My husband and I are repeat customers of Mahana Unit 717. The first time we stayed 6 weeks and the second time we stayed for 4 weeks; never enough time though. This particular unit is impressive with its cleanliness, its decorations that are very Hawaiian right down to the decorative pillows, mugs, dishes, wall decor and the 2 white leather-like chairs with their own ottomans right in front of the living room floor to ceiling windows. If you go in the winter months you can watch whales and their babies jumping and slapping and just having fun. We have also watched an endangered seal park itself on the beach for a couple of days, turtles, manta rays, and spinning dolphins. You just want to sit in those two chairs and watch forever. This unit is supplied with everything that you have in your home. They have beach chairs and other sport items. And they have this desk that you can work on with your computer and when you get tired of sitting this desk raises up so you can then stand; who even thinks of an item like that. You are so central that you have all of the restaurants in a close area, food trucks, supermarkets, urgent care, etc. And lastly the owners of this unit can be reached at any time and are 2 of the most responsive "friends" we have ever dealt with. Do not hesitate to book this unit. We give it well over 10 stars. Mike and Donna Davis from Massachusetts.

Booked through Costco but my wife already had stayed here before some 18 years ago. First the good. All the rooms are ocean facing, some 40 feet from the water and so they have some of the best views of any hotel here in Ka’anapali. You look down and can see turtles near shore, occasional bigger fish and whales in the not too distant ocean. Bring binoculars. You’re so close that you hear the waves breaking all day and night. Some might not like trying to go to sleep with the sound of waves but we love it. The room itself is fairly spacious, has a balcony, a small kitchenette, a smallish bathroom, compact washer and dryer(stacked) and 2 nice closets. It’s nothing fancy but is clean and works. Great location as you’re a 7 minute drive to Whalers village, 10 minutes to Nāpili-Honokōwai bay, 12 to Kapalua bay Plenty of free self parking. They have a concierge in the lobby who will book you on any type of tour. The bad is there are no blackout curtains so you get up with the sun. Also there is a warning not to leave food etc out as apparently it attracts bugs, although we’ve had no such problem. There’s no restaurant or bar, so no breakfast included. But you can walk few hundred feet on the beach to Dukes or short walk across the street to Java jazz or the food trucks adjacent to the hotel. In summary, you can’t beat the closeness to the sand or the views as a consequence. That to me trumps it all!

The best view in Kaanapali
Everything about unit #717 was wonderful. The kithchen was well stocked. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. The view was amazing. Turtles everyday. I would definitely stay here again. I would also recommend unit #717 to anyone that is traveling to Maui.
beautiful oceanfront apartment, great service, room can use $1000 makeover
Beautiful oceanfront view. Great location. Apartment could use $1000 to replace a 20year old mattress and comforter set and can do some touch ups for premium feeling.
Karen was amazing at the reception. She helped me like I am of her own family.

Every unit in the Mahana is right on the ocean, so the view absolutely cannot be beat. The building has plenty of parking, a pool/hot tub, and is easy walking distance to a number of restaurants (and food trucks). Easy access to the beach which had surprisingly good snorkeling.

You can’t beat the view but probably can beat the quality.
Second time staying here, booked through Costco. Love Costco travel. Stayed in south building, room 1018, premium 1 bedroom. Fantastic view, right on the beach, fantastic sunsets. Terrible bed, one side was like sleeping in a hole and we were here 8 nights. Nice to hear the waves at night....
Second time staying here, booked through Costco. Love Costco travel. Stayed in south building, room 1018, premium 1 bedroom. Fantastic view, right on the beach, fantastic sunsets. Terrible bed, one side was like sleeping in a hole and we were here 8 nights. Nice to hear the waves at night. Furnishings were subpar, cushions worn out although the couch seemed newer. Kitchen supplies were fair, we ended up buying a spatula because the supplied one was worn out, cooking pans had Teflon coming off. WiFi and cable was spotty, TV kept resetting while watching and could usually only connect one device to the WiFi at a time, maintenance attempted to repair it but no improvement. If you want a restaurant onsite, you’ll have to use an adjacent property a short walk away but Duke’s is a short walk away.

An absolute dream vacation in Maui and Unit 1117 was a perfect spot for our homebase! We were celebrating our anniversary and the condo had tons of space between the master bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and lanai balcony. If travelling as a family, the couch in the living room can be utilized as a pullout bed for 2 more people.
Pros:
-easy 50 minute drive from the OGG airport
-free parking
-LOCATION CANNOT BE TOPPED: you are on the quiet northern edge of Kaanapali Beach with a perfect view of the sunset each night from your private lanai. Epic views of the Pacific Ocean with rainbows & Molokai/Lanai islands in the background. Enjoy all the perks of being at a prime resort location without all the crowds and resort traffic.
-Snorkeling from the beach just steps outside the condo pool was a breeze. We swam up close with multiple 5 ft turtles and all sorts of fish and coral reef.
-Well maintained boardwalk along the resorts was a great way to start each day with a run/walk to Whaler's village (2 miles each way)
-GOLF: Kapalua Resort & Kaanapali Resort are both within a 10 minute drive (4 courses total - all very nice)
-fully stocked kitchen to make meals at the condo (and grills at the pool) -laundry room with washer/dryer
-Duke's + other resort restaurants within walking distance
-our host, Rebecca, was very communicative and had plenty of suggestions for around the island to help make our stay the best!
Cons: NONE! We would highly recommend Unit 1117 at Aston Mahana to anyone looking for a Maui vacation.

We are VERY happy with our decision to stay here. So much better than a hotel. The expansive ocean view from the main room and lanai (where we ate many meals) is really stunning and surprisingly private. Easy access to beach and snorkeling. Quiet with updated furniture and decor with quality bedding and updated TV with all streaming apps. Very well appointed—plenty of gadgets and staples in the kitchen, and easy shopping nearby (though it’s Maui, so groceries are pricy). Unit owners are attentive and welcoming hosts and offered insights into local attractions. We would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Maui.
