Reviews of Waldorf Astoria Panama
Waldorf is definitely best. Rooms are 5 star. Service is over the top. Best is the location to restaurants which are just in walking distance. Breakfast is definitely excellent. Personalized service will not disappoint . Lobby bar menu and drinks are inviting.

The best thing about our stay here was the service. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning which had a nice spread, though quality of food was a bit uneven. The hotel itself was nice enough, though not in the same league as some other Waldorf Astoria hotels. Location is good, lots of interesting things around, but it doesn't have any views of the sea, though close. And walking to the sea Side park requires going out of the way quite a bit to cross the busy roads. Ubers are very easy to get and convenient to go anywhere around the city. The pool area is smallish, the water a bit green, and there are high rise buildings all around, so a bit of a different experience. We went for a little bit each afternoon to enjoy the tropical weather. All in all we enjoyed are stay here

Cleanliness is not a concern at this hotel. The hotel rooms were a decent size, but overall basic. We had one of only a few with a balcony, however it was too nasty to sit out there. There was dirty old packing tape on the balcony, and bird poop all over the chairs. There was an orange shoe print on the carpet and an old bandaid on the floor. The toilet seat was too small for the toilet and sat off kilter on the base of the toilet. We are Hilton rewards members but only received water upon check in. Additional water had to be purchased. It was summer in Panama and they should be handing water out generously for the safety of their clients. We talked with another couple staying there, and they describe it as “not a real Waldorf.”

This review is difficult to write because the Waldorf staff was AMAZING!!! However, the hotel does not meet the standards of the Waldorf Astoria brand.
The room - I booked a Junior Suite - and it was large - and it did have a view, but the shower didn't work - the lights and amenities were old and outdated, and it felt more like a lower-class Vegas hotel trying to be high class.
The breakfast, which I paid for as part of the package, checked all the boxes. There was a great omelet chef, and the pastries were fresh. But again, the offering was very much that of a lower-tier hotel trying to seem upper-tier.
The pool was tiny and green. I saw people servicing and cleaning it. However, it is not what is pictured on the site, and we would not go into it.
The same was to be said for the Gym and the Spa - both were small, very dated and did not invite the fees charged at the spa.
Again - the hotel staff, the concierge, and the front desk team were all amazing - but I would not recommend the property.

We had a lovely stay at the Waldorf! We used Hilton points to book our stay. We enjoyed being in the busy financial district and it really felt like you were part of the city. It is surrounded by great restaurants to visit and close to the walking path along the ocean.
The staff was super helpful during our stay. We worked with the concierge, Lille, she was very helpful in booking our tours and dinner reservations during our stay.
We had the King Terrace Level room, it was nice to be able to be outside and was mostly shaded for majority of the day so didn’t get too hot. There was not pads on the loungers when we arrived, we requested them and they were brought up right away. The room has some really cool features; the away/private/service buttons allowed you to easily share what you needed so the staff could know when to clean. Also they had turndown service which was a nice treat.
We used the pool most days and it was never too crowded and the pool bar staff was lovely and made a great cocktail.
We had a lovely stay, made excellent based on the team at the Waldorf. Thank you!

The Waldorf Astoria Panama is a very nice hotel, offering clean and spacious rooms with friendly, helpful staff. However, we expected a bit more luxury considering the Waldorf name.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed. One unique feature was the "do not disturb" system, which uses a button at the room entrance instead of traditional door signs.
The hotel staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and always ready to assist.
While the pool is on the smaller side, it was never crowded, making it a relaxing spot to unwind.
Following the concierge's suggestion, we used Uber, which is very affordable in Panama. For example, a round-trip ride to Casco Viejo, including a tip, cost less than $7.
Within walking distance, there’s a grocery store called Foodie, where we purchased fruit and water for the room, and a restaurant called The Market, which had excellent chicken sliders.
The air conditioning seemed to cycle on frequently, creating temperature swings between too cold and too warm, which impacted overall comfort.
The breakfast buffet was good, offering a variety of Panamanian dishes to try. However, there was no hand sanitizer station near the buffet, which would have been appreciated given the shared use of tongs by all guests.
There are no self-service ice machines on the floors; you have to request ice, which can be a minor inconvenience.
The hotel only has two elevators, and during busy times, the wait could feel quite long.
While the hotel did not feel as opulent as one might expect from a Waldorf Astoria property, it provided a comfortable and pleasant stay. The minor issues with air conditioning and the elevators did not detract significantly from our experience.
We appreciated the location, the helpfulness of the staff, and the ease of transportation. The nearby amenities also added to the convenience of our stay.
We would definitely stay here again if we return to Panama.

We decided to spend a week in Panamá and found the Waldorf as part of AMEX’s “Fine Hotels + Resorts” program. That included several great upgrades, including daily breakfast & resort credit that made this even better!
The room was really nice and comfortable. The service, everywhere in the hotel, was exceptional. If you don’t speak Spanish, you’ll be just fine with English. The breakfast buffet had good options & and an omelette chef daily. We ate lunch in the lobby bar (Peacock Alley) and had drinks both there and at the pool bar as well. Always great service/food/drinks. We did eat dinner in Matiz one night too. We didn’t use the spa, but did use the hot tub at the pool area - which was very relaxing!
Location is great to walk in the banking area downtown … restaurants, bars, etc but also there’s a grocery store right across the street & a pharmacy around the corner if you need anything. Uber is the way to get around (not taxis) and pickup/drop off is right in front of the hotel door! Wonderful stay!

BUNNY MALE WAITER EXCELLENT ALSO THIS STAFF HERE IS FANTASIC!! SPOIL YOURSELF GO THERE...
Fifth time staying in this hotel. But I have not been here in or several years years. The hotel has mostly stayed the same but lost some of its ocean view with construction. As a diamond member I was upgraded and given a very nice room. Breakfast buffet is excellent. One server I had several years ago (milena) recognized me , she remembered years ago I was a little sick and brought me hot water and lemon and said it was her mothers recipe ( and it worked) she is fantastic server very friendly and a great asset to hotel.
Only negative with this hotel are street is under construction and it is hard for taxi or uber to get it at times.
Bartenders at night Jorge and Colombian girl were great recommending drinks and having conversation
All and all very good stay. For the price it is fantastic. I will be back.
