Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa

We recently enjoyed a two-night kamaʻāina stay at Sheraton Maui, and what truly made our experience special was the genuine hospitality from several team members. A huge mahalo to Irene at the Front Desk. From the moment we arrived, she welcomed us warmly and made us feel valued as kamaʻāina guests. I'd also like to recognize Kuuipo and Mia at the valet podium. They were consistently welcoming, friendly, and set a great first impression each time we came and went. The biggest shout-out goes to Kimo and Noah at the cabana and towel hut. Their attentiveness was outstanding. Throughout the day they continuously checked in on us, making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling intrusive. Their level of service exceeded our expectations and truly elevated our pool experience. There were only two areas that impacted our stay. The duvet insert appeared to have a plastic-like material, which made it uncomfortably hot to sleep under. After not using it the second night, I slept much better. Also, the pool servers were difficult to flag down for food and beverage service. Ironically, the cabana attendants were much more accessible and attentive than the servers. Overall, the outstanding hospitality from Irene, Kuuipo, Mia, Kimo, and Noah far outweighed the few inconveniences. Their genuine aloha is what we'll remember most, and they are wonderful ambassadors for Sheraton Maui.

My friend and I stayed at the Sheraton for a few days this past May. You can't beat the location. Our room was an ocean view with a balcony, was clean, spacious, and roomy. I absolutely loved the pool and lazy river. It was so relaxing. We also took advantage of the cabanas on the beach. It was amusing to watch all the adventurous guests jump off the cliff in the distance! The Sheraton has a shaved ice stand by the pool, which is open with limited hours. They also have a decent pool bar/restaurant, The Cliff Dive Grill. I found the service to be outstanding. All the employees were helpful and friendly. The only downside I found to the resort is the restaurants. There isn't just one sit down restaurant for dinner. I know they have a luau for a show and dinner, and perhaps that is why, but something that is open later and isn't outside would be a great option. Otherwise I would definitely come back here again!

Pros: location, beach, pool, friendly staff, views, upkeep, cleanliness, activities and amenities on site Cons: small beds (fulls), crazy daily fees (everywhere in Hawaii), line for coffee in the morning was 30 mins, pool/resort adjacent to public beach but no bracelets required to use resort amenities for which guests pay a daily fee. Would still return (eyes wide open)—great property just be prepared for the additional occupancy, resort, and parking fees charged daily. Coffee is $9, mixed drinks in a solo cup $22, daily umbrella rental (necessary) $100. It’s Hawaii—we paid and enjoyed, but it added up!

Everyone at the front desk was beyond helpful. I thought the grounds were absolutely beautiful and had enough free activities. That was a very nice touch. I thought their breakfast was a little overpriced at $47 a plate for an adult and 25 for kids, but the food was delicious. Myonly concern and it is a deep concern with this hotel is they are right by the black rock area and there is no lifeguards in the beach and nobody the hotel supervising people. I saw so many people physically touching the turtles, taking selfies with the turtles surrounding them where they couldn’t hardly even move orget away from all the people there was a study stream all day long of people jumping off the cliffs I think the hotel or the has to pay for a lifeguard when you allow this many people on a beach to surround these poor animals

Titanium Elite member here. When booking, I went back and forth between the Sheraton and the Westin several times, but in the end, I think we made the right choice. I was upgraded upon arrival, which I wasn't fully expecting, and it made a huge difference for our family of four. Having a separate living area gave us much more space and flexibility throughout the trip. I walked through the Westin's lobby, pool, and beach areas, and while the Westin may look a bit newer, I think the Sheraton has the better overall layout. The pool area is more spread out, and there is noticeably more room on the beach. Having Black Rock on property for cliff jumping and snorkeling is also a major advantage. We saw a sea turtle and colorful fish right from the beach. The shaved Ice bar was a hit for the kids too! There aren't many other meaningful Titanium benefits here. I initially thought I was entitled to the continental breakfast buffet, but when I returned with my food, I was told they would honor it this time as a courtesy. Apparently, elite members are only entitled to a pre-made plate of fruit and banana bread. It's not a huge expense, and I think offering the full breakfast buffet to Platinum members and above would go a long way. It's a small detail that would make a big difference. I also spoke with the resort's Awards liaison, but the conversation quickly turned into a timeshare sales pitch. It appears the main restaurant is currently under renovation, which should be a welcome improvement, as dining options are somewhat limited to the pool and lobby bars during certain hours. It's super expensive, $6 non-alcoholic soft drinks, and can't get an alcoholic beverage for under $20, but to be expected in Hawaii. That said, a lot of people seemed to bring their own drinks down from their rooms without issue. Parking is also a bit complicated as well. Self-parking is charged by the resort, but there are QR Codes all over to pay for parking through Metropolis. I scanned the QR code because I wasn't told otherwise, and will now be refunded. The desk agent explained this is a pretty common occurrence, but I'll bet a lot of people get double charged and never know it. One final note: during the last two days of our trip, there were some dangerous swells, and we witnessed at least ten water rescues involving guests who had been pulled out too deep. Lifeguards responded on jet skis several times, and we also saw the Fire Department respond once. On at least two occasions, however, employees from the towel hut jumped into action and assisted swimmers in distress. A special shoutout to these young men, whose quick response may very well have saved lives. They deserve a raise! That said, the situation raised some concerns. The current safety approach appears to rely heavily on beachgoers alerting hotel staff, who then contact emergency responders. Given the conditions and the number of incidents we witnessed, having a dedicated full-time lifeguard stationed on the beach would be a worthwhile investment.

As Bonvoy members we got an upgrade to the Moana buildings right over the water. Although there are 3 buildings, they are all number 6 (makes it hard for guests). The rooms were great due to the view, even though the toilet flushed every 20 minutes. The facilities are wonderful, so pretty. It is right at Blackrock which is the best snorkeling in the area, and there were sea turtles right there. Room is comfortable, bed great, air works well, hot shower, coffeemaker. There are water stations, gym which was clean. The pool was COLD. Please heat it, lots of people were cold. There is a lazy river, which didn't really have any jets, but you could walk around, also COLD. There were not enough umbrellas, as everyone went out at 6:30 am to put out towels to get under the few umbrellas. There are two outdoor bars, with different happy hours, and we ate lunch there daily with our room credit. All workers and staff were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately there isn't enough help at the front desk, and in the bars at the main times of check in, lunch, afternoon drinks, and early dinners. Lines were half hour at times. Would we stay again, yes, just know the limitations.

We used free nights and points to get a ocean view room. The view was incredible. The room size was big. It did not have a microwave but you can get one upon request and it cost $35 for your entire stay. For us, it was well worth it. Water pressure in the shower was amazing. They have a text messaging system you use for anything you want and they are great at getting you anything you need. Self parking was around $39 before tax and valet was free or the first night only. $50 resort fees each day. They have free activities each day at the resort as part of your fees. There is a sign up online for those activities but that is not needed as they do not check it. If you download the Marriott app, you supposedly can use a mobile key. We didn't realize that until we were leaving. When you go to leave, you cannot just go get a luggage cart like at other hotels. I was told they are full service only and they must be the ones to take the cart to your room and load it up. The pool was amazing. Pictures and youtube videos does it no justice. Its long and windy with a little built in slide. Its the greatest pool ever! If you like running or walking, the beach sidewalk from the resort is shaded in the morning due to the sun rising on the other side of the buildings. Perfect beach for a sunset.

Just spent our 50th wedding anniversary at the Sheraton Maui. We have been coming since our 15th wedding anniversary. As always we had a great time at this beautiful hotel. Had a rental car but never used it. For dinner we walked to Whalers Village. Not only does this hotel have the best location, the staff are wonderful. Special shout out to Anjelica for taking good care of us. Hope to return next year.

We stayed in May for 6 nights and absolutely loved it. When we arrived, we were greeted at the front desk with a lei that you can take home. The bellman walks with you as soon as you check in with your bags which is very nice. The resort is setup like a complex (not a high-rise) with 6 different buildings – we stayed in building 3 which was centrally located with a balcony overlooking the garden area/pool area/beach. The balcony is a small half circle with 1 chair and table. We did not sit out there (due to 1 chair) and mainly used the chair and table to hang our wet bathing suits on – however the view was great. The room was a king and was fairly small-there was not room for a couch/chair etc. The hotel was built in the 60s so it is older but it has had some updates. The carpet looked old, but the bathroom did have some modern updates. We had no issues getting our room cleaned each day and they provide nice bath products. This hotel is located at Blackrock which is famous for snorkeling and the cliff diving ceremony. You can rent snorkeling equipment for a low cost by the hour right on the beach. The resort has 2 pools, a hot tub and a lazy river. You can purchase tubes to float on and at the end of your visit, you can get a brand new one in the package to take home with you. There was live music at the pool for a few hours each day (very low key). Pool chairs are hard to get. There are limited servers at the pool. You usually have to go to the bar for self-service. Bar tenders provided excellent/quick service. Drinks and food can be charged to your room which is very convenient. We ate lunch at the pool several days and the food was delicious. They did offer a breakfast buffet, but it was pricy, so we did not try it. They have a few restaurants on site which we did not try. They had no live music on the resort at night that I saw. They have a spa which we did not utilize. We did try the shave ice on site and enjoyed it. We did attend the Luau on site which we loved – the food and the entertainment were both great. They did not have an ABC store on-site but they did have a small shop with some souvenirs and other small items. Vendors seem to setup daily in the lobby and they were selling jewelry and other art. You can sign up for a welcome tour of the property and learn about the area during the tour. The hotel offers some cultural activities included in the resort fee and some for an extra cost. My husband did the ukulele lesson (free) which was one of the highlights of the trip for him. We both did the lei making (fresh lei/free) and enjoyed that. I consider this hotel to be in an excellent/prime location. There is a Beachwalk where you can walk to other restaurants, hotels, bars and shops (including Whalers Village). Ubers are not as easy to get in this area which made it nice that we could walk to everything. We only left a few times for tours and 1 time by Uber to go to another part of the island. Otherwise, everything we needed was in walking distance. We enjoyed our stay immensely and I would highly recommend this hotel.

If you just want to stay in one place on your trip to Hawaii, highly recommend the Sheraton. Everything you need is here. Pool , beach, nearby shops. You can schedule tours to local areas. The views from any spot you pick to sit and just soak up the sun by pool or beach or just lounge in the lobby area are amazing. You will not be disappointed. The only hiccup was the electricity went off for a few hours in part of the area. Other then that I had an amazing time. ♥️♥️
