We had an incredible stay at The Edition! We were very excited to stay at this new hotel, and it did not disappoint! We’ve stayed at other Editions, and this property had the most beautiful, well-maintained grounds by far and a very spacious, clean room. The view of the ocean was stellar. Most importantly, the staff was incredible! They truly went above and beyond! Alberto at the pool and Emmanuel and Manager Ana M. at the Kitchen were so thoughtful and made our trip! We can’t wait to return!!

I know some had issues with staff, but we didn’t have an issue with a single staff member (the GM even brought out bags to our room HIMSELF so we didn’t have to walk back to the bell desk). No one seemed above or below anything and was super helpful. The drinks were great and while I’d read the food was so so I had a really great meal at all the restaurants we went to Ki’is for dinner, the kitchen for breakfast and both the pool restaurant and so’ol beach club. They also have deals with the neighboring properties (st Regis and Auberge Etereo) so you can dine and visit other properties without much hassle or distance. The property is STUNNING and feels five star - our room had a pool and it was beautiful and perfect temperature - all while being not crazy expensive. Highly recommended!

Beautiful resort, well appointed and the best customer service I’ve experienced in the Cancun area and any Marriott property. Attention to detail was there in all aspects of service, the food was incredible - ranging from the poolside food to the dinners. The staff is so helpful and friendly, went out of their way to coordinate spa bookings, transportation, reservations and events. This is the second time at the location and the only place I will stay in the area.

Check in was smooth with a modest suite upgrade given to us. But that’s where the good part ends. The food at all the restaurants wasn’t mediocre. Though sometimes the service at the restaurants was decent. My husband and I were celebrating our 26th anniversary and the hotel decided to hide us by the beach so the other conservative families wouldn’t have to watch us (a gay couple) celebrate our milestone event in the restaurant. The ocean is clean but way too shallow, probably about 3 feet deep. We decided to pay for an upgrade to the Obsidian Suite but it had massive water leak in the living and didn’t look like the pics in the app. (It turns out that this hotel upgrades straight couples to this suite on a complimentary basis but we had to pay for it.) The hotel staff can certainly use lots of diversity and inclusion training. We won’t be back until they get it.

Toro at St Regis was our favorite. Ki'is short rib was my favorite meal. Have to get French Toast from Kitchen (we ate it everyday) and the tortillas everywhere were the best I ever had. 4) Rooms were amazing. We got upgraded to an Obsidian Suite which was ridiculous. 5) Staff are superb. So nice and attentive. I used the Bonvoy app for everything and all my requests were fulfilled immediately. 6) Bar at Edition is amazing, St Regis bar is average at best. Drinks were also very good at both hotels. Negatives 1) Communication with hotel before arrival extremely poor. Emails unanswered, 3 day response times, phone calls not returned. That really pissed me off. Asked to speak with manager twice and he/she never got back to me. Hence why we got upgraded upon arrival. 2) Main pool was under construction for 2 weeks! This sucked but will hopefully not be the case when you go. Beach pool and the beach were great. 3) I got very sick after eating at the pool for dinner. My wife got sick when we got home. Read that another couple got sick at Sol as well. We had lunch there twice and it was good, but dinner not so good. I would definitely go back as most of the negatives are temporary and can be fixed. The food or water in Mexico I guess don't' agree with me. Property wise I'd be hard pressed to find a more beautiful spot with St Regis right next door. Don't think you can go wrong with either hotel.

The beach is beautiful and the staff is lovely. I particularly loved the tennis facilities on site and the spa here!! Will be back to Kanai. Gracias ;)

Our experience at the Edition was truly unforgettable. Let me tell you what we were celebrating and how old we are so you can have a point of reference. We went to celebrate the beginning of our honeymoon—we’re both 28 years old. The first thing I’d highlight was the staff’s attention. Simply exceptional. Joshua was the one who supported us throughout our stay, always making sure everything was going exactly as we had imagined. They even prepared a beautiful surprise for us. On the beach, Ernesto took amazing care of us—such a great attitude and incredibly polite. Our dinner at Kitchen wouldn’t have been the same without Marcos, truly a wonderful person and such an attentive server. The food was delicious. We recommend not skipping Ki’is—definitely try the octopus and short rib if you're into those. And don’t miss the tlayuda and the brioche bread dessert at Kitchen. We would absolutely come back. Food was great and Marco was wonderful. The setting is fantastic and Marco’s knowledge of tequila is unmatched! We are staying at the St. Regis next door and are certainly glad we made the trip over. I’d say this was one of our best dinners on this trip.

A beautiful property but several basics missing: 1) they desperately need an app or some other way of sharing information about the hotel. To get a menu free restaurant you have to walk to eat restaurant and menu sent you online. Don’t have any prices. There’s no way of knowing how the gym is open for and you don’t get a map of the resort. These may seem like small things, but when you’re trying to relax, it’s important to know what’s going on. Same applies to activities the only place you can find out about this is in the front desk which is not convenient to walk to you every single day you stay. how much every other five stars help in Cancun has an app you can download with all of this information. 2) both restaurants are designed beautifully, but the food is incredibly similar at the Cheek. It needs to be more variety. 3) there is no café place to get a coffee outside of restaurants and it’s not possible to get a smoothie or juice or you can get any fruit in southern ordering room service.

My wife and I stayed in the 2 King suite and had Joshua as our guest manager. He handled every request and anticipated our needs. He really elevated the experience! met two of the chefs, Paola and the chef from Kitchen. Food was amazing! As a vegetarian, I often struggle with food choices, but not here! Also, ask for secret menu items for vegetarians, and they are happy to accommodate. Eli, Ivan, Johnathan, and Paco were among many staff members that assisted us and they were so friendly and attentive. This is really a place where you can relax and be pampered. It’s most definitely luxury if that’s what you’re looking for. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I stayed from May 12-16. The staff is super friendly and one person in general Adriel from The Kitchen is the man. When we things wen terrible wrong was a dinner first . We went to a restaurant name Kists in the property and the food was cold and terrible. They were trying to accommodate between Joshua and Jacob . The story doesn’t end there. On May 14th at the main pool area I was given a drink called Suero by Pedro: the drink consisted of lemon and salt with gas water. He said to dehydrate the body . That night we went for dinner at the kitchen and I was not feeling to well. I got up at 5:15am with my heart rate it 146 and BP of 212/110. I couldn’t control the heart rate. My wife contacted the hotel and EMS came but they were more scared than I was. They drove me one hour away from the hotel to a hospital in Cancun Gilia . They were closer location at 10 minutes but for some reason they took me to a hospital 1 hour away . My wife in tears and the paramedics scare I felt unsure about the situation. We arrived and the first thing they asked was for payment otherwise they wouldn’t take me. We paid $2050 and they took 40 minutes to see me even when my heart rate was 120 . They wouldn’t do an EKG without another $1450 payment. The person collecting the money says if you cannot pay then we can discharge you. Concerned I was having a heart attack. I was scared and yet confused. How the hotel can contract with a Hospital that is private and not make sure the guest have the best available. The hospital didn’t even have a cardiologist. We left and they told us to get a taxi out side. I think in situations like that and the type of hotel their procedures should have been a little different. To ensure when the guest arrives they feel safe in any situation. I don’t blame the staff but the overall protocols . What happened if I would have died? Why not ensure the guest? I know there is travel insurance but the safety and wellbeing of guest shouldn’t be left at the hand of a hospital system that would let you die before collecting the money to save your life.

Iban, Bryn, Carlos and Rafael were great hosts and made our stay very comfortable. The hospitality was out of this world with the whole staff. I recommend the EDITION to anyone looking for a luxurious stay. You will not be disappointed. 10/10!

Joshua was so wonderful helping us book all our reservations and anything we needed. The room is beautiful, clean and has so many amenities! We can’t wait to come back next year!!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Edition Riviera Maya. The service was outstanding at every area of the resort. David was our waiter extraordinaire at the Kitchen for breakfast, he made my birthday extremely special and carried the well wishes over to the next day, Bryan at the Sool pool took tremendous care of us. He adjusted the shade when the sun shifted and made sure our drinks were always cold and refreshed. Raphael and Paco at Sool for dinner were also excellent. The attentive service was amazing! We spent 7 days at the Edition Riviera Maya and felt everyday was an exercise in luxury and we can’t wait to come back!

Sool is a wonderful restaurant. Delicious food. Interesting, tasty, and well presented. Recommend the oysters. Paco was our server. He was attentive, knowledgable and very helpful. Beautiful setting next to the pool, overlooking the ocean.

There are different activities every day scheduled - both for a fee and complimentary - and one of them was a really fun complimentary cocktail making class with Miguel. Wish we could have stayed forever!

Had a great time with my husband at the mixology class tought by Miguel! The class is located at the KI’IS bar. We made 3 cocktails and learned about traditional and modern techniques. I highly recommend signing up for this activity during your stay.

This hotel and the entire experience was absolutely incredible. Do not miss an opportunity to stay here if you have the opportunity. The hotel is beautiful and the upkeep is second to none. Both of the pool areas and the beach are amazing. All of the service is perfect and everyone who we met on the hotel staff was great. We really enjoyed our waiters at So’ol by the pool - Marco and Bryan, as well as the bartender Angel and the rest of the team at the lobby bar. Every bite of food was delicious at all of the restaurants. The room was clean and having the plunge pool is 100% worth the upgrade - it’s amazing jumping in every morning. It’s not a cheap place to go but you get value out of every penny spent and it’s well worth the price! Don’t miss it!
