We had a wonderful experience at the Conrad bora bora. From the second we arrived at rbe airport the staff was there to greet us with Lei’s and escorted us to the boat for transfer to the hotel. When we arrived the staff was waiting on the dock to greet and welcome us to the resort. Check in was seamless and we received a tour of the property. The hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views everywhere you look. We booked a standard room with Hilton points and as gold members received a complimentary upgrade to an over water bungalow villa. We really enjoyed the sea life and found the snorkeling here better than the previous resort we stayed at. The breakfast buffet was spectacular along with the sushi at Upa Upa. The staff do a wonderful job trying to make your experience flawless. Overall a 10/10 pure luxurious stay and would definitely return! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The hotel is in a picturesque location! It was very slow when we were there, so we got upgraded to an overwater villa prior to arrival. I was impressed by the amount of coral and fish right off the beach. It was great for snorkeling. This really is a place to relax. There is no night life and only 3 TV channels are in English (BBC News, CNN, and an Australian channel). It would’ve been great to have the ability to access our streaming services (Netflix) on the TV or screen share from an iPhone in the evenings. The breakfast buffet was great, with plenty of non-breakfast dishes (fried rice, pork stew). The pastries were fantastic! There were always plenty of lounge chairs by the pool and beach available. The only thing that disappointed me about the villa is that the AC could not cool the room to less than 23 C. I prefer a cooler room for sleeping.

After seeing so many videos and reviews about Bora Bora, I finally got to experience first-hand the dream that is Bora Bora. I had the opportunity to stay at Conrad Bora Bora for 6 nights and it did not disappoint! Traveling to Bora Bora is relatively easy from the US (compared to Maldives). It’s about 8 hour flight from West Coast and then 45 minutes inter-island flight from PPT-BOB. Once you land on BOB, a hotel representative will meet you at baggage claim and assist you with luggage and transportation. Keep in my transportation from BOB to the Conrad is by boat, shared with other Conrad guests from the same flight, and takes about 20 minutes. On arrival to the resort, you will be greeted by your dedicated butler who will assist with check-in and tour of the resort. They will also be reachable by text/WhatsApp during your stay. Our primary butler was Rian (or maybe Dian…sorry!) and she was fantastic. Extremely attentive and regularly checks in via Whatspp. Food: I had diamond status so breakfast buffet was included for 2. Breakfast had a spread of Asian, Western, and local food. They also had large spread of pastry (it is French territory after all) and a live crepe station. I also dined at the French restaurant one night, tamure grill one lunch, and Polynesian Buffett show one night. Cost is what you would expect for an isolated island. Nothing wrong with the food but it was definitely the weakest part of the resort though I heard that’s just all of French Polynesia so who knows. Room: booked 6 nights in the cheapest room and was upgraded to overwater bungalow. I believe February is low season so I’m sure that helps. Room has everything you would need but of course, highlight is the corals right underneath. My room was right above their human-made coral garden so you bet I snorkeled everyday. You can borrow snorkel gear for free at the beach. Best place to snorkel, in my opinion, is around room 201. I heard the presidential suite area had good corals also but I never needed since it was so good underneath my room already. I could go on and on about the resort and Bora Bora but I don’t want to bore you. Just know the destination is everything you see on social media and more!

I'm not an avid reviewer but feel I'd be remiss if I didn't share my experience (and that of other couples on the same trip) and let others know what they're signing up for. I don't mind paying five-star prices, but I do expect in return five-star service and quality... I'm also based in LA and NYC, so I'm not a stranger to it. You expect in Bora Bora, so they're going to stick it to you a little bit, but they take it to another level that verges on being obnoxious or passive-aggressive towards visitors. An example: $35 for 3 sad-looking scallops. There's some very likable staff here, but there's seemingly no experienced management, so the resort is somewhat left to the forces of nature; people are left to figure it out, so it's gone a little feral/rough around the edges. Service/hospitality training is needed. This includes both administration, servers, and even the masseuse (that didn't feel like a professional massage). My deluxe over-water bungalow had holes in the curtains, the outdoor furniture was beat up and rusting. Or, you'd use the bar's bathroom—one is blocked, the other undergoing work, and one occupied. At breakfast, there's cheap furniture. The relatively nice table is covered in an old warped brown plastic cover. Felt a bit ironic when they say, "Welcome to Paradise.". (Context: I paid over $20k for accommodation for a 9-night stay for a couple.). Due to flight timing, many arrive earlier, hot and bothered after a long trip... to NO AIR CONDITIONING IN COMMON AREAS and very few fans (but air conditioning is conveniently in the staff admin office and indoors at the Chinese restaurant). Also, for these arrivals, breakfast has ended, and there are no other dining options until lunch. "Welcome to Paradise.". Hard to savor dining when you're fighting humidity. There's not really any beach service to speak of. Or you'll be waiting a LONG TIME. Beware: if you don't make a restaurant reservation in advance, you may be stuck... They don't have enough to cater to capacity. The food is extremely slow. Beware: Our trip coincided with New Year's Eve. We were NOT informed in advance that all dining options would be closed except for a buffet option costing approx. $800 for 2 (not including drinks) and that it was MANDATORY—meaning we'd be charged regardless of attendance. Unethical. "Welcome to Paradise.". They couldn't point to any advertised material or communications that stated this. I felt bad that I'd invited friends to join us who'd previously experienced the St. Regis. We will always make the best of an experience. It's wonderful to hire a boat for half a day, do the picnic, and swim with amazing fish. Go to a cool, obscure restaurant on a mountaintop for real food and service. There are a lot of amazing places in the world, and Bora Bora needs to step it up and can't rest on its laurels, or people won't return. It will get left behind. There's a lot of competition. Probably, next time, when I'm looking for a beach getaway, I'll hit something like the One and Only Mandarina in Mexico for luxury pampering and clear waters. If you're looking for a couple's luxury, go to the Regis or Four Seasons. This place will not compare. If you've got a tribe with kids and get a great deal on this place, this might be an option for you. Only come here if you get a bargain, not if paying 5-star prices.

A special shout-out to Daven, the breakfast staff, the pool staff, and Stefany, our housekeeper. But overall, we always feel welcomed by all of the employees there! The Conrad is the best location in Bora Bora in our opinion. We love the views, and we have experienced several different villa types. You can’t go wrong with the Conrad and we will definitely keep coming back!

A beautiful tropical setting, but certain aspects of the experience fell short of our expectations. Negatives: - Wi-Fi connection was very weak in key areas like the central lunch bar, beach, and lobby, which was inconvenient. - Service was consistently slow, with long waits to be seated for meals or to place orders at every dining venue. - There were no tennis facilities (due to renovations) and no ping pong or billiards available during our stay (Dec 30 - Jan 3) without clear justification. - After 9:30 pm, there were limited options for entertainment, and there was no dedicated area to enjoy an aperitif or a drink. - While we dined at all the hotel’s restaurants, the high prices were not justified by the quality or value offered. Positives: - The tropical villa with a private pool we opted for was stunning and well-maintained. - Both the rooms and common areas were impeccably clean. - The availability of snorkeling equipment and complimentary sunscreen at the activities desk was a thoughtful touch. - Some team members at the reception, particularly Esmeralda, stood out for their excellent support with activity reservations. Hope these comments help manage expectations and further enhance the service.

Wouldn’t hear back, didn’t answer questions, etc.Upon arrival the confusion continued at check in with multiple staff uncertain, etc about everything. We had requested a central location so I could easily get around following a knee surgery. But no, we were driven way out and needed to rely on a cart. The deck was unsafe…no railing down to deck and couldn’t access ocean. We checked out next morning. Not sure what is going on. Sorry to visit in its current state.

I emailed with the concierge a number of times prior to arriving in French Polynesia. I was assured that they we had a reservation for the shuttle to the hotel from the wharf in town and that the boat was always at a particular dock at that time and we would know which boat it was when we saw it (no description given). We didn't see the boat and asked several people there about it and they said that this is where it always docked. We finally found someone who actually knew how to get in touch with the hotel and they called for us and told us they would help us find the boat when it got there. The boat did not dock where we were told it would be. Because the hotel never tried to contact us, I would give them a zero for communication and customer service. We decided to have dinner at the sushi/bar. There were several sofas available with tables, but instead of trying to seat us at one of those, they insisted on seating us at a chair similar to a bean bag but worse. I told them I didn't think that would work and I wouldn't be able to get up from it. They insisted that was where we had to sit since the restaurant seating area was full at the time. We couldn't reach the table from those seats and I couldn't get up; a gentleman at the next table had to help both my husband and myself up. About that time a table opened up at the restaurant area. They just didn't consider their customers at all when seating us so I would give them a zero for their customer service. The person who checked us out all but yelled at me when I complained about the shuttle service. Again, not customer friendly in the least. The cleaning person showed up twice before checkout time to find out when we were going to leave because they wanted to get ready for the next customer. Again, a total lack of customer service. The only nice workers were the ones driving the carts. The hotel itself is gorgeous. We had a unit with a view of nothing but water and the island across from us. It was very nice.

From the moment we arrived at the airport and were whisked away on the Conrads dedicated boat, we were captured by the beautiful blue waters surrounding the islands. We were met at the dock, where our luggage was taken care of and escorted to the checkin waiting area where we were offered refresher towels and a cold beverage. Our personal Concierge Daniel then checked us in and went over all the details of the resort and asked if we wanted to book any tours or make any reservations for dinners, all of which he took care of. We were a little early, so our room wasn't quite ready, but that gave us time for a lovely lunch by the pool. When the villa was ready, Daniel personally escorte1d us, and our luggage awaited. This whole experience made us feel very special and welcomed. The villa itself was amazing, only a few steps from the beach, close to the main restaurants and came with its own sun deck and plunge pool. It was spacious and well set out. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We had made a reservation for the Friday night dinner and cultural show when we booked our stay, and this didn't disappoint. Front row seats and great food. The free buffet breakfast also included some extra choices outside the norm, but the buffet choice was extensive. The restaurant choices were great, and we didn't have a disappointing meal during our stay. Snorkelling can be done directly from the beach with man made reef structures luring in the tropical fish. There were also paddle boards and canoes available free of charge. The on-site spa is a must experience, and all in all, Conrads Bora Bora is highly recommended for a stay that truly makes you feel like royalty.

After much research, I booked 5 nights at the Conrad Bora Bora for my 40th wedding anniversary 9 months in advance. I reserved an Overwater Villa hoping to obtain a beautiful view of the ocean. When I arrived I was assigned Villa 339 which has a view of a concrete wall that I'm providing. Workers were at the wall working every day cutting steel rods and making a lot of noise with other construction activities. It is absolutely the worst room in the entire resort as every other Villa has a view of the ocean. I'm a Diamond member and was not offered an upgrade at all. Antoni the smug host who escorted me to my Villa knew that I was getting the worst room yet he didn't seem to care even after I said it was unacceptable. I texted the front desk several times and nobody every responded and I never heard from Antoni again after he dumped me off. If I hadn't prepaid, I would have left the resort immediately. I experienced very poor service at all the restaurants. In all cases when I approached the reception area, the hostess made us wait 5-7 minutes while they chatted with staff. They could see us but didn't care to give us any acknowledgment. All the servers seemed to be unhappy and very few smiled. The food is expensive and the quality was subpar. This is not a 5 star resort. There are much better resorts on Bora Bora. If you get assigned Overwater Villas 339 -342, you will be very disappointed as I was during my stay as they share the same awful view. The Conrad ruined my anniversary trip. My only positive comment is that the employees who shuttled guests around in golf carts provided exceptional service and the other resort staff should follow their example. They were the only ones who seemed to care

I was here last year with my two older children and we had a blast as a family vacation. I really wanted to come back with my husband since he wasn’t able to join last time so we returned for a couple’s trip. It truly is a magical place with stunning water and out of this world scenery. We had Dian as our island host last time and she was so amazing that I requested her again and she did not disappoint. Her service is amazing and she truly will go out of her way to give you the vacation of a lifetime. We keep kosher and our food is a bit complicated and she made sure everything ran like clockwork, our special meals were ready on time and just had everything spot on. They really work hard to please here and each staff member greets with a sincere smile. If they aren’t full they will work to give you a late checkout and just in general try to be accommodating. Thank you Conrad staff and Dian in particular you are all a credit to your hotel and brand! Last time we stayed in a Sunset Pool Villa and this time were in a regular Pool Villa (number 123) and it was also awesome! This villa is literally on the other side of the resort and faces the opposite direction but it was also totally lovely. We got a view of the sunrise and the other islands off in the distance and the truly stunning different shades of water. The water is a lot deeper in this section so you have to swim a little bit to get close to a reef and fish for snorkeling but there are still lots of fish that swim by your deck. I did the half day Ray and Shark snorkeling tour this morning (booked through the concierge) and it was one of the best snorkeling days of my life. We stopped in four spots: one for Manta Rays, one for sharks and sting rays, one for eagle rays, and one on a massive coral reef full of thousands of fish. I highly recommend it. Run, don’t walk to this resort and have the vacation of a lifetime!!

On our 10th wedding anniversary, we decided to go back to where we spent our Honeymoon. We opted for a different resort this time. From InterContinental Thalasso and spa to the Conrad, it's like we're on a totally different island. We were greeted by our personal concierge from the time we docked on the resort. Check in was pretty smooth and then we were whisked away to our over water bungalow. We like Conrad better for a number of reasons, the service, amenities, size of the resort and quality of food were all a notch better. The other reason we like Conrad is because the bungalows are spread out, you're not on path of villas.....which provides you with prime views and not having to look at your neighbor. We loved it so much that we recommended the same resort to our good friends and prompted them to go and loved it too! Do try the shrimp tempura at the Upa Upa lounge bar while watching the marine life from their glass bottomed floor. Do opt for a private snorkeling tour because they can take you to the Coral Gardens close to the airport which is just other worldly. Sadly, 10 years ago we loved "The Aquarium" snorkeling site but now has been over ran by tourists (due to the fish feeding). You still get to snorkel with the black tip sharks, manta rays (not guaranteed), stingrays, and eagle rays. Last but not least is to book a private lunch at Motu Tapu, Conrad's private islet. You will have the whole island to yourself with a server and not to worry also about restrooms coz they have plumbed toilets on the islet. Ours was made extra special because it was the day of Tahiti Nui Va'a canoe race, Tahiti's biggest event for the year. The resort offered a boat excursion for guests to watch the race at Matira Beach (finish line for the race) for a fee and only comes with drinks and snacks. We had the front row and unobstructed view of the race because the race turns around the Motu Tapu from the pass. It was such a thrill to watch the race and our hearts swelled for the participants considering the herculean effort they had to put into racing/rowing/paddling for 3 days through 3 islands. We happily cheered for everyone passing the island. We really loved our stay at the Conrad and is already planning our return. There's so much to write about for our stay that it might become too long and boring for you guys to read. My recommendation, just book the flight and your stay at the Conrad and you will experience what many of us have been raving about.

I usually don't leave reviews, but this time I wanted to provide some insight for people considering spending a significant amount on this luxurious resort. Contrary to their "welcome to paradise" greeting, my five-day stay at the Conrad Bora Bora was far from paradise. Here are the reasons: 1. Check-in: We arrived early due to our flight schedule, but were made to wait until after 3 PM, the official check-in time. With no way to charge our devices and limited activities available, we were forced to idle away the time. Additionally, the welcome drink we were initially offered was inexplicably removed before we could enjoy it. 2. Cockroaches: This was the most shocking aspect of our trip. It's absurd to return from a "paradise" resort only to be plagued by giant cockroaches. We could even hear their footsteps. When we first encountered one, we requested assistance from the concierge. We had to monitor the situation for an hour, as we didn't want to miss the service person's arrival. When they finally arrived after ONE HOUR of waiting, the cockroach was gone, and we were left to sleep uneasily. On the second day, another cockroach appeared, and the concierge's response was both dismissive and unprofessional. They joked about local superstitions on cockroaches rather than taking the issue seriously. We had to point out the cockroach to the service person, who then reluctantly attempted to remove it. The next day, we found yet another cockroach, leaving us feeling paranoid and disgusted. 3. WiFi: The WiFi is terrible. It's unstable and keeps cutting in and out randomly. If you have important meetings to attend during your stay, you might have difficulty joining them. 4. Hygiene: The snorkeling gear we borrowed was moldy, raising serious concerns about the cleanliness standards of the resort. This is the gear you put in your mouth! 5. Isolation and Cost: The island is quite isolated, and there are limited options for activities and dining. The resort's taxi service is exorbitantly priced, and the free shuttle runs on a very limited schedule. This means that any off-site activity comes at a significant cost. 6. Poor Time Management: Everything seems to run behind schedule. Restaurant reservations are often delayed, check-in times are not adhered to, and even breakfast service starts late. We had to wait when we arrived at 6:30 for breakfast, which was the official start time of the breakfast buffet. 7. Lack of Refrigeration: It's a tropical area, and you don't have a fridge. There is a minibar, and they allow you to use it after removing all the stuff inside. But the minibar is just 4-5 degrees cooler than room temperature. If you put water in it and take it out after overnight, you still don't see any condensation on the surface of the water bottle because it’s not cold enough! 8. Subpar Dining: The Upa Upa Lounge is a disappointment. Never get food from this restaurant. They have a very beautiful ocean view, so you may consider it as your dinner place. Their sushi was TERRIBLE. It's the worst sushi roll in my whole life. Convenience store-style sushi rolls sold in regular grocery stores in the US would be better than theirs. The rice was not cooked well, so it was hard. And the miso soup had no flavor. It was literally the taste you would get if you put tofu in boiled water. When we said the rice was not cooked well to the server, she was laughing and said we could go to the kitchen and talk to the chef. What? Are you serious? 9. Maintenance Issues: There was a bicycle in front of our door when we first checked in. And it was there forever. No one moved it to the bicycle rack where it was supposed to be. I had to move it myself because I didn't want people to think we were monopolizing it. 10. No sound proof: We stayed in an overwater bungalow. It was hilarious to hear our right-side neighbor coughing and our left-side neighbor responding, "Bless you." There was absolutely no privacy. I hate to be this complaining person because I'm not that kind of person, of course there were good things too. For example, the local employees were very kind and nice. Every time I made eye contact, they said "Yorana" (the local language for "Hi") with a smile. The beauty of nature was stunning. The food options inside the resort were pretty much good quality and value (I could be biased because we're from one of the most expensive cities in the world). But I'm still writing this review because our experience was very different from what you would expect from a five-star hotel with a ~$1300/night price. With that price point, I think they have to be way better than this.
