Fantastic hotel. Room amazing, and location perfect. Right next to Charing Cross subway so you get around so easily. Breakfast was really great, tea lovely and warm as served in pots. Best croissants outside Paris! So delicious. Bar was great. All staff so helpful. Really great stay, thank you.

We stayed here for 1 night to go to the theatre on a b&b basis. Check in was smooth as was check out.
The room was really spacious, well appointed and the bed was really comfy. As others have said, everything in the minibar is free,it is replenished daily. The bathroom was big and the shower was massive, easily enough room for 2. It was also nice to have a sink that worked.
Breakfast was excellent, a good selection of hot and cold foods and the fried breakfast was really good.
Nice to have pots of tea and coffee at breakfast. Bar was nice but as others have said, it is small for the size of the hotel.
My only request is that not everyone likes coffee pods in the rooms. Would it not be possible to have the option of coffee sachets, even if it was nescafe?
We liked the hotel so much, we booked a weekend stay in May before we left.

This hotel was almost perfect for our 3 day pre-cruise visit. Lots of restaurants/shops nearby, the tube station right next door as well as a taxi stand. Even had a Starbucks in the lobby area! The rooms were small but very comfortable and front desk employees were amazing. Get a high room away from the tube station as the tube is a bit loud. Our cruise began in Tillbury and taxi’s refused to drive that far so we ended up taking an Uber, which was fine.
We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here when we return.

We stayed two nights at The Clermont London, Charing Cross at the end of March 2025. Overall, it was a great experience!
Location:
Great location! We were able to walk to the metro, supermarkets, restaurants, Chinatown, Covent Garden, museums, and more. The area felt safe to walk around, even at night. Getting to Heathrow Airport was easy with just one connection on the metro.
Price:
Very reasonable, especially considering the convenience and central location.
Room:
Clean and comfortable with an updated bathroom. The espresso machine was a great touch!
In-house restaurant:
Beautiful setting with good meals at fair prices. We especially loved the breakfast—great atmosphere and delicious food.

Everything was EXCELLENT!
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our room was ready before time and was spacious and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable and there were extra pillows if needed.
It was also very quiet during the night.
We had lunch in the restaurant on the day we arrived & it was superb. We couldn’t fault anything & the service was spot on.
The theatre we had chosen to go to was only a 6mins walk away. There were other theatres that were also just a short walk away. The Portrait Gallery is almost next door and it is very easy to get to Convent Garden. The underground is just a few minutes away. All very convenient.
Breakfast was self service, with an abundance of delicious food to choose from. Everything extremely well cooked and presented. They serve proper scrambled eggs - not stuff you can slice, which is overcooked & rubbery. Once again the staff were friendly, attentive & helpful.
All in all a wonderful stay. We will definitely choose to stay there again.

Heathrow express from T5 to Paddington and change onto the Bakerloo line and about 6 stops to Charing Cross. Then a few minutes walk to the hotel. M&S food store next door. Great street down side of hotel with lots of food and drink options. Princess of Wales pub/restaurant and Hobson Fish and chips both excellent.
Warm welcome from reception staff. Rooms of adequate size with comfortable bed and nice walk in shower. The central location beside Leicester Square and a short walk to China Town, Soho, Piccadilly Circus is great. Would stay there again and recommend.

Stayed for one night as part of birthday celebration for my wife. Dinner reservation made at time of booking. Despite it not being busy absolutely awful service in dining room which resulted in us leaving to dine elsewhere. Staff thoroughly disinterested and didn’t care at all when we left. Issue addressed appropriately by reception but did put a downer on my wife’s special day. Again at breakfast a total lack of interaction and warmth from staff in dining room. It is a shame that this one area lets down what is a wonderful hotel that does so many things right.

Had a very nice welcome upon check in and got into our superior room early, which was good. The room was big and airy, with a huge bed and sofa. A little disappointed we were overlooking Villiers street instead of out to the front, but no big deal really. Slept very well in the comfy bed although I thought the duvet was a little too small for the width of the bed. We had an issue when the water in the sink wouldn't run away but once reported, it was sorted in minutes. Every member of staff we encountered were lovely, friendly and helpful. On the whole a lovely hotel with a nice atmosphere. I'd recommend.

We stayed for 1 night as a couple.
The Good.
1. The location was excellent, beside Trafalgar Square, and close to all the main attractions. Despite this, the rooms were quiet, even above a train station.
2. The public spaces were beautifully decorated, especially the bar and restaurant. The little coffee bar was a great place to sit.
3. The rooms were spacious and had good a/c. As well as coffee, they also provided a few free snacks, including crisps and sweets. The bed was very comfortable.
4. The bathroom was very nice with a great shower and good toiletries.
5. Given the location and standards, it was very good value for money. The bar was a little more expensive.
6. Service was very friendly, and both check in and check out were quick and efficient
The Bad
1. We stayed in the extension part, and it was a bit confusing accessing it initially.
Overall.
It was a great stay, and I would definitely return.

I would highly recommend a stay at the Clermont, Charing Cross. The service, location, food and room at the hotel were exceptional. We had dinner at the hotel prior to attending a show in London. Compliments to the chef as it was delicious! The self service breakfast in the morning was beautifully set out with as many options as as you can imagine. It was just as delicious as the meal we had in the evening. We'll definitely be back!

We had a wonderful stay here. Its location next to Trafalgar square and Covent Garden made visits to the National Gallery, concerts at St. Martin in the Fields and West End shows super easy, and its site over Charing Cross station and a short walk to Embankment station also meant quick access to north/south and east/west tube lines. From a grand curved staircase lined with candles that someone places every night to the high ceilinged restaurant, the hotel's interior spaces feel elegant. The hotel is divided into 2 buildings, requiring us to go up one floor before crossing over a bridge to the other wing to access the elevator to our building, which some might find inconvenient. Our room was an upgraded king and was quite spacious and quiet. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a full-sized shower. The free mini-bar and two free tokens to the bar were a very nice touch. For the location and quality of the accomodations and amenities, the price was very reasonable.

After navigating our way through the streets occupied by soccer fans who were "preparing" for the evening's match, we made our way to the Clermont, Charing Cross. It has a great location, walking distance from many of London's historical sites and next to a train station that would take you to all of the other sites. The hotel is very stately and well appointed. We arrived early, before our room was ready; however, the receptionist offered us another room. Being a bit tired from the morning travel, we accepted. Next time, I am going to inquired if the room being offered is next to the janitorial closet/room. This one was, and we had to endure some morning and early afternoon (prime nap time) noise.
The room was large and well appointed. It was also very clean with windows looking out onto the street. The bathroom was also roomy. And the bathroom's heated tile floor was a welcomed amenity. We were trying to figure out the lights and light switch arrangement. Some switches worked while others would either turn off all of the lights or on without any rhyme or reason. Inhaling my pride, I called downstairs for some assistance. About an 1/2 hour later hotel staff shows up and starts flipping switches - he couldn't get it to work in a rational manner either. He then turns to us and says, "well, you will just have to play with it a bit" and then leaves. Excuse me?
In spite of this, we managed and enjoyed the hotel. It has a really nice bar and a wonderful restaurant with great choices (I recommend the smoked duck salad). Great serving staff also. Breakfast was ok, with a variety of choices.
Reception staff was great with really good recommendations for restaurants and off the beaten path sites. This is a solid hotel; they just need to work on their lights a bit;).

This was our second time staying here and would return again. We love the location. Easy walking distance to all the major sites in London and close to the West End to take in a show. Lots of restaurants and pubs in the area as well. Also, very easy to access public transportation right outside the lobby of the hotel. We did a couple of day excursions outside of London and found it easy to take the Tube to the appropriate train station heading to Brighton one day and to Bath another day. Our room was nice - located in the old part of the hotel was nice and very clean. The hotel kept our room supplied with snacks daily and a free welcome cocktail at the hotel bar. Overall a great spot in London.
