymoon dinner on the beach** and the **teppanyaki show at Asiatique** were highlights of our stay. The sommeliers recommended excellent wine pairings, which enhanced our meals even further. Among the many activities we enjoyed, the **Coral Garden snorkeling tour** stood out the most. We felt like we were floating through an otherworldly underwater paradise, surrounded by vibrant marine life. We were incredibly lucky to spot sea turtles twice! Although we couldn’t see dolphins on the **Lucky Dolphin Cruise**, the boat ride itself was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Additionally, the **honeymoon couple’s massage** and a **professional photo session** made our trip even more special. Throughout our stay, every staff member greeted us with warm smiles, ensuring that we felt welcomed and comfortable at all times. Shafi, in particular, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, making our honeymoon truly unforgettable. Just returned from the most amazing Honeymoon. From the moment you step off the plane to when you leave (which you will not wish to do) you experience the most amazing people who look after you throughout - Aiman, Nitin, Shivam, Raj, OM, Cise and many others. There is nothing they will not do to make sure your stay is the best it can be - and all the little extras as it was our honeymoon were appreciated. There is nothing to fault this location and the diving team made our trips memorable also - turtles, Manta, Dolphins...the food is amazing and choice phenomenal, and you get crystal clear waters to swim in everyday and you will definitely have a relaxed stay. We can't wait to return.

This was my 7th visit to the Maldives, and was the best experience yet. Its a shame I can only give this resort 10 out of 10 as his resort has got everything right using any criteria you might wish to comment on - staff, location, food, accommodation, entertainment and attention to detail. The staff are universally polite and helpful, the location is paradise, the quality of the food is excellent (don't miss the Gala Dinner) the rooms perfectly manicured and maintained and the entertainment and activities hit just the right note. I have no hesitation in recommending this resort to anyone thinking of visiting the Maldives

The staff were exceptional. Nothing was too difficult for them, their attention to detail was amazing and they went above and beyond every day. They made our holiday and it will be one we will never forget. There are too many people to thank but a particular mention to Aiman who helped us with any thing throughout the stay and the water sports team for sorting some magical trips. Our highlight was swimming with turtles and then jet skiing with a huge pod of dolphins! We would come back again straight away if we could!

Just a week back from a wonderful stay at this exceptional resort. From the moment we touched down to when we departed all aspects of our stay were truly outstanding. We stayed in a water villa less pool but that was no inconvenience as we used the warm and inviting Indian Ocean as our go to for a dip several times a day. The snorkeling right off the villa was exceptional with lots of marine life paying us a visit, eagle rays, sting rays and even a turtle not to mention the three times we were lucky enough to see dolphins in the distance. The dining facilities were all excellent and we were spoilt for choice be it at breakfast , lunch or dinner. A special mention for KD and his wonderful team across all the restaurants , KD was ever present and on hand to support and stop by to say hello. All the staff we encountered were exemplary and a credit to the Emerald resort. We found them to be kind, responsive, professional and all tinged with a great sense of humour. Impossible to remember the names of all the staff that made our stay special however Azu, Naresh, Raj, Nitin, Giri and Meraj come to mind as well as the knowledgeable sommeliers Shivam and Jai. Not forgetting OM and his daily ‘eggs benedict’ offering and Jameel who kept our villa spotless. From the time we were met at Male airport by a resort staff member to the time we left, we were treated and felt like VIPs. We stayed in a water villa with pool - wonderful. In all the restaurants (our favourite was the Beach grill), the food was delicious everywhere. As well as the natural beauty of the island what really made the holiday special were the amazing staff, all of them, but special mention to Aiman, our personal concierge for your exceptional attention, Shivam our favourite Sommelier, Azim, Giri, Shihia (best buggy driver) and Nazwan our villa attendant Thank you so much Emerald for making dreams come true

We arrived Monday the 10th March for 7 nights. From arriving into Male Airport, not knowing where to go or do, wonderfully we were greeted by our own Emerald greeter that was going to exclusively escort us through the airport, transfers and accompany us getting the seaplane to the resort, the level of service was exceptional! As soon as we arrived at Emerald Sid our Butler welcomed us and was our host for the duration of our stay. Courteous, very pleasant and observant, he couldn’t have done anymore for us. The level of service was easy 5 star. It was our 10 year wedding anniversary so booked the water villa with a pool #318. This was outstanding. The size of the villa was unbelievable and the bathroom was amazing. Wakening up to that view was breathtaking!!.....everything is in HD plus! The staff in the resort are the most friendly, we wanted to mention a few other staff that really stood out on our stay. Nabee served us breakfast every morning and was on point everytime, very friendly and helpful, great for the mornings. Giri was fantastic serving us lunch every day in the beach Bar Grill, Jai & Shivam were always on hand for a drink and specialised in your own pallet for your best wine choice for you which was a lovely touch. Samah seemed to be everywhere, always on hand for a chat and basically anything you need, along with Ahmeed serving cocktails in aqua beach hut on our daily island walk. We could really go on because everyone were a credit to their work. We planted our own coconut tree for our anniversary and it was organized so swiftly without fuss along with posting a 6 month remembrance card to ourselves which was also a cool touch. We got to take a look at beach villa to see the comparison and whilst there is the difference in water and sand, the beach villa itself is still a stunning piece of work throughout…..pure luxury, would definitely try too! When the guys know your leaving they understand your leaving somewhere you don’t really want to, and really want you to experience everything to the max right to the end…….upon getting the seaplane away we had a leaving party made up of our fantastic host Sid, and various other staff to say goodbye……just another example of endless thoughtfulness of this wonderful staff throughout that made a truly magical experience upon Emerald Island To the resort owners…..coming from business owner couple…..your staff are nothing short of exemplary…. attitude, desire and pride in their work for themselves and their Emerald island is admirable and is the main aspect that would bring us back. We spent an amazing 8 days at the Emerald Maldives Resort. From the very first moment you step onto the island, you immediately forget about the long journey and start enjoying every single moment. The warm welcome and personalized buggy ride with your names is already a sign that everyone is doing their best to make your stay unforgettable. Throughout your stay, you have a dedicated assistant available for all your needs, reminding you of your booked daily activities and restaurant reservations. I would like to personally thank Ramses, who took excellent care of us during our entire stay. All the restaurants are truly wonderful, but our favorite was Asiatique. The resort itself is beautiful, the villas are tastefully and modernly furnished, and the L’Occitane toiletries were a lovely touch. The sea and the coral reef surrounding Fasmendhoo Island are a paradise for snorkeling. Besides the usual beautifully colored fish, we saw a small shark, a manta ray, dolphins, and even a turtle during a snorkeling trip – amazing! I recommend choosing a beach villa on the opposite side of the island from the water villas – it's a great location, close to the main restaurant where breakfast and lunch are served, and also near the Sunrise Bar. We stayed in Jacuzzi Villa 226, which had great privacy, an almost private beach, and excellent conditions for snorkeling. I celebrated my birthday there and was pleasantly surprised with a bottle of Prosecco and a beautifully decorated bed – it really made my day. The staff are fantastic, friendly, and helpful, and I felt truly comfortable and welcome here. If I ever return to the Maldives, I would definitely choose this paradise resort again.

This was our second visit to Emerald and honestly, it probably beat our first amazing trip. It was lovely to re-connect with so many friendly faces from last year and the standards across the board remained impeccably high throughout our whole stay. From the moment we passed through customs, the Emerald team handled every step with meticulous care. The team arranged for us to have the same room as we had last year for our Honeymoon - a wonderful touch which set the tone for everything that followed over the next 10 days. There were so many surprises (which I won’t ruin for others) - we were truly pampered. Thankfully not much has changed over the past year, but little enhancements are constantly being made (hammocks on the beach or enhanced snacks in the room for example) to ensure Emerald remains on top of its game. The food, range of drinks, accommodation, spa, activities and generally the entire island remain exceptional throughout…. You simply relax and allow the team to take care of you. Between the House Reef, the lagoon and a couple of trips, we saw dozens of dolphins up close, swam above beautiful Mantas, had numerous encounters with eagle rays from our deck, swam alongside reef sharks and saw more species of fish than I could possibly name - all in crystal clear waters. As with last year, it really is the Team that elevates Emerald to being so exceptional. Honestly everyone went above and beyond and take such pride in providing the best service possible. There are however a few people that we want to individually recognise: Villa We were very fortunate to be assigned to Sid as our Villa Host - Sid is such a friendly person and handled everything superbly whilst regularly checking in on us to make sure everything was in order. Looking after our Villa was Naeem… from the moment he stopped by to introduce himself on our first day, Naeem did so much for us and made sure our villa was immaculate at all times. He even went out of his way to surprise us with a lovely gift for our anniversary - totally unexpected and unnecessary, but a fantastic touch. Behind the scenes One of the things we were keen to do this year was the “Heart of the House Tour”. We can’t recommended this enough… understanding how this little slice of paradise works is fascinating, whilst Laxman’s knowledge and passion for the engineering was astounding and between himself and Charuka, they provided an unforgettable tour. Restaurants The variety and quality of food is stunning throughout (thanks to all the chefs) - besides which, there can’t be many better places to eat lunch in the world than sitting at the Beach Grill looking out across the crystal clear waters. Nitin, Raj, Chef Jimmy, Giri, Rahul and Samah (who’s shocked face when he first saw us again was so heart warming) are friendly faces from last year who yet again made us laugh, took great care of us and generally enhanced our experience on a regular basis…. We also met some wonderful new people too in Azu, Harish, Pandey, and Kavindu - all of whom were fantastic from the outset. A special mention to Souata in the Beach Grill… 2 weeks into his time at Emerald and always stopped by to say hello and did everything with the biggest smile at all times. No restaurant experience at Emerald is complete without the wonderful Sommelier Team. Jai and Yashi are great and introduced us to some fantastic wines with detailed knowledge to bring the options to life. But a big thank you to Shivam - who for the second year in a row took exceptional care of us…. Where you found that Rimapere I will never know! Bars We were spoiled by the team in the Sunset Bar literally every day. Not just by the drinks, but the laughter and stories and leaf art which is mind-blowing…. There is no better way to end a day than with the team at the Sunset Bar. The fabulous Ali and Antony - I dread to think how many different cocktails you conjured up, every one a new highlight! Ably supported by the team including the always friendly Azim… just the best of memories all round. Other The spa area is stunning and the treatments really add to the relaxation. Dina and Daisy provided great massages, removing all the remaining life stresses to set us up for the rest of our holiday. Finally, for the second year in a row Viam became our regular buggy driver. Still the friendliest person you will ever meet, always smiling and taking care of you. But going out of his way to teach us how to make stars from a palm leaf - thank you again! Mr Rohit - thank you to you and your entire team for the most wonderful “welcome home” and 10 days in paradise. We can’t wait to return again, but in the meantime, anyone looking to book - just do it, it will be one of the best decisions you will ever make!

Had booked this a year ahead, mainly seeing it being voted the #1 all inclusive in the World on Trip Advisor. Part of a longer holiday, our trip to Emerald was always intended to be both relaxing and the highlight. When we landed in Male we were greeted by Emerald staff who helped get us scheduled onto the sea plane and took us to the complimentary lounge as we waited. Our flight around 40 minutes. On arrival at Emerald we were greeted by their GM and a number of other members of staff, including our host for everything we needed, Ramses. I have never known levels of responsiveness of service than those delivered by Ramses. He was on everything. Faultless. We were taken to our over water villa by buggy. It was located to the far end of the jetty and about a 10 minute walk to the 1st set of restaurants and bar. When we walked in we were hit with a fantastic large room and equal sized bathroom, both looking out across the deck to the Indian Ocean. On the deck a couple of sun loungers, table and chairs, sit on deck net and outside shower. The latter great to use after you’ve finished floating in the ocean off your deck. Back in the room everything was immaculate and we had everything we needed. Daily refills of the mini bar happened without prompting. Huge shower, safe, adaptors, robes, slippers, flip flops, beach bag and a huge comfy bed. We also had the use of room numbered bicycles for those with balance and, for GF, a tricycle!! She loved it. What a great way to get around when the alcohol intake was a little bit lower. On the restaurant front our favourite was probably L’Asiatique where we had a great Asian meal on our final night. It does however get a bit warm in there and there is limited air-con in all eating areas (most being outdoor dining). On another night theTeppanyaki was entertaining but a little strange to eat vegetables, then rice and then meat at different intervals. Amazonico was also open air with a focus on South America. The Beach Grill we used a few times for lunch and our one evening visit coincided with us being given a fantastic beach table to just add to the experience. For other meals Aqua provided the platform for buffets with good choice and quality, including an Indian themed night and the Gala Dinner (where lobster comes into “all inclusive” play). Bars and entertainment are very low key. The sunrise bar was very quiet, despite the pleasant charm of barman Ahmed. It was nice to sit on the swings and contemplate the drinks list. Closed at night. The main bar is the Sunset bar, which again was rarely busy and entertainment didn’t kick in until 10pm, usually in the form of a DJ (often way past my allowed bed time). Drinks choice throughout resort is amazing. Only when downloading the app a week before travelling did I realise around 50 wines (including a Champagne and 3 Provence roses) were included. There are chargeable options too but surely nobody needs them. For the fitties there was a decent sized air conditioned gym, tennis court, 2 paddel courts and a small football pitch. GF tried the gym a few times and we even set the alarm to play paddel (our rules) twice. We also used the spa a couple of times, combining a small steam room, sauna and outdoor hot tub, the latter in the middle of a koi carp pond. Both times we went were the only ones there. Then GF returned 1 day for a ‘sculpture’ massage which she raved about. Julie and the spa team were so warm and friendly. Included in our stay was 1 complimentary boat trip so we headed off looking for dolphins and were lucky to see so many. Advertised as a resort for couples and families it seems to work for both, as long as your priority is to chill in amazing surroundings. A week of saying “wow” out loud quite a bit in a beautiful resort with the most amazing hosts. Priceless.

The perfect Honeymoon - everything was absolutely fantastic!! We would highly recommend this resort. Main Points All staff were absolutely fantastic – especially Kristy (our Villa host), Jai and Shivan (Sommeliers). The General Manager, Rohit was very friendly and always available/checking all was ok. We met him several times during our stay and enjoyed our chats with him. We felt that the staff couldn’t have been better and are a credit to this resort. Arrival at Male Airport Once we had gone through security at Male airport, we were greeted by a representative from Emerald, who helped us to get to the seaplane check in desk. We checked our luggage in and then were put on an air conditioned minibus to the seaplane terminal. The bus had wifi so we downloaded the Emerald App and checked in to say that we had arrived. Upon arrival there, we were taken to the lounge and had approx. 1 hour there before boarding. This was seamless and stress-free. Baggage To note, the weight limit for cases is 20kg – 1 case per person, anything over this is charged at USD $5 per additional KG), which isn’t a lot. Arrival at Emerald We were the second stop on the SeaPlane, it took about 50 mins in total to get from Male airport to the resort. Upon arrival, several members of the team were there to give us a warm welcome and cold glass of champagne. We were greeted by our Villa host, Kristy who took us on a golf cart for an island tour and then to our overwater villa (with pool). Kristy told us about the island, then showed us around our room and how to use the Emerald App. She explained that all dinner reservations, etc were shown on here and could either be booked and managed through her, or the app by doing it ourselves. We had the honeymoon package, which included a photoshoot, special dinner on the beach and couples massage. Room (Over water Villa with Pool) The room was absolutely fantastic – extremely spacious (with an even bigger bathroom), separate toilet and large wardrobe area. There is also a safe, fully stocked mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities. The room was extremely clean and well decorated. Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash, as well as other amenities (sewing kit, toothbrushes, body lotion, towels, robes) are all provided in the bathroom. The balcony was incredible – the infinity pool was our favourite part about the villa and was always a good temperature. The only slight negative was that the air con didn’t seem to go as cool as we would have liked it to. The room was serviced twice daily – morning and evening whilst we were at dinner and always to a very high standard. Towels were always replenished which was great. The mini-bar contained beers, white & red wine, soft drinks (Coke, Fanta etc), plenty of water and snacks (chocolate bars, Haribo etc). If we wanted more of anything or something different, we could just leave a note or whatsapp our villa host which was great. The selection of beers available on the island (from memory) were Carlsberg, Corona, Tiger and Singha. Bikes Each villa is provided with bicycles (they are quite heavy-duty) to get around. It can take quite a while to get around (especially when in the over water villas) so these are really handy. I haven’t rode a bike in many years, but soon got used to riding (although we were getting golf buggies on the evenings as we didn’t want to drink and ride in the dark!!) Restaurants Breakfast Breakfast is buffet-style in the Aqua restaurant. The selection is fantastic and it is a very high standard. All food is fresh and there is a lot of choice. Lunch Our favourite lunch spot was the Beach Club Grill. This opened daily from 12:30 – 15:30 and every single member of staff were fantastic. Jai the sommelier needs a special mention as he was always straight over, with great wine recommendations and was extremely friendly. The menu at the Beach Club Grill is very big – there is a lot of selection so you can vary each day. Favourites of ours included the Chicken Satay, Butter Chicken, Beef Striploin, Tuna and the Pizzas. Dinner Our favourite dinner spots were Le Asiatique and the Beach Club Grill. Le Asiatique had some of the best Asian food that we have had, everything was extremely tasty. A favourite for my husband was a mixed sushi platter (not on the menu, but they were happy to make it), but all of the dishes that we ate there were great. The only (slight) negative about this restaurant was that there is no breeze whatsoever and it was extremely hot in there. The beach club grill again, was fantastic, with a nice setting on the evening. All dishes were thoroughly enjoyed. We did visit Amazonico on one of the nights, however this was our least favourite restaurant. Although this was an a-la carte restaurant, the starters were buffet style (cold), and there was a lot of raw tuna (ceviche) and salads with chickpeas. I don’t eat fish so didn’t enjoy this, however my main course (steak) was nice. We were supposed to visit the buffet one night, where the theme was Indian, however this was cancelled. We enquired at breakfast to see if it would be re-arranged, as we love Indian food, but were told that unfortunately it would not be, but then when we went for lunch at the Beach Club Grill, they had made us our own Indian platter, which consisted of 5/6 curries, breads, tandoori lamb, rices and pickles – it was absolutely fantastic and we really appreciated the effort that they had gone to for us. We also asked if they could make a Steak Tartar for us and on our last day, they made us this for lunch (we did agree to pay extra for the Steak Tartar). We went to the Teppanyaki one night and although enjoyable, we found it a bit disjointed, there was limited choice unless you chose to pay for steak (whereas it’s included with the all inclusive everywhere else), so the majority of the table chose chicken. The ‘show’ was entertaining, but you were first served vegetables, then they cooked the rice, then the chicken, whereas it would have been better to have all 3 elements together – there was 10 or so mins in between each element, so it was eaten in that order. Starters here were also limited, despite it being inside Le Asiatique restaurant. We changed our second reservation at the Teppanyaki and dined at Asiatique instead. Gala Dinner The Gala dinner is held every Thursday night, with all other restaurants being closed. This was truly spectacular, and we were lucky enough to be there for 2 of these. The whole beach is converted and tables and chairs are placed for guests to sit on. There are lights, music and several different cuisines, including Indian, sushi, Mexican, lobster, Thai, the list goes on. Our favourite food was the Indian food, cooked by Aravindh, who was absolutely fantastic. We were lucky enough to get a few recipes from him on our last day to bring home. The butter chicken, Dal Makhani and charred pineapple were amazing – we wish that we had got more recipes!! Bar The only bar open on the evenings is the Sunset Pool Café. This is open until 12:30am and they have entertainment on most nights (singers, dancers or DJ). It was never too busy on the evenings. They also hold a managers cocktail party (I believe weekly) on the beach which was nice to meet other members of staff. Again, service here great and fantastic drinks. Wine My favourite wine that I had whilst there was the Rose ‘Minuty’ – this seemed like a popular choice so I would advise trying this if you haven’t already! The wine was always served at a good temperature with chilled glasses and the Sommeliers were fantastic – Jai and Shivan especially. We did choose to purchase the ‘Underwater Wine’ experience on our last night. This is an initiative where they submerge the wine under the sea for a period of time, where it ages and the flavour of the wine is effected. This was planned and then served to us by Jai. He explained how it worked and made it a really special experience for us. You get to take the bottle home in a souvenir box (that can be personalised) and we felt that this would be a special souvenir/memory from our honeymoon. Honeymoon Dinner Our villa host, Kristy arranged a honeymoon dinner for us on the Beach, in front of Aqua restaurant on the Monday night. As a surprise, she also arranged a cocktail on the beach for us beforehand, and had made a heart and dolphin in the sand out of lights, it was very special and a real highlight of the holiday for us – Kristy really went out of her way to make it fantastic for us. Pharmacy I felt very ill on the Seaplane on the way to Emerald (despite taking sickness tablet). I mentioned this to Kristy, and she also noticed that I had a few bites (my bite cream didn’t seem to work), so she picked me up in the Golf Buggy and took me to visit the pharmacy. I was seen straight away with he doctor for a consultation, who gave me some cream and anti-sickness tablets. This was included in our All Inclusive package and was great – the bites cleared up quickly after this. The anti-sickness tablets were great for the seaplane back, I didn’t feel sick at all. Excursions We had two boat trips included with our stay, so did one Dolphin Watching Cruise where we saw many Dolphins (highly recommended), and a fishing trip. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch any fish, but others on the boat trip did and it was a fun trip out. These trips are generally later in the afternoon. Snorkelling Snorkelling equipment can be borrowed for the duration of your stay for free, it was great to snorkel around the villas and in the sea in front of Aqua Restaurant – we saw some great fish. A few days before the end of our stay, our flight home was cancelled and rearranged to the next day (24 hours later). We were in a panic but managed to book another night at the resort, however we had to change rooms as there were no overwater villas available. We moved to a garden villa with pool, and although it was beautiful, as a couple we felt that this would be more suited for a family, we prefered the overwater villa for ourselves. The team were great and helped us move our luggage etc over and it worked out well as we got to experience another Gala Dinner!! Special mentions to: Kristy ***** – Our fantastic villa host. She is truly a treasure to Emerald and made our stay so special. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she is so friendly. Jai *****– Fantastic Sommelier, we love tasting new wines and his knowledge of wine is outstanding. This was a huge highlight for us and we regularly mention Jai and his great knowledge of wine. Shivan *****– Again, Fantastic Sommelier, very friendly and knowledgeable, really made our experience special. This will make check in seamless and you can explore the resort and menu before arriving. Overall, we had the best holiday ever and hope that we can return here very soon! The island is breathtakingly Beautiful and the water is a pristine shade of turquoise that looks fake in photos….no filter needed here The overwater bungalows have unobstructed sea views and are very private (something very important to us) Feel free to leave your curtains and doors wide open We stayed in both the superior water villa and the presidential villa…… they are on par with our rooms at Jade Mountain or the Four Seasons. They are well appointed, clean and the sound of the ocean under you while you sleep is incredible. The beaches are clean and there is no seaweed….something that separates it from the Caribbean for sure There are lots of food and drink choices available for all nationalities….we are American and found something we enjoyed at each restaurant . The fresh fruit and breakfast were our favorites. Though Alcohol is chargeable To the room you do have stocked mini fridges and can get bottles of alcohol to your room with no problems Each morning we went to the gym (we were usually the only ones there despite the island being at Capacity) The staff all seem to speak multiple languages which is so fascinating and amazing (Chinese, French, Italian, English, Russian…wow) The water sports team Is amazing and the excursions are worth it ….we saw rays, sharks, dolphins, sea turtles, mantas and all sort of tropical fish. We visited a sandbank and an uninhabited island via jetski. We did a snorkel tour and the sunset cruise as well as took advantage of the paddle boarding. We snorkeled out our room and off the beach daily and it is also filled with of marine life. We had great massages at the spa (though the funny underwater they have you wear during your massage made us both chuckle….one size fits all for men and women of different sizes….he, he) But what makes this on of our favorite vacations of all time??? It is the staff!! Literally all of them …I have no idea how they do it but somehow they seemed to know how I like my omelet, my favorite cocktail for after dinner, my itinerary for the week, my favorite color….everything From arranging rose petals on the bed to coordinating romantic dinners on the private beach for us they all went above and beyond at each and every occasion. Sia our buggy driver is charming and he will keep you smiling Nazmul our housekeeper was the most talented (at bed art, timing baths, learning our habits and needs and anticipating things that we might enjoy. He is hands down the best housekeeper we have ever had while traveling and was a fast friend. He probably spent an hour decorating our room for our anniversary and would always suprise us with something every day. KD the good and beverage manager is fantastic and kept checking in on us to see if we needed anything And Shafi our villa attendant (butler) was amazing at coordinating dinners for us, reminding us of fun activities and making sure that we had 24/7 access to him and his team for anything and everything. He is world class. We have never been to a resort for 10 days where we had access to the same person for 10 days/nights. Because of the consistency…he become like another family member. They were always there for us — so kind, constantly smiling, and always ready to say "yes" to anything we needed. The level of service was unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. Even after spending nearly €5000 for three nights in Paris or the U.S., we’ve never received this kind of hospitality. From the beginning to the end, our stay at Emerald Resort was absolutely amazing. On the last day, we had to take a seaplane at 7 a.m., so we didn’t expect any breakfast or services. But to our surprise, they delivered a delicious and incredible breakfast to our room, allowing us to enjoy our final morning in the Maldives. It was such a thoughtful gesture — a perfect ending to a perfect trip. We highly recommend this resort especially for the honeymoon and will definitely be returning! We opted for water villa that was huge and very much detached so you had no close neighbours . Large terrace with sunbeds overlooking the ocean and a sunset setting for the evening Four excellent restaurants offering wide choice of very high quality food - main restaurant with weekly gala night which included lobster, barbecue prawns and foods from around the world - Mexican/Peruvian with steaks and some very tasty different dishes - Asian with Chinese, Indonesian, Thai, Japanese plus a Tepanyaki - Beach Grill with steaks, chicken, burgers, many fish options, Grill or buffet for lunch Stunning breakfast choice - the smoked salmon and chilli omelettes went down a treat And we must mention the deputy head chef who rustled up some Yorkshire Puddings in what was a first for him! All served by an incredibly attentive staff who couldn’t do enough for you Two excellent bars serving premium brands & enormous cocktail choice . My Corona would come in a bucket of crushed ice to keep it cool! Lovely pool with cushioned sunbeds & umbrellas which also extended to beach that had swings, hammocks This is a fair sized island so the best way to get around is on your bikes which are outside your villa. My wife has movement restrictions so our concierge readily fixed her with a tricycle. Otherwise we did plenty of walking although there is a buggy service for those who prefer not to exercise / have mobility issues or if the weather inclement which happened a couple of times. It is very apparent the staff here are all very well trained to deliver service that exceeds guest expectations - nothing was any trouble for them - it really was a pleasure to engage with them There are too many staff to mention my name and I do feel a bit nervous highlighting a few Shafi our concierge was brilliant throughout. From the moment you arrive at the airport, the staff are there to greet you and assist. We had the most amazing villa host, Aiman, who made sure everything was perfect for us, thank you for everything Aiman! All of the staff were so helpful and kind but a special mention and thank you to Manik, Hussain and Izha (Water Sports), Odin and Priyana (spa/massages), KD (manager food and beverage - he was fantastic), Misbah (housekeeping). There was a great selection of food and drinks. They also had everything you needed (toiletries etc.) so don’t worry if you forget anything! The room was spotless and very spacious. The bed was so comfortable and the facilities in the room were great (including the mini bar which was restocked daily). The resort was perfect (which is high praise from a perfectionist) and we cannot wait to go back. If you book this resort, you will not regret it! 10/10! The O’Connor Family.

Emerald is everything you'd want from a Maldivian escape. Our overwater villa with pool was stunning, with unbeatable views and total privacy. Ahmed our housekeeper always welcomed us with huge smile but what’s most important made sure villa was spotless clean. We are fussy eaters but the food across all restaurants was really good. What stood out most was the incredible service: every staff member went above and beyond. Wisham our Villa host was an absolute star, making our holidays memorable. He exceeded the expectations at every level, from few surprises on our anniversary to little gifts at the end of the trip. When Ahmed from the Sunrise Bar heard we love a coffee liqueur which is no longer available for sale, he somehow managed to find a last hidden bottle in their stock and saved it for us so we can enjoy it. We don’t remember all the names but the whole F&B team is amazing. Whether you’re into relaxing at the spa, snorkeling, or just soaking in the scenery, this resort is perfection. Highly recommended!

I was suspicious when I saw it had 5 stars out of five on Tripadvisor, but just after a few hours any doubts wete dispelled. This resort is indeed spotless, with their system of having a staff member - called butler - allotted to each villa working splendidly. We had Wisham, professional and friendly to a fault, punctual, available and always smiling despite having many other guests to attend to. He and the rest of the staff always bent over bacwards to accommodate our wishes, and almost always found a solution. When my wife had health issues doctor's advice and medicine were swiftly provided. Despite the hotel being full the place never felt crowded, except maybe one evening at a restaurant. Plenty of private space. The restaurants were varied, with really nice food, especially the seafood. Nice swimming pool, splendid beaches, and with a villa above water you have your own access to the turquoise sea. Squeaky clean everywhere. We had a few small leaks which were repaired instantly. Another good thing is the staff member at arrival at Malé airport - Moosly in our case - who took care of everything relating to the connecting seaplane. One thing you should be aware of is that you need a connecting flight from Malé airport, at 590 USD per person. The only drawback is msybe the excessive price tag of activities not included in the package. And I was surprised to have San Pellegrino bottles charged at 6 USD when much more expensive alcoholic beverages are included. To sum up, splendid resort, would definitely return or recommend, and thanks to Wisham for making the stay splendid. Thanks also to the waiters at the restaurants, notably Danish, Pandee, Tinit, Sam, Arhaan and others I did not catch the name of.

What to say about Emerald? We went for our honeymoon and are so glad we chose this resort. It was absolutely magical. We stayed in a water villa with pool which was a lovely room - the pool was a great size and the bathroom was impressive. Our Villa Attendant Sanmaan was so great - everything was seen to twice a day - including putting my toiletries in size order! He also did us a special bed and bath decoration and we enjoyed chatting to him whenever we caught him. Our mini bar and snacks were always topped up and we never had to worry about not having a fresh towel. The beaches are breathtaking and the snorkelling by the villas and beaches was incredible - we saw so many fish including sting rays. The dolphin trip included in the all inclusive was a highlight - we saw so many and because it wasn’t a crowded boat it felt really special. On the one day it rained the staff arranged a full day of activities to keep everyone entertained - we really enjoyed doing the Maldivian Cooking Class with the Executive Sous Chef. The food was impressive - the variety was great and we were always excited for dinner. With the deluxe all inclusive we didn’t have to worry about anything - all drinks were included including champagne. All the staff were absolutely delightful - a few to mention by name: - Meraj for being our favourite server - funny, kind and always looked after us. - Nougata for being generally lovely. - Shivam the sommelier for delighting us with different wines. - Aravindh chef for very kindly printing me 2 recipes of my favourite dishes. - Anjana chef for always being lovely to see and doing a great teppanyaki night. - Areej manager of beach club grill who always made an effort to make us feel welcome and have a joke with us. - Sanmaan Villa Attendant as above! - Sameeh at sunset bar cafe who surprised us and made a special cocktail on our last day - presenting them with flower decorations. And finally… the absolute star of the show for us was Wisham - our Villa Host. He made our stay so special, going above and beyond to make it a memorable honeymoon for us. He did so many thoughtful gestures - from making us a special plaque, to gifting us a Maldives scarf and arranging a surprise romantic beach drink at sunset. When we return we will definitely be asking for him again. You cannot go wrong choosing Emerald. We will be back!!
