Andaz Maui At Wailea Resort

My husband and I absolutely loved the Andaz! We went for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. From the start the front desk and valet staff were so kind - when we got to our room there was a bottle of wine and a message congratulating us on our honeymoon. So sweet! The entire resort was beautiful and gives a romantic serene feel. We saw many families and kids but it didn’t feel like there was an overwhelming amount. We were happy they had an adult only pool which was great if you wanted to be in a more relaxing and quiet setting. We loved the poolside food and drink service, and the pool attendants always had towels ready for us. Another great thing about the resort is the location. We loved there was a shopping mall in walking distance! They had upscale stores, coffee, gift shops, restaurants, etc. We also ate at both restaurants on site and they were fantastic!! Huge shout out to the staff - valet, ladies at the market, front desk, poolside staff, waiters and servers.. everyone was so so kind and helpful. Everyone seemed so happy to work there. We highly recommend to any honeymooners looking for a place in Maui!! We hope we can come back again!

We had an incredible stay at the Andaz Maui while celebrating both our anniversary and our babymoon, and we would absolutely return. From the moment we arrived, the customer service stood out. A special thank you to **Hua** in valet, **Kamea** at the front desk, and **Nic** and **Aaron** at breakfast. Each of them made us feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and well taken care of throughout our stay. Their warmth and attentiveness truly elevated our experience. Breakfast at **Kaʻana Kitchen** was easily the highlight of our trip. We looked forward to it every morning. The food and service were 10/10—the variety was excellent, everything was fresh and flavorful, and the restaurant was very clean. We also celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Kaʻana Kitchen. While the dinner menu was smaller than we expected, our server gave fantastic recommendations, and every appetizer and entrée he suggested was excellent. My husband initially ordered the lemongrass chicken (which wasn't one of the recommended dishes) and found it to be too salty. The staff replaced it immediately without hesitation, and the new entrée was delicious. We really appreciated how quickly and professionally they handled it. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly well maintained. The pools, beach access, and overall atmosphere made it the perfect place to slow down and celebrate such a special season of life. As an expecting mom, I noticed several other couples enjoying babymoons as well, and it's easy to see why. The resort is relaxing, walkable, and has everything you need for a restful getaway. The location in Wailea is another huge plus. It's close to great restaurants and shopping, so it was easy to venture out for a meal while still returning to a quiet, luxurious retreat. Overall, this was a memorable stay with exceptional hospitality. Thank you again to Hua, Kamea, Nic, and Aaron for making our anniversary and babymoon so special. We can't wait to return!

Celebrated my son's 13th birthday at the Andaz. Zero complaints about the resort. Great location in the Wailea area. The atmoaphere of the whole resort was fa ily friendly and also gving that sexy and hip vibe. If kpyou're looking for a luxury resort that's great for families, couples, or anyone wanting an unforgettable Maui vacation, I highly recommend Andaz Maui. We made incredible memories here and can't wait to come back!

I'm currently staying at the Andaz and like to write reviews mid-vacation when the experience is still fresh. We booked through Costco Travel for a week. Pros: - Beautiful resort with plentiful and spacious public areas. The lobby is spectacular, with several semi-private lounging areas overlooking the balcony. It's peak season, but we've had no trouble finding seating at the pool and in general the resort feels active but not crowded. - The welcome is lovely and most of the staff are both friendly and helpful, especially with recommendations, pool chair setup, beach equipment, and the free shuttle. - The resort fee covers a ton of activities, some you have to sign up for in advance but many you don't. The hotel has a weekly schedule of activities (Sunday to Saturday) at the concierge desk that lists out the times for the cultural classes, fitness, live music, etc. - The breakfast is great - lots of variety and the setup (no guest cooking, i.e, a chef makes the waffles and pancakes instead of waiting in line at a sticky station to make your own) made it easy to get in quickly. We were in groups of 4+ and didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a table. - The spa is definitely worth it and priced similarly to full-service spas where I'm from, so it felt like a pretty good deal among all of the other resort markups. - Besides what's on property, the shuttle will take you within a 1-mile radius and there's plenty within a mile. It was also easy to get Ubers for the few things we planned further out. Cons: - We booked the basic room because the website didn't explain the difference between that room and the next level up, and it felt small for the per night price. The way the space is used in the bathroom (toilet and closet each in a separate room, plus a large shower) isn't bad, but it would be helpful if the website were clearer about room size --as a family we would've upgraded if it were clear we would get more space, not just a different view or bigger lanai. - Bugs that rhyme with coach. :-( I did a lot of research before booking about places with the best mitigation because I had a really bad experience on a prior vacation, so this was really disappointing and impacted my enjoyment, especially since I'm already strict about not eating in hotel rooms for fear of attracting bugs. (We had no open food in the room.) The front desk was responsive and scheduled housekeeping promptly, so I'm hopeful this was a fluke. The last 2 are *cons-ish because I think they're more about our personal preferences for travel rather than a reason to not stay here: - As first-time visitors, more clarity at check-in or in the welcome booklet you get with the room keys would've been helpful. As mentioned above, the staff were by and large helpful, but we had to ask about several things we would've preferred more proactive communication on (e.g., the fridge is in a hidden panel near the tv, the shade is controlled by a switch near the bed, there's a family lounge with a microwave, breakfast is walk-in so you don't need to use the QR code around the hotel, etc. - All of the upcharges and add-ons (like having to pay for certain mains on top of the $50/pp buffet fee) feel nickel-and-dimey after awhile, and it left a slightly sour taste in my mouth given that they weren't accompanied by the "above and beyond" I'm used to at luxury hotels. For example, one of our spa services had to be changed because a tech was sick and the options to reschedule didn't work with what we already had booked. In similar situations I've had, something has been offered for the inconvenience (e.g., a free-add-on, credit to the shop). I also named the special event we're here to celebrate when we booked the trip and wish that had been acknowledged in some way. Overall, I recommend Andaz and we are having a very good time. However, I was hoping for spectacular, so if I were to return to Maui I'd probably give my second-choice a shot.

We chose the Andaz Maui for our engagement trip and birthday celebration because of its reputation as a five-star luxury hotel. While we had an enjoyable vacation overall, the hotel itself fell well short of what we expected from a property in this category. Pros: * The location is excellent, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful, well-maintained, and spotless. * The complimentary breakfast buffet was outstanding and one of the highlights of our stay. * Valet service was consistently prompt, professional, and courteous. * After checkout, the hotel provided access to a lounge with showers and securely stored our luggage, which was very convenient before our evening flight. Cons: * We had to wait until exactly 4:00 PM to check in. Although we appreciated being upgraded to a top-floor ocean view room, the room itself was surprisingly small and underwhelming for a luxury resort. Waiting until 4pm was also extremely painful in the heat. * Our room had an ongoing ant problem throughout our stay. The hotel did send someone to spray insecticide, but no one wants chemicals being sprayed in their room while on vacation. Unfortunately, the ants returned shortly afterward. * While breakfast was included, Hyatt still charged extra for a separate coffee and à la carte menu. Charging $8 for a simple Americano at a five-star resort that already includes breakfast felt unnecessarily cheap. * Housekeeping did not clean the floors in our room during our stay, which was disappointing given the level of service we expected. * We informed the hotel months in advance that we were visiting to celebrate both our engagement and a birthday. While we didn’t expect anything extravagant, even a simple handwritten card or small gesture would have made the stay feel more personal. It seemed as though the special occasions weren’t acknowledged very well. * while they advertise beach towel and chair service, we tried and had to do it on our own. They did not set anything up for us and it felt very cheap. Overall, the Andaz Maui is a beautiful property in an incredible location, but the service and attention to detail simply did not match its five-star reputation. Between the pest issue, inconsistent housekeeping, nickel-and-diming over basic coffee, and the lack of recognition for special occasions that were communicated well in advance, we left feeling that this hotel falls short of the luxury experience it advertises. I would happily stay in Wailea again, but I would likely choose a different resort next time.

We purchased a last minute trip package to Maui through Costco Travel. We hadn't previously stayed in any of the Wailea Resorts, though we have frequented the beaches and boardwalks there. The Andaz resort is 10/10...from the smaller big resort feeling, to the ALOHA spirit, to the outstanding food and drinks, to the well-stocked and user friendly activity desk and beyond...it is totally a positive experience. Mahalo Andaz family!

My wife and I had a great time at the Andaz for our anniversary. Right from the personal attention given to us and the help we received for our early check in to support for the late check out, staff was quite courteous and helpful. The property is beautiful and all the pools were amazing. The activities offered at the resort such as paddleboarding and snorkeling were extremely fun and helped us enjoy Hawaii a lot. The housekeeping was excellent and it was impressive how well they kept the room and took care of our personal items in the room. We also had the opportunity of enjoying the spa facilities and a massage which I recommend. The breakfast spread was great and the wait was never more than 5 minutes long. I absolutely will stay here again.

The resort and views are SO BEAUTIFUL! Writing to warn guests to beware that "resort view room" is actually a parking lot view room. It is right across from the staff parking lot. When the staff arrives at work (4:00-5:00 am), their loud car music and car alarms will wake you up. If you sit on your patio, you will (only) have a view of the cars. Our first night, we did not realize this because we arrived late, and the cars' headlights lit up our room all night.

An AMAZING Stay at this gem on Maui. This property gives you the TRUE Aloha that you want and you don't realize exists until you are here. From the architecture, to the design an decor, and Hawaiian woods and plants, but mostly the Staff have the true Aloha Spirit. You feel welcomed from point one when you pull up in your car and the bell desk welcomes you with a fresh flower or nut lei and a friendly aloha! You'll proceed to the front desk who are genuinely happy to see you and want your stay to be amazing. The rooms are very nicely designed, open, an super comfortable, with separate showers and tubs. The multi-level pool, that terraces down from the lobby to the open grassy area means separate areas with separate vibes and great ocean views. They also have a large, adult pool for those seeking some quiet relaxation. The large grassy area that parellels the intimate beach, is great for events or for kids and families just "playing". They also have a luau, that looked great. Althought the spa is not huge, it has everything you need;sauna, steam; hot jet pool and enough therapy rooms and great experienced therapists. My family had appointments all at the sametime and we all thoroughly enjoyed our massages. The Kahana Restaurant has an amazing breakfast, and our dinner was creative with lots of farm-fresh local foods, and very flavourful, with good portions. We loved our stay! Best Resort on the Island of Maui.

We had a wonderful stay at the Andaz Maui! The resort is beautiful and the staff was great from start to finish. It has a little bit of everything, and my mom and I especially loved the adults only tranquility pool for some quiet relaxation. The food at the beach bar was delicious too. A five star experience all around, would go back in a heartbeat.

Stayed in the Akai Wing - Single King Bed. Rooms are on the smaller size, but you obviously are not there to stay in the room. Booked via AMEX so had the breakfast included which was fantastic. They have all the amenities - snorkeling and swim sports gear, beach chairs and umbrellas. The cabanas and fancy chairs which were for rental were often unused - would be nice if the Resort cut the price to a point where they were all utilized. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. Make sure to take part in some of the resort activities. The outrigger boat ride was a lot of fun.
