The Kontiki

We went to the Kontiki on our honeymoon. We had an ocean suit and absolutely loved it. Check-In was amazing with the staff and we enjoyed how clean and nice the entire resort was. Food at Mood beach was amazing while we had an afternoon snack and we really loved the beach vibe. The Cabana Club breakfast was pretty good and we really enjoyed all the service. It's true, it's a little loud on Friday and Sunday evenings so just be aware but those parties were very fun and worth a visit. Definitely worth another visit while staying in Curacao.

Let me start off by saying, BOOK THE TRIP. This was the most beautiful property we’ve stayed at in a while. From the staff, to the food, to the ambiance, it is unmatched. Every staff member on the resort is attentive and kind. Starting off with Lysandra, who did such an amazing job at explaining the features of resort. We owe her a BIG thank you as we received a complimentary upgrade to one of their luxury sea view suites!!! It was beautifully decorated and had a shower in the middle of the room… very romantic. Not to mention the balcony with a pool had a terrific view of the beach. The room was very clean, along with all the common areas of the resort, including the restrooms by the beach. My only complaint is that we didn’t stay long enough! Another shoutout to Hensley, who was so kind to us in showing us to our room and answering any questions about the property we may have had. Overall, we had a wonderful experience here at The Kontiki Beach Resort. We will be booking again.

Great resort.. they welcome you with a fresh coconut and each room has a beach bag with two pairs of slippers in it for you to use and take home! Very satisfied with the resort overall very clean nice wraparound deck that you can sit on.. fresh coffee all day long by the main lobby and very good. staff was pleasant and they were not aggressive about asking for tips. most times in the Caribbean they harass you for tips they did not at all.

I went here for my birthday vacation with my boyfriend. We had a great time the hotel is beautiful atmosphere amazing beach vibes was awesome mambo beach strip was great the food was amazing. The hotel just needs to work on the beds putting two twin bed together to make a queens was not cool but I was great. We had a blast!!!!

The Kontiki has the best beach section of Mambo beach. The sunbeds are big and comfy. Their unique feature is the sea water swimming pools spread between the luxury units. Most of the day you have the pool to yourself and the iguanas! So you get great hotel facilities at a top location. The only thing we did not like was the breakfast, overpriced and small portions.

I genuinely had a great stay here and I don’t say that lightly. The hotel itself is beautiful the beach, the pools, the views all top tier. The staff were excellent throughout, very welcoming and attentive, and the gym honestly surprised me. It’s one of the best hotel gyms I’ve used, which made a big difference for me. The only downside for me personally was the bed. It just didn’t suit my body at all and ended up causing some lower back discomfort during my stay. I understand that comfort is subjective and not every mattress works for every guest, but it did impact my sleep. That said, this is absolutely a place I’d come back to. I really enjoyed everything else about the hotel and would love to return I’d just hope for a different room or mattress setup next time. Overall, a great experience with just one thing that could be improved.

We loved The Kontiki! The facility is amazing, the staff were very friendly, the food is fantastic the Bluemax gym is top quality. The beach is the best in the area! The beach chairs are outstanding and service so great. Staff are so friendly. Rooms are clean and cleaning service is fantastic. Wed and Sunday are the entertainment nights, we didn't mind the music and enjoyed the background music at bedtime.

Great location and view but not a luxury hotel. The beach is beautiful, warm, and quiet. The rooms are spacious and connect to stunning salt water pools. The beach massage station overlooks the water, and you can have dinner overlooking the dock every night. It is gorgeous, but the problem is everything looks run down. The beach chairs have mold and nobody seems to clean them. We got to the beach at 10 am, and every chair was covered in sand and trash surrounded the chairs presumably from the night before. The flags are torn and faded. Our credit cards only worked on half of the machines for no known reason. The front desk workers are fantastic and knowledgeable, but the rest of the service staff seem to hate their jobs. As a 2 person group, we never had a meal shorter than 2 hours. You constantly watch groups of 4-5 people standing around talking. Most of the time when I made eye contact with servers they would just look away. Every time we sat for a meal we waited 10-15 minutes before even getting glasses of water. We reserved private cabanas every day (due to the dirty chairs), and after they first bring over your water and fruit, they never come back. We stayed for 6 hours at the beach one day and had 2 drinks. Both times we had to go to the bar and ask so we stopped asking. We would have spent much more money if people offered us food and drinks. It’s genuinely infuriating. The prices are slightly high but not completely unreasonable. It’s overall a fine hotel but NOT a luxury experience.
