We were nervous to try this place after reading so many negative reviews. However, we had a marvelous time. We didn't experience any lengthy wait for food, all food and beverage choices were in ample supply. PROS: The spa was heavenly and the staff outstanding. Michelle took excellent care of me. Insomnia Cafe was our favorite. Latonya makes the most outstanding coffee treats. Carl and Neil were are butlers and took excellent care of us. The pool and beaches were clean and never crowded. CONS: The food is not 5 star. I understand it's a big resort with many people but the quality was barely 3 star. Bugs. My husband sat on our balcony everyday and got painfully chewed up. The hotel did supply medication and spray but the damage was severe. Overall it was a pleasant experience. We had a swim out suite at the diamond club level. We feel it was worth the cost.

Antonio was a great instructor. I am 76 and was able to keep up. So much fun to exercise. Antonio was patient with all of the people in the class. Energetic and outgoing . I would take up exercise class if he were my instructor . Love aqua fit. Great for all ages . 😎
If you want a relaxing *5 holiday, this is not for you. Make sure you read all the reviews before you decide to choose this hote

We have just returned from a 7 night stay and are relieved we did not stay any longer. 1. We went to our room locked valuables in the safe and kept suitcases locked. (Thank goodness we did). Went for a look around. And on returning to our room, found that someone had been in there, urinated in the toilet and put a towel on it!!! How disgusting. We immediately went to report this and demanded another room. They moved us 2 rooms away, which had no bathrobes, and the minibar was empty apart from a half empty can of canada dry tonic water. 2. Dirty glasses, plates, half eaten birthday cake etc left on the corridor walls. Actually saw a mongoose eating the leftover food from one of the plates. 3. Olympus and Haven Grill Restaurants ... food had to be returned at both as it was luke warm. 4. Hunters Restaurant..booked a meal for 8:30. When we went there, it was closed! 5. Buffet restaurant...Luke warm food. 6. Call received to ask if room was OK (Monday). Advised them that we did not have any glasses. They said they would send some. None received by the time we left on Tuesday. 7. Smell of pot everywhere. One resident was even blatantly smoking a joint at the quiet pool. 8. Entertainment is deafening and you cannot hear the TV. 9. Can hear the toilet being flushed in the next room, and also personal noises. 10. Shop on site is expensive. $27 for sunscreen, so make sure you take enough. $64 For a sun hat. $120 for a linen shirt. Plus sides.. Lovely staff. Very polite. Branded drinks. Plenty of sun beds around pools and on beach. This is far below any of the *5 we have stayed in. They have a lot of work to do. All of this was fed back to customer services. Never again. Please read the reviews. We are not the only disappointed guests. And for over £4k, this is not what you expect.

Our trip was February 2025, we chose this resort because we wanted an adults only resort, and liked the location. We got to the resort at 4pm, she said room not ready yet, (keep in mind check in is at 3pm) no problem so we went and had a drink, fast forward to 920pm we finally got into a room!! Asking multiple times when is our room going to be ready. it was not even the room we booked, we booked a king bed room, got 2 beds instead. We tried to contact a manager and our travel agent tried contacting management multiple times with NO response . The beach has alot of seaweed on it compared to Sandels resort right down the beach. The food is nothing special, you cannot get into the steak restaurant for nothing. At some point by the beach bar, no bartender in sight, self service would be something to think about. We would not chose this resort again.

We had a good vacation in a beautiful location but I would not recommend this resort. The beach is beautiful, the resort is clean and well-equipped but they have work to do. Restaurants - average at best and they are not all open on any one day. Pescari is billed as a special over-the-water experience but it was not special at all - the menu is weak and at dinner you can’t see the ocean even though you are on top of it. It should be open for breakfast and lunch as well but is not open in the evening. The other restaurants are OK with Vespa likley the best. Bars are overwhelmed despite not having an abundance of guests. The staff do their best though. At night there are only 2 bars open and they are generally not well-stocked. The rooms are very clean, that’s a win. They should be considering the age of the property. Staff keep them very clean and well-stocked. They are not as big and well-appointed as other Royaltons we’ve been to. We had a Diamond Club ocean view room so it should have been quite good. The service is average and we found few that went out of their way to create a great experience. Many try but they are hampered by an under-staffed resort that is skimping on food and beverage. The beach is beautiful and the island is one we would likely visit again but we could not recommend this resort and won’t likely return.

We really loved the entertainment especially the vibeteam. Timothy is a jaw dropping entertainer to watch along side Shia brothers. They always keep the crowd on their feet and cracking up with laughter, they are a joy to be around and watch.
Elvis is one of the best instructors i have met, he is knowledgable, and well experienced in his line of work, he showed me a few movements to target the lower chest, which i really needed. Elvis is a great asset to this company , and an energy that is unreal.
Beautiful island, but disappointing resort experience.

This was the most average experience I have ever had at an all inclusive resort. My wife and I were there for 5 nights. We tried ordering room service twice, and both times they were "out of pizza". We paid for the upgraded Diamond experience, yet at the Super Bowl party they wanted to charge me for Corona beer, and at a Diamond-only restaurant we didn't have full access to the menu unless we wanted to pay extra. Additionally, the service was slow at every bar that we went to. I'm not sure if they were understaffed, or the staff just didn't care. On a positive note, the beach and water was gorgeous, and the weather is perfect here. It's not a bad property, but it's just not worth the price for what you get back.

We had read the mixed reviews prior to visiting, so we weren't exactly sure what we would find. It's the Caribbean, we had a nice time! We realize we are paying for location- and the landscape was lovely. We saw lots of ocean life. Food- we didn't starve. To me, it rated about cruise buffet food. Nothing was wrong with it. I was able to find options at every meal. In regards to service, everyone was nice, but we found their butler system to not work well. The one time we asked our butler for food- it took almost 2 hours to get. But he would ask all the time if we need anything. Why say yes? (We did tip, for everything) Lastly- tip for others- bug spray. Take bug spray.

Review of boot camp at Royalton chic
Daniel did a great job with the morning boot camp. The workout was challenging but not crazy. Good exercises and different ones. Learned a few new things. We ended up doing 4 rounds, and the 2nd round really got the legs going. Needed a good sweat in this lovely resort.
Amazing gym and instructors.. Loved the bootcamp!! Thanks Daniel and the rest of the crew. Great gym as well. One of the best I have seen in any hotel. Well equipped including cardio and weights Try it if you are here. Definitely worth it Thanks

Eliena was an awesome fitness instructor. I usually never participate in water activities BUT she was so welcoming and made the water aerobics FUN!!!!! I engaged with her and the fitness team and can’t wait to take the class again when I return.
Would not care to return to this resort but Antigua is beautiful.
Fitness Center is awesome! Food was excellent. Clean resort. Service was not good. Very slow, room stuarts carts were always short of wash rags, towels , soap etc. Took 3 days to get hand soap. Out of 7 days our room was cleaned once. Short supply of drinks at all bars. Needs management.
I had the opportunity to take part in the fitness class instructed by Eliena here at the resort at 11:30. It was aqua aerobics and it was very fun and challenging. Good way to get my body moving and feel less guilty about all the eating. She’s amazing, we loved...

I returned from Royalton Chic a few weeks ago and have mixed feelings about my stay. I wanted to give myself time to reflect before posting my review. We stayed in a pool view room, not DC. Positives: -Beatiful property and beach -The employees are so friendly -The foam pool party was a lot of fun -Maintenance was quick to fix our AC when it went out. -The spa was really nice -Despite having a crowded bar a lot and one bar tender, I never waited more than 5 minutes for a drink. Karlos was quick and made great drinks. Not so positive: -The food. I know food is very subjective, but there wasn't a single dish at this property that I loved. I've been going to Caribbean resorts 2-3 times a year for about 10 years, and I rarely take issue with resort food. So much of it tasted like cafeteria food to me and almost alwsys was cold to barely warm. -Restaurants seem to be out of half the menu. The night we went to Olympus it was really bad. We were seated about 8:40. It was almost 9:15 before someone came to take our order, and the waitress pointed out that they were out of about half the menu. We ordered the hummus appetizer and the steak dish. We were told they didn't have the gnocchi with the steak, but they were substituting mashed potatoes. At about 9:45, they came and said they were out of hummus and asked if we wanted a different appetizer. We said the Chicken kafta was fine and they brought that. At about 10:40 they brought our steak out and explained they were out of mashed potatoes, so they substituted vegetables. The vegetables were a tiny pile of shredded lettuce with no dressing (see photo). When we left at almost 11 pm, we were still hungry. We tried to order room service, but it said it was temporarily unavailable. We went to Excite and got some snacks. This was a common theme for the rest of our trip, so we would go to the buffet before our dinner reservations, assuming they would be out of most things on the menu. I've experienced restaurants running out of an item or two before, but nothing like this. -When we arrived and were taken to our room, it was filled with mosquitos. Housekeeping leaves the room doors open when they change over rooms, so I'm assuming that's why. We killed about 20 mosquitoes, but I still got bit up over night. Our room also only had 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel, no bathmat or wash cloths/face towels. I requested some while we were at the beach our first day. I got a response that said they were placed in our room, but they were not. I asked again and got no response the second time. We tracked someone down before dinner, so I could have them before bed. -Housekeeping only came twice during our stay. This normally wouldn't be an issue for us, but when we were only given two towels and one hand towel, it became frustrating to track someone down. I initially booked an overwater bungalow before they were fully built. My booking confirmation stated that it was a junior 1-bedroom private suite with an expansive living room and dining room area. After they were built and featured as conjoined rooms, I contacted both Marriott and the Royalton because what my room description said was vastly different from what the junior suite actually was, but the only response I received was from Marriott. They kept saying they would check with the resort and get back to me. They never did after multiple attempts. I downgraded to the pool view room a couple weeks before my stay, and I'm so happy I did. I would have been so disappointed having to share a bungalow with only a non-sound proof door as a separation. In addition, the DC beach area was rocky with a bunch of seaweed and few chairs. The beach was so much nicer closer to Sandals. My husband is not a fan of sushi, so we wouldn't have eaten at the overwater restaurant. For the cost of the bungalow, the food/restaurant situation would have been even more disappointing. DC, in general, would not have been worth the extra money to me. I don't think I would return to this resort, or stay at a different Royalton resort, because the cost doesn't seem to match what you get.

Let me give an honest view about the Royalton, based on our recent 2 week stay. The hotel is relatively new and in a great location on Dickenson Bay. We upgraded to Diamond Club which is a little pricey, but you do get a few extras included in the price. I will be honest about the review as I feel some you read are not necessarily a fair reflection of the resort. The overall comment I would make is that the hotel still has some challenges as it is relatively new, but they are certainly not show stoppers, they are more about attention to detail. If I start with the rooms. We had a partial sea view suite with terrace which was a reasonable size, well finished and had everything we needed. A small frustration which was easily fixed was house keeping didn’t always leave coffee pods in the room. This is one of those attention to detail issues which is really easy to fix. Many reviews criticise the food, but I have to be honest and say overall it’s fine. Reasonable choice and mix of locations to eat for all meals be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. What I would say if you are looking for Michelin Star fine dining you will be disappointed, but all of the restaurants are OK. Again if I was to comment on attention to detail, I would suggest that the booking of restaurants even with the butler service could be a bit hit and miss. It didn’t bother us, but I could see some people found this frustrating. The bars throughout the resort are all good, and have all high end branded drinks if you want them. I generally found the staff helpful. Like any resort you go to, some staff are really stand out, others do what they need to do. I was a little surprised on a couple of occasions to hear guests being quite rude to staff which regardless of the issue, manners and being respectful cost nothing. We enjoyed our holiday and would return. The hotel is clean and well presented, when I did raise a concern it was responded too, so all in all it has a lot of possiitves.

Our butlers- Kemoy & Errolson, & fitness instructor - Daniel made our experience so awesome! We loved their service. Our favorite restaurant was Vespa an Italian restaurant and the other ones were good but not what you would call a five star restaurant but remember you’re at an all-inclusive. We stayed in a bungalow which was phenomenal and we would go back in a heartbeat. The check in took a long time but they had free drinks so just sit back relax and you’ll get to your room soon.

Booked via TUI but did not see one rep there and did not receive any contact details while we were there. This place is not good. If you book via TUI there is a good chance your room will be in block 1 which is opposite the stage entertainment. It is advertised that there is a sports bar which is true but this does not open until 9.30 pm UK time when the sport is over. The food quality is terrible and certainly not 5 star quality and drinks are of the same poor quality standard. The hotel itself is nice and most of the staff are friendly. Finally, do not upgrade to diamond as it really is not worth it. Beware.
