Can’t beat the beach location! Kaanapali beach is gorgeous and swimmable. Black rock is a 2 min walk away where we snorkelled with turtles and beautiful tropical fish. Would suggest bringing your own snorkel with you. Rentals are pricy. Grounds were very well maintained. If you rent a car, parking is $25 a day so budget that in. They charge a resort fee daily as well. Garden room was modest but clean. Beds comfy. Buying food at the resort and Whalers village is very expensive. $30 usd for a basic breakfast buffet. We did a lot of picnicking. Got groceries at Safeway (5 min drive). Theres an ABC for basics, snacks, beverages at whalers. Tourist attractions/tours, probably best to book off of the resort. The whale watching tour (Teralani) was fantastic though. 2 hours. Knowledgeable staff. Overall we enjoyed Maui! We toured to a new beach/site every day.

We had a great room with a partial view of the ocean and looking out over the pool area. We really appreciated having a coffee pot and tea pot right in the room. So many places are getting away from this and I think it makes the stay extra nice....

Fabulous authentic Hawaiian experience. From the grounds hand manicured, the friendly staff, the eukelele and hula lessons, to the fun Maui brewing and beach activities, all fabulous! Our room with the view of the ocean on our patio was a peaceful retreat at the end of a busy day.

The room we stayed at was really nice. Teresa our hostess took very good care of us , the room was always clean and comfortable she even gave me extra coffee since I like coffee. The hotel was very comfortable and the breakfast buffet was very good as well. We liked having the whaler village close by nice. And the Teraloni shack on the property was great for the whale watching event and the dinner sailing.

I highly recommend this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The housekeeping was very clean and timely specially Lyn. She was very polite and helpful. We enjoyed the beach and the nearby shopping plaza and restaurants around.

The Outrigger was right on the beach, right near great snorkeling, shopping, and dining. The nicest staff EVER! Sweet Mariuic, our housekeeper, wrote us a happy note and placed it on our pillows each day! She went the extra mile to make our visit special.💖🫶💯🤙

Everything was great, a little construction noise during the day, but the newly redone rooms were nice, beach a pool were amazing.Maui brewing company was right on property with good food and drinks. Our housekeeper Sarah was amazing everyday! Willing to over an above to make your stay excellent!!

The people are so friendly and outgoing. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. The hotel has a beautiful view of the ocean. You can see the whales jump from the front yard during whale season and sometimes see a seal or turtle resting on the beach.

Mildred kept our room in tip top shape and found us larger drinking glasses for our drinks and other things we needed. We were very comfortable here and we will return here again!

Absolutely a wonderful location - no question. On the beach with beautiful views of two other islands. A place where people come to watch the sunsets and see whales. Stunning. The hotel/motel is average and in the middle of remodeling which I've been listening to all morning. I mentioned motel because the doors into a third of the rooms is from outside. In January, most rooms have no direct sun, so people that paid for ground floor rooms with patios and recliners are in the shade all day. The $30 per person buffet breakfast is comparable to what is offered at a Hampton Inn for free and served in something that resembles a high school cafeteria. The $25/day parking may or may not included in your rate is convenient but the spaces are tight so you may want to consider the rental car insurance. The restaurant is the Maui Brewing company's with typical prices and a limited menu which cannot be charged to your room. The Teralani boats pick up passengers here for tours which is super conveinent. The down side is - they park their boats here to wash them and leave their engines running while parked on the beach - so you get an obstructed view and exhaust whenever they decide to stop by. Again, the location can't be beat and it is listed as a 3 star hotel which is accurate.

We had a great time touring the island and a dinner cruise. The employees are outstanding. They always greet you . The concierge was a great help with arranging transportation for us. The buffet food was very good and tasty. We would recommend this hotel to all our friends.

Nice place, spacious rooms, ample balcony space for 2 or 3 people. Select an ocean front view and enjoy the scenery of the beach and ocean on your balcony if that is your preference. On site self-serve laundry if you need it. Beach was nice and sandy. Close to Whalers village shopping area, a walk on the boardwalk along the beach. Maui is not as high traffic as Oahu and more enjoyable for that purpose. Car Valet service was nice and worked well. MJ-U was our housekeeper and did a nice job with our room on a daily basis. I don't know if all the rooms get that treatment daily, based on the handout check in sheet we received. Suggestions, if they had complimentary beach chairs to sign out daily that would be an added touch to take on a day trip or sit on the on-site beach. Also, the breakfast buffet is a bit steep in price, which we never tried. If they had a bed and breakfast inclusive, say for $256 a week for a couple or family, that may be more enticing. Some of the hotels in that section are pretty expansive to navigate walking around for what I could see.

We love the Outrigger Kaanapali Beach Hotel. This is a great hotel right on Kaanapali beach. The staff is exceptional from the front desk check in to housekeeping. We had stayed here last year and when we decided to return there was no question we would go back to the Outrigger KBH. We had a premium ocean view room with a balcony that showed us sunrise and sunset each day. I would highly recommend it.

I’ve never stayed in a hotel where the room was cleaned so meticulously and our stuff organized so well… It made for a wonderful stay.

Lovely time in Maui at Outrigger Kaanapali! We booked an Oceanfront King room and the view did not disappoint! All staff we interacted with were very nice, and we looked forward to the friendly “aloha” from housekeeping in the hallway each morning. Having beach access at our fingertips was wonderful, and nearby restaurants at Whaler were so convenient. We only had a few comments that may influence staying here in future. Room is more like a hotel room rather than a resort - mini fridge in room is fine but not having a microwave in it was not our favorite thing. Parking garage is very tight and can be a far walk to room depending where you stay. Maui Brewing’s onsite location can be difficult to get a reservation at - during our stay their online system was actually turned off, so we had to visit the hostess stand to make a reservation. In the end this was a great stay to experience our first ever trip to Hawaii!

Outrigger resort is wonderful! My husband and I visited for a week in April to escape cold, rainy weather at home. Everyone involved in Outrigger is kind, helpful and welcoming. The resort is not fancy, which we didn't want. It's directly on the Kaanapali (sp) beach and everything you could want is right here. It's a few minutes walk from Whaler's village, which has restaurants and shops. We saw whales, turtles, dolphins, and monk seals from the beach. Whalers sight seeing boats pick you up right from the beach. Can't wait to return!
