The Kontiki

We arrived a little nervous. This was our very first holiday with our daughter, just six months old. Then the doors opened, and everything changed. Raigen and Jonathan welcomed us like family. The hostesses greeted us with warm smiles the moment we stepped inside. From that first hello, we knew we were in good hands. The location is simply stunning. The sea, the light, the calm. Every corner invited us to slow down and breathe. With a baby, that peace meant everything. The service was excellent from start to finish. Attentive, but never intrusive. Kind, but always professional. The team thought of things before we even asked. And it is wonderfully child-friendly. We felt relaxed with our little one, day and night. That comfort turned a first trip into a real adventure. Thank you, Raigen, Jonathan, and the whole team, for making our daughter’s first holiday one we will never forget. We came as three. We left with a memory for life. See you next year!

I stayed at Kontiki Beach Resort with my daughter to celebrate her 30th birthday, and overall we had a wonderful experience. The resort is beautiful, our room was exactly as pictured, and the floating breakfast exceeded our expectations. Most of the staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The beachfront cabanas were amazing, and the bartenders provided exceptional service throughout our stay. Our biggest disappointment was our arrival experience. I paid for the resort's private airport transportation, which was advertised with champagne, but we were picked up in an older, worn vehicle and there was no champagne. Since this was the beginning of a milestone birthday trip, it was a disappointing first impression. We also experienced some challenges with transportation during our stay. The resort indicated they would help us arrange taxis as needed, but instead they repeatedly relied on the same driver, which nearly left us stranded one evening. Fortunately, the organizers of one of our excursions introduced us to Gregori Henriquez Transport. Their Kumbai app made scheduling rides incredibly easy, and the drivers were consistently punctual, often arriving early, and very accommodating. As two women traveling alone, having reliable transportation gave us tremendous peace of mind. The only other issue was our room temperature. It was extremely cold, and despite trying to adjust the thermostat, nothing changed. When we contacted the front desk, we were simply told to "play with it," which was not helpful. After requesting maintenance, we learned that the thermostats were not actually functional and had to be manually adjusted using tools and a ladder. Despite these issues, we truly enjoyed our stay. Kontiki Beach Resort is in a great location, close to shopping, restaurants, and beach events, making it an excellent home base for exploring Curaçao. I would absolutely recommend the resort, but I would skip the private airport transportation and arrange transportation independently instead. This version keeps the review balanced by highlighting the resort's strengths while providing constructive feedback about the areas that could be improved.

We loved the room and the overall atmosphere of the hotel. It was very calming and relaxing, making it the perfect place to unwind. One of the highlights was the beach, where it was always easy to get a chair since they were reserved for hotel guests—a really nice touch. The food and beverages at the beach club were excellent, making it convenient to enjoy lunch while spending the day by the beach. Breakfast was also delicious, with a great variety of options that we thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was my second time staying at The Kontiki. I absolutely love the resort. The proximity to the beach, bars, and restaurants are superb. I was also very pleased with the customer service at the resort. This time I stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment was a nice size and equipped with all the necessities. There were a few things in the apartment that were old/dated and need to be cleaned or removed. For example, the couch in the living room area was extremely dirty to the point that I refused to sit on it. There were also several large marks/holes in the walls throughout the apartment which also could use repair. These things brought down the luxury feel of the space to more of a low budget motel. Other than that, the other furniture and accents in the apartment was very nice including the large wooden dining table, adequate closet space, and walk in shower. Brunch up at Mood Beach is a must! So much fun every time! Overall, I love The Kontiki and I will be back however, I will choose a different room type.

The staff was pleasant, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile. Angelo was exceptional. He consistently checked on me, provided better directions for my excursions, and even called my destination to help me. His and all of the Front Desk team members customer service made a lasting impression. Unfortunately, the accommodations partially did not match the service. The TV signal was unreliable, the internet was too slow to complete my homework efficiently, and my room was not properly cleaned every day. Angelo and the staff deserve recognition, and with some improvements to housekeeping, maintenance, and internet service, this could be a more amazing place to stay. Guests should also be aware to bring their own adapter to charge their electronics and that you’re not going to leave.

This was an amazing experience the hotel is located in a prime location not too far from anything. Our room was clean and the staff were very attentive and kind. Hensley our concierge was extremely helpful when and always made sure we were taking care of. Lysander was funny, kind, and very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions for the island. The hotel had the perfect atmosphere whether you are here to relax or have a good time. You can hear the dj through the night from your room but if you are a light sleeper it will not be a problem the hotel provided complimentary ear buds and eye mask for sleeping. It is worth every penny and I will be returning. The plunge pool cleaning service and nightly turn down were an unexpected touch that I have not experienced at any other hotel.

I had an outstanding experience at the Kontiki Inn, thanks to Hensley in Guest Services. From the moment we arrived, Hensley was warm, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making our stay enjoyable. He went above and beyond to answer our questions, accommodate our needs, and ensure everything was taken care of with a smile. Excellent customer service like Hensley's is hard to find, and he truly made our visit memorable. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail reflect incredibly well on the Kontiki Inn. Thank you, Hensley, for making our stay such a great experience we look forward to coming back!

The Kontiki has beautiful grounds. We really enjoyed our stay, the room was extremely clean, the grounds were well cared for, the beach was amazing and we never had any issues getting a sunbed. The pools are gorgeous and never have many people in them so it is great if you want less people around. All of the staff was super kind and friendly. Maid service was great. We opted for the included breakfast and it was well worth it. It is in walking distance to many beachfronts as well as restaurants and shops to browse. Should we ever return to Curacao, we definitely will stay at The Kontiki again. We loved our stay! There were only two things we didn't like, one was that you had to go all the way to the front desk to get a fresh beach towel each time you needed one. There really should be a towel hut out by the beach for convenience. The second was that the hotel does not have small washcloths. They leave fresh hand towels and bath towels in the room daily, just no washcloths. Luckily we had disposable face towels that we brought and were able to use as washcloths through the week as they were thick and durable and the same size as a regular washcloth so they worked perfect for us.
