From arrival to farewell this resort is superb. One of the, if not the best, in the Caribbean. An excellent room with a view and super efficient cleaner to keep it in pristine condition. The restaurants are all complement each other very effectively although the service at each of the three is very professional and friendly and with excellent and varied menus. The fish dishes are particularly succulent. A warning, however: to get exactly what you want it is best to book well in advance. Exceptionally noteworthy are the bar staff: all very friendly and obliging. It would be invidious to single out any individual as they were all so good. Perhaps we just saw more of the perfect Ryan and Brian and Alex who we look forward seeing on our return next year for that perfect old fashioned rum punch. Clients are mainly British (and of varying ages) although we met and dined with some charming New Yorkers. Just a shame that one large group of braying Brits behaved as if they owned the place and attempted to dominate the place at everyone else's expense. The site is interesting and well worth some close attention particularly the topography and the siting of the windmill which drove the distillery which it originally was. The gym is air conditioned and well equipped for those who are in the habit of exercise. We will certainly be back!

On arrival all seemed o.k, we dropped our cases & went to eat, as it had been a long day already !! Had booked for the Palm for dinner the following day which appeared a limited menu, on asking if we could book in advance for the Cove the reef, to be told they were shut or fully booked, so for 10 days we had to eat at the Palms, which was disappointing as we got talking to others that had arrived that same day & said they had emailed the hotel in advance & booked, in my opinion this should be reviewed & only booked when you arrive!! Very limited menu at the Palms, 5 starters & mains, and very poor selection of desserts. We then ate at the cove, which was a long wait for food, then wrong order came, which had happened on a few occasions in all places, although we are on vacation & not in a hurry, an hour for starters seems a bit of a joke!! We were not the only ones asking if our order was on its way, another couple asked to be told they hadn't got their order & others coming in after them , to be fed first . Alot of orders going to wrong tables or not getting right drinks , sauces, etc that you had asked for. We asked at breakfast what the smoothie was & couldn't be told as Management that had seated us didn't know, so had to ask waiter/ waitresses!! Bar service was good thanks to Ryan, Pearl, Brian T, and a few others also, but alot of staff not even noticing clients that needed to be served. Our room was in block 3 which had no problems, very clean,lovely views so thanks to Sonia & the others that serviced the rooms to a high level. On Valentines day they had a special limited menu in the cove, we had booked for 7pm, chose our food, we got our starters an hour later, again after this we had to ask where our main courses were at 9pm, for a very limited menu was a bit of a joke !! After reading the positive reviews , we considered the service 3 star at best. If you have only 3 ala carte restaurants, they need to be open at all times, as one of them is closed every evening with a more varied menu!!

North Eastern corner of Antigua We visited in early February as two couples on a ten day ‘all inclusive’ Virgin Holiday. The first seven days of our stay certainly lived up to the billing - beautiful surroundings, great food from three on-site restaurants, with just a tinge of typical laid back Caribbean service. The last three days, however, felt as though we had been transported to a completely different location.These days coincided with the beginning of half term in the UK and mid winter break in the USA. Suddenly everywhere became packed, the main restaurant morphed into primarily a buffet rather than a la carte and service suffered accordingly. In addition, having pointed out a loose light fitting in the adults only pool, that was promptly closed for the duration of our stay. All in all what started off as a 5 Star experience, became a more run of the mill, 3/4 Star one - still good, but reduced our overall rating from what otherwise would have been a straight 5.

We booked direct with the hotel. 50 % deposit paid and balance taken via American Express a few weeks before arrival. So we were shocked at the end of a fantastic week to be told at check out that the hotel had made an error and had not charged the full amount in US dollars. So we were hit with another US 600 dollars on top of our seperate incidentals. Very poor service from accounts / reservations. Funny how they didn’t tell us when we checked in - it took the gloss off the holiday. Definitely need to pre book restaurant choices in advance. We found the Cove dissapointing after waiting all week to dine there. The Reef is great for lunch but it seemed to have a small menu when we dined in the evening ( again on the only night we could get a booking ) The Palm is relaxed and food very good.

Blue Waters Resort and Spa, the name is obvious the second you arrive -- you see blue waters from reception ! Our third 9 night visit in three years , the experience as marvellous as ever , so well run with amazing staff. Book the Cove Restaurant for at least a couple of evenings, if you want to eat with the sea and sunset in view book for 6,30pm -- amazing . No long beaches to walk on its true but busy would be 10 guests in the sea at any one time, sun beds and umbrellas always available , fruit on a cocktail stick and drinks to hand without moving !! All in all a fantastic property to holiday at if you are looking for relaxation, if you want night life St John's is 15 minutes away.

If you’re after daily aqua aerobic classes, cardio tennis, bagging a sun lounger with a towel at 5am or karaoke evenings, then this is not the resort for you. If, on the other hand, you like beautiful gardens, a gently lapping ocean, nooks and crannies to escape to, great food and bar staff who remember your drinks order from the get-go, then book a trip to Blue Waters immediately. There is plenty to do if you choose to - including hobie cats, kayaks, yoga and Pilates, garden walks, fishing off the point etc - but the beauty of this place is that there is absolutely no compunction to do anything except sleep, eat and drink if that’s what you feel like. The staff are so friendly and efficient - shout out to Nicole in her gorgeous coordinated outfits, to Tramaine who runs Veronica’s bar with miraculous efficiency and also the cocktail guys at Pelican’s who make a mean dry martini. The food is lovely - three restaurants, all of which are a la carte, so none of the ghastly buffets you often get at all-inclusive resorts. Huge variety of things for breakfast, including a DIY Bloody Mary station, smoothie of the day, and juices made up to your specification if you ask nicely. We are definitely going back next year.

We stayed at this resort in early November for 10 days. From the beginning it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel is beautifully situated on 13 acres of well maintained grounds at Soldiers bay. The accommodations were of a uniformly high standard and the service and food in the 3 restaurants was outstanding .Our comfortable suite was in a block which had its own pool that was maintained daily. The hotel staff were delightful and without exception were friendly and professional. Our driver based at the hotel for a trip around the Island was Louis who was considerate and knowledgeable. Brian on the staff of the cove restaurant also deserves a mention for his kind and friendly service each time we visited there. We would recommend The Blue Waters as a slice of paradise, to all who may be considering a visit to Antigua. We hope to return in the not too distant future.

Excellent stay. Supremely relaxing from arrival onwards. Very professionally managed resort. The choice of 3 dining areas meant that we had plenty of choice for food. Food quality was excellent at breakfast and reasonable to good at lunch and evening. Would have no hesitation in going back.

This is paradise! Everything was super, the service, our room, the resort landscaping and the food. The service was perfect and very personal, housekeeping, reception, concierge and dining host soon knew our name and greeted us like friends. Our room was very quiet, overlooking the ocean, bathroom had plenty of space for everything and a nice balcony. The resort had lots of chairs and cabanas so there was no shortage of resting opportunities, throughout the resort area small spaces in addition to the usual location like beach and pool. The resort is well kept, flowers everywhere. Breakfast buffet is very rich and warm items are also super. Dinner options also great (we were on bed and breakfast plan with a la cart dinner). Overall, a very relaxing vacation for us, the only issue is the distance from our home in California to Antigua, otherwise we would come back every year!

We loved our stay at Blue Waters Resort, it's an expansive campus so there are many areas to enjoy, including beach access ~ which they conveniently have kayaks and other water sports gear available onsite and ready-to-go! We've been to other hotels in the area and what I enjoyed most about Blue Waters was the main common area facilities, where you can hang out in different places to relax - such as the lobby and then nearby the bar or even one of several restaurants which are all facing the ocean / water views. The staff was super helpful and kind, and delivered top-notch service. This place felt great to visit as a couple, and was also very family friendly as well~ the morning breakfast was a perfect way to start the day with fresh fruits, juices and anything else you wanted to order. Antigua is one of my favorite destinations, don't forget to get a helicopter tour too! Because you'll be able to see a lot of things to do, especially since there are a lot of nearby great places to explore~ the location was very convenient.

Lovely location on the north coast of Antigua. Had a wonderful relaxed week at Blue Waters, would definitely go again but feel that in these days of raised customer service there are a few areas where the hotel really need to improve. The large majority of staff are wonderful but you feel that a small handful can’t really be bothered. One example - When we initially asked for late checkout we were told it was unlikely to be available and they could not guarantee another room for our use for a shower etc before our departure. We asked another member of staff an hour later and she was delighted to say that we could stay in our room beyond the checkout time. The hotel needs some maintenance, broken elements at the bottom of some of the pools and very rusty handrails down to the beach, cracked mirror in the bathroom and dodgy shower door. Housekeeping rarely cleaned up dirty glasses from the night before etc. One issue that was very poor was the lack of hot water in the evening if you had a shower at what was obviously peak time! Fully recommend the boat trips, the guys could not look after you any better. The reef bar at the beach is great and Palm restart also good when in a la Carte format, but we are not big fans of buffet style. I’d look at other hotels before booking again, but had a wonderfully relaxed week.

We stayed for a week here and loved it. For us, the best part was the spectacular view of the sea from our Cove Suite room 2B, we were fairly close to the sea and had an absolutely clear view of it. Watching the sunsets from our balcony was also lovely. We thought the views from any of the 2nd floor rooms in Cove Villa 1, 2 or 3 would be as nice. The Cove suite rooms are lovely, very spacious and comfortable. The 3 beaches are all a little small, but very nice; the sea is quite peaceful, the water is warm and you can walk out quite a ways and still be only chest-deep. As other reviewers have mentioned, sometime hard to find an empty beach chair. All 3 restaurants are good, we would rank Cove as the best one, followed by Palm, followed by Reef. Cove is more of a fine dining experience, while Reef is more beach casual, with Palm somewhere in between. We also had a wonderful dinner (roast pork being the highlight) on the beach one night. You need to reserve tables a few days in advance, specially at the Cove. All of them are situated well in terms of looking out at the water. We were on the all-inclusive plan, but the a la carte prices for the restaurant are not crazily expensive, on our next visit we are not sure whether we will go in for the all-inclusive. The staff here are just wonderful, we would particularly like to thank Derah and Sparkel at the Palm, Kia at different bars and the Cove villa 2 housekeeper. All in all, a lovely relaxing vacation, we will be back!
