Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives

After doing lots of research we was sure we had chosen the right island but unfortunately was very disappointed on our first trip to the Maldives. Feel we chose an island to close to Male as the speed boat trip from Male to the island was littered with industrial ships and a recycling centre, not what we were expecting in paradise. The recycling centre is actually visible from the beach on one side of the island. On arriving at the island was told to download the app to enable us to book one of the 3 bookable restaurants for each night of our 5 night stay. The first 3 nights we couldn't get into ANY restaurants on the app, when I spoke to the lady who was doing our welcome to the island, she said "well they do get quite busy "wasn't sure what we was actually paying for then, to sit in the buffet every night!! On the first night we walked down to the Thai restaurant which we hadn't been able to get into, at 8.20pm then was 2 people sitting in the restaurant, it seems this was the pattern of the whole trip, the app is pointless, people arrive book every restaurant, as you are able to do this, don't show up and the app has no cancellation facility, very badly designed and definitely not fit for purpose. Our trip incorporated Sri Lanka, so after arriving at the island coming from a place where the people literally smile all day and can't do enough for you to arriving at Centara Ras Fushi we were so disappointed to discover the staff were not very helpful, never smile, surprising given the reviews I had read, thought this would have been very different. We eat in the Italian restaurant every day and the lady that served us there barely made any eye contact, was the least helpful person we dealt with. Food was average to poor, everything has to be ordered from scanning a QR code, the choice in the menu is very small compared to other islands we have since seen the menus of. On the very last night we were eating in the Italian, one of us wanted pasta, so watched as 3 of our meals were cooked and then sat on the counter for 10 minutes whilst the pasta was cooked. When arriving at our table all of the other 3 meals were freezing cold. When sending the food away as we had already waited 45 minutes for it, no apologise was given "just the chef will cook it again, be 15-20 minutes". We decided we would go to the buffet as fed up with this service. At last a member of staff that valued his guests and took the time to speak to them, Alessio, the man in charge of all the restaurants came out to see us in the buffet restaurant, sat with us for 30 minutes whilst we gave him feedback of our trip, listened, offered to help but we explained we were travelling home the next day, but by the end of the conversation we really felt we had been listened to. Alessio is definitely an asset to this island. I did have a wonderful massage in the Spa, the lady was lovely, very relaxing. BUT this is definitely not an island I would recommend to anyone or return to mainly for the service, food, and there are other islands that offer better surroundings and views to get that "paradise feeling"

Special thanks to Maez, Tuhin, Jau, Fazo, Jay, Yaya, Shaa, Ash, Rajan and all the staff memebers of which I unfortunately I cannot recall the names. You were all amazing.

Well what can I say? From the moment we got on the speedboat at Male airport our visit has been nothing short of amazing. My wife & I had high expectations of our week long stay & they were met & exceeded. The island has a very relaxed & tranquil atmosphere dispersed with a few lively evenings of Karaoke, Ibiza chill vibes on the beach etc. Drinks whilst watching the sunset at Viu Bar is spectacular. The food is brilliant. All of the meals we had were very good. The buffet is superb, especially for breakfast omelettes & lunch / dinner salads & seafood. The staff are warm & friendly. We had a fabulous massage in the Spa & spent our days snorkelling or swimming in the sea or the pool. The resort was not overcrowded & the beach villa accommodation was great. I would like to thank all of the staff for a fantastic holiday.

The welcome officer was nice to explain everything about Centara Ras Fushi Resort to us. The overwater villa was wonderful. However the sea current was too strong to swim at the villa. The dinner buffet, the breakfast buffet, and the poolside were excellent. The snorkeling for fish at the beach was wonderful. We saw the school of white fish. The resort staff were friendly and polite.

Rokiful has been so lovely and helpful, everything we have needed he has sorted for us and he has been so polite and made our experience so much more amazing! I would definitely recommend this hotel and the service has been absolutely amazing!

Coming here on the 11th march for my honeymoon, leaving a 5* in anticipation will update after our stay as well.............................................................................................................

A really well located resort with plenty of varied eating options . Staff in all parts of e resort were really friendly and we would single out Shohel who looked after our over water Villa and always checking everything was OK for us. A special mention for Shaa and Yaya...

So friendly and had a good attitude. He made sure our room was nice and clean and stocked up with towels, ammenities, water and fridge snacks. The bed was so nicely made every time we had come back from a long day of swimming, it was nice to just relax on a freshly made bed. I would definitely stay here again!!! Service is impeccable.

The trip was absolutely amazing. Loved it. Mamun was lovely in taking care of us and our room, very friendly and welcoming. The food was great and had a lot of variety. The over water villa was soooo good, loved it. Would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Our first time in the Maldives and our bucket list trip for my partners’s 50th which did not disappoint. Paradise I expected and paradise and so much more was received. We stayed in an over water villa which was worth the extra money. The service and friendliness of all staff was exceptional and never felt forced but very authentic. It was slightly chaotic at the airport and waiting for our speedboat transfer but once we were on the boat all was great. Arrival at Centara was as expected from the reviews with us being taken straight for lunch. We really could have done with going straight to our room after such a long journey but we did get that not all rooms are ready straight away. Check in was smooth and we had everything explained to us and were able to download the app. Our luggage was taken to our room as were we. We were in 343 which was a lovely walk past the amazing Vue bar ( good for sunset drinks and a drink on the way home) and daily shark feeding. We managed to book in the al La carte for a number of evenings and most lunches which was a great experience, great menu and always amazing service. Staff were always accommodating for my partners allergies (seafood & egg). We loved both pool bars getting excellent service from Johin and the rest of the team. Our cleaner Amaril was lovely and always made sure we had enough water and everything we needed. Mini bar was well stocked and Pringles provided as well as tea/coffee. Snorkelling straight from our room was phenomenal- we took our own snorkels and sea shoes which meant we could go when we wanted and didn’t have to get them from the hotel. Do not take heels all restaurants have a sandy floor. We loved both the lobby bar and vue bar both have entertainment daily which is good. Went to the karaoke night which was fun. Would recommend this resort it is everything and more you could want.

Great trip, beautiful location and great staff. Especially Mamoon and Shaka. All services are also good. Internet had some issues but maybe because of the stromy weather but overall it was a great trip. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Had an excellent trip wouldn’t fault a thing. Food was very tasty. Room service was great. All the staff always made us feel welcomed Shubo did an excellent job cleaning our room and even decorated the bed to celebrate my birthday coming on this trip.

We decided to take one more, 10-night, long-haul Maldives holiday before settling down to closer, European resorts in our old age. We came to Cantara Ras Fushi ten years ago, so we knew pretty much what to expect - and we weren't disappointed. The bars and restaurants were just as we remembered. Top shelf drinks in two of the four bars and excellent food in the Oasis buffet and all three 'A la carte' restaurants. The new 'Quiet Pool and beach area ' was fantastic. We spent the first couple of hours every morning, almost alone there. The pool is beautifully warm and we could take our pick from the dozens of free sunbeds. Our beach room, 110, only a couple of rooms away from our room ten years ago, has direct access to a small, sheltered beach area with lovely shade under the palm trees and occasional drinks service from the main pool bar. Unfortunately, we had to join the 8.00 a.m. 'towel-rush' to secure our sunbeds. Although the weather was always, warm and sunny, It seemed that, because of the strong breeze, very choppy sea and 'red flags', many of the water bungalow guests were also seeking sheltered, beach sunbeds. The sea close to our stretch of beach was warm and relatively calm for safe snorkeling but beach shoes were needed and there were hardly any fish to be seen. Other guests - strong swimmers, told us that there were plentiful fish, turtles and sharks on the main reef and there was a submerged rope along the drop-off to hang on to. But few guests (including us) were brave enough to defy the current and red flags to check it out. All the staff were polite and helpful but Simon, Arif and our room guy Mondol went above and beyond for us. Dredging and 'land building' is happening offshore, all around the area but it was far enough away not to be a problem. In summary, we had a great time and met lots of lovely people on this beautiful island - only 25 minutes boat ride from the airport but if snorkelling is your thing, there are other, better islands nearby.

Very good service and a lovely resort, a gorgeous spot with plenty of restaurant and bar choices. Staff were very helpful polite and always on hand to help. Dining was very good great variety of food. Lots of activities, snorkelling, diving, kayaking fishing to name a few. We had the all inclusive package which included all food and drinks which was very reasonable. Would recommend this beautiful place. It is an adults only resort, perfect if you want a romantic getaway or have your wedding here. We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary and our housekeeper, Mamun went all out to decorate our room and leave a nice bottle of bubbles, very thoughtful and appreciated.

My wife and I came to the Maldives for our honeymoon and had a great time at the Centara Fushi Resort. Special mention to **Naz** in particular who was exceptional - and always went above and beyond to make sure we were well cared for. He made us special cocktails and would always make time to come and chat to us. Naz really made our day by just being super attentive and make sure we felt cared for. **Rajan** was fantastic and always greeted us with a smile and was flexible and attentive with our needs. Chef **Tiron** cooked the most amazing food and catered for our specific requirements. Photographer **Izza** was very friendly, always said hello whenever he saw us, and produced some great shots of us that we could send to our friends and family. Finally **Nadia** was very professional and knowledgeable, she was very helpful with made sure we were looked after till the very end of our stay. I would recommend this resort and we had a really great time!

Very nice place with nice hospitality. Rajan was very helpful and the room service is top notch. Lightning fast responses for any requests. Lot of events across islands. Nice places to spend your afternoons just by the beach and chilling. Recommend it

Overall experience, I would say it was good.. especially custodians were very nice.. I want to thank Shohel for cleaning our room and decorating our room with care.. most of kitchen staff were nice, especially this kitchen staff who makes omelets everyday is very kind and friendly. In all honesty, some staff does need a training on how to be more hospitable and professional in order for this place to maintain its world class resort status. It does have a beautiful scenic view.

One of the top things there it's Adults only The couples spa day we had was awesome a big thanks to the girls there Also a huge thankyou to Rajan who was looking after our housekeeping. He went above and beyond in just the everyday stuff we ask for, and when he found out about our engagement dinner he organised a lovely romantic setting when we got back from our proposal dinner. Thank again Rajan.

Mixed feeling, firstly the resort is beautiful, check in was easy, room beautiful, clean, storage okay, you have to hang everything in the bathroom, no where to put away your underwear just on an open shelf’s in the bathroom l, would be nice to have had a set of drawers just to put your underwear out of sight. Me and my husband are governed by our phones all the time at home due to our jobs roles day and night, on arrival we were told to scan the app, we said we don’t really want to scam any app, no you must scan the app, to book the restaurants, this absolutely drove us insane, so much so my husband deleted it, you can book things through it but if you want to cancel anything you have to go to reception, so I can’t really see the point of it, it’s pings all night with messages, about trips the spa etc.. Although the island is really beautiful, there is absolutely nothing going on in the evening, except a married couple that sing for about 30-40 minutes, then your left to your own devices, unless you like karaoke, or a disco that is so loud you can’t here yourself think, the only place there is any air conditioning is your room, and the main restaurant, and my god it’s so hot there, I mean uncomfortably hot, surely for what guests paid really there should have some sort of air conditioning units in places that guest sit, not just a ceiling fan, we are very well travelled and have sat in outdoor restaurants and bars with air conditioning units on, people are walking around absolutely soaked in sweat including the staff. One of the restaurants is closed one night a week which if I can recall was the Tia Restaurant this would make a great place for them to put on a show once a week there is plenty of seating there they could easily accommodate this, and then maybe the pool bar could be open in the evening to accommodate this. We booked all inclusive and where unaware that there were different types, to us all inclusive is all inclusive, we could have everything except certain cocktails, I mean really for what it cost would it make a difference. Trips really expensive Staff are great, food lovely, we didn’t have any problems with anything else, but I think a couple of tweaks more air conditioning units, maybe a couple of shows would make this a fantastic place, would we come back probably not, as not a lot to do there, but thank you, for your kind hospitality.

We arrived at the resort by speed boat and were greeted at reception by Eye, she was lovely, very helpful & informative. We were then taken to our bungalow which was all that you needed for a relaxing beach holiday. We had the Gold + package, which was incredible, we would definitely recommend it. The food had something for everyone. Breakfast was buffet, however there was an omelet station cooked to order, they also served eggs benedict to order, amazing. As we had the gold + package we could eat at the buffet or the beach bar for lunch and a choice of 3 a la carte restaurants in the evening, plus the buffet was also available. We only ate at the Thai & The Mediterranean for our evening meals and they were both very good. ( I would say we like spicy food, we ordered the medium spice Thai curry and thank goodness we did). We had a daily spa credit with our package, and I used it on 2 all over Thai massages (Suree was incredible). We must also mention Yaya, who was the first server we had on day one she was so friendly she always made us feel incredibly welcome All in all, we had an amazing week and we are planning a return trip..

Second time to the Maldives in as many years ,but the food and drink was far better than the last all inclusive of the same star rating. Things i liked - the "a la carte" restaurants were bookable but at no extra cost from the all inclusive package. The quality of wines was better with more choice. The accommodation was well maintained and not "tired" (we stayed again in an over water villa ) this also had better/safer steps to the water and two buoyancy aids were provided for weak swimmers. On the note of swimming there was a lifeguard on duty between main hours 0600-1800,after that water access was not permitted (for water safety issues- dark and things that may nibble ....) The staff were all very pleasant and helpful, the member of staff that was appointed to clean/change towels etc was very helpful - I believe he is Ravan or Rajan , to say he went out of his way to make us welcome was an understatement, nothing was too much effort and his supervisor should be pleased of his work- room 357. It must be noted that this is a cash free establishment so should you wish to leave gratuity you will need to bring cash with you. The island itself is quite small and you can't walk totally around it like you can with many which was a shame but from our room a lap was @1.8 miles so exercise could be had if you like to walk off the good food. Our favourite beach was the quiet beach and the favourite bar was the viu bar which was run superbly by Matey the barman. In summary the quality of food /drink and accommodation was very good , the only thing that I began to find irritating was the app that was required for almost everything, from reading the menu's at the restaurants to requesting laundry and more tea /coffee, when you need to carry a phone and have a QR code reader to access information. On that note the wifi was good all over the island and free ! The price of certain extras would be what i would describe as extremely high ie 15 mins jet ski @$250 - NO THANKS. A very enjoyable vacation was had here and i would recommend it highly.
