The restaurant and bar were both good, offering quality food and a pleasant atmosphere. Most of the staff were welcoming and friendly, contributing to a warm and inviting environment. However, I couldn’t help but notice some inconsistencies in the level of hospitality. While many staff members provided outstanding service to all guests, I observed that a few treated non-white guests differently compared to white guests. This was disappointing, especially given the otherwise high standards of the hotel.
If the hotel can address this issue and ensure truly equal treatment for all guests, it would be an exceptional place to stay. Overall, I still enjoyed my visit, primarily due to the fantastic room and river view.

While we travel a lot, I'm not a very big review writer. However, this was such an amazing property with fabulous staff, that I had to make sure I recognized them. From the very moment at check in, to the butler staff and dining and housekeeping, I'm not sure I've stayed a nicer property. We even had an issue with our return flight and the staff helped with a seamless additional night stay. Valeria was especially helpful with our early morning breakfast(including our entire stay there)

From the moment we stepped out of our taxi we felt very welcomed at the st Regis.
The service was impeccable, we had the deluxe river view room that came with a butler, ironing service , complimentary tea and coffee brought to our room when we awoke. The facilities in the room were lovely, puffy slippers and night gowns, face cleanser to bamboo toothbrushes. Turn down surface with delicious chocolate truffles left on our pillow. Little touches that make so much difference to the stay.
We were here for our anniversary, so the extra hearts on our bed, the tier of nuts and chocolates that awaited us was perfecto. It made our stay very special.
The breakfast selection was lovely, a wide variety of foods for all dietary requirements. We enjoyed the complementary drinks that were offered between 6-7 pm, a very talented piano player alongside the waiter that opens a bottle of champagne with a sword in the garden room.
The hotel is situated in the perfect place just on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle but 10 - 15 minute walk to the main attractions.
The hotel has a beautiful charm that adds to the wonderful city.
The staff are lovely and welcoming and I would highly recommend staying in this hotel.

Except, €50 per head for breakfast is not good. My wife and I can’t eat €100 of food every morning for breakfast. We went to some of the very excellent cafes within a few minutes walk. In fact we never eat in the hotel as the restaurant lacks atmosphere and is very formal. But beautifully decorated and the staff superb.

Our stay was, overall, enjoyable, but we were a bit disappointed with the property. Not with respect to the staff or cleanliness or comfort, but instead simply because the hotel feels dated and could use a refresh. This is a small quibble really, but rooms are priced at the very top of the Florence market, and as such, should feel fresh and new. Again, staff was great and the hotel is well maintained. It's just probably due for an overhaul sometime in the not too distant future.

Room was very nice, very clean
Reynardo the butler was such a gentleman and wish I could’ve talked to him more.
The one night we stayed for our anniversary we did not get the evening turn down service. When asked downstairs there was someone named Mr. Park who clearly was not only judging us by asking “where did we eat for the evening” as one of the first comments, but also judging my spouse and I when it came to our clothes. By giving us constant up and down looks.
Mind you that we were dressed very nice at least in our opinion and my spouse even had her Louis V bag, but that’s besides the point.
When he asked I just said “somewhere” because we felt we were getting harrassed. To which he started laughing and saying “sure, sure”
this was when we asked another employee about the turn down service and Mr Park came very aggressively to our conversation as if we were asking a lot.
We did end up getting two free drinks at the bar downstairs while they did the service
but I felt it was to shut us up while they cleaned our room for the service.
Mr Park was not seen again as we also felt that the other employees handled it very professionally and kept Mr Park and ourselves separate in order to keep the peace.
Hotel is very very nice and we were grateful for the room, but Mr Park needs some corrective training on customer service when it comes to the customer,
Bottom line is that we were asking for a service that was included in our stay but when asked, the employee (Mr Park) was very aggressive for no reason.
I only write this so future guest may know what to expect,
We have stayed all over the world in various Marriot Locations from the Ritz to even courtyards but that one incident made our stay not a memorable one on our Anniversary night.

We divided our stay in Florence between the St Regis (for 4 nights ) and Four Seasons (5 nights ) so I will compare the two.
Location: The St Regis is an easier walk to shops and restaurants and is next to the Arno River. They do not provide any shuttle service to the historic center like the Four Season does. The Four Seasons has gorgeous, large peaceful gardens but the St Regis has no outdoor areas for relaxing.
Rooms: Although some of this is personal preference, we feel Four Seasons easily wins this category in terms of meticulous upkeep, outlets, bathroom design and ease of climate control. The St Regis was overall very well maintained but had more of an antique/grandma’s house feel with some sagging cushions, heavy dragging drapes, scuff marks on wood floor in our room and older- looking carpet and slight dings in hallways. We also preferred the overall ambiance of our Four Seasons room as it was lighter and brighter. Our St Regis room was large and very nice but had darker, bulkier furniture and heavy, very ornate closet doors. The St Regis had a slightly better shower stall size/ water pressure but Four Seasons had bigger/better towels. Both had very comfortable beds and pristine linens. The Four Seasons has electronic buttons for housekeeping and “do not disturb” but the St Regis has a paper sign you hang on the door. It was more circuitous to get to our St Regis room and required navigating some stairs, whereas, the Four Seasons was more convenient in this regard. However, this would likely depend on exact location of specific rooms. Both hotels have gorgeous impressive lobbies.
Service: The Four Seasons definitely wins this category . At the St Regis we were never offered any water by the doormen or generally were not asked by them if we needed help ( except when we had suitcases). The Four Seasons doormen constantly asked us if we wanted water or needed assistance with anything. They were very proactive. One night we ordered soft drinks and appetizers in the St Regis restaurant bar area and actually felt ignored. We were never asked if we wanted any additional drinks, our dirty dishes were not removed, and we had to ask for the check. Service at breakfast each day was average. We felt servers performed their jobs on autopilot, whereas, the Four Seasons waiters were much more personable and service oriented. The St Regis did give us a bottle of Prosecco for our anniversary but no sweets or snacks to go with it like the Four Seasons did (plus other thoughtful surprises). Also, while we noticed the St Regis staff had placed a stopper in our open Prosecco bottle in the room, they also had emptied the water in the bucket but never replaced the ice. Laundry service came back packaged more nicely at the Four Seasons (but it was also more expensive). These are nitpicking items but shows the difference in level of service. I will say the St Regis concierge and front desk staff were excellent when we had questions and that a maintenance issue we had at St Regis was also quickly rectified.
Food: We felt St Regis was average for bar snacks and the breakfast buffet for a luxury hotel. Nothing wowed us. The cooked to order breakfast entrees were much better at the Four Seasons in our opinion and more authentic. Coffee/cappuchino was always served lukewarm at St Regis. Room service meals at Four Seasons were outstanding in terms of taste, presentation and service. We did not order any room service at St Regis.
Summary: If we had not stayed at the Four Seasons Florence the first part of our vacation we probably would have thought the St Regis was wonderful. However, we kept comparing the two hotels and kept saying to ourselves that we wished we had stayed at the Four Seasons our entire trip. The Four Seasons had a higher price point but we felt it was worth every penny as it was truly flawless and kept exceeding our expectations. It may sound snobbish but our St Regis experience fell slightly below our expectations for a luxury hotel which is why I gave it four stars instead of five (I know, first world problem).

The hotel is exquisite in every sense and centrally located on the Arno river which very close to the central train station.
The hotel staff were highly professional, helpful and hard working. The front desk staff, the butler team, the concierges and the restaurant/bar staff made us feel very special and important during our stay! It is clear that this property is very well run and that the staff have their guests well being at heart!
The cleaning staff did an amazing job with our daily cleaning and turn down service. The attention to detail was off the chart.
A special thank you to Andrea at the concierge desk who provided us excellent service and advice on local restaurants. He made all the arrangements for our reservations and they did not disappoint.
Also, Valeria was amazing for our breakfast service in the Winter Garden restaurant. Everything was top notch. She even arranged a wonderful take away breakfast for our last morning as we had a very early train!
Note: Excellent recognition of Marriott bonvoy elite status. We were upgraded to a beautiful Junior suite with a view of the Duomo!
Well done St Regis, we will definitely be back!

My husband and I had a truly outstanding stay here. Our room was spotless and exactly as described. The service was out of this world on every level, with a lot of special touches along the way. Special shout out to Sylvia for going above and beyond - even arranging a table at the sister hotel's restaurant across the street and walking us over there. The breakfast was fantastic and the cafe inside the lobby was also perfect. Only slight complaint would be that the dinner menu in the Winter Garden is very light and could be expanded. Overall, an unforgettable experience that we'll measure every other hotel by going forward.

My wife and I spent two days in Florence during our honeymoon trip to Italy, and staying at the St Regis was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Upon arriving we learned we had been upgraded to a beautiful suite with balconies overlooking the river. The room was spectacular, and the entire hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The service by the entire staff was impeccable. When they learned that we were on our honeymoon, we came back from dinner the first night and found the staff had left a bottle of champagne and a bowl of delicious chocolates in our room with a note of congratulations! My wife asked if we could buy a box of the chocolates to take home, and as we were leaving a member of the butler staff met us at our cab with a complementary box they had prepared for us! I truly can't say enough about the incredible service by the entire staff. We hope to return to Florence one day, and if we do we will absolutely be staying at the St Regis again.

We stayed at the St Regis in Florence for 4 nights. Fabulous location. Close to everything, and the location on the Arno is very picturesque, especially if you get accomodations that face it. We were upgraded to a corner Junior Suite with stunning views. Very spacious. Well appointed. However our first night we were in a deluxe room that was very tight with a ridiculous closet that fit next to nothing with a bathroom that really needed a renovation. I mention this, because aside from space, the bathrooms (there were multiple) in the Junior Suite were much newer in my opinion. Separate tub/shower. So I think the rooms vary dramatically. However the one issue we noticed in both rooms were gnats/mosquitoes flying around. The deluxe room had some. Didn’t take too much notice. But they were definitely present. On the other hand, in the junior suite on the second night, we came home from dinner on our first night and there was an infestation around the bedside lamps and on the walls on either side between the headboard the the lights. It was vile. Took towels to literally try and kill as many as we could. We had never opened the windows at all. There is a card placed by the windows mentioning to be wary of doing so because of the proximity to the river. However, we never opened a single window. We addressed the situation to the front desk manager the next morning, and to be honest, she seemed pretty unfazed. Which leads me to believe, I am not the first to mention this. More aggressive extermination procedures should really be in place to prevent this kind of guest experience. We were told that the room was being thoroughly cleaned and when we returned at the end of the day, we noticed citronella plug ins by the lights. Thankfully, no more issues with insects.
Aside from this, the service was very good across the board. The concierge was excellent. Breakfast was great. Overall still a great choice.

She acknowledged my lifetime titanium status with Marriott and ensured we had a beautiful room. Shortly after we were greeted by Eduarodo from the bar. He offered us nice welcome cocktails and we enjoyed lovely conversation. Our room was spacious and the bed oh so comfortable! Food was great. Breakfast was the best we have had on our 6 week trip. By the way for anyone trying to decided between Four Seasons or St Regis, we did go over to Four Seasons to take a look. We were very happy we selected St. Regis as the location is much better. It is a wonderful property with A+ staff and service. You will not be disappointed!

First time in Florence and we could not have been more pleased. The property is centrally located in a very walkable city.
Check in was a breeze, we were a little early so a quick bite at their casual restaurant Cafe Ginori. Their Tris di Arancine, amazing and a seafood salad that was all seafood in a light and tasty vinaigrette, wow!
Once our room was ready we made our way to a beautiful room on the 2nd floor overlooking the Arno river. The river view room was worth the price.
The two butler’s introduced themselves and were helpful several times in our four night stay.
Dinner our first night at their Winter Garden restaurant. A delicious meal in a stunning setting. A special thanks to Marco our waiter, he was gracious in accommodating a special request.
Breakfast every morning on the second floor mezzanine overlooking the Winter Garden was a good start to the day, amazing selections with service to match.
A special thanks to the entire staff. Five star service. The concierge desk helped with airport transfers and several last minute reservations, housekeeping was quick and discreet. The door and bellmen always helpful with a greeting and a smile.
Really nothing negative to say about our stay… can’t wait to visit again.

We had a fabulous stay at the St. Regis. The location is great. It’s right off the Arno and on a piazza where there is a rotating craft and flea market. It’s a great central location, less than a 30 minute walk to most of the important attractions. The staff were really attentive. The concierge staff gave generally reliable advice. The bar is a lot of fun. Guests receive complementary glass of champagne between 6 and 7 pm. There is a fun champagne saberong ceremony every evening at around 6:30. We were upgraded to a junior suite. It was gorgeous and we really enjoyed the sitting area. The bathroom was great with one of the best hotel showers that I have ever used. My wife and I appreciated the double sinks. The housekeeping staff were great. The St. Regis is a bit of a splurge, but it made our stay in Florence special. This is our first choice when we visit.
