Epic, downright epic stay here. Didn't know a place like this even existed to be honest. It's a hidden gem in paradise. Crytal clear warm waters, amazing accmodations, superb service, etc etc I could really go on and on We showed up with a plan of all these activities we were gonna do but given how beautiful the environment was, we just relaxed, read, and enjoyed the amazing carribbean waters. The service was ultra friendly and personal, with everyone being accommodating to every need and request. The resort has an excellent mix of upbeat energy with quite relaxation, and you can find either one at the exact same time. The food was spectacular, and all meals are prepared fresh and served with a smile. We had an extra special night as a new sailbot experience is under way and we were able to check it out for dinner. This is going to a major hit as it is a sailboat (came from Conneticut) that can accomodate what looks like a dozen or more passengers for a beautiful sunset dinner. To be out in the bay overlooking the perfect water/sunset while enjoying a lovely dinner is a pinch yourself experience. I would highly recommend this once it becomes a regular part of their service. Special thanks to Rachel, Kenza, Daniel and a few others I'm blanking on for allowing us to experience this. Can't wait to be back to this one of a kind resort, where all your worries slip away.

If heaven was a place on earth, it would probably be in Hermitage Bay… in their sushi bar.

Beautiful beach, lovely rooms, great water sports and really friendly staff. Food was variable, sometimes excellent, but sometimes poor, drenched in too much oil. (Club sandwich at lunch was disgusting.) Often limited choice. Our biggest problem was that the hotel had been recommended to us by friends as a peaceful, romantic and very relaxing place. However, every lunchtime and evening there were very loud bands playing in the restaurant. I would much prefer to hear the waves rather than tacky pop music. You could even hear the music at the far end of the beach. Apparently the new owner wants to change the style of the resort. Please scrap the loud bands!

Best place to stay in the caribbean!
Everything was amazing, wonderful, excellent! The People, the food, the beach, the music, the bungalow, the Sushi-Bar … etc. Only one thing still has some room for improvement: the gym (not very well equippted).

Beautiful small resort with lovely beach, cabins, pool and staff. We loved our beachfront cabin and although didn’t try/see the higher up (more expensive…) cabins we thought being on the beach and a short walk to reception/mainbar/pool/dining area/lunch bar and restaurant much better for us - you have the sea as your plunge pool and it’s all very quiet and relaxing. Would be a score of 5 except for one water sports member of staff who we found unfriendly/unhelpful on our first morning (rest of staff lovely so this water sports experience really stood out) and disappointing late check out procedures - on the 2 days before we left we asked if we could keep our room a bit later on our day of departure as had evening flight - we were told to check on departure date which we did. A back office conversation then took place between receptionist and manager (felt similar to asking and waiting for a discount at a car dealership! A nice note under our door first thing would have been much better as we had asked previously and our request supposedly noted) for us to be told the resort was full and so we could have a shower in the spa instead. We quite understood that a guest room was not available (although interestingly throughout the day one could be booked through the hotel website for the whole of our departure date/night) but the spa shower was really disappointing- hot room, no towels ready, hairdryer didn’t work, no mirror/dressing table with electric socket to sit at once showered. And no umbrellas (it started to rain). Small things like this I think slightly let down what is otherwise a fabulous place.

Finding enough superlatives to describe Hermitage Bay is difficult other than to say this is a slice of paradise. Its supreme location with a long white sandy beach against a spectacular hillside back drop of lush greenery makes for a calm and peaceful ambience. From the moment of arrival to departure your stay is made to be etched in the memory. The welcome is exceptional and you are made to feel part of the very special Hermitage family. The level of service is unique in so much that not only is your every need and wish taken care of but it is overlaid with each and every member of staff's warmth and individual personality. Since our previous visit the new beach club is a fabulous venue for lunch. The food is excellent with the sharing platter for starters, a great way to wake those taste buds with incredile flavours. Afternoon sushi, which the chef creates in front of you, is another innovative enhancement at the Tree bar. Overall the food is faultless with a wide choice and the knowledge that the onsite organic kitchen garden has provided much of the food on your plate. The accommodation is beautiful The suites are both spacious and luxurious. Waking to either spectacular landscape views or the sea lapping against that white sandy beach is the most relaxing, mindful and wonderful experience. Thank you Hermitage Bay for a truly unforgetable stay.

Wow we have just had the most glorious stay at The wonderful Hermitage Bay … we last stayed in 2019 and loved every second and didn’t think it could be any better but wow I was wrong … so many lovely enhancements … one of my favourite is the fabulous new beach club that provides a wonderful lunchtime spot with incredible food and great entertainment too just footsteps from the waters edge is has such a fabulous atmosphere with a fun vibe really fabulous ! Last time we stayed in a hillside suite and thought it couldn’t be beaten but this time we were in a beach front suite and we totally loved it especially with the new fantastic extended deck and wow the best thing is that view to wake to and of course the outdoor shower … I now struggle to decide which would be my favourite suite type … one thing is for sure there is something for everyone if you prefer to be on the beach or a hillside villa with a private pool … also the garden villas are beautiful and tranquil and now have private pools too … great if you want to be close to the beachfront and also near to the lobby and restaurants Another fantastic additional is the tree bar and this serves Sushi daily too as well as delicious cocktails But for me the biggest thing is the feeling of welcome and feeling you have arrived home … from the moment we arrived and were greeted with such a warm welcome and cool flannels the feeling of knowing we were in for a fantastic time was evident … It so special to be greeted so warmly by the special team here who are like a big family and clearly love what they do … they make Hermitage Bay the fanatic special resort that it is … from the front desk / concierge to the fantastic restaurant and bar staff who all are so warm friendly and are keen to ensure we were having a fantastic time … This beautiful resort gives a feeling of calm and tranquility along with the most delicious food and superb service … better than ever and can’t wait to return … Thankyou Hermitage Bay

Words cannot describe how amazing this resort is. Peaceful, laid back and calming are the words that come to mind. From our arrival to our departure, there is not one thing I would change. The way the all-inclusive portion of your stay is structured with regard to food and drink works incredibly well. The food and drinks were delicious! The service from everyone we encountered from reception to restaurant staff, the spa to housekeeping and from waterfront servers to bell people was positive, friendly and efficient. I have never had my needs so well anticipated! Our hillside pool villa was spacious and the bed was actually comfortable. I had some trepidation about the outdoor shower but it was completely unfounded. It provided privacy, amazing water pressure and toiletries that smelled great. Our spa service with Sharon was very relaxing and rejuvenating and the spa itself is beautiful and serene. My fiance and I are already making plans to go back. It is expensive but worth every penny and beyond reasonable for the service, accommodations and food and drinks they provide.

So pleased to have discovered Hermitage Bay in Antigua. Tempted to say that our lifelong search for paradise is complete! Cannot fault a single thing from staff to catering, accommodation and facilities. Love the principle of being able to tip collectively at checkout, knowing it is shared with all front and back office staff. Areas of improvement? NONE. Complaints? We seem to have come home a little heavier. Surprises? We left a jumper in our airport transfer car, and Hermitage, as if by magic, had it waiting for us when we boarded our flight. What amazing service!!!

Our stay at Hermitage Bay Resort was absolutely unforgettable. The natural setting of the resort is breathtaking—secluded and peaceful, with no other resorts in sight, which made it feel like our own private paradise. Our beachfront room featured a huge deck with multiple outdoor seating areas, and the outdoor shower was a fantastic touch. Waking up to the unobstructed view of the beach and ocean was a highlight of each day. One of the most memorable experiences was the romantic dinner we had on the beach to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was a delicious and incredibly private affair, with a beautifully set table and the sound of the waves as the perfect backdrop—it felt like the ultimate intimate dining experience. The VIP service provided for an expedited customs process and airport arrival. Solange at the front desk was a standout, making us feel welcome right from check-in and throughout our entire stay. The resort’s small size allowed the staff to get to know us by name, creating a friendly and personalized atmosphere. Kyle, the beach attendant, was especially kind and made sure we had everything we needed for a truly relaxing experience. The nightly sushi at the tree bar was a fun way to meet other guests, and the massages at the spa were top-tier. We also enjoyed the complimentary watersports, especially the private Hobie cat lesson, which was led by an amazing instructor. The new lunch venue with live music or a DJ added a lively element to the resort, which was great for us as younger guests. The evening live entertainment each night kept the vibe upbeat and entertaining. The food at Hermitage Bay was absolutely delicious, with fresh, flavorful dishes that made every meal a highlight. Lastly, it was fun to spot various superyachts taking advantage of the calm cove; they're choosing this spot because it's absolutely beautiful. While our experience was nearly flawless, there were a few minor points worth mentioning for feedback. The beach, although secluded, is technically public, and we did encounter an outside beach vendor who was loudly talking on a cell phone right next to our chaise lounges. This was unusual, given the absolute privacy the loungers otherwise provided. When we politely asked the vendor to move, she was very hostile, so it might be worth the resort considering improved security or a better way to handle such situations. Additionally, while the resort is adults-only, the owner's children were present during our visit. While they were well-behaved, it was a little surprising to see children in what is otherwise an adults-only environment. Another suggestion would be to offer food service at the pool and beach areas. While drinks were available pool and beachside, it was a bit unusual compared to other luxury resorts not to have food service in these spots. Despite these minor points, we would absolutely return to Hermitage Bay again and again. The staff, the food, and the overall serene atmosphere made for a perfect getaway. We can’t wait to come back!

Hermitage is always 100% wonderful. New management has made a few tweaks and so far they all seem to work. Hoping they don't make the property to corporate/commercial. Only point for improvement would be a lavatory near the fitness center.

As a frequent traveler who is passionate about islands in the Caribbean and off the beaten track remote locales in Central America, I had the Hilton and Small Luxury Hotels partnership on my radar long before it became a reality for HH points bookings at SLH properties. I selected Hermitage Bay for a 6 night rewards stay over Thanksgiving because of its beautiful beach, secluded location and small number of rooms in comparison with most resorts. I arrived with high expectations after having vacationed at many other luxury boutique lodges and resorts. The first 24 hours were a total disappointment because we were not given the beachfront suite room type that I had specifically reserved months prior to arrival but, on day two, they rectified the situation and we were moved from the garden to the correct beachfront suite room type and fairly compensated for the issue and inconvenience. It was smooth sailing thereafter! What I love most about Hermitage Bay is their idyllic location on a long stretch of white sand beach dotted with almond trees, seagrapes ,and palms for shade, and with ample chaise loungers and umbrellas to be able to enjoy the perfect beach vacation. The constant sound of the waves and beauty of the turquoise water and green hills in the distance transports you into an out of this world experience. Add to that the unique “Tree” bar built around a tree on the beach and the AMAZING Jesse (beach attendant) Shari-Ann (bartender) who are both so kind and demonstrate that they truly care about the guests enjoyment of Hermitage Bay. And did I men the best piña coladas to cool off from the heat?! Last but not least is the heavenly serenade of the tree frogs each evening - it is THE BEST NATURAL MUSIC! The beachfront suites are very comfortable and have a to die for deck overlooking the beach and ocean with a sunset view. The AC unit was extremely quiet which was a major plus to be able to enjoy the sound of the waves even while it was in use. Meals were excellent and there were plenty of choices in both food and drink to satisfy a wide range of preferences. We thoroughly enjoyed the fresh catch fish options at both lunch and dinner! Dinner entertainment with the local musicians was a treat every evening and they had some really talented singers! Watersports with Tafari and Galloway are the BEST and we enjoyed the two complimentary tours included during our stay. We also enjoyed sailing the Hobie Cats and paddleboarding. Shout out to Jamie and Jillian and the entire team of restaurant hosts and servers - thank you all! And a special shout out to Simone who went out of her way to make us feel welcome at Hermitage Bay and to Anthony for his kindness, humor and musical talent! We already booked a return stay in 2025 and can’t wait! Highly recommend!

***READ IF CONSIDERING VACATIONING HERE*** To the owner & staff of Hermitage Bay; we hope you read our review. I am not sure where to begin, but our experience here at Hermitage Bay was nothing short of incredible. The report is gorgeous inside and out. It's beyond clean, it's in a beautiful location. The water is crystal clear and you have your own private reef to explore 10-15 feet off the edge of the water. It's that close. The resort was a special experience for us, and we would LOVE to be welcomed back. It was a 5/5 experience. Please read our review of our time here. Upon arrival we were greeted with fantastic welcome drinks by Selange. She helped us with our booking and was an absolute pleasure to start our trip with. She even upgraded us to the hillside view suites which are the gorgeous units with an incredible view since we celebrated our honeymoon here. However, when we arrived to the room we were a bit dissapointed because the room we were given was not renovated yet as the supplies were delayed from Hurricane. We were a bit upset because we were very excited for the new rooms (the entire resort is being renovated). Even though the hillside was just as beautiful and the view was fantastic, we expressed our concerns to Rachael, the GM, and she met with us the following morning. She was beyond understanding with our disappointments, and then gave us a beautiful, nearly fully renovated room up front on the water with a pool. The care she had for our honeymoon celebration made us feel welcome and seen. Kempton, I believe the assistant GM, checked on us EVERY DAY. He made sure we were happy, and it just made the experience better for us. He was also fantastic. The entire week was absolutely beautiful, and I would like to break things down a little bit so every area is met and everyone and everything this resort has to offer is recognized: FOOD: The food at hermitage bay was absolutely outstanding. Every day we were given breakfast, lunch, dinner & an incredible sushi bar happy hour from 4:30-6. The chefs were outstanding, and the resort did not hold back on giving us anything we could have wanted. Every meal was started with fresh pastries or selections of breads, endless sides and starters. The experience was fantastic. Our highlight of the trip was with Ismael at the sushi bar. He was spectacular and was very talented at what he does. We would look forward to seeing him every day, and he would give us extra servings of literally whatever we wanted. His hospitality and dedication made our trip even better; and is one of the main reasons why we plan on returning. SERVICE: The service here is incredible. Everyone here knew your name within the first day. Something like that is special and l've never seen it at any experience l've ever been to. You felt seen and welcomed. Partly because the GM Rachael runs such a tight ship, you could tell how well everyone is treated by her and the expectations the entire staff has for their guests. Alicia and Jaquan at the front desk were there whenever we needed them. The bar staff including Simone, Jamoll, Lian, Sandy, Patricia, & Jesse made our entire stay even better. However 2 young individuals really cared for our stay. Shemar, a young server, took care of us several times including our romantic private beach dinner. He was attentive, polite, and was a really incredible guy. And Kyle, the young man attending the bars and the beach was by far our favorite. He was the kindest person we met, and everyone was extremely kind. He was a hard worker; always brought us our towels and drinks and made sure we had whatever we needed. These 2 young guys really made our stay worthwhile. Please consider keeping them for a long time. We would LOVE to see them again. WATER SPORTS: The water sports team is also incredible. We were able to take complimentary boat tours around the island, snorkel tours as well. We also were able to sail whenever we wanted and for however long we wanted. The water was crystal clear blue, and featured perfect conditions for just about anything. I do want to say that Galloway was the best. Aside from Ismael at Sushi, Galloway was the other key for our desire to return. He took us on two boat tours both to the north and south parts of the island. He gave us the history of certain areas and the importance of them as well. He was beyond funny, welcoming and made us feel like we were on our own private excursion. He was incredible to be with, and we would be devastated if he was not there when we returned. MISC/ROOMS/CLEANLINESS: The resort has turndown service every night. Everything was spotless when we would come back from dinner. The house keeping was awesome. Most of the units have their own pools, we loved being able to relax in them privately after our day at the beach. The beach was spotless, with crews out daily to rake any seaweed. The only annoying aspect was that there were a lot of mosquitos. Nothing really in the restaurant or the units, but they're there. Bring bug spray. You are LITERALLY in the jungle. TIPPING: Tipping is included in your stay, however we still tipped out the staff. We have been to many all inclusive resorts and we always tipped. These people work very hard for their money. They deserve a little extra. They really go the extra mile for you, and I just believe it's right to reward 24/7 care; even if it's just a small amount. OVERALL: If you are considering staying here, we highly recommend it. This experience was flawless. The food, the drinks, the care, the atmosphere and the service was incredible and worth every ounce of our time. It really was fantastic and we were devastated to leave. The resort offers a very personable environment which is something 99% of resorts cannot offer due to its commercialism & large size. Please consider booking for the future, as you will not be disappointed. If you're management or the owners, please continue to bless the resort with this amazing staff. Without these individuals, we would be less likely to return. And to the entire management team & staff, thank you very much for everything you all have done. This experience was amazing because of all of you, and we loved every second of it. We hope to see you soon. Ryan & Tara
