This hotel is absolutely wonderful. The spaces and rooms are well thought out and lovely. There is a lot of space to move about, unpack, hang items, and they have everything you could need in your room. Our room had coffee, tea, herbal tea, a fridge with soft drinks and waters, a clothing steamer (much preferred to an iron IMO), quality toiletries, plenty of towels, pillows, etc... Everything you would want without asking or calling the desk. Our room overlooked the square across from the front of the hotel, which was super nice. We were walking distance from EVERYTHING in downtown proper. We walked to a ghost tour, all our meals, the Grove Arcade, Woolworth's, the parking lot, etc... all very easily. I highly recommend the hotel for cleanliness, service, comfortability, style, location, and convenience.
My one and only complaint - the power to each room is on a motion sensor. Normally, I wouldn't complain about this, but we did not know ahead of time. I use a CPAP when I sleep for apnea, and my machine was turning on and off the entire first night. The next morning, the staff was more than happy to put an extension cord in our room to the outlet behind the bed that is not hooked up to the motion sensor, but I did let them know it would have been nice to know before losing a night's sleep. I suggested on checkout that they add the information to their website/put some kind of card in the rooms so people know ahead of time. If you have a CPAP, you might want to ask them on check in to have someone go ahead up to your room to set up an extension cord for you.
Tip - the Health and Human Services parking deck is in the brick building directly behind the hotel and there is a back entrance to the hotel from that side. The valet was super busy when we were coming into the hotel, so we parked in the HHS parking by chance and planned to move the car later in the stay. We found out the next day that a full 24 hours in the parking deck would only be $12, so I actually recommend this if you don't mind walking less than one block to the hotel with your bags. (Or drop them off with someone behind the back door and have them wait there while you park... whatever you like.) This parking deck was fine for us as we were not taking the car in and out a lot, but there is no re-entry so just beware of that if you plan to drive to a lot of your attractions. Compared to the $28 for the valet, this was a great price for parking and we felt it was safe and well-kept there.

Hotel is located in a great location in downtown Asheville. Room was spacious and spotless and came well stocked with complimentary beverages, tea and coffee supplies. The staff was friendly, helpful and provided us with great recommendations for all of our inquiries. Cannot compliment their staff enough on how hard they were working to make our visit enjoyable and memorable.
Honestly we were not sure what to expect from the hotel and downtown area given the devastation this area experienced from the hurricane. Everyone seems to be working extremely hard to “normalize” their retail and service operations post hurricane. The hotel, restaurant and retail staff’s frequently have to multitask to make sure the visitors experiences are positive. They are doing a remarkable job. We had a terrific visit in Asheville and can’t recommend the Restoration Hotel enough if you are considering a visit.

With the help of our adult child he planned this vacation here. Let’s just say he moved me to tears as the place is just so beautifully redone. The hospitality of all the staff, and even the other guest was amazing. The restaurants, activities in the basement area, walk ability around town were very nice. For once I’m rendered speechless for a review due to the positivity of The Restoration Hotel.

We loved our stay here! Everything about it was great. The location is perfect, rooms are beautiful and cozy. We will definitely recommend and be back ourselves. There is also a fun bar downstairs and one upstairs on the rooftop too. Matt at the front is especially awesome!

Great shopping and hiking options.

The Restoration was an amazing upscale downtown hotel within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Remodeled into an urban hotel, this bank building was first constucted in 1932, rebuilt in '72 after a fire. The valet parking (additional cost but worth it) was a nice perk. The gentlemen were prompt and had our vehicle ready with a comfortable temperature during the unusually warm weather after sending a simple text in advance that we were ready to hit the town. A beautiful mustard couch sat centered in their lobby, just waiting for conversation surrounded by old books nestled in large, gorgeous bookshelves throughout. The suite we selected had ceiling to floor windows with a downtown view, a comfortable king bed, and more than enough space to enjoy. There was ample seating, a flat screen tv, and a gorgeous full size mirror. To our delight, the furniture was designed by Amish craftsmen in Ohio. The cleanliness was amazing, the space felt like we were the first guests to arrive. A wet bar was included, with an expected price tag, however sodas and waters were complimentary. There was not a microwave; however a public one was available near the lobby downstairs. The bathroom was spotless, provided with plenty of toiletries and cotton towels. A lush bathrobe and complimentary slippers were provided for 2 guests. A social with wine and charcuterie items were provided from 5-6pm for hotel guests, which was a nice touch before dinner. The hotel had several options for dining and entertainment. With music filling the air, The Watch was attached to the lobby and seemed like a great place to eat lunch and dinner with outside seating options; though we didn't choose to eat there. The Draftsman was a fun, speakeasy style lounge with the common dimly lit ambiance. Arcade games, bowling lanes and a small performance stage were the entertainment to go along with your cocktail or desired libation. The Observatory (garden rooftop bar with a view) just reopened but was being reserved for a party; this was a big talk amongst locals in the area but we didn't get to see it sadly. We noticed a little coffee and pastry bar was open in the mornings for those who like their lattes. A gym was available for the guests who kept to their routines while away, with updated equipment and free weights. Breakfast was provided at your door around 8:30am by way of a picnic basket. Adorable concept, but the options were unsatisfactory and supbar for such an elated stay thus far. An apple, a pear, 2 small muffins and 2 individually wrapped cheese sticks were loosely placed inside. Plastic wrapped utensils were provided with napkins. Though this could have been a more lavish offering; we wouldn't let that deter us from recommending this hotel to others and booking another stay ourselves. In a city like Asheville, the options are abundant for breakfasts and brunch.
