We stayed in the Primrose Suite for our elopement at Jump Off Rock and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Primrose was the perfect base for us. We enjoyed our free breakfast buffet and our dinner at Season's restaurant the night we were married. The staff were friendly and helpful. I look forward to a return visit.

Just what we needed for a weekend getaway! Enjoyed the brunch at Seasons, and the musical at Flat Rock playhouse. We definitely will be back for our third, fourth and perhaps a fifth time too! The lodge was perfect for what we wanted. The maintenance crew even started us a fire out in the fire ring. Awesome place to stay for the weekend or even longer!

We just returned from a lovely Thanksgiving getaway to Highland Lake Inn & Resort. Our room was in the Lodge. The room was spacious and the king size bed was so comfortable! We also enjoyed spending time by the fireplace in the well appointed common room. Breakfast was included at Seasons Restaurant just a short walk away from the Lodge. The breakfast was served buffet style with a nice selection of eggs, grits, pancakes, biscuits and breakfast meats. Our server, Susan, was very welcoming and remembered our juice preferences after the first day. The grounds on the resort are beautiful despite the many trees that were felled as a result of Hurricane Helene. We highly recommend the resort for a couples getaway!

Stayed in a cabin and it was wonderful! Will definitely be back and hopefully with an extended family. Will probably stay in one of the 3 bdrm cottages. Had the Sunday afternoon brunch at the Season's restaurant, Took in a play at the Flat Rock Playhouse. Had a wonderful evening at Burntshirts winery.

We had a cool and comfortable couple of days together in a quaint one room cottage. Everything was clean and we had a good nights sleep. The highlight was the superb meal at Seasons restaurant just across the road on the premises. Both the trout and salmon were delicious!

The grounds were beautiful although I never did find the lake. Enjoyed the quaint atmosphere of the lodge room and the gathering area. We stayed mid week so it was very quiet. The breakfast was very good but felt the dinner menu could use some tweaking.

As customers of the Seasons Restaurant at the Highland Lake Inn for a long time, my wife and I spontaneously decided to rent a cabin for a quiet getaway. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Although a wedding was taking place at the main building, we were able to enjoy the natural scenery in a quiet and relaxing environment. Our ultimate experience was enjoying another fantastic dinner from the Seasons topped with an exceptional bottle of Louis Latour Chameroy 2022 in a quiet setting at the cabin that evening. And as a result of our wonderful stay at the resort and its highly courteous and helpful staff, my wife and I plan to return in September and hopefully, once a month afterwards to recharge our batteries. My one and only recommendation is that after spending several hundred $$$ on the cabin, full course dinner with halibut, trout and chicken cordon bleu and a nice bottle of wine, Highland Lake Inn should allow you to have your complimentary breakfast and coffee at the cabin versus the restaurant. The sole reason for the trip was to get away from the crowd and having breakfast with a roomful of hungry/noisy strangers just ruins the ambiance.

Don’t be fooled by the website pictures, this is a 3 star property with all the ambience of an RV park. There are several pluses (excellent breakfast) and some negatives (dusty roads). Overall, the children there seemed to be having fun, and the dog walkers were out in force. We were looking (hoping?) for an upscale resort, and were disappointed. We stayed in the best suite offered, which was adequate at best.

Lovely grounds but hotel expensive and run down , needs a refresh and a decluttering. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful or friendly but this place is past its prime . Our room was a “suite “ very dark , no view , looking at close tall trees .For the price $400 per night I would expect the room cleaned every day but apparently we had to request it ( not told this at checkin ) , They did , as a courtesy let us check out late so we could watch the football match , and we had requested feather pillows and extra towels , all of which they provided . Buffet Breakfast first day delicious , but second day because they had huge numbers coming for Mother’s Day brunch we were sent to a dismal large empty room , like a school gym , and offered half the previous days options . If you want a quaint , charming , old fashioned and in need of an overhaul Inn with stunning grounds and other nice touches like a kitchen for guest use , this is your place but for me I would prefer the better priced option of a chain hotel like the Fairfield Suites . You know what to expect .

Been here five times now over the years. We always enjoy our time. Just be aware that the restaurant and bar isn't open Sunday thru Tuesday for dinner. The breakfast buffet is great though. Love the lake and goats.
