Excellent Hotel at the V&A Waterfront

Great hotel in a great location. Our room was a mountain view luxury room with a balcony directly facing Table Mountain. Room was spacious with all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful especially when I was struck down with a stomach bug. Breakfast was amazing stretching across three areas with a huge choice of food for every taste. Only slight downside was a ship being repaired immediately adjacent to the hotel with constant noise during the day. Overall very good.

We had two nights here as part of our travels and it's a great location to explore the waterfront.
It has a definite feeling of luxury (even though I understand they are soon to have some renovations). But the most outstanding things about the hotel are their staff and client relations.
Without exception, the staff were brilliant. Our initial reception, all the waiting staff in the restaurant, bar and atrium lounge, room services, the concierge sorting out our Table mountain visit after a disappointing experience there. A place is only a reflection of it's people, how well they work combined with how happy they are - at Table Bay the impression is certainly good.
We didn't have dinner, but the breakfasts are excellent with sooo much choice, and a great bar with fab cocktails - again the staff couldn't be more obliging.
The icing on the cake was the treat arranged because of our special occasion. It again showed that were we valued customers and it was very much appreciated 👏

We have been regular visitors to the Table Bay over the last twenty years and our latest seven night stay was not a disappointment in any way.
The rooms (we had a Mountain view which also has a wonderful view of the harbour) are spacious and well appointed and still in very good condition after nearly 30 years.
The breakfast buffet is probably the best in South Africa with an amazing choice and all the staff are lovely.
We are well aware that the hotel is closing shortly for a major refurbishment and change of brand. We sincerely hope that the character of this wonderful hotel, for us the best in Cape Town, is not spoilt.

This is an excellent hotel in an excellent location in the heart of the Victoria and Albert Harbor. There are great restaurants and shops well within walking distance from the hotel. We felt very safe in the area. The rooms were spacious, well appointed and extremely comfortable. The complete breakfast was fabulous with delicious options and wonderful service. The staff was extremely competent and welcoming. The concierge service was helpful and patient before our journey and during our stay. The salt water pool was a nice touch. The only negative would be the undersized gym for such a large establishment. However, I didn't come to work-out, and I would still highly recommend this hotel if visiting Cape Town.

eg) the mountain, good restaurants, boat for Robben Island. Room was spacious if a little tired. What makes this hotel really special? The staff ! Service is faultless from housekeeping to breakfast/ drinks service etc. The concierge team deserves a special mention; especially Enrico who went above and beyond. Thank you for a wonderful stay and looking forward to our already booked return.

This is a lovely hotel and in a brilliant position. Very handy to have the waterfront a 1 min walk away for eating and drinking after a long day of sightseeing.
Room was massive, comfortable and great view of table mountain. Disappointed not to have a balcony as most rooms seemed to have one.
Also Disappointed with the check in. It was busy in reception due to a conference however we were just given room keys and told where to go. No information given on hotel facilities and services. I.e bars, restaurants, pool. No information on the local area. No information when breakfast to and from and where. No information provided in rooms either.
Breakfast was great although could get a bit chaotic. I thought there was perhaps a little too much choice for breakfast like they were trying to encompass every taste and nationality

We found this to be the perfect location in Cape Town for our trip. The Hotel is excellent, the Waterfront has many good restaurants and shops, and the surroundings feel very safe. We stayed in a Junior suite with views of Table mountain and the Waterfront. We also had a balcony with a views over the Ocean towards Robben Island. Room Service is very efficient, changing towels every time you use one, also a turn down service that is done a little early for us at 6.30 pm. Tea and coffee making is great and some fresh biscuits were a lovely touch each day. The choice at Breakfast is immense and should please everybody. To see Oysters was amazing although I didn't fancy them first thing in the morning! The staff are all very polite and kind. The Swimming Pool area is lovely with plenty of sun loungers and a pool bar which will provide food and drink. The pool however was a bit chilly on a couple of days. We hired a car at the airport and had no trouble in finding the Hotel and it's excellent car park. The attendants will park your car and retrieve it if you wish. All in all this Hotel helped make our stay in Cape Town a wonderful one. Thank you

Hotel is in a fantastic location, rooms are a good size and ours had an excellent view of Table Mountain. Breakfast is also good, large selection - the only downside was the pastries weren’t particularly fresh but it’s made up by the other options. Check in was very easy too.

This is beautiful hotel in the best location within easy walking distance to anything within the V & A waterfront area. The rooms are lovely, buffet breakfast is amazing, service is great, and live music was provided at times in the lobby lounge which we really enjoyed. Staff were very personable and helpful. Would highly recommend a stay at this hotel!! Only thing I would change is the menu at the Siba restaurant (which is beautiful)...it would have been nice to have a more extensive menu that would appeal to all. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

A bit dated and disappointing considering the price.

Also depending on time of breakfast sometimes there were not enough tables. Some staff friendlier than others, mostly felt a bit impersonal. The car drop off and pick up was really convenient.

Whilst this hotel is quite expensive it is definitely in need of an overhaul in terms of moderation. That being said the rooms are comfortable, spacious and cater for all ones needs. All staff were friendly and amenable and the extensive breakfast buffet left little to be desired although there was a short wait for a table on occasions. This I believe being due to large 1 night coach parties.
It's location is highly desirable being within a short walk from all surrounding amenities including colourful and interesting restaurants, boat trips and Robben Island Museum.

Good views - service average
Good views, good food, great location. Room very pleasant and comfortable. Interesting exhibition on rhinos. Breakfast fairly indifferent and staff disinterested. Spa and pool facilities average with neither spa nor steam room working and staff again disinterested.
