We stayed in The Fiddler on the Roof room. The room was very charming and romantic. The bathroom is large and very nice. The sink has two faucets, very large shower with a rain showerhead and body shower that is removable so you can spray off your body if needed or you can use that instead of the rain showerhead. The balcony is large. You can easily hear the ocean. There is a place to sit that is covered with a bamboo roof, and there are charming lights in the top of that. There are also two lounge chairs for sunbathing. The restaurant is very good with attentive wait staff. Room service is prompt. The concierge desk is very attentive and will help you with anything or make recommendations. The staff was out one day for a Christmas party while we were there, but they left recommendations of restaurants in the area for breakfast, lunch and dinner and there was a concierge there during that time. She was very helpful. Housekeeping was very attentive in the room was always clean. As I mentioned, the hotel restaurant is very good. We had breakfast and dinner there, but there are also several restaurants in the area that are good. Easy walk to downtown Wilemstead from the hotel.
10/10 recommend this very charming hotel. I can’t wait to stay there again with our next trip.

The people working there are so friendly and always happy...it shows that they want to be there and they are the main reason, IMO, why this place is successful. The apartment has a beautiful view from huge balcony, it is clean, well stocked and has great AC. Restaurant is fantastic. Thanks for welcoming us!

I'll apologize for taking so long to write this review but I need to do it. We absolutely loved our trip to Curacao and especially our stay at the BijBlauw Hotel. The staff was fantastic and the rooms have so much character. I told Ed that the date of our next trip back to Curacao would depend entirely on the availability of the Seaside Rendezvous room ! The fabulous food and drink always served with a smile while you enjoy the ocean views. The location is great , lots of attractions within walking distance and probably the friendliest island we've ever been to .
Thanks to Titia , Ruud , Ed and all the staff for making our stay so memorable , we're coming back either late November or January as soon as we figure out our fall work schedules .
Thanks again Randy and Leisa from Canada .

Came to Curaçao for our anniversary and decided to splurge by booking Bijblauw which is supposed to be a nice boutique hotel in the heart of petermaai. We had just came from the Marriot and had a wonderful time and were looking forward to a different but equally great experience at Bijblauw. Unfortunately when we arrived, our room was not ready. We went out and about town and came back around 10pm to hear that there was no running water in our room. We were definitely disappointed since it was a hot day out. We were given 2 bottles of water to compensate for not having water. We were expected to use this 2 bottles of water to wash our hands and our faces. Needless to say it was an uncomfortable night. The next day we asked if they were able to offer us something for the inconvenience and uncomfortable night, we were informed that they already had given us 2 bottles of water and there was nothing they can do for us. I understand that the water outage was not their fault but is that the way to treat a customer who is staying for 5 nights? They are certainly lacking in hospitality. I would recommend staying elsewhere in Petermaai as you may encounter the same experience.

First time in Curacao on a quick getaway with my husband. We stayed at BijBlauw and loved everything about it. Check-in was smooth (Maud was so friendly), room was beautiful, relaxing and comfortable and the property was gorgeous. There's construction going on next to BijBlauw but it didn't take away from our stay. All of the food was amazing, the staff were very nice and the ocean view from the restaurant was insane! Location wise it was perfect; we were close (either walking distance or a 5-15 minute car ride) to the strip (bars and restaurants, including Kome which was across the street and held up to its reputation) and some of the beaches. We explored the island over the course of 3 days and concluded that when we come back BijBlauw would be the only place we would consider staying again.

Me and my partner spend 2 nights at BijBlauw and we could not recommend this Boutique Hotel more!
It's located in a great area with lots of cute restaurants/bars & shops nearby. Within a 5 minute walk you will encounter many highlights of Curacao such as the Queen Emma Bridge and Punda (downtown).
At BijBlauw they also have an amazing Oceanfront restaurant where you can have breakfast, lunch, dinner & drinks. There is a nice breeze and if you walk down the new small boulevard there is a nice spot to swim in the ocean and watch some cute fishies :)
The breakfast we had was delicious. I tried the Avo on toast and the Stroofwafel pancakes and uff especially the pancakes were so good! So if you are a bit of a sweet tooth I can definitely recommend the Pancakes. My partner had the Smoked Salmon Bagel twice because he liked it so much. For coffee I had an Iced Latte & my partner who is a big coffee lover had a cappuchino and he thought it was great.
The Oceanview restaurant is a great spot to watch the sunset over the water. It was such a vibe!
The staff of the Hotel & Restaurant are very sweet and helpful. The room we stayed in was room 4 - it's very spacious and clean. It had a nice rainshower coming from the ceiling. I loved that we had a high ceiling and big tall windows, it was beautiful!
We would definitely come and stay here again when we get the chance to :) Thank you BijBlauw for your hospitality!

We loved our stay on this property. The rooms were super unique and comfortable. Check in was a breeze. The upstairs outdoor terrace was a nice place to gather and watch the sunset, and in our case the full moon rise. It's far enough away from the bridge that you don't get crowds but it's easily walkable. We also liked that there were plenty of places to grab a bite to eat and drink within walking distance that seemed a bit more local. The shower was really great too. If you are traveling with friends you may want to be sure of how the bathroom/shower area is sectioned off. Ours just had a curtain which wasn't a problem traveling as a couple. Great location and great service.

Overall this is a nice hotel with friendly and accommodating staff who went above and beyond to help us with our luggage and anything else we needed- the staff are the best part of this hotel! Very thoughtful welcome note with some Papiamento phrases that we really appreciated. The food at the restaurant is wonderful as well, we did the chefs choice meal and loved every bite. Cocktails are yummy, beer is cold, staff is attentive and friendly and charging to your room is a breeze. Walking distance to almost everything you’d want to do in Willemstad and all sorts of great restaurants and bars- we didn’t need a car while staying here, which was great.
We stayed in Room 4 which faces the street and has a full balcony over the entrance- we’re real balcony loving people so were looking forward to it and had chosen that room specifically for the balcony. However- there is major construction happening a few doors down and also across the street (this is my first time here but seems like Pietermaai has lots of construction projects going) every day except Sunday when we were greeted by beautiful bird song making it even sadder that the construction drowned that out every previous day. It started at about 7-8am and was so loud on the balcony it was unpleasant most of the day, but there was also only one chair to hang out in. I noticed when I came in from the balcony I tracked white dust all over the floor. there were also bottle caps from beer we didn’t have, and -not kidding- someone’s toe nail clippings out there that we didn’t see until the morning light. One afternoon we tried to escape to the bar to avoid the construction noise out front only to be met with jackhammering ten feet away on the waterfront (there also seems to be lots of shore work being done). No ability to mid day nap, which a hot weather vacation is ideal for (and we truly could have used a few days).
A few other things specific to room 4:
-the main hotel sign is illuminated by a bright light pointed right at the room 3 windows, all night
-the blinds are almost sheer and don’t block out any of the hotel sign light
-we never received duvets, only two thin sheets on the bed, flat pillows and an inefficient linen (?) half-sheet
-the door to the bathroom was glass…? Absolutely no privacy and the shower was nice but leaked allllll over the floor and made for messy cleanup and soaked bath mats
-several light bulbs were out
- the room is just very dark, the lights were inneffiicient and it being painted brown just doesn’t help
A few things about the property:
-the actual intersection this hotel is at is quite busy and confusing, we were woken up every night by loud cars and honking -although rooms at the back probably won’t have this problem
-often construction vehicles and tour busses created major blind spots and impassable walkways out front; not a fault of the hotel, but I wouldn’t recommend it to friends with mobility issues
-the plunge pool is nice but right next to the restaurant (I literally accidentally looked a lunch goer right in the eyes as I swam by lol) and closed at 6pm even though it is lit up at night very nicely
I might book here again in a different room next time, and not without inquiring about neighbouring construction.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at this hotel. The hotel was well located within walking distance to many restaurants and bars.
We booked the Deluxe Double Room with the City View - a spacious room on the 2nd floor with a large balcony overlooking the city. The room was beautifully decorated with chic designs. I wish the soundproofing would be better with blackout drapes, as the window shutters didn't work well.
We had lunch during our first day here, and the dishes were delicious (steak tartare and poke bowl). We saw many people having dinner there, but honestly, with so many great options nearby (Sal and Komi), we wanted to try elsewhere.
The view from the restraint was gorgeous. We went snorkeling on our last day at the hotel, and it was a paradise underwater.
Street parking was plenty right outside the hotel.

Hospitality at its finest.
We stayed for two weeks and were treated like family. The staff were very hospitable and caring paying close attention to our daily needs. Besides their great restaurant, there are many more nearby. Downtown Willemstad was within walking distance and had lots to see.
