My husband and I booked a 4 night stay at Palafitos Overwater Bungalows to celebrate our 5-year anniversary/belated honeymoon. Our experience was even better than we could have hoped for. We received exceptional service from every staff member we interacted with -- special shout-outs to Alberto, Enrique, and Daniel for making sure we had everything we needed and more. The meals were incredible (highly recommend the themed dinners at the overwater restaurant). The bungalows are exquisite and so comfortable. There's a whole itinerary of activities every day, and we took advantage of the cenote/caves trip which we would definitely recommend as a fun Mexico excursion. So happy we chose to unwind and celebrate at Palafitos -- we can't wait to return!

The room and the view was beautiful. As soon as we arrived by transport to the hotel, Alberto welcomed us with a wonderful smile and two cold refreshing towels. He loaded up our luggage into his cart and each stop along the way to our room he pointed out spots to try. He highly suggested the “Cinco Elementos” dinner and it did not disappoint. Pilar and William were our personal butlers and did a wonderful job. My boyfriend and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and on that day they left us a nice message in our room. Each day while we stepped out, we came back to a refreshed room. The shower was equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and even a loofah. (This is important as it means that there is less for me to have to pack!) The infinity pool attached to the room was lovely to be able to view out to the ocean. The see through floors at the entrance, bedroom, and bathroom/shower were great! It all adds to the experience. I forgot to mention that when we arrived the refrigerator was already fully stocked with waters and beers. One of the nights we enjoyed a buffet style Mexican dinner on the beach with a very entertaining show. The aguachiles verde was my most favorite dish. Overall, it is a must try, at least once.

We are first time guest of the hotel. We had a lovey time. The weather is good. We loved the beach. The bartenders and waiters are great. We love the pool volley ball. And the entertainment staff is amazing. Jerik, Marco, Osvaldo, Kevin, dj Chris and Alex are amazing.

The first time we visited El Dorado Maroma, we talked to their travel club and they asked where is your dream vacation and my wife and I both said Bora Bora, he said well look what we have planned, that was 2011. Fast forward April 2025 and our dream vacation has been fulfilled. Our stay in the Palifitos could now have been more perfect, from the attention to detail, to the over the top service from our Butlers, Fernanda, Liz and William. Every member of the staff were friendly and professional. Thank you to all that made our Bucket List vacation a reality.

But what makes this place special is the people that work here. Our butlers, Yassir, Aldo and Aimee treated us like family. Yassir will make sure you have plenty of lotion 😉! Rene the beach bartender will make sure your drink is never empty. The food is so elegant and beautifully presented. I anticipated every meal because I couldn’t wait for the flavor explosion. The flavor pairings were unexpected but melded so well together. Every meal was incredible. If you are looking for an elevated vacation experience, the Palifitos is the place to visit!

We had the absolute best experience EVER at Palafitos. Truly from start to finish, the service of the entire team of people was extraordinary, the was food exquisite, the views were out of this world and if we could afford to come here all the time, we absolutely would. Alfredo and our butlers Aimee and Pilar were so special upon our arrival. We love how friendly everyone is, the beauty of the groundskeeping and landscaping too. It’s out of this world. I’d say the same for our experiences at the el Dorado Royale too.

What a beautiful place!! Definitely a relaxing experience but still has a little night life to enjoy! From the moment Alberto picks you up, you are treated like royalty! Our butlers, Pilar and Aimee were fantastic and responsive! We would love to come and stay again!!

Alberto once again welcomed us with a smile and even helped take care of a room issue. It has been several months since we last visited but Alberto remembered us and even the room number where we stayed in last time! Our favorite server Erik was scheduled to be on room service duty but was able to perform double duties and take care of us while we there. Such great attentive and personal service no matter if we were dining in the restaurant or hanging out on the dock. This willingness to go “above and beyond” and provide such memorable service is why we are already planning our next visit back to Palafitos!

Everything was excellent, we had a wonderful stay, all the staff attended us wonderfully, we would certainly stay again and recommend it to 100%, delicious food and incredible treatment, the room very clean and nice in the wonderfull location with a incredible view.

We truly could not have asked for a better honeymoon experience. The service from all the staff was absolutely impeccable. I would like to list a few of our favorites. Alberto, the first face we saw at the resort. So much energy and fun. His jokes kept us laughing! Fernando and Yarras, our personal butler's were so kind even running to catch us, and reminding us to lay back and take the time to relax. Our favorite bartender Clamente with his fabulous drinks kept us happy and smiling. We even enjoyed Leo over at the swing bar that kept our evenings fun! The overwater bungalows (both mine and my husbands dream honeymoon idea) were BEAUTIFUL! We saw so much marine life from inside our room through the glass floors. I almost forgot our favorite part. The FOOD!!! The meals were so fresh and wonderfully delicious. I tried so many things that I never would have eaten before! And was extremely surprised at how delicious every single meal was! Thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the most unbelievable honeymoon. We really hope to come back asap!

Palafitos is absolutely beautiful, but it was the exceptional service, especially from William, Alberto and Pilar that made it truly magical. You can spend your days on an absolutely amazing beach or over the water on your deck. The rooms are very nice with an ocean view to watch the ships, birds and of course fish through the glass bottom floors. The staff will spoil you!! Alberto will shuttle you where ya need to go and become a quick friend with a great smile and personality. Our Butler's Aldo and Janet took such great care of us helping us with trips and any questions we had. Great food service also from wonderful bartenders like Filipe to wait staff like Erik . The kitchen is amazing and try's to make your meals extra special. Thank you for a great trip!! Yes unfortunately this are days the seaweed comes in. They work very hard to clean it up as quickly as possible as it is something they have no control over.

Adults only And less than 500 total rooms on property so was not crowded, did not have to wait for drinks, always plenty of room in the pool(s). Daily activities for everyone (we painted a hat, shot glasses, question of the day, participated in trivia) such as aerobics, yoga, karaoke, silent discos, etc. Couple of swim up bars, lots of space on beaches, activities right next door (literally walking distance). Food is SO GOOD , did not have a single day worrying about meals. All in all, great place for a couples trip and the bungalows amazing if you’re looking to keep things low key and have the ultimate relaxing experience.

The room was in perfect condition, beautiful view and service was always on time. The staff was amazing and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Particularly Alberto, William and Pilar. I researched every overwater bungalow in the world with an emphasis on the most glass viewing space and this was the winner. Bonus that it is not as far-flung as some of the other overwater bungalow hotspots. But that didn't even scratch the surface of the magic of this place....

I researched every overwater bungalow in the world with an emphasis on the most glass viewing space and this was the winner. Bonus that it is not as far-flung as some of the other overwater bungalow hotspots. But that didn't even scratch the surface of the magic of this place. From the moment we arrived, when Alberto took our luggage and golf carted us to our bungalow, to the reverse of that upon departure, every second was magical. We were taken care of by Enrique and Fernando and while we sometimes eluded them because we are not used to butlers and often did our own thing, they always tracked us down and ensured we had everything we needed. Literally such sweethearts completely committed to making sure we were happy. The food at Palafitos was truly outstanding - and especially when Marlene was taking care of us, she was so charming and kept the wine flowing. If you like oysters, the oyster appetizer is SO good, we had it every day. The other restaurants are fine/good but there is no comparison in food quality so when in doubt, just go to the Palafitos restaurant. They have a couple special theme nights which were fun and over-the-top from a presentation standpoint. At Maroma, the daily beach entertainment was a welcome surprise - they get really great performers and a wide variety - we especially enjoyed the mariachis on Mexican fiesta night and the fire dancers. Some things were so flawless that you didn't even notice - like the wifi works perfectly everywhere, it never dropped, anywhere around the property, very impressive given the expanse of this place. Other highlights - Aperol spritzes at the Bali beds, chilling in the overwater hammocks, both swim-up bars at Maroma, the daily activities (one turned out to be our own private Spanish class and I also made my husband do water aerobics with me!), the sunrises, room service coffee & fruit plates in the morning. the hotel was awesome! we stayed 5 nights at el dorado maroma in the honeymoon suite and the service was amazing, staff was so great, food was great, all around it was great. special thanks to osvaldo for the salsa lessons, and to bryan for the massages! We moved to palafitos for 3 nights and the service was amazing! we loved having our own pool and deck, and the butler service makes you feel like a VIP. Aldo, Yassir, and Janet, thank you for taking such great care of us and making our honeymoon so special! Also worth mentioning that the restaurant at Palafitos definitely is a step up from the rest of the resort. All in all, this resort stands out because of its cleanliness, good food and drinks, and excellent service. They also were very helpful with transportation to and from the airport, and they have a lot of excursions and amenities that we didn’t even try because we were so relaxed at the resort. We would definitely travel here again!

This is our new favorite go to and we will definitely be back .

Stunning views, beautiful room. The dining at the dedicated over water restaurant was excellent. The service is over the top. Alberto was our golf cart driver all over the resort. What a kind man. Really enjoyed our time with him. Daniel and William were our dedicated Bulters and provided our every need. We so enjoyed how they took note of everything. Saw I drank Diet Coke so they stocked the fridge. Saw we loved lots of ice, so they started doubling down on our deliveries. One evening they decorated our room with balloons and birthday wishes, once they learned why we were there. We requested nothing, yet they picked up on all the little things Travel Tip: if you plan to go in the late spring summer months, the resort will be quiet. Which is great. But dining options become less vast, some not open. I would check that in advance if not doing the bungalows. Second, some times, in some years, the algae and seaweed can be pretty thick. They remove it every morning however is you have a bungalow close to the shore you may not have great water entrance for part of the day. Staying further down the pier and you are in the clear

The best resort I have ever stayed at hands down! The butlers are absolutely amazing you always have whatever you need within minutes! It was beautiful and I cannot recommend this resort enough! The all inclusive food was amazing especially the palafitos restaurant and mio Italian!

When I started looking for an overwater bungalow The Palafitos popped up. I was surprised to see they were in Mexico. I weighed the pros and cons of here or going to the south Pacific and decided on here. Amazing! I first booked a regular bungalow and then changed my mind to upgrade to the elite. I wasn’t able to get the elite for the first two days there so I was able to see both sides. The regular overwater bungalow is beautiful and faced the beach. There are a lot more fish and marine life to see from your deck. But there wasn’t much of a breeze and got very hot later in the afternoon. At no fault of the resort there was a lot of seaweed and every morning you would watch as the workers worked very hard to clean it up. Then we moved to the elite. Absolutely gorgeous view. We had a wonderful breeze to help cool us down in the hot sun. There wasn’t as much marine life to see but there was some. If I had to choose between the two bungalows I would definitely take the upgrade and book the elite. The view is breathtaking. The food here is amazing. I have been to many resorts in Mexico and hands down this is the best food we’ve had. We didn’t try any of the restaurants in the main resort except for the taco restaurant and Pepitos for breakfast. The taco restaurant had some of the best tacos we’ve ever had. The Palafitos Wine and Grill restaurant was delicious. Even the room service food was excellent. I will say that the regular dinner menu has very small servings. Kind of like tastings. So if you’re expecting large portions for dinner on the regular menu you’ll be disappointed. Still delicious though. Service….unbelievable! Anything you ask for they deliver! Our butlers William and Pilar were wonderful and so accommodating. After they learn your likes and dislikes they just go ahead and do it for you. We brought our cooler with us and every morning they would fill it with ice and fill it with the beer of our liking. I can’t say enough about the two of them and their service. I would definitely go back and we’re already planning a trip back next year.

Amazing trip from start to finish. This is our second stay at Palafitos and it can't be beat. Our trip started with private transport in a comfortable, clean Lincoln Navigator with a personable driver. The Bungalow is spacious, comfortable and nicely appointed with a comfortable bed, private pool and sun deck. We enjoyed the beach and the ocean. The food at the palafitos restaurant is excellent and we ate all of our meals there or through room service. Our outstanding service was led by our butler staff of Aldo and Yassar who not only attended to our requests but as the week progressed anticipated our needs. Outstanding service was also provided by Randy, Julian, Lazarow, and Arturo in the restaurant/room service. Daniel at the beach bar and the beach butler (Maybe Enrique?) were awesome. Berta and the rest of our housekeeping crew were excellent as well. We can't wait to return!!
