We spent 12 unforgettable days on Dhawa Ihuru. Our room, equipped with a jacuzzi, was beautiful, but I think all the rooms are equally comfortable and well equipped. All the staff were always extremely friendly and helpful, and if there was a problem, it was solved immediately. We would especially like to mention the General Manager Abdulla, who always looked after the well-being of the guests. The island is a true paradise and the house reef is in excellent condition. We were lucky enough to see numerous sharks - from small to large - as well as thousands of fish, a turtle and many other sea creatures. Dhawa Ihuru has everything you need for a relaxed and unforgettable stay. As for the culinary offering: From freshly squeezed fruit juice to individually prepared egg dishes for breakfast to varied buffets and theme nights in the evening - the food was always a delight. All in all, we can only warmly recommend this wonderful island.

We are on our 7th day out of 9 (first week of March 2025), and we can definitely give a full review about Dhawa Ihuru and how amazing it actually is. Let me preface that before every trip we do extensive research and read lots of reviews, with the goal to get the most out of any location we visit. Our priorities for this trip to the Maldives, were beautiful beaches and amazing reef, and we can certainly say that Dhawa Ihuru has it all! The island is very small, we can walk around it in around 10 minutes, and with around 60 villas, you really get that privacy feeling, each villa has its own piece of beach and there is a lot of privacy between each villas. Currently the resort is almost at capacity and honestly it doesn’t feel crowded at all, which is amazing. The reef is so close to the beach, and there is so much to see, black tip sharks, mantas and turtles every day! The resort is super clean, and the staff is amazing, everybody is super friendly and attentive. There is only one restaurant, which does a la cart food 3 days per week, and 4 days it’s buffet, the food is really high quality, we loved sushi night and the fish was super fresh! While researching we read comments about the sister island, Vabbinfaru, being a bit better, for beaches, and there are daily free boats (4minutes to get on the other island) that bring you there to check it out, we honestly think that Dhawa Ihuru is just better, the beach on Vabbinfaru, while being wider, has many many broken corals both on the beach and on the shallow water, making it a bit uncomfortable to walk around, while on Dhawa Ihuru there are no broken corals and the beach is super clean and comfortable to walk on! If you are looking for a beautiful and green island, with amazing ocean color and crystal clear water, and a top notch house reef, this is definitely a resort to consider, and another big plus, only 25 minutes from Male by speedboat! Each room as we already mentioned has its own beach strip with chairs, swings and trees on the side for privacy! We are in room number 5, which is on the sunrise side, and we really liked it! The sunrise has a narrower beach, compared to the sunset one, but for us, nothing is more beautiful than waking up at 06:30, and seeing the sun rise in front of our villas, so beautiful! Finally, we would like to spend some words on the staff working here, everybody is super friendly and nice, and we would like to thank especially the following staff members for making our stay here truly unforgettable: Eni and Adam, they have been the most amazing waiters one could wish for, very attentive and kind, always with a smile and remembering your names from day one, thank you so much! Sujith, he works at the live cooking station and he is such a nice guy, always having nice conversations while cooking for us, and after a couple of breakfast, as soon as he saw us coming, he was already asking if he could start cooking our “usual” egg dishes! Thank you! And finally the bar staff, Nish, Anu and Afraah, you guys are amazing, unfortunately our drink of choice is Gin and Tonic, so I cannot review other drinks, but they were so nice, so attentive, and always looking if we needed more drinks or snacks, after a couple of days that they saw we loved our gin and tonic, as soon as we walked to the bar and they saw us, they would take a gin bottle in their hand, look at us and smile, thank you guys we really appreciated your service! Last but not least, the guy that cleaned our room (twice per day!), unfortunately I dont remember his name, but man, what a nice person! He was so considerate and polite, learned our routine after just a couple of days, so he was always ready to clean the room while we went for breakfast and lunch! Amazing guy and really sorry I don’t remember your name! For us this resort gets a 10 out of 10, and we will definitely consider it again if we come back to the Maldives! This was my 5th visit to the Maldives and 1st visit to Dhawa Ihuru. The island is a gem with excellent house reef for snorkelling, great food, great service in a restaurant ( there is even a man dedicated to making a fresh juice of your choice at breakfast). wonderful beach and peaceful atmosphere. I especially appreciated the quick transfer from the airport. I was on the island within 30 min of arrival from Abu Dhabi! I also had very good massages at the Spa. Island is also a home to little “ water hens” birds and bats. The management take all complaints very seriously and resolve issues promptly. I had an issue with the room location and it was resolved to my satisfaction, promptly. I have to mention is that the windy side of the island has almost no beach, just sandbags. If you do not request a room on non windy side then your experience of the island maybe very different. Also , just for the record, there are several “ new” islands being constructed on one side of Dhawa Ihuru. Not disturbing at all, no noise, but not very pretty to look at. Overall, this is a very good value for money resort , close to Male , with excellent snorkelling opportunity , excellent service and management and great food. It is definitely the one to visit again!

The island is wonderful and well maintained. There are a lot of trees and not just palms, so the result is a beautiful green skyline from the ocean. Also the inner parts of the island are beautiful paths surrounded by the flourishing vegetation with many kind of flowers. The bar and the restaurant are beautiful, effective and well designed. It is possible to walk throughout them into the sand with no flippers. Part of the bar is also the reception, in a very effective way. In front of these, there is the sport building with all the sport equipments and also the diving centre. Over them there is the gym, at the first floor, with a beautiful stained glass window looking at the sea. At the ground floor there is a shop and a refreshments area with a plasma tv showing the activities and news. The shop is well stocked and also the souvenirs are beautiful and not common, but cheap. On the other side there are the kids garden and then the spa. Both spacious and beautiful. The spa is wonderful and cozy. The rooms are wonderful, big and well furnished, with an outside bathroom maldivian style; all the rooms have boundaries and trees in respect of the privacy. Before the beach there is a swinging double and a double beach bed located in a beautiful shaded and protected area. Reaching the beach the are two beautiful sunbeds and then the wonderful big and coral sandy free beach. The lagoon is amazing, full of fish and corals. The reef is very close and there are passes all around the island. All the services are super, from the housekeeping to the restaurant and the bar. Also the sports services are super. Really appreciated was the chance to go to the Banyan Tree by a shuttle service. We would like to thank all the workers, they made their best to made us happy. Many many thanks to Rohit, Nishaanth, Hanaan, Afraah and all the others....sorry we don't remember all the names.

This is a stunning and very tranquil island: gorgeous water, perfect shade in front of the villa and lovely staff. Spending time here was extremely relaxing and therefore we were able to enjoy nature at its best. Truly felt like a paradise island.

Just returned from a14 night stay at Ihuru celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary from day one the management and staff were excellent Hanah on reception especially arranging our accommodation and a special meal on the beach near our villa this was our second visit to the island having been here 10 years ago still got that magical relaxing quiet feel to it villa food friendly people excellent been to the Maldives several times and this is one of our favourites room tip if you like plenty of sunshine you need the sunset villas anywhere from 36 upwards better beach front and easy access to the reef

Amazing and spectacular hospitality throughout from the entire family of Dhawa Ihuru. Pastry chef Trinath Pal and the bar manager Nishant were two gems we had a great conversation with. Overall every single employees were friendly and polite from the core. The washroom with jacuzzi was amazing and of course, the backyard with the amazing ocean and sunset view is to die for!

The trip was fantastic. Starting from the hospitality to the food, everything was top notch!! Thank you Chef Trinath for the lovely dessert and the special cake, thanks Sujit for the lovely barbecue, thanks Nishat for the fantastic drinks!!!

Small quiet relaxed resort. The staff are all super. The reef is one of the best in the region and easily accessible. I have not been to Maldives for 30 and I'm now retired so I used the guided snorkeling to get me started again. Perfect. I cannot avoid saying that the colours and soft corals of 1995 were sadly reduced but this is one of few resorts with a marine preservation centre and they are growing new corals and the fish variety is v good . Any negatives: They have put in groins to reduce beach loss and new development on adjacent islands is visible.

That was amazing experience, excellent place! I want to thank everyone who makes our vacation so easy and comfortable. Rohit Afraah was very nice so as everyone who works here. Food and drinks are great. Everything was clean and that was amazing to have your personal beach. Thank you!

Loved this small resort. It was perfect for our short trip as it was only about 15 to 20 minutes boat ride from Male. For the first time, despite it being my 9th visit to the Maldives, I snorkelled around an entire island which was great fun and the reef was lovely! We dived on the wreck on the house reef as well which was good. The rooms were not as fancy or modern as some of the newer resorts but they were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The food was nice and my only gripe about this place is that for the price point they charge the food just doesn’t cut it compared to other resorts at the same price point. The spa was great and we visited more times than we’d planned because of it! I’d definitely stay here again and almost booked for my next Maldives trip but at the time of booking they were charging 5* prices for what is a lovely simple 4* hotel. That said, it’s a beautiful island and definitely ‘no news, no shoes’ vibe. It’s a smaller laid back island with a beautiful reef which is my preference and I hope I’ll get to stay there again.

We loved the laid back approach to this resort, the staff were friendly and seemed to be really happy working here. From the time we were picked up at the airport until the trip home we have enjoyed ourselves and been made to feel welcome. The food was great, the service and drinks also and the reef is so easy to access and quite beautiful. We had some spectacular sunsets and great weather as well. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience here. The coral reef and the fish are some of the best we have ever seen. The staff were lovely and could not have been more helpful. We just did the parasailing which was amazing! Thank you Yamin and Thootte. We will definitely rerun
