We stayed at Toto blue because according to Bookings it was the 2nd best hotel in town in the luxury hotels, had a Boutique name, had nice photos and surprisingly decent reviews and we had a spend a night in Bacalar in the middle of an extended trip in Yucatán, Belize and Guatemala. Well it has Boutique prices, and that’s it! We had a suite, which looked like a very bad room by México standards, the hotel is so noisy you can hear the staff conversation at the reception, and when it comes to Boutique service, they fail on all counts: no towel if not hours after we checked in with a nice smell of greasy chicken, no ice at the bar, we had to do an early check out and they have no service before 8:30 am, not even a coffee even though we asked for it the night before, the sink had no water pressure, ... Why extend much longer, it is a complete rip off at over 200$ a night which by MEXICO standards gets you in general a superb hotel with superb service!

Beautiful place! We only stayed a night, but we loved the colorful location with all its details. It was perfectly located and we loved the smell of the rooms! Also the lagoon can be reached by foot within 5-10 minutes. It has its own starbucks and the staff is very friendly. Only two little things that weren't perfect: it gets pretty loud during the night (many dogs are barking and a lot of traffic on the street) and the breakfast in only partly included and wasn't good - but that's a general thing in Mexico we learned, so I would still recommend this place. We simply felt in love with the terrace and all the colours.

My wife and I spent two nights in this hotel in September 2017. Perfectly placed a block from the main square. Clean, bright and fresh, this small hotel has just been re-painted (responding to a review from April) and is now spotless. The hotel is very clean and decorated in very good taste. The hotel is not big and feel really like a boutique hotel! Great rooms for couples, with a spacious bedroom and a spacious shower room that look amazing. We feel that the owners have invested there for all the details. There is also smart LED T.V with a lot of movies! We were there two nights and greatly enjoyed. Although the hotel is not on the lagoon you can take a cheap cab ride (30 pesos) to reach to the lagoon area (where you take boat trip) or a 5 minute walk to the lagoon area where there is no boat trip. The hotel always has soft relaxing music in the public area and there is also a roof with chairs and a swing that you can hang out. I do not recommend the breakfast in the restaurant, the service in the restaurant was lazy and Components felt not fresh and very poor. Wi-Fi was fine

My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon in Mexico and while we visited lake bacalar. The rooms were perfect and very comfortable with all the amenities one would expect from home. The bathroom is exceptional in its design. Super comfy bed! Breakfast was comfortable and very tasty. Sebastian was an excellent concierge and exceeded our expectations with spot on recommendations for food and leisure. A great surprise !

We had pre booked and paid but on arrival they initially said we didn't have a reservation, when that was sorted they then asked for payment and it took some time to convince them the room was pre paid. The room was fine well decorated with all the amenities but...

The room was fine well decorated with all the amenities but a lot of construction noise from the building next door. The rest of the hotel seemed to be a work in progress as tiles were being laid on the roof terrace, the room that was advertised as a guest lounge was being used as a store room and other places looked unfinished. Having said that the location was good and we got a good nights sleep

What stood out most of staying here is how hospitable the host was. We were able to check in much earlier than the check in time (10a, while check in is at 3p) and still catch an excellent breakfast at the hotel restaurant - which is situated on the courtyard....

What stood out most of staying here is how hospitable the host was. We were able to check in much earlier than the check in time (10a, while check in is at 3p) and still catch an excellent breakfast at the hotel restaurant - which is situated on the courtyard. The pretty rooms are all around the courtyard - which made me fear for noise, but there was none at night. The owner was also super helpful by offering to drive us to a kayak place. The hotel is located 1 block away from town square - so not sure why another reviewer is complaining on the location as it could barely be more central than this.

I was very pleased with my stay at this boutique hotel. The owners went out of their way to accommodate our needs. It is not a luxury hotel but it is very comfortable and clean. Walking distance from restaurants and stores. Will definitely return.
