The Westin Bora Bora is a must go-to destination on any bucket list travel get-away. The accommodations make for a perfect romantic evenings and mornings, riding bikes in the elevated walkways to jumping off your personal balcony into magnificent blue waters. Make sure to stop by the pool and bask in a bungalow. Make sure to have Alan spoil you by grabbing you an ice cream liquor drink from the beach bar with swings. He was awesome to us every day on our trip and a true reflection of the entire staff. If you are in need of a forced relaxing trip, lock yourself into The Westin Bora Bora for a week or two and you will create incredible memories along with long slow paced days of perfection. I wrote a review on the Westin Bora Bora earlier today with great praise on the beauty of the resort and especially the service. l highly recommend working with Loïc at the front desk and Alan at the pool. I had planned on adding Teamo into my review as well but needed to ask my husband how to spell his name. And now it won't let me edit! So my advice: spend tons of time at the pool and beach and let Teamo and Alan take care of you. I mentioned in my previous review that | was meh about the food. The food is delicious! I just wish that there had been more pescatarian options. My husband loved it all! It's still a new hotel and I know that they are adding more and more so I have no doubt that I will have even more options next year when we are back.

This is a brand new hotel and it’s lovely. As beautiful as it is, the service is what we appreciated most. We went in February for my birthday and spent a week in one of the overwater bungalows (highly recommend). We spent a lot of time at the pool and beach in addition to some activities that were recommended to us by the concierge. We had amazing service at the pool (there’s only one) each and every day. Alan took care of us the most although the other guys at the pool provided good service too. He kept our glasses full, our bellies full and was a lot of fun. He shared his knowledge about the island and recommended fun things for us to do. We will be going back next year and we will make sure he is working! My only “meh” feeling about the resort is regarding the food options. You’re basically stuck there and eating at the same couple places every day. I’m Pescatarian and I would have loved more options (particularly at the pool but Alan was able to speak to the chef on my behalf to switch some chicken dishes out for fish which I appreciated). We had so much fun!

The only thing I would change was the weather (we had 3 out of 5 days of events get cancelled due to weather) Highlights - Breakfast was always incredible - Mediterranean dinner at Maere (and in general the Maere staff, including Lenaic who was easily the most attentive and friendliest) - the massage at the spa was one of the best I’ve ever had - the overwater villa was easily the nicest room I’ve ever stayed in Lowlights - the wine tasting was a bit lackluster (we had to do it during one of the rain days). I recommend they add more wines to it and charge more so it’s more of a formal event - the rain :( we chose to go in rainy season which was our fault. However, the resort really relies on sunny days to entertain guests. I recommend a set of rainy day plans that include more events that can be done indoors

So friendly and helpful, they made our stay so enjoyable. I was worried about the food after reading some reviews but it was actually very good, we enjoyed all our meals. It is pricey but that’s to be expected. There are bikes to ride around the resort which is very helpful but there doesn’t seem to be that many of them. We enjoyed the gym and the turtle sanctuary as well

From the moment we arrived at the Bora Bora airport, we felt pampered. We were greeted by a hotel representative and given leis along with large, substantial tumblers with the Westin Bora Bora logo on them to use to carry water around for our trip. We were swept away on a boat to the resort, where we were given a personal tour. Before even heading to our room, we stopped at the concierge and learned that the (free) rum tasting was coming up, so we happily joined. It was here that we met Taki, who we got to know well and saw throughout the resort during our stay. Our stay was off to a very nice start! Our room and view were breathtaking. We were in Room 258, which I think has one of the best - if not *the* best - view of Mount Otemanu. My husband has status with Westin so we received a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and some snacks. We had a plunge pool which we used often. The plunge pool was cleaned every two days, which was nice. There is a magnifying mirror in the bathroom, which I appreciated. There was also a canvas bag with "West Bora Bora" on it to use at the pool and to keep. The bed was so comfortable, which is very important to us. We stayed at the resort for five nights and did not venture out for meals. The breakfast buffet was amazing and had a vast selection of almost anything you could want, including eggs cooked to order. Every meal we had at the resort was delicious. The only exception was the French restaurant - we found the food to be bland. Although the menu for the lunch and dinner at the main restaurant did not change, there was enough variety to keep us happy. Everything from sushi to steak. One evening, we split a Caesar salad (so good) and a pizza and it was simple but fantastic. We like the option of being able to have a more fancy meal, or a more casual meal. There are free bikes available to use around the resort, or you can hitch a ride from one of the golf carts. We spent a lot of our time at the pool. The resort was fairly empty in January, which was fine with us. There are cabanas around the pool that you can use for free on a first come, first serve basis. We brought pool floaties and although the pool guys would have blown them up for us, my husband was able to do it on his own. My husband did a diving trip one day and I went with him and snorkeled. It was arranged by the concierge. It was great! He saw a huge manta ray and some sharks. I also visited the turtle sanctuary at the resort, which is very special. What really made this resort special was the staff. Every single time we passed a staff member, they said "ia ora na" (hello). Everyone was so welcoming and many greeted us by name, which blew us away. From the time we arrived at the lobby to check in to the time we checked out, everyone went above and beyond and was so hospitable. We saw Taki numerous times, whether at lunch or dinner, and he would always ask if there was anything we needed and would make it happen. He is so personable and knowledgeable. One of the restaurant managers, Heilinare, would always greet us at breakfast with " Good morning, Mr. & Mrs. Mersereau," and remembered my daily wine order with lunch. Alan at the pool was so full of energy and constantly checked on us to see if there was anything we needed. We felt so special and pampered and thank each and every one of the staff members for a wonderful experience!

A couple of staff really stood out, Varu at the pool bar was great and Oriane at the spa was extreme knowledgeable and went out of her way to help. Really all of the staff was so nice and accommodating.

This resort is amazing!! We stayed 6 nights and had a wonderful time. We had a premium overwater bungalow with a pool. The room was spacious and very modern. It was great to have your own pool to cool off whenever you wanted. The glass bottom part of the room was our favorite. We could just watch fish for hours looking down. We saw turtles, sting rays and sharks, all from our room. Breakfast is very extensive and it never got old, even after 6 days. The staff was so warm and welcoming and everyone we encountered was cheerful. The service was slightly off a couple days, but the friendliness of the staff more than made up for it. The bikes are a nice option, because depending on where your room is it can be a very long walk. We never had a problem getting a bike. As another reviewer had mentioned they do allow day passes to the resort. We didn't find this to be a problem, because it was very low occupancy, so there was always plenty of room by the pool, beach or anywhere else. It never seemed crowded. My guess is if the hotel is at a higher occupancy, they will probably not allow day passes. We took the free boat shuttle to the main island one day and rented a car to explore. There is not much on the main island and the drive around the main island, made us appreciate staying at the Westin even more. If you do take the boat shuttle to the main island, just be aware you need to either arrange for a taxi in advance or arrange a rental car, as there is nothing near where the boat lets you off. My only suggestion to the hotel is to have a free shuttle to the neighboring St. Regis hotel a couple nights a week to allow guests to try the restaurants at the St. Regis.

We found our favorite Westin so far. The Westin Bora Bora is almost beyond words, but we will try. Our arrival consisted of a short boat right from the island’s mainland to the resort. You are greeted at the dock by a welcome committee, given a lei, serenaded by a ukulele player. A quick golf cart ride takes you to the open area reception area. (To call it a hotel lobby wouldn’t be fair.) You set down at a desk, are offered refreshments, and checked I quickly. Then it’s back to the golf, a quick property tour (it’s expansive) and off to the bungalow we go. The overwater bungalows were simply breathtaking. Waking up to the crystal-clear turquoise waters and watching the vibrant marine life swim beneath us through the glass-bottom floor was an unforgettable experience that felt like living in a dream. You can dive right in from there. The bungalows were incredibly luxurious and well-appointed, providing every comfort and amenity one could wish for. Each has a private seawater soaking poolwas the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun, offering stunning views of the ocean and Mount Otrmanu. The complimentary bikes provided a wonderful way to explore the island, allowing us to discover hidden and picturesque spots at our own pace. We were also fortunate to visit the on-site turtle sanctuary, which is educational. The sanctuary's commitment to protecting and rehabilitating these magnificent creatures was inspiring. We were there shortly after the resort had reopened after a two year renovation and rebranding. While still new, service seemed to be working. Most of the team were hospitable. The beach staff was incredible and attentive. The food was delicious, but we would have preferred more local options. Like many tourist areas in French Polynesia, the French influence of prevalent and often dominates. The breakfast options were diverse, and we ate right next to the lagoon. Overall, our stay at the Westin Bora Bora was absolutely magical. The combination of stunning natural beauty, luxurious accommodations created an experience that we will be etched in our memories. We highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a truly unforgettable vacation experience. It’s a destination that will leave you longing to return again.

I recently stayed at The Westin Bora Bora for 5 days to celebrate my 7th wedding anniversary. Seven years ago, I spent my honeymoon in French Polynesia, so returning to this paradise had high emotional and experiential expectations. While the hotel has great potential, I believe there are better options for such a special occasion, particularly due to the lack of privacy and the day use policy, which allows non-guests, including children, to access the property. Positives • The hotel features brand-new facilities with a modern design and fresh infrastructure. • Its prime location provides stunning views of Mont Otemanu, making it a postcard-perfect setting. • The staff is friendly, proactive, and efficient, creating a warm atmosphere despite the hotel being open for only 4 months. • Cleanliness was consistently good, from the rooms to the common areas. • The hotel management is open to feedback, which shows promise for future improvements. Negatives 1. Breakfast: • Breakfast lacked variety and didn’t meet the standards expected for a luxury resort. • Pre-made Eggs Benedict should be prepared fresh for guests. • Items like Nutella and coconut water were missing, and champagne was not included, which felt like an oversight for the level of service expected. 2. Restaurant Menu: • The restaurant menu was too limited, making meal choices repetitive during the stay. • I often had to settle for burgers, fries, or salads, even though I’m open to trying diverse and exotic foods. This was disappointing, especially compared to my previous culinary experiences at other French Polynesian resorts. 3. Pool Maintenance: • The saltwater pools had algae build-up at the bottom, creating an unpleasant look and feel. More frequent cleaning would greatly improve the experience. 4. Bikes: • Bikes distributed around the resort are not well-organized, and other guests frequently take them, even if you’ve left them outside your room. • Many bikes are rusty and poorly maintained, with loose rims and other issues. 5. Coral Garden: • The coral garden is still in development, so snorkeling is not as vibrant or complete as one might hope. 6. Room Details: • Small details were missing, such as bath salts for the tub, which are standard in many luxury resorts. • Access to sauna and hot tubs requires an additional fee, which felt unnecessary given the cost of staying at the hotel. 7. Privacy Concerns: • Even in privileged overwater bungalows, there is a lack of privacy, with kayaks and other guests passing by frequently. 8. Day Use for Non-Guests: • The hotel allows day use for non-guests, including families with children, which disrupts the exclusivity and serenity many seek in Bora Bora. This policy significantly detracts from the atmosphere and the premium experience expected. Final Thoughts While The Westin Bora Bora has immense potential, several aspects need improvement to meet the expectations of a luxury resort, especially for guests celebrating special occasions. The management’s openness to feedback is a positive sign for future development, but at this time, I believe there are better options for anniversaries or honeymoons in Bora Bora. For now, I would recommend a 3-day stay instead of 5, as the limited dining options and privacy issues can detract from the experience. Overall, it’s a good resort with a fantastic location and friendly staff but with room to grow. Overall rating: 4/5.

Stayed here the week before Christmas to celebrate my birthday. I took a chance and booked before there were any reviews and I was not disappointed. Before we even left, they emailed to find out if we were celebrating anything and get our flight details to pick us up from the airport by boat. They also take you back to the airport at the end of your trip. The boat has a wifi sticker but no wifi. Not a big deal though as it's a quick ride. The resort is stunning. We stayed in an OWB with plunge pool facing Mt Otemanu. It was a good enough size for two people and the view was to die for. Upon check-in, we were given a wristband to use as our room keys which I thought was just brilliant. We also got beautiful steel water bottles and a beach bag we could keep. I found all the staff here to be attentive and genuinely friendly. It felt like there was always someone checking in to see how we were doing and many of them actually learned our names pretty quickly. It gave it a nice personal touch. They left me a nice sweet treat for my birthday. We got the meal plan. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning. I'm picky but there was always something I liked available. As a seafood lover, I really got my fill of fresh sashimi and other delectable dishes at Tipanier. Polynesian night was a hit and I enjoyed dancing with the dancers. We ate at Varavara occasionally and enjoyed it's more relaxed fare. There is also a premium restaurant we didn't eat at because it's a set menu and I enjoy picking my dishes but I heard good things about it. My only feedback regarding meals would be to let people know that tap water is an option (we only found out on the last day) and also to offer a drinks package. We would have happily paid extra for one. They could offer a package with or without alcoholic beverages included. Also, we weren't made aware that the meal plan only included breakfast for one of your arrival or departure days but not both. It's on us a bit as we shouldn't have assumed but it would have been nice to know up front. Drinks at the beach bar (by the swings) were not the best but the drinks at the upstairs bar (OA?) more than made up for it. Some of the best cocktails I've had in a while. There were always resort bikes available when we needed them to get around the resort. In the evenings after dinner, we mostly chose to walk back to the bungalow for the exercise but the walk is really not that long. There was also no shortage of lounge chairs and it seemed like most of the time we wanted a cabana we were able to get one. Maybe it's because it's still so new, but I loved how the resort never felt overrun by people. The resort provides a shuttle a few times a day to the main island as part of the resort fee which also includes awesome activities such as wine and rum tasting, fitness classes and cultural activities. Brenda and Victoria who led some of the cultural activities were really sweet. I wish there was more of those sorts of activities, especially in the evenings when things get quiet and for rainy days (which we fortunately didn't have much of). I thought they should also spread out the fitness classes a bit. Instead of two in the morning, have one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Finally, the hydrofoil demonstration should not be listed as an activity, especially when they advertise activities as part of the resort fee. It's pretty much just watching a guy ride the bike for a few minutes but you pay extra if you want to do it so it's more of an advertisement than an activity. All in all, I was really happy with our stay. The amazing setting and staff really made our week memorable.

We had a short 2-night stay here between Christmas and New Year as part of a longer trip to French Polynesia. This was certainly the most expensive part of our itinerary, and the one we were looking forward to the most. But we also had modest expectations, knowing the Westin just opened. We paid for the half-board option (breakfast and dinner), more on that later. There was a little confusion on arrival at Bora Bora airport as Air Tahiti cancelled our original flight on the travel day and rebooked us on an earlier service. I thought I communicated this to the hotel through the app but am not sure the message went through. There wasn't a boat at the airport waiting for us. After we waited for all of the other resort boats to depart I figured I should call to inquire. They apologized profusely and sent a boat right away. Honestly, the view from the airport is outstanding, so we were happy to sit and wait. The transfer is one of the most memorable parts of the trip to Bora Bora. Jetting across the lagoon toward the hotels is really a special experience. We arrived and were checked in quickly. We were then led to our room, which was ready early for us. We immediately unpacked and jumped into the lagoon for a swim. What an experience! To walk out of your bungalow, amble down a few stairs and be in the warmth of the Bora Bora waters is not something you'll soon forget. We had dinner that night at the beach restaurant. We tried the poisson cru, sashimi and fresh catch (parrotfish that day). All of them were honestly above expectations. We particularly loved the hotel's version of sauce tahitienne that accompanied the sashimi. It was a nice dinner and had a good pace to it, we never waited long for service or meals. One thing we noted that night was the noise and vibration in the bungalows. We were located about mid-way on the path. It was a very convenient location, but any time someone walks by or a cart drives by, the entire structure moves a little. The carts sound a little like a train driving by. I had to use earplugs. It becomes less noticeable later at night when most people are settled. Breakfast in the buffet was good quality but not super extensive. They always had poisson cru and sashimi, which we definitely indulged in! Such a treat. We sat in the same section both days and enjoyed the service from Maimiti. She was so friendly and shared the recipe for sauce tahitienne with us; you'll have to book a stay and ask her yourself. Not sharing the secret! Our last dinner was also at the buffet. On Thursdays they apparently have a Polynesian buffet and show. As were on the half-board it was included for us. It also includes a welcome drink and bottled water (still or sparkling). The buffet was really quite good; four kinds of fresh fish grilled to order, plus a variety of other Polynesian hot dishes and cold seafood dishes. The quality again was quite good. A note, if you are avoiding seafood or meat, the dinner buffet is suitable for you, there are not many veggie options. You can dine elsewhere and come for the show when it starts at 7:30. The show was honestly a lot of fun and very interactive. It felt more intimate and personal than similar "luau" shows we've seen in Hawaii. We so enjoyed our stay here. It hit the right notes of great service, good quality food and relaxation. The property feels fresh and new. We paid for the half-board and on a shorter stay would definitely opt for it again. If we were staying longer than a few nights we'd probably go a la carte and maybe even try a dinner off the property. But if you do eat breakfast and dinner there it makes sense! Being French Polynesia, a lot of their menus revolve around seafood, so keep that in mind. If you're not a fan it may be better to order a la carte. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. It hits well above its class for a Westin, probably the single best Westin I've seen anywhere in the world. I cannot compare it to the Conrad, St. Regis or Four Seasons, but I do think this is a worthwhile option for Bora Bora.

We divided our week between the Westin and the 4 Seasons in Bora Bora, staying at each resort for 3 days from 11-29-24 to 12-6-24. These resorts are separated by only one other resort. We stayed in the Westin's largest, premium over the water bungalow (villa 2000) at a cost of $12,340.00 for just the room. The cost of meals and drinks are in addition thereto. The Westin has been open for just 3 months, so I understand the resort will need to work out the "being new glitches." However, my expectation is that if you open up before these glitches are resolved, you should be prepared to discount the final bill to accommodate for these issues, which the Westin did NOT do. Here are the issues we experienced. 1. Electricity issues. Irrespective of my utilizing the correct converter, the breakers flipped, fried, and destroyed my $250.00 US hair straightener. The resort purchased a $60.00 french plug-in replacement for me to take home to the US. When I pointed out this resulted in my returning with a $190.00 reduced valued straightener with a foreign plug-in, Ines Mazade at the resort responded "Regarding your hair straightener issue, I understood when we talked on the phone, that you just wanted a hair straightener to replace the one that broke, no matter the brand. We were able to find a hair straightener on the main island, but unfortunately the island of Bora Bora does not propose a large range of brands, which is why we offered you the Babyliss one." 2. Our private bungalow pool was NOT heated (4 Seasons pools are heated), so it is absolutely freezing. Presumably, because the Westin pumps in sea water (4 Seasons utilizes fresh water). Our Westin private pool was seething with organisms. We reported this, the resort sent in maintenance for several hours and we were then stuck out of our room during their "cleaning". They cleaned, drained and refilled, unfortunately the same organisms were present. Therefore we couldn't utilize the pool once, whereas we used it every day multiple times at the 4 Seasons. The large pool associated with this particular bungalow is why we chose villa 2000. This Trip Advisor site does not allow videos, but our video shows hundred of swimming organisms, a still photo of the video is attached. 3. On the third day at 6am the plumbing backed up for the entire bungalow, toilets overflowed, sinks would not drain and the shower flooded. Ines Mazade at the resort responded when I brought this to his attention "we had a general plumbing issue that was rapidly solved." It was in fact resolved by 11am. The fact that the Westin believes 3 days of the foregoing warranted a room cost alone of $12,340.00 was unbelievable to me. Ines Mazade at the resort in response to my request that the Westin reduce the cost of the bungalow due to the foregoing wrote "I understand this is not to be expected and I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. To compensate for this, we kindly offer 40 000 points." 40,000 Marriott points is the equivalent of half the cost of a one night stay at a very basic airport hotel. That "offer" was even more insulting than charging $12,340.00 for three nights in a bungalow with electrical and plumbing problems coupled with a freezing pool seething with organisms. On another note, the staff was amazingly kind and attentive. The resort is beautiful, and the nature made scenery was breathtaking.

The good: -The room we got (via Nightly Upgrade Award with Marriott status) was impressive. The view was truly unbearable. -The beach/pool area is a paradise -Lots of the Westin associates are very eager to help and assist. -The breakfast restaurant as well as the beach restaurant is beautiful The not-so-good: -the 3pm classes (that are paid for through mandatory destination fee) are disappointing. Poorly organized and the experience of the "class" is not that good. Management should try attending each one of them and ask themselves, "would I pay money for this experience?" The water bike demonstration should be removed from the "amenities." Why the f am I paying a fee to watch an upsell demonstration without a chance to even try the bike? -the food. I understand the logistics of shipping make everything expensive, but the food that we had wasn't great. Not just in flavor, but the execution as well. Medium rare steak came out overcooked. The remake was blue rare. I felt uncomfortable to send it back again so I didn't. Fries were cold (the kitchen is out in the open, but perhaps they could've covered the dish on the tray). The chicken bowl was nasty. Cold, lumpy rice. Ritz Carlton Maldives had similar pricing for their food but most of the food offerings were amazing. We met a couple on an excursion who were staying at the Four Seasons Bora Bora, and they said the food was bad across the bay as well. So I suppose it's not just the Westin. -Communication. A family member found cockroach in her over the water villa. I suppose pests are hard to control, but their response was "ok, we'll let our manager know." No followup. Another night, we wanted to see if there were any games to rent. They said they'd get back to us, but they didn't. I also was wondering about the Bonvoy points calculation (gave me fewer points than what I was supposed to earn), so I emailed them a question. No response. Maybe the associates are spread thin? Perhaps having an assigned butler like the St. Regis would encourage the associates to take ownership in addressing any questions/issues, but that wasn't our experience at the Westin. I also didn't see anyone who looked like the general manager of the property walking around and interacting with guests. If this were some 3 star rundown Westin in some US city, I wouldn't be bothered. But I did go with high level of expectations, so these negatives did detract a bit.

The Westin, Bora Bora was a wonderful, upbeat experience. The hotel is almost brand new and the atmosphere was really great. The dining options and activity options were perfect - there’s something for everyone. The happy hour highlighting cocktails with local ingredients, the rum tasting , the paddle boards, canoes, bikes, etc - all of that made our stay active , fun and exciting! In addition the water bottles were a great idea as we stayed hydrated and now have souvenirs. Gaeran at check in and Miranda who picked us up from the airport were both great! Made us feel welcomed and appreciated! Thiery, Teamo, Taki and John at the pool bar were quick, efficient and anticipated our needs each time they saw us. Kehauni at the sunset bar was very pleasant. Moeata at Varavara made our dinners fun, recommended the best dishes, the best wine pairing and was just exceptional each time she served us. The breakfast buffet had a great selection of locally sourced dishes and the morning crew of Heitiare, Justine, Maimiti and Ioana, made the start of each day begin with a smile. We stayed at an overwater villa that had a pool and a spectacular view of Mount Otemanu; we truly enjoyed every moment of it. The villa was so spacious, beautiful and clean. The water was turquoise, reef sharks, turtles and coral fish everywhere - gelt like paradise. Finally, Loic at check out, with bellman Teuira and Theo sent us off on 2 way to the St Regis next door. We really enjoyed ourselves at the Westin and yo everyone there - Mauruuru!

We also want to give special recognition to Alan, our pool service attendant, who made our stay incredibly personal and enjoyable. My wife and I shared part of our honeymoon at the Westin Bora Bora Resort and what an amazing experience. If you are looking for a luxury location in paradise please consider staying here. The resort is in the most beautiful place on Earth. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room was an overwater villa looking at the beautiful Mount Otemanu with beautiful glass paneling on the floor to look at all the fish! The food at the resort was amazing and we dined at all the restaurants including Maere which did not disappoint. The activities are incredible with snorkeling, paddle boarding and jet ski's which made for an amazing afternoon of exploring the beauty of Bora Bora. We want to thank all the staff at the resort who made our honeymoon so very special and we look forward to returning to paradise one day soon

The newly renovated Westin Bora Bora is undeniably stunning. The property feels fresh and modern, with breathtaking views of Mt. Otemanu that make every photo look postcard perfect. The overwater bungalows are beautifully updated, offering direct access to the lagoon - an absolute dream for swimming right from your deck. That said, while the physical setting is five star, the service doesn’t quite match. Communication can be inconsistent, and the staff, while polite, don’t seem empowered to go above and beyond. If you’re visiting for a special occasion or expecting personalized touches, you may be disappointed. We stayed at the resort to celebrate my 40th birthday. The resort doesn’t make much effort to acknowledge celebrations or deliver that extra level of care you might expect in Bora Bora. We had dinner at Varavara. The food was good, though not particularly memorable. At dinner, we mentioned that it was my birthday and the servers did deliver a small bowl of ice cream and sang, which was much appreciated. It would have been a nice touch if my birthday had been acknowledged without us having to mention it, especially since the resort had asked beforehand if we were celebrating a special occasion. As a Marriott Platinum member, we received complimentary breakfast, though our nightly upgrade awards didn’t clear before arrival and there were no complimentary upgrades available at check-in. For our final night, we opted to pay for an upgrade to a two-bedroom villa, which offered a stunning view of Mt. Otemanu. The villa as amazing and was one of the highlights of our stay. Having stayed at the St. Regis Bora Bora and the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort Thalasso Spa, these resorts might be a better choice for more personalized and attentive service. The Westin Bora Bora is ideal for travelers who value scenery and comfort over attentive service.

It truly feels luxurious -has nice little amenities like bluetooth speaker inside the room that can be played inside or outside. -super nice breakfast buffet with a ton of variety -delicious dinner restaurants! I had the vegetarian menu at Maere and it was really good. -really enjoyed the free events and amenities. Paddleboarding was fun and the flower/lei making class was great as was the wine tasting and tahitian dance class. Those felt like really nice perks and ways to break up the day while relaxing Cons: -i thought i had seen some reviews that if you brought innertubes the pool boys would blow them up for you. Not true they just handed us a totally ineffectual hand pump that we had to discard and huff and puff. Maybe the westin can invest in a real electric pump for guests for the future? That would have been a really nice perk! -not good snorkeling onsite. Definitely don’t expect coral around the resort. The onsite channel where the turtle swims has the best fish and you can see them from above -often out of food items, such as the mushroom pizza and the oreo shake (the oreo shake i tried to order on the 3 separate days and never got to try it lol) Tips: take the half day lagoon cruise. Great experience we had a blast and saw the most amazing things, crazy coral at the coral gardens and fish and seahorses and sharks and rays at the other stops. You don’t need more than a half day, that’s plenty. Buy the sunscreen. They offer free sunscreen by the pool but it was super hard to rub in and i got burnt more easily than a regular sunscreen Also if you have an overwater bungalow definitely spend at least one night ordering room service on your deck and watching the stars. It’s magical! Another tip: bring some wine with you to drink on your balcony and cut costs. We picked up several bottles at a grocery store in tahiti. The resort is totally isolated in bora bora so you will not have any stores unless you take a boatride to the mainland. Also recommend doing sunset drinks before dinner at their rooftop bar. Get there a little early to get a seat/view/drink because it can get busy! And the HH drinks there are like $20 compared to the regular $30. The giftshop onsite offers a few basic items in addition to souvenirs like sunscreen and chips. If you want to buy a tahitian pearl you will need to go elsewhere. Giftshop has like 3 options. We got one at our first stop in moorea at the sofitel in their onsite jeweler and are really glad we did it then or there wouldnt have been an opportunity outside of doing a shopping excursion to the mainland

This resort is beautiful, it is very new so everything is in good condition. Almost everyone has an over-water bungalow which is the best part of the resort. There are lounge chairs and a table on the bungalow deck so you can eat or relax privately while looking at the water. Some rooms have a view of the mountain, ours did not but the view was still beautiful and we could see a nice sun-rise. The pool is warm, has a swim-up bar, and a beautiful view of the mountain. The food is mediocre and overpriced. I would suggest to bring wine (or whatever you drink) and snacks to enjoy at your bungalow. These can be purchased at Tahiti airport or on the main island. The main island is difficult to get to just for shopping as the boat only runs a few times day. the staff is really friendly, they always say hi when you pass them and claim to do whatever it takes. You can pick up the phone in your room and some one will be very friendly. However, we found that about half the time, they wouldn't do what they said they were going to do. Our bungalow was pretty far out so we couldn't exactly drop by the front desk if we needed something in our room. Most problems were solved by the 3rd call, but that seems like a lot. There isn't really off-shore snorkeling at the resort. A few rays swim by, but no coral and very few pretty fish. The staff discourages guests from eating dinner on the main island, however, you can get a much better meal there. The resort charges $35 per person to take the boat to the main island for dinner, but I think it is free earlier in the day. They try to discourage you from going to the main island in general unless you are on an excursion booked through them. It felt like they were more concerned with us spending our money at the resort than having the best possible experience . We booked the pure snorkeling activity through them and it was excellent, the highlight of our stay.

Arriving into the Bora Bora airport, we were greeted by resort staff offering a beautiful smelling lei. Getting on the Westin boat was easy, the trip to the resort was only around 15-20 min. We arrived at the resort dock to the wonderful sounds of a man playing a ukulele. Since you are typically arriving early, we only had to wait an hour or so before our bungalow was ready. We used that time to visit with the concierge to learn about the activities and restaurants. When our room was ready, we were whisked away in a golf cart to our bungalow where our luggage was already waiting for us. We were in awe when we opened the door to our bungalow. We had a large bathroom with mirrors that slid open to give you a full view of your room looking out into the lagoon. We had a separate room for our luggage to spread out our clothes. The couch and sitting area was great in the evenings where we drank wine and read until we couldn't keep our eyes open. We brought a small speaker to have music, but it was not needed. The bungalows have two bluetooth speakers to connect. We spent every morning having coffee (machine and endless coffee pods provided) on our dock watching the sun rise over the lagoon. The plunge pool was a great amenity that we used every day when we got too warm and needed to cool off. We also just jumped off our dock and into the lagoon. A nice touch was a shower on our dock to rinse off. We got the breakfast and dinner meal package. We typically had a late breakfast at the buffet at Tipanier, and that was plenty to get us through to dinner. Varavara was our go to for dinner. They had a menu change while we were there and knocked it out of the park. Maere is their upscale fixed menu restaurant. We ate there twice during our 2 week stay. The menu rotates every day and they serve you a lot of food. This was the first vacation that we decided to keep up our fitness routine. The resort gym has all you need to get a good workout. Treadmills, stair climber, rowing machines and a few pieces of lifting equipment with dumbbells that went up to 22 kg. The resort also has bicycles that are parked all over. Don't be surprised if you find a bike, ride it and then park it and its gone when you come back. We also decided to walk every other day on the docks. If you walk all the docks around the main resort it is approx 2.3 miles. The pool and swim up pool bar are fantastic. We didn't spend a lot of time here because we spent most of our time on our bungalow dock. The resort does have free use of paddle boards and kayaks, which we took advantage of a couple days. They also have snorkeling equipment. We splurged on a couples massage at the spa. I received an email while there about a discount and we took advantage. Very, very nice. On site, they have a turtle sanctuary. There were 3 turtles there getting nursed back to health before getting released back into the wild. Attire: I wore nice shorts and button down short sleeve shirts with shoes or nice sandals to every dinner. My wife wore Athleta type dresses. Other than that, we were in sandals and swimwear. When it was time to go, the check out was very easy and out to the dock we went to ride back to the airport. Special thanks to Sarah at Varavara along with Ani. Maxime was great along with Lucile.

We spent 4 night at the Westin in Bora Bora as part of our honey moon trip. We can’t say but positive words about our stay here: the place and atmosphere are idyllic and the staff is exceptionally profesional. We would like to commend Mirabelle in particular, who has served us during our dinners at Tipanier restaurant with an extraordinary level of kindness and attention to the smallest detail to ensure we were completely at ease. So thanks to the whole staff for making us feel such a great time during our honey moon, we wish we will ever have the opportunity to come back again in the future.

My wife and I arrived at the Westin Bora Bora on 9-12-25 to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. We were greeted at Papeete Airport by Westin staff and promptly boarded onto a boat for the resort. The check-in process was efficient and we enjoyed the pool until our room was ready. Blandine from Guest Services was amazing. We met her at the dock when we arrived and she gave us a tour of the premises. She was attentive to our questions and gave us a great deal of information pertaining to the property as well as the island. Throughout our seven day stay, we saw Blandine at various locations at the Westin, she was always smiling, friendly and asking us if we needed anything. Her customer service was top notch. Our over water bungalow was more than could be expected. We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne along with some snacks provided by guest services. There were beautiful flowers throughout the room and bed. The view was breathtaking and truly a sight to see. The only area for improvement was the bathroom vanity lighting was too dim for makeup and the sliding door lock did not work consistently. The pool bar included a swim up area for drinks and food. During our weeklong stay I was very impressed by pool bar staff ,Jasmina, Alan, Teamo & Tiere for their attentiveness, personality and welcoming persona. We spent a great deal of time at the pool and enjoyed many cocktails and some pizzas and hamburgers. My only suggestion is to play music consistently for ambiance. A good music selection played throughout the day would be awesome. We had the breakfast buffet every morning at the Tipanier. Upon being seated you are able to order an omelet or fried eggs from your server before embarking onto the buffet. The buffet was decadent with pastries, breads, cheeses, deli meats, bacon, sausages, potatoes, French toast, pancakes , assorted juices and too many more to list. Breakfast was by far our best meal every day! Throughout our stay we had dinner once at Tipanier, four times at Vara Vara and room service twice. I read a lot of reviews leading up to our trip indicating the food could be better. At the Tipanier, the Mahi Mahi was bland and too soggyt and the tenderloin had no flavor. After our first meal at the Tipanier we canceled additional reservations. Of the four nights we ate at Vara Vara they did not have short ribs on three nights. On our anniversary night the two entrees we wanted off the menu were not available( short ribs and swordfish) which was disappointing. Their ribeye steak was great also the hamburgers and pizzas. I would like to see other potato options instead French fries especially when having a nice steak dinner. I’d also recommend they dim their lights during dinner service they were too bright taking away from ambiance. We had two great servers which were Mary Vonne and Raina. Both were attentive and friendly and gave us suggestions for meals. Tevaiarii Vane also seated us twice at Vara Vara and remembered our names and where we were from. In my opinion, the food definitely needs improvement. I was expecting to have some flavorful fish options and maybe some sushi and instead had pizza and hamburgers three times. Pizza and hamburgers should not be the best options on a fine dining menu. We had the breakfast buffet every morning at the Tipanier. Upon being seated you are able to order an omelet or fried egg from your server before embarking onto the buffet. The buffet was decadent with pastries, breads, cheeses, deli meats, bacon, sausages, potatoes, French toast, pancakes , assorted juices and too many more to list. Breakfast was by far our best meal every day! We enjoyed using the fitness center and had wonderful massages from Lisa and Terava at the spa. Another plus was the free usage of paddle boards and kayaks along with readily available bicycle to use daily. The checkout process was great. We had our luggage picked up thirty minutes before checkout and a boat waiting to take us to the airport. In closing the Westin Bora Bora is a beautiful destination with great facilities and amazing customer service.

My husband and I stayed at the Westin Bora Bora for 8 nights in September of 2025. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was absolutely amazing and unforgettable. The views were spectacular and the room was amazing. 'O'A Bar especially stands out as one of our favorites. Not only are the views and drinks amazing, the staff particularly stands out. The bar manager Quentin and bartender Nuiti took amazing care of us and always made sure we had the best time. Our favorite restaurant while there had to be Varavara, primarily because of Sarah. If you know you know, no notes :) She's the best. She even went out of her way to come find us at the departure boat to say goodbye as we were leaving. We went twice to their fine dining restaurant, Maere (different menu every night) and were not disappointed. Lenaic, Florence and Mario deserve immediate raises and praise for going above and beyond. During our stay we also visited the spa, went on jet skis, enjoyed a poolside cabana and checked out the turtle sanctuary. All of which we recommend and were amazing.

This is a gorgeous, new resort. Period! We relaxed for 6 days here in Bora Bora and loved every minute of it. At the Westin, we tried every restaurant and room service. The pool service was high energy and enjoyable thanks to John! The breakfast buffet is very good and worth it! The Polynesian show dinner was super fun and educational! MAERE food was delicious and we had a wonderful meal. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed a shark/ray/coral garden lagoon trip, the Bora Bora Pearl Farm and the Eco Center and we never got bored. Some people complain about snorkeling!! They are haters! Wow…go in between the two private islands near the spa and it’s a beautiful massive coral garden!! Just wear sandals bc of urchins. And do not kick the corals. We swam everyday from the bunglalow and explored around snorkeling. Directly around the resort still has tropical fish, eagle ray, sting ray and we saw 4 reef sharks! You just have to swim/board/kayak around. If people get bored in Bora Bora, I recommend they just go home and leave it for the rest of us to fall in love with. You’ll get a resort trip but there’s plenty of options to take a trip or go to the main island. If you’re looking for even more adventure and less people, we came from Huahine and Moorea. My fiancée and I got engaged during our stay at the Westin Bora Bora and although the resort was beautiful we were not super impressed with the service. Although most folks were friendly, the service sometimes felt disorganized, slow, and inconsistent EXCEPT the outstanding service provided by Teamo, Alan, and Blandine! The resort has an incredible hard product—the newly renovated overwater bungalows are modern, spacious, and beautifully designed with breathtaking lagoon views. The property’s amenities are top-notch, from the stunning infinity pool to the serene spa and exceptional restaurants offering world-class cuisine. The staff members. Teamo and Alan, the pool attendants, were absolutely phenomenal—attentive, friendly, and always one step ahead of our needs. They went above and beyond to make every poolside moment perfect. Blandine greeted us warmly upon arrival, setting the tone for our trip. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the property, answering every question with professionalism and genuine enthusiasm. Unfortunately, our experience with the concierge, particularly Zoe, was disappointing. She was rude, dismissive, and seemingly uninterested in assisting guests. Every request was met with eye-rolling and reluctance to help. On our last day we had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager, Cesar. He happened to be walking by as we requested space to change and took matters into his own hands to personally escort us to a villa to change. He’s extremely experienced, professional, and generous. Lastly, as a Platinum Elite member within Marriott Bonvoy, I reached out multiple times requesting any kind of upgrade (I’m well aware it’s based on availability) and mentioned that I was planning to propose to my partner during our stay. We were not given any kind of upgrade or any complimentary gifts celebrating our engagement. When we arrived early in the morning at 10:00am, our standard room wasn’t available until 4:30pm (past the guaranteed check in time). Overall, it’s a beautiful resort. But, outside of the pool area, everything seemed disorganized from daily activities, restaurant staff, and concierge. Thank you to Teamo, Alan, and Blandine for representing the Westin brand correctly! You made our stay worthwhile and unforgettable. PS: The Eco Center is separate from the Westin and is funded by the proceeds of merchandise purchases and educational classes. Alex and Poerani are two of the amazing staff we met. Their passion is contagious and knowledge of aquatic life in Bora Bora amazed us.

Just stayed 4 nights in October with 2 other couples and this is by far the best resort on Bora Bora right now when it comes to the updated rooms and resort overall. The others may have some advantages when it comes to customer service and all that but those are definitely dated in their rooms and decor and in need on an update. Having been open only a year or so now, the Westin is a true gem. No reason not to get an overwater bungalow here and there are many choices. Pro-tip...we ended up getting the larger room with a Lagoon view and the others we traveled with chose the smaller room but with the Mt. Otemanu view. In hingsight, I would have done the same. Now, of course, you can do both if you want to spend the extra cash and should if you can. But, either way, the rooms are just bright and gorgeous. Restaurants are very good and the polynesian show was your typical ones with a good buffet. For Maere, keep in mind that is it a price fix menu which changes everyday so if you're picking about your food then check in advance about which menu they are serving...and you definitely need reservations as it is a smaller venue. Never had a problem getting chairs at the pool or beach as it seemed it was just never too crowded which was nice. Another pro-tip...if you want one of the six private cabanas around the pool, they are no-charge but also first-come first-served so get up early and secure one...but don't leave for more than 45 minutes or they will pick up your stuff and move it out. Like other reviews, not much snorkeling here to do becaue there isn't much to see...leave that for any excursions that you will do. Overall, very pleased with our choice here at the Westin and you will be also.

The staff is very kind. Marvin welcame us top friendly and professional. However, an unpleasant experience at restaurant Varavara, the waiterBaptiste took our order with a rude manner. Too bad !

We had an incredible stay at the Westin Bora Bora for our honeymoon. The resort is gorgeous. Newly renovated so everything is very clean, well take care of, and grounds are beautifully maintained. Our overwater bungalow with its own pool offered amazing views of the main island. Bikes are everywhere so you can just grab and go which made the trips to and from the room a lot more fun. All the staff was extremely friendly and made us feel welcomed the entire trip. But honestly, what really made the trip special were the pool guys. Alan, John, and Teamo deserve all the credit in the world. They were unbelievably attentive and just genuinely great guys to be around. They always had drinks ready, helped us get cabanas without us even asking (first come availability so hard to get one if you're not an early riser), and were always down for good conversation. They gave us great recommendations on restaurants, sight seeing, excursions, around Bora Bora and even the neighboring islands. They made us feel taken care of the entire time and added a personal touch that you don’t get everywhere. We left feeling like we’d made friends, and would go back in a heartbeat just to hang out with theme again haha. Between the beautiful resort and the standout service from these three, our trip ended up being even better than we expected. 10/10 would recommend staying here.
