We had a most wonderful time!!! We felt so happy & the incredible staff always made us feel so well looked after! The grounds were beautiful & we enjoyed every minute! Sunsets on the beach were totally amazing!!! We had more selection & choice of meals that could be more than suitable for everyone ( including gluten free & vegetarian & vegan )!!! An amazing place. Comfortable and warmly welcoming from the very start. The food was excellent and there was always something to eat for the pickiest of eaters to the gourmet. The staff were incredible. Good natured , helpful and fun to be around. Made us feel at home in beautiful Barbados. The drinks flowed as smoothly as the sunsets were spectacular. Great location for everything from world class shopping and activities to beautiful beaches everywhere. We are definitely planning to return as soon as we can. One of our best vacations ever. The Hotel is tired and needs updating. Our room was in the fourth floor up rickety steps, not ideal for us 70plus year olds! To be fair, we were offered another room but as they wouldn’t tell us where we declined. Our room was large but dated. Where the sliding wardrobe doors had gone I had no idea. Cleaners were excellent. The food was ok’ish but always cold. The egg ladies were brilliant but some of the restaurant staff were sullen and didn’t want to be there. Entertainment was good most evenings and so were the Bar staff . Overall, lovely spot but would not return. It was not as good as I expected which was disappointing.

This is a reasonable 3 star resort, when based on 5 star options. The food is pretty good, but the staff are mostly indifferent as is the case with many "all inclusive" hotels around the world. If you can handle that, and being told where and when to book your dinner restaurant, and keep in mind if you are late down for breakfast ( 9:30) the dining options will be very limited as they are already booked. Sun beds are the inevitable issue, if you let it get to you. People were out the first morning we arrived at 5am bagging their seats by the pool. It was not an issue to us as we are happy being one or two back from the "front line". Worst experience were the reception people. I will call one of the girls "eyelashes", and if she is still there when you visit, you will know who I mean. We flew in from another island and arrived at mid-day. This was always the plan, and Caribtours who booked it all for us knew this, as did the hotel, but obviously the room wasnt ready. "Come back at 3pm" was the instruction from reception with no eye contact or care. 3pm came and we approached reception, still not ready, so we walked down the road and had a beer at Surf Side. 4:30 room was ready. It was a two room affair, sitting area and bedroom area. Clean but tired. Cheap shower fittments, kettle and coffee machines in places where there are no power sockets, french doors to balcony latch was broken. Room cleaning people were very efficient. We really did not like the prison feel of the place and the dinner ladies (wardens). We checked into a different hotel for the last 3 days of our trip. We asked if there would be any money back if we checked out early, and were advised there would be zero back. We decided there was no point in keeping the room as we were not likely to use the lunch restaurant or bar services. We feel it was unreasonable not to have been given a credit for the meals and drinks that we were not there to consume, but appreciate they were not going to relet a room for 3 nights short notice. However there was no offer of a ny credit. As we started off. It is an OK 3 star, but not for us.

A small walk to access the beach but very nice surroundings and good location. I found rooms traditional Carribesn style but could do with updating. The overall service is good at this hotel and I would return. Overlooking the gardens was nice but if you have mobility issues request a ground floor room as there are no lifts in this hotel

Just returned from a glorious holiday at The Club Barbados. Travelled with Virgin Atlantic ... The Club Barbados has a fabulous.. upbeat vibe.. set it n a glorious area in Holetown.. next to Sandy Lane, where you can enjoy lush swims on the idyllic and stunning Sandy Lane beach. . All teams, that cover the Club Barbados resort, are beyond welcoming and treat you like family. Delicious food and fun evening entertainment. Gorgeous pool areas. Reception team very friendly and extremely helpful .. Making booking of Tours extremely easy .. Catamaran Sunset Cruise a must do .. absolutely amazing.. The Beach bar is a fun place to enjoy a cocktail or 2.. with cool as Guy .. entertaining everyone with his awesome music vibes .. Vinny and Kareene are sheer joy too .. beautiful souls … and as Vinny would say.. “we love you baby”… Dining Team are wonderful.. Nikita with her ray of sunshine smile .. everyday.. great laugh.. loved all our chats.. Chinequa you are a little sweetheart with the biggest heart .. They have a fabulous Artist who is at the resort a couple of times a week.. Jefferson .. who commissioned a stunning painting for me.. highly recommend.. I can’t wait to frame my beautiful painting. Never alone in Barbados and certainly never in Club Barbados… Until the next time….. .. thank you for a perfect .. relaxing.. good vibes .. holiday

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at The Club and overall we had a fab time at this hotel. Upon arrival, our booked room was not available for the first night so they put us in a suite for one night, as compensation they gave us 2 vouchers for complimentary spa treatments, however we didn't get round to using these. The next day we were moved into a ground floor garden view room, which we actually preferred. Overall the food is decent, sometimes service could be slow. Enid's was our preference for evening meals, the ladies in there were lovely and the food more traditional caribbean. For lunch we preferred to sit at the beach bar and order from the snack menu. Breakfast could be chaotic, and wait times for water and coffee could be a problem. Most of the staff were lovely, with the odd exception. Drinks were good with premium brands etc. Mojito's were not always available. They will also make cocktails not on the menu. The hotel is in a really good location for exploring and I would recommend if looking for an all inclusive. However, when we return to Barbados we have decided that we would go B&B or self catering as there are so many amazing places to go out for meals and drinks and the island is safe to explore unlike some other caribbean islands.

My first visit to Barbados. Our arrival was problematic with regards to our room. Difficult time dealing with reception staff who tried to bully us into signing a waiver over the change of room. We didn’t sign, spoke with our TUI rep and the matter is now in the hands of their complaints department. Warning, do not sign any waiver. Once in our room, it was fine, a little tired but most of the resort is like that. Despite having seen photos of a small beach, there isn’t one now. The sun beds are quite good and no real problem getting one each day. The restaurant meals served by waiters/waitresses are fine but nothing special. The self service which is every lunch and a few evenings a week is not good. Poor presentation and uninspiring selection. Meat and fish tend to be over cooked for my liking. Evening entertainment is actually quite good and people are up and dancing every night. There is also the Piano Bar which opens at 11pm and is good fun with again, lots of dancing. The older staff are very friendly and helpful but it’s a pity this attitude hasn’t been passed to some of the younger ones - no smiles, snide looks, ignoring guests. There is a tourist tax of approximately 25US dollars per night per room which is bloody expensive but as we were with TUI, they paid for part of it and ours came to £108 for fourteen nights. I believe if you travelled with Virgin, BA,, or booked direct you will be charged the full amount. Over the two weeks we were there, we enjoyed our stay but it was a lot of money for not very much. I won’t be returning.

Good food selection at all meals Good bar staff ad range of drinks Lovely grounds, pools and vista on to lovely sea. Easy walk to beautiful uncrowded beach. Easy accessibility to walk into Holestown Local buses outside. Not so good: Some rooms have outdated decor and fixings, particularly the bathroom. Saying that the important things like shower were excellent. Some of the guests could be very noisy but hey I guess that is the world over. The use of kayaks and hobicats is good but if experienced 30 minutes is not enough. Also why not launch from sandy beach than over the rocks. Limits their use. Other notes: Most of the evening entertainment was pretty good with a few exceptions. Buffet nights were a weak spot in food selection but rest of the a la carte table menu days make up for it. We saw hygiene and temperature checks been done regularly on the food which was very reassuring. Been all inclusive makes this an amazing resort.

We stayed at the Club in September 24 and enjoyed every minute and now in process of booking for this year. The hotel is managed by Caroline and team with an ethos for customer service,the hotel,rooms and pool area are very clean and the beach is a very short walk.The restaurants have a varied tasty choice daily,including buffet nights. Any problems that are highlighted are promptly dealt with. Holidays are what you make them and there has to be a level of acceptance when in different surroundings. Some of the previous reviews I consider to be unfair,it’s a great stay. Alistair

First time stay. Lovely place,generally lovely people. We will go back. However, it is frequented by a population of (British as are we) travellers of a certain age and seemingly a certain sense of entitlement. (See some other reviews.) Sadly beach time was taken up with having to listen to their whinging about; surly staff, slow service, general pettiness about scrambled eggs being too sloppy. They don't feel like they should have to lift a finger or walk a step. Oh and apparently it's too hot. Just stay at home then!

I was impressed with everything really being all inclusive- no extras for branded drinks, a free rum tasting, daily guided walks around Holetown, Aquarobics (harder than it looks), watersports... The crowd is older, but some 30 somethings turned up so I wasn't the youngest here as I first feared. Our room was clean and tidy but the mattress didn't suit my husband. I slept well! Food was good all trip, though I do recommend getting out and about to experience the food too. Enids serves more carribean food, Sunset is more varied/ European. A few reviews mention a lack of beach...and it is true. A near miss with a hurricane swept it away! But Sandy Lane and Folkestone beaches are a short walk if you need to lie on the sand. You can swim straight from the hotel beachfront and you MUST borrow a snorkel. There is a stone breaker just off shore teeming with fish and for a weak swimmer you can stand up at low or medium tide. Staff are friendly and helpful unless you are an entitled a-hole! Sadly there were a few here. If you want 5* bells and whistles, this isn't it. It you want a relaxing holiday, it definitely is.

Stayed for a week - following a cruise. It grew on us as the week went on. Friendly & efficient check in. First impressions- gardens nice, pools attractive, a lovely comfortable Caribbean vibe. Lots of sunbeds around the pools, gardens & beach terrace. Pleased with our room- ground floor garden view with terrace. Had everything we needed. Large walk in shower. Lots of hot water & toiletries. No plug in the sink- (take a travel one) Very comfy large bed, good pillows, sheets changed every other day. Plenty of towels - some well worn, but clean. Big good quality pool towels. Didn’t use the coffee/tea tray in the room as excellent coffee/tea from the bar from 7am onwards. Took a multi plug which made up for the lack of sockets. Food was varied & mainly good quality tasty Caribbean style in both restaurants. The staff were helpful & friendly- chat with them and they’ll chat back! The older staff have more confidence /warmth/ fun - through experience , but we thought the younger staff were keen to do their jobs well too. Nikita - on the grill in the Sunset restaurant needs a special mention. She greeted me with a big smile each day and remembered my name! We enjoyed a friendly chat each day as she cooked me delicious banana pancakes, or lunchtime burgers/hot dogs. She even shared her recipes! Bar staff worked hard too and were helpful. We liked the cocktail menus (mainly rum based) Non - alcohol versions were good too. Entertainment- you need to read the whiteboard in the main lounge each day. Quite a lot going on eg. Morning walks, Aqua aerobics, cookery classes, rum tasting, painting classes, watersports- to name a few. Also, there is a book swop. Each eve / some daytime- Caribbean style music dancing/limbo/steel band/ pop/rock/ varied & was enjoyed by most. Caroline the manager was lovely & dedicated to getting everything right- she is usually checking out everything early am & is keen to make sure all is well & up to standard. This hotel has heart & character. It’s not 5* glitz but feels Caribbean & we liked it. Would we return - yes when needed

First time to Barbados and will definitely be back. We stayed here because of the reviews and because our Chase points covered the stay. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and willing to do whatever they could to make your stay enjoyable. The reason for the 3 is because meh, the cost/points used wasn’t worth the property itself. The rooms were clean and comfortable but not anything special/fancy. The ACs in the room and living area worked wonderful but the blankets on the beds were paper thin so it was hard to get comfortable and we like it really cold. The gym could use a serious update. The equipment is quite old and rattles. I would almost question if we should have been on some of the machines. The food was eh. Breakfast was the best but we ate out most days to experience great, local food so would recommend that. There isn’t a way to have coffee scheduled for delivery in the mornings so you have to walk down to the pool bar area which I was bummed about. Also if you want dinner but don’t want to go sit at the restaurant, there isn’t any option for late night bar menu or room service. That was also a bummer since some days we were exhausted from being out and about and wanted to enjoy an easy dinner on our balcony. During the day, there’s no pool service so if you’re looking for staff to be walking around the pool taking drinks, this is not the place. They must be short on towels or people must steal them because you have to have towel cards to get them or to get fresh ones. They will charge you if you lose the cards. We are in our mid 30s and probably saw 3-4 other couples within our age range. Everyone else was 60+ easily. All in all, it wasn’t a bad stay. I just don’t think the cost is worth any of the above mentioned.

A previous reviewer described this resort like a cruise ship without that special feeling and I would agree. It has many pro’s and con’s of which I have listed below: Pro’s *location - great for the sea and sunset views, great for walks and feeling safe. The staff - the large majority of the colleagues who work here are super friendly and whilst service can be slow (in keeping with the whole island vibe) we always felt well taken care of. Shout out particularly to captain roy doing the sailing, and all the colleagues in Sunset and Enid restaurants as well as the two ladies (sorry cannot remember your names) who do the morning walks. The activities - loved doing a morning walk at 08:15 each day and seeing what Holetown and St James has to offer. The aqua water was also good fun and the free sailing 30 minute trip and snorkelling is fantastic. The room size - fantastic as was the balcony, we were in room 433 so high above everything, not accessible for those with walking difficulties but we loved looking out at the tree line and the pools. The bed - super comfortable firm mattress with comfortable pillows. The swimming pools - good depth and length was able to enjoy some swimming. The bars - the drinks are free flowing just make sure you state the brand you want when ordering spirits even in the cocktails. They will make Martini’s with Grey Goose if you ask for it. The outdoor bar has really great views from it, the indoor bar has the more comfortable seating. *the food - overall it was pretty good, in the evening I preferred Enid’s and the a-la carte choices in sunset. My advice is go for the fish dishes and pasta dishes they were the stand outs (as were the hotdogs at lunch time). Con’s Fixtures and fittings - as others have pointed out the hotel is looking tired, a number of the mugs, and plastic cups have chips in them, cleaners trollies are visible around the room stair cases, a skip is visible near the piano bar. There could just be a bit of modernisation to improve this. *location - whilst good for all the reasons above, taxis are expensive on the island as are the trips so unless you are willing to pay you do feel compelled to stay in the complex and it just lacks the size to in the end not feel a little bit bored if you are a natural explorer. Food and drink - overall as I state above it was very good, they do try to mix the choices up, I was frustrated though that they ran out of ingredients (could not order pizza for lunch on multiple days, we love a mudslide but often ran out of the liquor), the fruit at breakfast was tasteless (with the exception of the pineapple that was only available every other day) and the hot pepper sauce just ran through my wife and I which was disappointing as we love our hot sauces. In the end though the 4]very good and not excellent rating is based on value for money and whilst I certainly understand the attraction of the island of Barbados, it is by far the safest I have felt in the Caribbean and the architecture is wow and weather virtually guaranteed (we had some welcome rain every 3rd day), it is just expensive when compared to similar holidays such as cruises, or Mediterranean islands. For this reason we are unlikely to return.

This is more to do with the travel agent booked with TUI. Their description is somewhat inaccurate, firstly definitely not 4 star at best mid 3 star. The description describes as follows, not direct access to beach, which implies a beach but access by other means, there is no beach full stop, other links to a beach, describes as beach bar, seafront spot short walk from sandy lanes famous beach. The food in general was average, limited choice and quite boring, set out like a works canteen, hence we hired a car and dined out mostly. The hotel is dated and in urgent need of some TLC and refurbishment, the shower did not drain after constantly reporting it to maintenance. My partner is not a confident swimmer but loves the water, hence when the details stated a whirlpool this was a bonus, however the whirlpool was out of action for the whole stay. We booked a balcony room as we enjoy evening drinks relaxing on a balcony, to accommodate other guests, we were offered an Ocean View, which we agreed to, on accessing the room, it had a lovely Ocean view but no balcony, so a view or balcony we were unable to enjoy. There were two plug sockets within the room, none near a mirror, I had to remove the mirror from the bathroom wall and set up on a table near a plug extension and a table lamp as there are no main lights within the rooms. The drinks selection was limited with very cheap spirit alternatives, cocktails were more like slush puppies with colouring than a proper cocktail. Staff were the best part of the hotel, although a few could do with being put on the extensive training course as suggested in other posts by the hotel management. At £500 a night we would have expected a higher standard all round. We holiday approx 5/6 times a year, this being the 6th time with TUI in 5 years, this is the first time that we have felt let down by TUI, with that in mind, we will be taking our business elsewhere. In TUI's defence, they did offer £150 compensation. The TUI site explains that there is no rep at this location but there is 24/7 app for booking and contacting, which I was unable to access and book any excursions, only to find out the day before leaving that there is a local rep that visits the hotel, please update your web site with this info TUI.

We have stayed at the Club three times before, so were very much looking forward to returning. The location is excellent for walking into Holetown, shops, taxis to restaurants and the local bus service. There is little or no beach at the resort but access to the Sandy Lane beach next door is literally a couple of steps away, albeit there are no sun beds there. We did however have a few issues with the resort this time. Our accommodation was a bit of a disappointment, room 252, as it is an annex to the much larger room next door, via interconnecting doors. The bathroom was our main annoyance as it is incredibly small, the toilet seat virtually touches the door as it’s opened and the shower, whilst being a walk in, has a shower curtain rather than a screen. The wash basin area is also cramped. The room itself is fine, the balcony overlooks the gardens. We did have to find the housekeeping staff on numerous occasions for toiletries and toilet rolls, the bed often wasnt made ( yes I can do it myself….) and the sheets were only changed after 7 nights, which I found unusual to say the least. Comfortable bed though! The food offerings are generally fine, often not a tremendous choice but there’s always something for everyone, even if it’s only a chip sandwich, which my husband had a few lunchtimes. The replenishment can often be slow, which causes an issue if you are choosing hot food, waiting for the potatoes for example, when the rest of your food is getting cold can be annoying. Our main bugbear was the attitude of the younger staff, especially the girls. The majority, sadly, made it perfectly obvious that they truly didn’t want to be there, miserable faces, one word answers and just no smiles. The older staff were so much more attuned to the customers and were a delight to chat to and have a laugh with. On a positive note, many of the drinks were branded, ie Smirnoff, absolute, Bombay sapphire, Banks and even Galliano! I did make an appointment with the general manager, a delightful lady called Caroline, who completely understood my issues and welcomed the constructive and honest feedback. She is aware of the staffing problems but it appears that sadly, it’s a sign of the times and youngsters don’t want to work in hospitality and leave the house to go to work…. An interesting concept for the future! Another downside of Covid perhaps.

Our 3rd visit to the hotel, we return for the relaxed atmosphere, good food, helpful staff and good location. The access to Sandy Lane beach is easy even at high tide - the beach and sea swimming are wonderful. The one downside is the sun lounger ‘race’ each morning. This time a group of 10 would be up and reserving their beds about 6.30am and some of those beds not used at all all day! Also noticed some guests reserving both pool and sea front loungers - stopping others using them, not sure what the hotel need to do tbh

Lesley Anne in the restaurant was warm and friendly as were Karinne and Vinny in the bar - bit hit and miss with other staff The food was ‘ok’ buffet lunch with an all day snack menu. Dinner again not amazing but we were never hungry. I feel this hotel is reflective of many in Barbados, busy and fully occupied hence tired and in need of a refresh. Sadly for the money we spent there are other options in the world. We wont be going back to Barbados.
