This was our first stay on Maui, and we chose the Hyatt Regency Maui to celebrate our 52nd Wedding Anniversary. The resort did not disappoint! Such a beautiful property, great amenities, and first-class staff. Upon arrival we were offered an upgrade to the Regency Club and loved every minute when using it. While on property for the 6 days we totally enjoyed all venues including the pools, restaurants, and wonderful landscaping. Our Ocean-Front King room was wonderful allowing us to sit on our lanai and enjoying the beautiful Pacific Ocean and surrounding islands of Molokai and Lanai. During our stay we were blessed to meet so many wonderful staff members and I would like to recognize those that touched our lives. Upon check-in we had the opportunity to work with Jennifer who assisted us with selecting our room, upgrading us to the Regency Club and surprising us with some beautiful wine and chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary. Thank you, Jenifer, for making our stay so memorable. You are the best and a testament to the Hyatt Regency team. We also had the opportunity to work with the Bellman, Lee. Lee assisted us by answering questions on several occasions while on property. What a true professional. Next, we would be remiss if we didn't mention our housekeeper, Connie. You are a wonderful, caring, and professional who always made sure our room was tidy and clean. Next, we want to recognize Kevin our server and Justin the General Manager of the Son'Z Steakhouse. Both of you made sure we were well taken care of and ensured our anniversary dinner was truly memorable. Thank you both for providing such a professional and enjoyable occasion. I also, want to highlight our visit to the Umalu Restaurant and Pool Bar and thank Alona and McKenzie for ensuring my wife and I had an enjoyable and delightful time with the both of you. Food and Bar Service was outstanding because of your tremendous personalities and professional demeanor. Thanks! Finally, please allow me to highlight some wonderful staff members that crossed our paths in the Regency Club. Lisa, Dade, and Sharla went above and beyond to provide top notch service when we were using that venue. These ladies were so professional, helpful, and always made sure we were happy with their service. All in all, a wonderful stay at a top-notch Hyatt property. Thanks again for making our first every stay to Maui one to remember for a lifetime. We will see you again very soon during our next visit to Hawaii.

Beautiful location, awesome staff. We split our time here and at andaz. Although it was a bummer to see the swim through grotto gone, it didn't spoil our visit. We received an upgrade to an ocean view room as a globalist and a bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Very thoughtful and unexpected. Club lounge is not as bougie as many of the others that we have visited, but it gets the job done. You can grab a quick breakfast or make a meal out of the apps if you ate a late lunch. Drinks are decent. Staff is great.

This was our second time staying here. We were greeted warmly and quickly by Jeff at the front desk and welcomed back . He worked very hard and was able to get us a room in the same location as the one we enjoyed on our previous stay. The hotel has completed a renovation on the lobby since our last stay and it is just beautiful. Lots of tropical plants, birds, and even penguins. The rooms in the Atrium Tower are spacious, well appointed and have a gorgeous ocean view. Our housekeeper was excellent and efficient. Shops were plentiful in the corridors, and meals in the restaurants were enjoyable. Morning Breakfast Buffet was well done and delicious. The pool area is undergoing a bit of transformation but was mostly finished. The times we attempted to use the concierge to book excursions didn't work well since there was only one person on duty and she was heavily involved with other guests booking and asking questions. Maybe a spot to leave our name and a number so they could call us when they were free would be nice. We didn't want to sit and wait for an extended time. But that was our choice. At check in we were told that we could use the pool area at the Hyatt Vacation Club that is next door. This was ideal because the Hotel pool was over flowing with conventioneers and 2 chairs together were almost impossible to find most days. The Vacation Club has a more tropical pool area and smaller secluded sections that felt less crowded and more conducive to relaxing for us. We were able to purchase drinks and food that they charged to our room at the hotel so a nice option My only critique at all is that the pool at the hotel can seem hectic and crowded with the new design. The giant wall on one end doesn't allow for smooth traffic flow in and around the pool. Since the renovation is not complete, maybe there are some plans to redesign these areas, but in the mean time... the next door pool was a great choice for us. If you get a chance the Night Sky Tour on the rooftop was exceptional. The gentleman that runs the program is a real pro and the area set up for it was very well done. A wonderful way to see so many stars and planets,, and a great view of the moon up close! Thanks for the great stay and for the exceptional staff.

My husband and I stayed at the resort this week and had a fantastic time. We booked a partial ocean view room with Hyatt points, then upgraded with cash at the hotel and were put in room 2126 (despite the room number, this is about 10 floors up), on a corner with windows facing the ocean on two sides! I almost didn't want to leave the room. (Thanks, Felma, you made our trip!) Tips/Pro's: - We read references that construction would be going on during our trip, so we were a bit worried, but we didn't notice anything other than guys by the pool affixing decorative plaster work (making no noise and enjoyable to watch). - We hung out at the main pool daily and thought a cabana was worth the $250/day as a splurge (we did that one day). - Onsite, we had lunch at the pool bar (Umalu) and dinner at Japengo. We'd recommend sticking to sushi at Japengo and skipping food at the pool bar. Our first cocktails there were very disappointing (mai tai and old fashioned). Frose's by the pool were better. Service by the pool was excellent (thanks, M.M.!) - Favorite off-site restaurants were Star Noodle (book far in advance or wait for bar seats) and Merriman's. Expect to pay at least $100/pp with drinks. We tracked sunset times and made early reservations for 30 minutes beforehand to catch it. - Check your bill when you're checking out. Both of our rooms had $25 towel charges (as if we'd stolen beach towels); luckily we could just text to get the charges reversed. There are beach towel dispensers where you need to check out and check back in your towels using your room key (bracelet), and clearly the system isn't error-free. - We didn't rent a car and just Uber/Lyfted to and from offsite dinners and the airport. Availability of rides was great, and we got two of our drivers two times! There's also a Hertz rental car location on-site. - The hotel has a convenience store and other merchants, so if you need sunscreen, a nice swimsuit or rash guard, you're covered. - We had Club level access, which we used for breakfast. There was a rotating selection of a few hot items like scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage and french toast, plus bread/bagels/english muffins to toast, muffins/pastries, cold oatmeal, fruit). During the day we picked up a few snacks like chips and cookies. Overall not sure Club access is worth the value unless it's what helped us get our room on a high floor. - You can use the pools at the Hyatt Vacation Club next door which are more lagoon-like with waterfalls and grottos. They have a fast, twisty water slide which was an adrenaline rush that made us feel like kids again! The children riding it on repeat were encouraging me with "You can do it!" so how could I not? ;) Cons: - Guests "reserve" chairs by the pool by putting towels on them starting as early as 7am. The hotel occasionally comes around and puts signs on those chairs notifying them that they'll clear the towels off after an hour if no one arrives, but we only saw this happen twice (and maybe because someone complained). It's annoying that you have to lower yourself to doing the same thing to get a chair. The day we had a cabana alleviated this stress. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would go back in a heartbeat! We were there 5 days and it felt much longer.
