Horrible , horrible experience upon arrival at Kontiki. Starting with new manager Naomi and front desk associate Finn.after not being greeted when standing in front of them for 5 mins, to both of them blatantly finding it comical when asked what accommodations can be made. No customer service. Rude and unhelping to paying customers!! Never will I be back and will continue to leave reviews.

Stayed in luxury suites room 202. Very impressive room; spacious, two sinks, make up area with plug in and chair, big bed facing the ocean, nice open shower and slippers and housecoats which I love having since I pack light. Great deck offers sun and shade and outdoor shower for deck infinity pool. Great options for seating: lounge chairs, table chairs and beach bed. Perfect for breakfast on the deck with view of ocean. Beautiful sunsets right from your balcony. Downside: patio not completely private, neighbours are close and noise from area and construction at bordering property destroys the otherwise perfect ambiance. Can smell cigar smoke from neighbour patio. For time at the beach, there is a cabana reserved for you in the VIP area next to water which was lovely. They have a list with your room number and an assigned cabana which can change day-to-day. They bring you free water and you can order other items from your chair. We used the free shuttle to go to a grocery store for snacks, breakfast items and alcohol. Not much fridge room. Staff are friendly. The grounds are lovely and are surrounded by lush greenery. Some of the rooms by the saltwater pools have beach beds in a jungle-like setting. A nice alternative if you prefer a serene setting without ocean access. We snorkelled the ocean area inside the reef. There are fish to see but they are neither plentiful nor diverse. Without a car you are limited in snorkelling without an excursion. Many cheaper eating opportunities close by but not a lot of high quality intimate meal options that you can walk to other than the hotel restaurant. All was idyllic on the first day then the place went to hell. Noise from neighboring restaurant/bar area with dj music was blasting from 8:30 p.m. to midnight. It ruined the room. Impossible to sit on deck or even hear anything in your room. Bad sign when the hotel supplies earplugs as a remedy. Unbearable. Two days later the noise came from the hotel’s own party night. The music was much better this time but unless you want to join the party, it is disruptive to your evening. We planned a late dinner away so we weren’t hostages of the noise all evening. Don’t book here if you’re looking for a relaxing evening in your room or on your deck. Inquire about specialty nights at the hotel and neighboring areas. We would normally have done enough research to know this but we used a travel agent this trip and paid the price. Hotel is aware of the problem but these are young parties who spend a lot of money on alcohol so anyone looking for quiet can’t compete with that. Expect it three nights a week. Hard to avoid the party days if you’re here for more than a day! When we complained, guest services suggested we try Blue Bay for luxury and quiet. Party noise at night; construction noise in the morning. All for a pretty penny. Never again. Can’t recommend, even though the room is impressive and the grounds lovely.

I initially wrote a review on 2/18/25. I want to provide an update to that review. I know this review may be long. However, it is important to read it ALL!. Kontiki "Resort" presents as a luxury resort. However, I will explain MY perception of events and why I do NOT consider this place a resort. 1. We arrived on 2/17.25. We were greeted at the front. They greeted us very nicely. They even welcomed us with a fresh super cold coconut water. Yep, straight from the coconut! My husband loved, me not so much! We were checked in by Stephanie. She was really sweet and amazing. 2. The room: We booked the Tropical Superior Suite. I can not remember the bellsman name. However, he began walking us to our room. Once he realized our room was upstairs, he stated, " Oh your suitcase is heavy and we dont take upstairs you have to take it." Good thing my strong hubby was there. We went upstairs and because of my knee and back issues, I realized quickly this room would not suffice. I contacted the front desk via WhatsApp. They did switch our room. Again, we had to move our belongings to the new room. This is NOT resort treatment to me! I also want to point out, the FIRST room did have a smell of urine and was not as clean as it should be. Please keep in mind, this is NOT the resorts fault. BUT, I was under the impression ALL the rooms were beachfront. When I made the reservation, I was told "we are the ONLY of 2 beachfront properties" Well, that is an embellished statement. You must book a luxury suite in order to be beachfront. 3. Standard: I dont know about you, but if you use the word RESORT, ESPECIALLY in the Caribbean, I have a standard that pops into my mind. We noticed the room only had two towels. No washcloths. We sent a message on Whats app. We were told that guest services is on the way. Guest services did come. However, they only came to tell us that we would get washcloths in the morning. As they did not have anymore. The time on the resort was around 6:30pm. we checked in at 3pm and you mean to tell me you have NO washcloths. INSANE!!! By now, my blood is boiling! Shantely sent a message on WHatsApp that states "We apologize for the inconvenience. The towels have already been delivered, and we will provide the washcloths tomorrow." INSANE! I think asked her about checking out early. She stated that basically we could checkout. However, we would not be refunded! We were also told that room service ends at 10PM. My husband attempted to order room service around 8PM. He was told they were not doing room service tonight! Tuesday Morning at 7:05AM. I reached out via WhatsAPP "we still need washcloths to shower" I was told the washcloths were on the way. The washcloths (pictured below) was like a dry baby wipe. At 7:12AM I informed the desk that this was insane and I was on the way to the desk. Once I got to the desk, I was greeted by the Assistant Manager Raksha. Super nice and sweet. But, she told me that washcloths are not a standard of the resort in the Tropical Superior Suite. I lost it! So what do people shower with MAM! She told me they ONLY provide towels. I also addressed with her, This is my one year anniversary trip. I made it clear that I wanted a King size bed. They had two twin beds in the room pushed together. They had given my husband a blanket and myself one. Both were twin so we could not even sleep under the same linen. May not mean much to some, but thus PISSED ME OFF!!!! The window in the bathroom was broken. Which caused an excess of mosquitoes in the room. What did they do: After speaking with Raksha. The resort attempted to make things better for us. 1. For the duration of our stay we were given washcloths and towels 2. Upon return they had put a topper on the twin mattresses to make it appear like a king size bed 3. they decorated our room with balloons, love light, and animal towels. 4. we were offered the luxury suite for a duration of our stay. However, it would have been for $400 more per night. The luxury suite Raksha took us to see was beautiful. we declined and here is why: RESORT: Should not be used for this property! Is it beautiful, yes it is! No, it is not all inclusive. We did not expect that it was. However, when you say resort some things should come with that. They ONLY offer you tea, and coffee! THATS IT! Oh, and one free super cold coconut water. The name should be changed to Kontiki Hotel! this place does not give resort vibes AT ALL!! It is beautiful to see! However, the "resort" offers NOTHING! Now, the location of it, is wonderful! The beach entertainment, restaurants, etc.... are all in walking distance! We took a day trip to Bonaire and they booked travel to and from airport for us! That was helpful. The driver Sandro was amazing! Book with him if you go here and need transportation. Though, the staff was nice! I would NEVER stay here again. It does not and did not meet our expectations. I have read the reviews before mine. Just about every review is FACTUAL, perf my experience!

Please do not spend your money here! They ruined my birthday trip and unfortunately I’m still suffering the consequences of choosing this resort. First, they left me stranded at the airport when the driver we arranged did not show up. I paid for a private transfer and he could not be found and the resort was unresponsive. After waiting for almost an hour, they then forced us to ride with strangers instead of sending a new driver and did not want to accommodate us for the inconvenience. Second, we stayed in the beachfront suite where the outlets didn’t work nor our pool lights. We informed them of this multiple times and they kept promising to send techs to fix it and never did! So much for “luxury”. It was very frustrating and embarrassing. Third, upon check out when I brought all these issues up, the employee was very dismissive and asked why hadn’t we informed them. What!?! I had all the WhatsApp messages as proof that we complained multiple times and received promises to fix the issues that never came. Of course, we were dismissed which is very disappointing since we spend so much money on this fake luxury experience. Lastly, we have no received the security deposit back after a month. I am trying to work with them now to get it back but who knows if I will have to dispute with my bank. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH KONTIKI BEACH RESORT. PLEASE STAY ELSEWHERE FOR A TRUE LUXURY EXPERIENCE.

This resort is awful! Not accommodating at all! We are here now! Checked in today! The room is not beachfront! They di not have washcloths and towels for showering! We were told they wouldn't have more til morning! We had to carry our own luggage to our room! We originally booked with Zoetry! Tried to venture out and not be confined by all inclusive! Welp, you get what you pay for! This place is complete TRASH!!!! DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!! Also, the poolside beds are filthy and need to be replaced!!!

The location was great, and while the Superior rooms are slightly outdated, we weren't there to spend time in our room! Our only complaints on the room was that each night, small bugs came up the drain, we just closed the drain and it seemed to do the trick. Also, while we requested our rooms to be made up each day, it didn't seem as though sheets were changed, the bed was just made, and also the sheets were not big enough for the bed and often came off. Outside of those complaints, we enjoyed our stay, the pools were wonderful, and the beach was also great. We had no issues securing chairs under the umbrellas and while drinks might take a while, we were committing ourselves to island time. We enjoyed our breakfasts, and also the sushi lunch we had as well. I had read many complaints about the noise, and I would agree that if you were staying in the suites, the music would be very loud, however our Superior room was positioned near the front of the resort and we had no issues.

We stayed in the luxury suites for 4 nights in the sea view suite, Sunday-Thursday. The luxury suites were GREAT but the surrounding area dramatically downgrades the experience. Pros: 1. The suites are brand new and beautifully done. Stunning ocean view from every corner of the room. The deck and private dip pool were such a luxury. The room includes lots of other luxurious details, like high end bath products and a nice espresso machine. It had a true King sized bed with nice bedding. 2. The KSL staff were great- eager to help in any way. The called taxis, helped with our rental car, answered questions. Every single person we interacted with around the suites were kind, friendly, knowledgeable. Cons: 1. The noise. If you are looking for quiet- this is not the hotel for you. We were very naive about the Mambo Beach scene, this is our fault for not doing more research. The club music on Sunday and Wednesday went till midnight and was so loud we couldn’t hear the TV in our room. Sunday was astonishingly loud. We were on our honeymoon and felt the environment wasn’t very romantic. 2. Cabana and Mood beach are OK beaches on an island of exceptional beaches. This is not Kontiki’s fault but worth mentioning. Kontiki resort has three nice pools but the associated beaches are public. We were very surprised by all the broken glass. We also found the Cabana Beach staff to be consistently rude despite having a ‘VIP’ spot reserved each day. 3. Food is only OK and the beach bars were constantly crowded. It was frustrating to spend so much money for a luxury experience to not have access to a Kontiki-only bar and/or restaurant.

Beautiful resort…..some staff was very helpful and nice others weren’t… luxury room with private pool was a must …wonderful experience …..private beach access and everyday your beach chairs was reserved for you!!!! one thing that was annoying was we requested wash cloths to shower with and was told the resort didn’t have any, and they didn’t know when they would be receiving any more, that was strange because this is suppose to be luxury resort how you don’t have any wash cloths…and we never received any!!! food was ok on the resort!!! Floating breakfast was an experience in itself…lovey!!!! Beachfront resort…..beach was rocky walking into the water but the further out you got the rocks would disappear…water is very calm and warm blue!!! Wednesday night they have cabana nights from 6pm-12 am!! Seems like a younger crowd with a lot of house music!!! Both sides of the beach have a party like scene until about 12am!!! I would definitely go back some day!!!
