The setting is beautiful, the staff helpful and the breakfast was a treat. Why I did not give it 5 stars: Room 5 view is deceiving when looking at the website. Actual view is the top of a building, and the ocean is beyond that. The top of the building is covered with artificial turf. We visited the Tickle Pink for the fresh air, beautiful coastline and hiking/relaxing. Unfortunately, there is a considerable smell of smoke due to the fireplaces burning. We did get plenty of fresh air by hiking at nearby Point Lobos Preserve. It's spectacular!

The Tickle Pink gets a five star review for hospitality, comfort, service and food. Rosemarie greeted us with a warm smile and every detail and service that the Tickle Pink offers. She made sure we went to our room with freshly baked cookies. We weren’t in the room more than twenty minutes when a lovely bottle of champagne and chocolates were delivered. We were then reminded not to miss their spectacular Happy Hour in their Terrace Lounge looking out to the ocean. The next morning we sat out on our deck sipping coffee and mimosas while reading the delivered Wall Street Journal. After a great night’s sleep we ended our stay with a delicious brunch while sitting by the fire. We have stayed there many times. Each visit gets better and better. We left so very relaxed and happy. We look forward to our next visit. 💓

We were dazzled with our stay here... They pay attention to details to host to impress. I booked our ocean front room in February (we traveled in September). As soon as you open the door the magic start, quite an impressive view to the Pacific Ocean. Room is beautifully decorated, bed is so comfortable, great quality sheets, all super clean! First night you receive a bottle of champagne with chocolates, which we enjoyed in our private balcony, watching the sunset in the ocean, wrapping up fun facts about our trip. They offer as a courtesy too, every evening, a cheese and wine social. Nice buffet to enjoy with other guests, again, looking up the ocean. There is no restaurant at the hotel, they inform options that are near, we didn’t go to any. We had our meals at Carmel before headed to the hotel. Same place where they serve wine/cheese is where they serve breakfast in the morning. So cozy! Delicious options, and so neatly served. Before you leave the room for the breakfast you find the morning newspaper at your door (see, attention to details). Staff is so polite. Definitely this is a place I’ll return, highly recommend it! Advice is to book for at least two nights.

The lift wasn’t working so we never got to pool or gathering room. Have gone twice before and have a room with a wonderful view. Just be sure and request a room with a balcony.

The spectacular views, elegant ambience, and exceptional customer service made our one night stay phenomenal. I appreciated the private, serene atmosphere over the other inns and hotels near downtown Carmel. The view from our room was breathtaking, and we would love to return in the near future.

This place is simply amazing! The views will take your breath away but don’t worry, you will rebound from breathless after your first night of rest in the dreamiest of bedding. After a delightful night of sleep, wake up to feel reborn watching the beautiful West coast views of the Big Sur. Don’t miss the wine and cheese reception every evening for sunset. It’s worth revisiting for it’s very well appointed for a romantic getaway you won’t forget! The staff is very friendly as well! We highly recommend this place!!

Came here first weekend in December 2024 for a weekend getaway with the husband. We both had a wonderful stay! This was my first time staying at an "Inn" and I was nervous about the room and amenities in comparison to larger chain hotels but, it did not disappoint! I will definitely return for another weekend getaway! We stayed in Room 15 and had a 3-day (2 night) stay Friday - Sunday. I selected this room because it was right in the middle and the view was beautiful. Yes, from this room you will get a view of the roof but, I highly recommend it still. Sleeping to the sound of the ocean is so soothing and waking up to the view with your morning breakfast makes you appreciate nature and learn to slow down with life! We also got complimentary wine and chocolates delivered to our room upon check in. Check In/Out - We arrived early and were able to check in 30 minutes early since our room was already ready. Upon check out we only needed to drop off our keys at the office and then they automatically bill your credit card. Very seamless with check in and out and staff was polite. It's wonderful that check out is at 12pm because you can sleep in and still get up to enjoy the complimentary breakfast buffet before checking out. Complimentary Breakfast - I was surprised of all the options. They had ham, bacon, eggs, muffins/danishes, bagels, granola, yogurt, coffee, hot tea, juice. Sitting in the cliffside deck was nice and cozy with the fire. We even saw humpback whales from a distance! We did not partake in the wine and cheese since we went out both nights for dinner. Room - I can tell that cleanliness is top priority for them because the room/ bathroom was very clean upon check in. The bed was comfortable along with clean bedding and sheets. Bathroom had a lot of towels and even some extra vanity amenities (i.e. toothpaste, disposable shaver, etc). I appreciate all the extra towels! There is a small fridge with some complimentary bottled waters along with Nespresso coffee machine, but we didn't use it. Facility - The location of the inn is up a small winding road behind the Hyatt hotel. It becomes more of a shared road but, we never had issues with other cars. The parking lot is on smaller side but, we didn't have issues with parking our highlander. We walked around the first night to see the other room locations and visit the senator's cottage. This was further on the other side and by the garden hot tub so it's more secluded. The new ocean hot tub overlooking the ocean was nice. The husband and I went in it the first night around 7pm and it was still beautiful to see the stars and faint view of ocean in the dark and hear the sounds of the ocean. It was also a plus that we got to enjoy it all to ourselves! I was surprised that when we walked around we didn't see that many other people on the facility that it felt almost like it was just us. We ran into one other couple who looked like they just checked-in and when we went to breakfast the most people on the deck with us were 2 other couples so, it didn't feel crowded at all vs large chain hotels. Cons - There is no AC. The first night we got in it was mid 60s but, since the sun was out in the afternoon it was shinning directly into the room and made the room hot. We opened the window and it only helped slightly but, it got cooler at night time and we chose to keep it open the whole time we were there . Also, the room does not have a light curtain and only blackout curtains so we couldn't partially block the window so, in afternoon we had to close most of the curtain. There was also no screen door on sliding glass door out to patio so, we couldn't leave this open at night.

We stayed at the Tickle Pink Inn in Room 33. The room was cozy and the views were spectacular. For $739 per night, the bed had divots that made it very uncomfortable, we were not offered any assistance for our luggage despite multiple sets of stairs, shower head is outdated and the breakfast was substandard. It’s not that our experience was bad however it was not anything to write home about or something we would repeat. Places are expensive nowadays and perhaps it is what it is….

This is a fabulous place to stay. The staff is friendly, the view perfect and everything in the room lovely. You will be served a delicious breakfast in the glass enclosed lounge with a view of the ocean. And each afternoon there is a wine and cheese reception. Our suite (#4) had a large balcony and a fireplace. This hotel is the perfect place to spend a few days. It receives our highest recommendation.

Tickle Pink is one of my all time favorite places to stay, and I've had the oppportunity to stay in many luxury hotels over the years. But the difference is that this one really takes care of you. From the champagne, chocolates and rose delivered to your room upon check-in, to the elaborate wine and cheese happy hour and delicious breakfast each morning, you feel very pampered. Add the jaw-dropping views plus hottubs and you are in heaven!

What an absolute gem. The location is positively breathtaking. The little touches such as sparkling wine and chocolates for all guests upon arrival or the daily wine reception take it to an elite level. The views from Room 21 are spectacular. The room comes equipped with a wood-burning fireplace which we were disappointed to not put to use given our busy schedule during our stay. When we return to the Carmel area this WILL be our hotel. Great views at this resort, But it is dated like 1970 Vegas. No AC - box fan (cringe) in the room. I wrapped pillows in towels to conceal “bed head”. Rooms need updated and odors controlled. Mediocre welcome truffles with cheese and cracker tray; disappointing breakfast. We arrived late and left early; enjoyed room at Big Sur Lodge more, and should have stayed there both nights. Beware that what we “paid in full” upon online booking was not true, they charge you more when you get there, “taxes”. Paying a premium for location.

This was the best hotel that we ever stayed in.  Staff very helpful and nice.  The grounds are very beautiful. The ocean views from room 15 were outstanding.  Service and food exceptional for breakfast and wine reception.  We wish that we would have stayed more than 2 nights.

The TPI is probably one of the best hotels we've ever been to. We've been there twice and it was home run each time. I highly recommend it. The views from the rooms are exceptional and the staff is terrific. Champagne & chocolates, continental breakfast and a wonderful cocktail hour (and a half) is a great time to meet new friends & enjoy the Pacific Ocean sunset views.

Aging up was a pleasure at Tickle Pink Inn! We have been to Carmel many times but this is the first time we stayed at The Highlands. We will never stay in town again! The Inn has a unique flavor in that it felt Italianate to us with the decor and the classical music in the background while enjoying the delicious breakfast or the wine and cheese in the evenings and the bubbly and chocolates brought to the room on arrival with birthday greetings. The sleep machine by the bed was such a treat. So much so that I ordered one for our bedroom at home! The staff was wonderful. So helpful and yes per another review entering the registration area and chatting with whomever was at the desk felt as if I had known them for a long time. I have never had this experience before. Thank you for making my birthday extra special. I know we will return. We stayed 4 nights which was perfect but longer would have been an added treat. Thank you to all at the Inn for a memorable birthday. Oh let us not forget the wonderful worded greeting, "Restabit Fortis Arare Placeto Restat!" Was it Latin? Oh no....finally figured it out. Genius. Grazie Mille

Lovely little inn in Carmel highlands. We only stayed for one night on our way through to San Francisco but wish we had been able to stay longer! We arrived just in time for the wine and cheese reception on the recently renovated deck which was lovely - local wines and delicious cheeses. Upon check in, we were pleased to discover a spacious and clean room with lots of lovely amenities. A few minutes later, to our surprise, a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolates were delivered to our room! A fantastic touch from a super friendly team. The views are amazing, but do be aware that given the location of the hotel, there is usually heavy fog either in the evening or morning. It was foggy when we arrived but we managed to see a beautiful clear sunrise :) I believe every single room has a balcony overlooking the sea so you can’t go wrong. There are shops including a Whole Foods just 10 minutes down the road in Carmel so we picked up some takeaway food from there and enjoyed a film night in our room. Have stayed in many 5 star hotels before but the service and little touches at Tickle Pink were far over and above other experiences we have had. Highly recommend!

The photos on the website show a spectacular view of the coast at Carmel, and I can say the reality is just as spectacular. The hotel is an older, somewhat quirky building but the owners appear to keep making improvements. (There is a new outdoor hot tub being installed that when open will have an astonishing view.) The staff was friendly and helpful. Because the hotel is somewhat sprawling and cantilevered, each room is unique and has distinct views and features. You may wish to call the hotel to speak through the views and features of the various rooms. We were in room 25, which has a fireplace, a whirlpool tub and separate shower, a private patio area and ocean views. But because of the rooms in the floor below, some of the views from our room overlook the roof of the first floor rooms. And some rooms have a superior view of the waves hitting the rocks and coast. The hotel offers many extras that, if anything, are "undersold." The afternoon wine hour includes an ample wine and cheese spread, with fruit, nuts, bread, crackers and many types of cheese and wine. The "continental breakfast" not only has the usual pastries, but also hot eggs, hard-boiled eggs, ham, bacon, and other items. And shortly after we checked in and got to the room, a bottle of cold champagne and small box of chocolates was delivered along with a nice handwritten note from management. Very classy. One thing to note: Due to the setting, there is only one restaurant one can walk to (at the hotel next door). But there are plenty of restaurants and shops only a short drive (or rideshare) away in Carmel town.

This was our second stay (for a week) and we wondered if it would be as good as we remembered it from six years ago. It EXCEEDED our expectations!!! We stayed in the Crow's Nest #28. What a panoramic view of both the cove and the ocean!!! Their new breakfast/wine reception room is such a great new addition from last time! We would highly recommend Flying Fish Grill- loved everything about it. Cannot recommend highly enough!
