The island of Holbox is an amazing place to spend a week. It's picturesque and feels like a forgotten corner of Mexico that still retains it's natural charm. HM Palapas del Mar hotel was a perfect choice. We liked the location which is close enough to walk to town yet secluded enough to feel exclusive. It's set overlooking the beach with palm trees and wild birds and iguanas running around. Loved everything about it. Our room was on the first floor and had a nice balcony to sit out on and plenty of space inside to unpack and feel comfortable. Big bathroom. The sand does tend to get everywhere due to the hotel basically being surrounded by sand! But the cleaning staff were always doing their best to keep things clean and looking great. The food was great too. Breakfast got busy at the usual time you'd expect , so get in early for a better experience. Staff all friendly. WiFi is not the best here but I imagine that's a problem island wide. Great hotel. Great island to discover.

Our stay at HM Palapas del Mar in Holbox was absolutely amazing! The property was spotless and well-maintained, with gorgeous facilities that made our stay feel luxurious. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ensuring we had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The location is unbeatable—close to all the key spots in Holbox while still offering a peaceful retreat. We chose the breakfast option, and it was such a fantastic addition, with a wide variety of delicious choices to start the day right. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Holbox!

Not exaggerating. Stunning hotel in idyllic location. Ok so the trip to get to it is a little tiring but honestly, well worth it. Treated and felt like a rockstar from arrival till departure ! Got some amazing shots from the rooftop pool and also from our balcony. It's clean, it's trendy, it's got a great restaurant and the staff are the sweetest. Slept like a baby at night in the spacious room (great A/C) and daytimes topped up the suntan like a pro by the pool. The town center is cute and if you don't feel like walking get a golf cart taxi. Which reminds me ladies, it's not a high heels type of resort. Casual island vibe but dressy/casual at night. Loved it here.

Small boutique beach hotel with good staff (but not intrusive) and great housekeeping..... just keep in mind that there is sand everywhere, even after our room was cleaned. Lol Would we probably be back for round 3? YES!

We had to return and stay there again and chose Hm Palapas because of our great experience back in 2019 (OMG 5 years passed so fast). Lol Many new faces and could not remember anyone with exception of two of the front desk staff and the bellboy. We booked the all inclusive package and if you drink more than 4 alcoholic drinks a day, then it is worth it. We had a room near the main pool and loved our stay AGAIN. Lol We hope to come back again with extended family.

This was part of our long awaited holiday to this part of the world. We had a five night stay on Isle Holbox, obviously the beach part of our break. Our villa was simply lovely, it was a thrill opening the door, every time. Walking along the coast, we definitely got our step totals in and thoroughly enjoyed the simple pleasures the Island has. The food, staff and charming use of golf buggies to get about will stay with us forever. We wouldn’t do this every year, but do plan to return for a whole fortnight as soon as possible.

I have a new respect for my husband after planning this holiday. Every single thing was incredible, from the hotel staff who were consistently helpful, to the sea views from every way you looked. My bedroom was stylish, big bed, walk in shower and a balcony that got the evening sun, my favourite place to sit and read. Housekeeping was good, fresh linen and towels when needed. The whole break had a different feel entirely to the busy, crowded package breaks we usually go on, worlds apart. Never wanted to miss a plane so badly ! !

Hotel Palapas in Holbox exceeded all my expectations! The beachfront location offers stunning views of turquoise waters and white sandy beaches, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and come with private balconies or terraces, perfect for enjoying the island's natural beauty. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. The food was fantastic, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and delicious ceviche. I loved starting my day with breakfast at the pool. With a beautiful outdoor pool and easy beach access, Hotel Palapas is the perfect spot for a peaceful escape. Highly recommended!

Modern, stylish, clean and comfortable. Best location right on the ocean with amazing views pretty much whichever way you look. The rooms are very nice and especially liked the big walk in shower. Staff all great and nice atmosphere to relax and chill, which is what it was all about!!
