We hadn’t read all these reviews before booking this fantastic resort hotel, we took a recommendation from a trusted source, and hopes for the best…
So delighted we did! There is nothing that is not exactly as they say it will be and more. I am pleased I booked a junior suite with sea view, for the ambience and space, but everything looks well done here, from the relaxed yet organised location and setting to the private beach and pools. We woul use the main pool in the morning then the freshwater swimmers pool on the opposite bay side in the afternoon. Both spacious and relaxing even though the GM told us it was 100pc full occupancy.
In order of merit , with little to choose between them, we would say:
1 The amazing staff
2 The facilities
3 The rooms
4 The overall service and professionalism
5 The Breakfast! Possibly the best we have been to globally ever!
6 The food generally is high quality and fresh with a large buffet as you see
7 The on site water sports
Well done to all involved
We do have two small observations worth passing on..
The hotel was full, most it seemed, to have chosen the HB option with evening buffet, getting seated was not a five star experience
Also the buffet was reduced amazingly quickly by such large numbers, and honestly, it was a little repetitive. We went out twice for a change consequently.
Secondly, we were sold a beach bar, there was none available, it was closed the entire week, also evening entertainment bands did not materialise as advertised twice. Getting poolside service or beach side service was not easy, but not the staff’s fault, the bar was closed so they were having to walk multiple flights of steps to do each service.
As I said, 100 full and two weeks or so away from season end, they have our sympathy.
Overall a wonderful resort hotel and experience, we will be back hopefully soon

Just returned from a fabulous stay in this beautiful hotel. It’s run like a well oiled machine that exudes efficiency and professionalism. Customer service is excellent and the restaurant staff deserve a particular mention for their warmth and desire to please.
The hotel seemed busy but it was always possible to find places to sunbathe and relax in a quiet corner. Every attention has been given to detail and it’s totally luxurious.
Now for the food… what can I say? Absolutely first rate with a huge variety . It was impossible to exercise restraint at the buffet in the Labryinth restaurant.
It will definitely be on our list of somewhere to return to.

Just returned from an 8 night stay. From the moment we arrived it felt like we had made the right choice. As you pull up the drive you get an immediate feeling of beauty and calm.
The grounds are stunning and immaculate, beautiful pools, seating areas and last but not least the tiered bay sun decks built into the rocks along with a small beach in the cove are just wow !
The food at breakfast and dinner was really lovely and plentiful, with a beautiful lunch restaurant too.
All of the above would not work without a fantastic team led by Alex the general manager who is very visible making sure guests are happy and being attended to by his team.
Without doubt we would love to return, as this hotel just leaves you feeling relaxed, refreshed and recharged.
Thank you St. Nicolas Bay

Truly fantastic from start to finish. This is a fantastic 5 star hotel where each and every guest are truly cared about (but not in an overbearing kind of way). The hospitality we received was impeccable, with so many complimentary gifts, we felt spoiled. The restaurants are fantastic and the wine list varied. Breakfast is idyllic served in the shade of the trees overlooking the ocean. We were upgraded to a 3 person villa which exceeded our expectations and would be a wonderful base for a family/small group. The location is great, being only a short taxi ride into Agios Nikolas and Elounda. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for demonstrating the true meaning of filoxenia.

This is a beautiful hotel with great staff, we had a studio room with private pool on half board basis. We ate at the Greek restaurant and the Asian, both very good, the buffet restaurant was lovely with a great choice, there is a nice little beach bar & restaurant too. The only thing that let it down for me was the pools were salt water, which I found very difficult to swim in and this was one of my main reasons for getting away, I wanted to build my fitness after a year of cancer treatment, I never expected a salt water pool to be so difficult, it’s like being in the Dead Sea where your legs keeping floating up! The main pool is lovely to look at but hardly anyone in it because it’s also very cold, speaking to others they felt the same, too cold and difficult to swim in. The beach is small & gritty, not particularly attractive and not suitable for children, I would say this is a couples resort, there were 2 couples I noticed with new babies but no other children, it’s not really geared up for children, I would also say not suitable for those with mobility issues, it’s hilly with a lot of steps to restaurants. We were let down by transport we arranged through British Airways and ended up getting a taxi from airport which was 85 euros. Taxi in to town is 7 euros, a lively town with plenty of shops and restaurants. Room was lovely but only coffee machine, I asked for kettle and fresh milk for tea which was no problem as room service is excellent. If I wasn’t fussed about the pool I would definitely go back, this hotel has a lovely feel about it

My husband and I have just returned from St Nicolas, we had a 10 night stay in a classic studio with a private pool. On the night of our arrival, we were literally stunned at how beautiful and clean the room was, the pool was perfect and from then we knew we were going to have a fabulous stay! We also used one of the main pools too which was a lovely saltwater infinity pool. There were plenty of sun beds available each day. The private beach was beautiful, the water was warm and crystal clear. My husband snorkelled each day as there were so many beautiful fish to see.
We were half board which provided us with breakfast and evening meal. We did have discounted access to the themed restaurants which looked beautiful but we didn’t get around to booking one of them. We found the Labyrinthos restaurant was perfect, offering some of the best food of any hotel we have ever stayed in and authentic Greek options. We could select starters and mains from a wonderful buffet area and choose a main from a menu which changed each day.
We ventured into Agios on a couple of evenings and found this to be beautiful! The tavernas had stunning views of the sea whilst you ate. There were also lots of interesting shops to see. A taxi from the hotel was only €7 for a 5-10 min journey.
All the staff in the hotel were amazing and super friendly and helpful, working hard to keep the resort looking clean and immaculate. I would like to especially mention Maria, Nektaria and Ellie who mainly looked after us at meal times and were always so cheerful, happy and couldn’t enough for you! I will miss them!
We wouldn’t hesitate to return again as it was a truly stunning holiday and gave us a touch of paradise, if only for a few days! Thank you to all at St. Nicolas!

Beautiful Hotel in a really stunning setting with great views from the room.
We stayed in an incredible villa overlooking the sea and was one of the best rooms we have stayed in. Alex the GM is fantastic, we had a small issue with our room on arrival and he sorted this out for us very quickly and made sure we happy and had a great stay. Always present at breakfast and dinner to greet the guests, he has a real sense of what true hospitality is about and how to exceed your guests expectations - a real Manager!
Thank you to Alex and the team for a memorable stay

Hands down this is the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in, the the most amazing views and the most laid back, chilled vibe. I can't fault the grounds and the scenery because it genuinely blew me away.
However, there are a few things which left a bitter taste in my mouth which makes me think twice about coming back.
Firstly, the charge for water at Dinner/Lunch honestly feels like someone is taking the **** out of you. It's an extortionate price for a bottle of water on top of the premium price you've already paid to be there and I can't help but feel like I was being milked for as much money as possible. Further to that, the 'themed' Greek night at the Al La Carte restaurant literally served the exact same food as what we'd been eating all week on the buffet? I also ended up fainting in the middle of dinner due to the heatwave we were in just as the mains were served, so we only ate the starter and then had to leave as I obviously wasn't feeling well.. and we were still asked to pay the full €130 which I felt was a bit unfair.
We also had 2 cockroaches in the room, which we had identified as coming out of the bathroom doorframe as it had a really big gap in it, we mentioned it a few times and asked if someone could maybe come and fill it and it would resolve the problem, which they said someone would but nobody ever did. Similar to not being able to get Netflix on the TV, we like to wind down with a film some times and we couldn't as the connection didn't work which again they said someone would come and sort but they didn't.
These are very trivial things, and I normally wouldn't be bothered. But this is a premium resort where you've paid a premium price so you do in fairness expect everything to be perfect.
I can't the fault the room, albeit it a little small, it was perfectly functional for what we needed and it was spotlessly clean and tidy. It was a "partial sea view" and it very much was partial 😂 but that's exactly what it was described as.
In terms of location, it's just slightly too far out of Ag Nik, and believe me we like to walk. The distance isn't really the problem, it takes probably 30-40 mins to get into the centre of Ag Nik, it's just most of that is on a very narrow, busy road. So it's not a very enjoyable walk. We also struggle to walk it in the day as we were there during a heatwave and it is definitely top far in 40 degree heat. However, there are 2 little shops/supermarkets as well as 3 bars/restaurants within a 5-10 min walk of the hotel which we utilised.
We had booked as half board, but when we checked in we had 5 days at full board which they said we had paid for (we hadn't so this was definitely a mistake, and we did say so but they were adamant we had paid for it) so for the first few days we had lunch in the hotel. If you don't want to leave the hotel then it is definitely worth it, as the club sandwich alone is 23€. After the full board had finished we didn't eat in the hotel anymore just due to the price of the food.
Other than the themed night I mentioned, we thought the food was fantastic. The buffet system at night worked really well, as you're able to also order a main off a menu, and it was generally very varied. Though the signage was sometimes a bit hit and miss as to whether it stated it was veggie etc or not. The signage for a lot of things was often missing.
The staff were brilliant, it was always the same people and although sometimes service was a bit slow, we never minded as what else did we have to do? Lol overall they're a huge credit to the hotel. There's buttons on some of the umbrellas to get a drink which we never really used as I get bored laying all day and I feel like pushing buttons for someone to come to me is a bit weird seen as I've got legs, but we did hear a few people say they often never came or the buttons were broken.
The manager does walk around and say hello everyday, which is a nice touch but as a young couple we felt he mostly just glossed over us to spend time with the older more regular guests?
The gym is very small, but alright. It desperately needs some new dumbells and a new rower though.
Never had an issue getting a sunbed anywhere, we mostly laid around the new adults pool as it's nice and quiet but then occasionally would go around the rocky area near the sea. It was nice to have so many places to lay/sit/chill out. We also enjoyed using the pool table in the teenagers play area thing.. though this did seem to randomly close without warning for meetings 😂
Overall, we had a great time, it was an amazing 2 weeks, just the niggles as pointed out above. I'm not entirely sure it is worth what we paid, but we had a very relaxing week nonetheless

A wonderful experience! From the arrival throughout our stay, we truly had an amazing 3 night stay at the property. We were fortunate to receive an upgrade (due to Hilton status) and a wonderful suite, overlooking the Bay. The location was perfect for us, allowing us to enjoy the resort but also be close enough to town. Yiannis & Manos at the Bonatsa Jetty Bar are THE BEST! Their hospitality, kindness & service made our visit extremely special. We hope to return in the future, thank you again!
