The Kontiki

If you are used to a beach resort then this is place for you. Overall we had a nice time however the cleanliness and service could have been much better . We consistently had stained towels or linens but they were quickly replaced when we asked. I think the island just needs to get a little bit more used to tourism. We met a few nice people/staff here and there. I did see a lot of reviews about the noise but we have to say it wasn’t that bad . It definitely didn’t go all night long and it for sure wasn’t everyday. Please note that there isn’t a real pool experience here so if that’s your thing then this is not the place for you, but if you are ok with spending most of your day at the beach then this would be perfect. Also there are not many food options on the resort , you have to walk about 3-5 minutes to the strip where there are plenty of food options. Be sure to go into Downtown and explore the island as much as you can . Overall this was not what we are used to when it comes to a resort as we are frequent travelers however a good experience once we changed our mindset

Writing Our stay at Kontiki was a really enjoyable experience, and we'd definitely recommend booking one of the Luxury Ocean View Suites. We stayed in the far-right building (if you're facing the resort from the beach), right next to the gym. The suite itself was beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable. Housekeeping did a wonderful job, including nightly turndown service, and the room stayed nice and cold, which we really appreciated after long days in the sun. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we honestly loved spending time in the room. The pool was heavenly—we found ourselves there almost every day. The resort itself is gorgeous, well-maintained, and we had nothing but positive experiences with the staff and service. One of the best perks of booking a Luxury Suite is access to the VIP beach section. It made the beach experience feel much more relaxing and was absolutely worth it. We also loved the breakfast (not included in the room rate). The breakfast tower was perfect for two, and my husband surprised me with the floating breakfast one morning. It was such a fun experience and 100% worth it! A couple of things to know before you book. The resort is currently expanding, so there is construction going on behind some of the buildings. During our stay, we didn't find the construction to be much of an issue. The bigger nuisance was the noise from the beach club, which goes late three nights a week, and the gym next to our building, where loud music started around 7:00 a.m. most mornings. The hotel does provide earplugs, and we'd read reviews beforehand, so we came prepared with a sound machine, which definitely helped. One thing we did wish the resort offered was some complimentary beach gear. Aside from the daybeds, they don't provide items like snorkel equipment, pool noodles, or floats. It would have been a nice touch, especially for a beachfront resort. Thankfully, there are several shops within walking distance, so we were able to easily pick up sunscreen and a snorkel mask. Overall, we had a great stay. If you're considering Kontiki, I would absolutely recommend splurging on one of the Luxury Suites. From what we observed, the standard rooms seem to offer a different experience, and in this case, you really do get what you pay for. If you come prepared for a little noise, you'll likely have a wonderful stay like we did.

My friends and I enjoyed a girls 30th birthday trip at this amazing beach resort. We didn’t know what to expect but the reviews online created high hopes for us. Upon arrival and throughout the duration of the trip, our guest services rep, Hensley made the celebration worthwhile - from the warm welcome, bright smiles, and willingness to make us feel comfortable - his kindness, professionalism, and jovial spirit awakened our appreciation for humanity and made the joys the trip so much more vibrant. Thank you Hensley for everything, you’re truly one of a kind.

We loved our stay at the Kontiki! The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. The most memorable part of it all was handsome Hensley! He took very good care of us and made us feel like family. Whenever we needed him, he was there with a smile on his face. He made us all fall in love with Curacao. Thank you Hensley!! We will never forget you.

We arrived a little nervous. This was our very first holiday with our daughter, just six months old. Then the doors opened, and everything changed. Raigen and Jonathan welcomed us like family. The hostesses greeted us with warm smiles the moment we stepped inside. From that first hello, we knew we were in good hands. The location is simply stunning. The sea, the light, the calm. Every corner invited us to slow down and breathe. With a baby, that peace meant everything. The service was excellent from start to finish. Attentive, but never intrusive. Kind, but always professional. The team thought of things before we even asked. And it is wonderfully child-friendly. We felt relaxed with our little one, day and night. That comfort turned a first trip into a real adventure. Thank you, Raigen, Jonathan, and the whole team, for making our daughter’s first holiday one we will never forget. We came as three.
