Wonderful stay at Chanalai. Very relaxing.
The staff and management are super helpful and very welcoming. The ice cream and juice on arrival were the best welcome after a long journey.
On arrival security noted I had some mobility issues which I didn’t have at the time of booking and alerted the receptionist so we were allocated a room accordingly.
On the second day we noted that although there was a wide choice of breakfast there were some limitations for vegetarians. Thank you Executive Chef Korn from the bottom of our hearts for making the most incredible breakfasts for us including Indian aloo parathas, gobi curry, kachumber and raita. For this to happen Daisy was the staff member who organised it all so a massive thank you to you too.
I want mention Muai and Man in the restaurant for excellent service.
My husband had a fall yesterday evening on our way back from dinner so we asked the reception for help. I don’t know the two staff members names but they were excellent and very professional in giving first aid.
Last but not least a huge gratitude to the management team for making our stay happen after what had been a challenging time in our personal lives and had to cancel the original booking. Your complimentary actions with wine, fruit and champagne were a very thoughtful touch.
I cannot speak highly enough about the hotel and staff at Chanalai Garden Resort and look forward to returning in the future.
🙏🙏

I love everything about this place. The location, which is in close proximity to Kata beach, shopping area, food, etc. I also love how friendly all the staff were, and the delicious breakfast, the comfy bed and the beautiful view from the rooftop and the pool.
Daisy is very lovely and kind she help us a lot for changing our room right away and she help us to extend our stay longer with a good price. We love our new room with beautiful sea view. Breakfast is delicious. The beach beautiful everyday and convenient location
Not bad- too steep for comfort.
We just left here after 4 nights. The good points are that it is in a really good location - just at the end of Kata and a 5 minute walk to most restaurants/bars. There is a 7/11 opposite, lots of bars and the beach is a 2 minute walk...

We asked for a sea view and wow it was amazing view from one of the top rooms.
The pools were ok- quite large.
The resort comes across as a 3 star and needing a refresh. The room was old fashioned in decor and traditional, comfy very large bed. There was no iron. We were not impressed with the breakfast. The selection was not the best, the service was very poor. Each day I had to go around trying to find someone to get me cutlery and a cup of tea. The staff were not the friendliest at breakfast or the pool bar - appeared very busy and too busy to pay attention to customers.
Only 1 toilet worked by the pool in the men’s so it was often engaged for ages meaning I had to keep going back the room or wait for 10 minutes for someone to finish their businesss.
The gym had a decent amount of equipment but was old and dated.
The big downside side of the resort is the design- it’s on a very steep mountain side. We were aware of this when booking but didn’t realise how exhausting it was in the heat to get to our room. The lifts were very slow, so hot and didn’t go to every floor so wherever you are based you have to climb steep stairs. We are fit men but the steepness really put us off this place and on this basis we would not return. I have included some photos so that as a potential guest you can see.
The grounds are well kept, tropical in nature.

We recently stayed at the Chanalai Garden Resort at Kata Beach, and our experience was a mix of positives and areas for improvement. The location is fantastic—just a short stroll to the beach and a variety of amazing beachfront restaurants, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
The resort itself had its charm, but the Executive Club Sea View room felt a bit dated, and we noticed some noise from nearby rooms, which disrupted the overall tranquility. The daily buffet breakfast was decent, though not particularly memorable. However, the reception staff were truly outstanding—friendly, helpful, and always accommodating, which really stood out during our stay.
While there were enjoyable aspects of the resort, we believe there may be other options in the area that offer a better overall experience for a similar price point.

The facilities and staff at the Chanalai Garden Resort were 1st class. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels supplied each morning. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and nothing was a problem for them. Breakfast was amazing with everything from fried eggs, pastries and fresh fruit to noodles and Pad Thai! The hotel is a minutes walk from the beach and close to restaurants and a 7 Eleven! I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We chose this resort because of the beach location and the special rates and packages available on their website. As stated in other reviews, you just cross the street, go down a short alley and through an open air restaurant to get to the beach. Currently a pair of beach chairs with umbrella and little table are available to rent from a beach vendor for 300 baht for the whole day. You can leave your non valuable belongings, or just a towel, for coming and going. There will be locals coming by to try to sell you various items. For snacks and drinks just go to the 7-11 store that's across the street as well. Here are our pro's and con's:
Pro's: quieter area than Patong, beach access with beautiful views of the ocean and Big Buddha, extremely friendly staff, adult only pool for relaxing, pretty awesome breakfast with healthier options than in the US (fresh, less processed, less sugar), walking distance to shopping and walking/night markets, amazing housekeeping and food service staff.
Con's: our room had a slow draining bathroom sink that we reported twice but wasn't fixed, frequent sewage smells coming from the bathroom floor drain, king bed was two separate mattresses put together which made a hard uncomfortable lump in the middle, hit or miss with the restaurant food (the meal-a-day food vouchers are a good value on some items but it's only for a limited menu, not the whole regular menu), $90 charge for late check-out 😡, Grilled Night buffet is not worth the per person charge but other buffet nights were decently priced.
There is a small elevator available that feels really cramped and is busy often, so be ready to climb stairs frequently.

A special shoutout to Daisy, the manager, who was incredibly helpful, polite, and always had a warm smile. She made sure everything ran smoothly and was always happy to assist with anything we needed.
We were also looked after by Thae and Yanny, the bellmen, who were both so friendly and professional. They carried all our bags up to the 5th level without hesitation and with such great energy—it really set the tone for a relaxing stay.
And we can’t forget Maan, the pool bartender, who makes the best cocktails! His drinks were spot-on every time and added a perfect touch to our afternoons by the pool.
Not forgetting the breakfast buffet best food and good verity
Thank you to the whole Chanalai team for an amazing experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Stayed for seven nights at the end of March, my stay was wonderful. All the staff from check in, to restaurant staff, pool, staff, cleaning and gardening were friendly and very welcoming. The room was nice with an ocean view. Both pools were a welcome relief from the heat in the afternoon and always kept clean. There were a lot of stairs, I didn't mind but people with mobility issues might. Had the buffet breakfast every morning which was delicious with something new to try every morning. A short walk to the beach, with plenty of stores and restaurants a short walk away. I will be coming for another visit again and would happily recommend to friends, family, everyone.
