It is a lovely hotel and location, nice smell as you enter and attentive front desk and concierge! I visited December for my birthday, and booked the Suite. The downside was upon entering the room there was a lipstick kiss mark on the mirrored wall next to the TV, and the cleaner was still in the bathroom. The suite is lovely and spacious and electric blinds create nice privacy, the mini bar has an eclectic mix of goodies that are london priced. I did admire the fact the GM took me away from the front desk of customers checking in to deal with the matter so it was more private and it was sufficiently dealt with I do feel the £1,450 for the night paid was not up to the standard of other landmark hotels in affluent london areas, especially as the check-in times and check out times did not leave much to admire I would visit again in a standard room as the service was excellent

The hotel was outstanding in every way. The staff were attentive and proactive yet somehow unobstusive, and the room was fantastic. From the minute we arrived we felt special and this feeling persisted throught our stay. And, of course, the views were incredible.

I don't have enough lovely words to say about our recent stay at the Shangri - La The Shard. My husband surprised me with a three night stay for my birthday and what an amazing stay we had. From the moment we arrived all of the staff we met were so friendly, polite and extremely efficient. We have never stayed in hotel where the staff get things 100% right 100% of the time. Our room was beautiful and was later decorated with Happy Birthday balloons, a birthday cake was also provided and was delicious, the birthday message written on the window was a brilliant added touch too. The concierge staff were extremely helpful whenever we needed transport or advice, and a special mention has to go to Arnoldas who arranged for a hairdresser to do my hair at 6a.m! his Les Cleft d'Or is well deserved! The hotel is large but somehow we were made to feel like we were the only people staying there, an amazing mix of professionalism and warmth. All in all we had a fantastic stay and cannot wait to return for a third stay - especially as we didn't have time to use the beautiful pool this time.

A beautiful stay. This hotel was on my bucket list and my husband wasn’t sold on stopping here due to him thinking it may be pretentious. As much as the hotel was high class the staff were amazing and weren’t ’stuck up’ as my husband thought they might be. They made you feel really at home and at ease. The hotel room itself was divine. The bath overlooking London was just amazing, the electric blinds which open when you walk into a room really set the tone and the spa was amazing. We got the first slot in the spa of the morning, and for a while had the infinity pool to ourselves which was just so amazing and peaceful. I really recommend this hotel for an amazing night away.

Had a memorable weekend stay at the Shangri La! We booked with Amex platinum programme, and received nice perks such as room upgrade and dinning credit upon arrival - all very smooth. The check in staff was super friendly, and the overall property, the view and hospitality made me feel I was transported away to the Far East like Singapore and Hong Kong! This really echos hertiage of the brand. Amazing to feel elevated above London with the views as we wanted a relaxing weekend away. Overall the property is very well maintained and the swimming in the sky pool and sauna with views from 52/f over London is a bucket list for us!

I’ve waited a couple of weeks to write this review, so not to write in haste. Our trip really was a bucket list one & we took the opportunity to celebrate both our birthdays & anniversary. The check in was ok, Gabriel very helpful & the room on first entry was stunning, it’s obvious the views are the usp. That said our room was no different to any other business hotel & cold, although to increase the temperature it became quite noisy. The tv in the bathroom didn’t work, we were only left one breakfast tea bag & one tea cup We went to the pool which was so cold we left & the gym only had one running machine & one bike working. Sad I know but we’re training for an event In the evening we had Gong booked but wanted a drink before hand, we were told ‘ting staff would try & accommodate our request for drinks however the restaurant took priority’ This I found really disappointing & there rally should be a residents bar area. Overall not my bucket list experience & there are many better in London

We stayed at the Shangrl-La in January 2025, for a birthday treat and were not disappointed. From our arrival, right up until the moment we left, the whole experience was faultless. Every member of the staff went beyond our expectations and made our all too brief stay an unforgettable experience. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. All the hotel staff were wonderful, and clearly take great pride in their roles and in the hotel itself. It seemed that all of the front desk, restaurant and the housekeeping staff knew it was my birthday, and went out of their way to make our stay special; a special thanks to the housekeepers sprang a little surprise on us to help us celebrate...somewhat hilarious and something that we'll cherish for a very long time. The room was perfect, with fabulous views over London and every aspect of it was without doubt, better than any other hotel we've stayed in. The bed was a super king size in our room; the most comfortable (and biggest!) bed we've ever slept in! There were some small but simple touches some of which we've never seen in any other hotel which added something extra to the whole experience (e.g. binoculars so that we could take in the wonderful view from the 50th floor). We dined at the Ting restaurant, and that was amazing. The very friendly staff went out of their way to ensure that this was a wonderful experience, and it was definitely one that we will never forget. The food was fantastic, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented with great pride. We chose to drive to the hotel and 'valet' the car rather than find somewhere to park. Very easy and convenient. I'd recommend that not only for the convenience, but also the cost is not much more than parking in a public carpark. We are already planning a return to the hotel. A fabulous experience in what is now our favourite hotel world wide.

They were knowledgeable about local attractions, restaurants and even provided thoughtful recommendations for sightseeing. The room was absolutely stunning. The modern and sleek design of the space blended with elegant touches that make it feel both luxurious and comfortable. The floor to ceiling windows offered a view that was almost too beautiful to be real. The attention to detail was evident in everything, from the plush bedding to the high end amenities.

Excellent service - Asore. Friendly staff & a great vibe. 100% recommend visiting. The staff were very attentive and look after you well. The best view of the whole of London and it’s incredibly picturesque. The ambience is sophisticated yet relaxed.

Guest Relations and Front Office- Claire, Rong Lin, Elias, TING -Yemi, Danny, Helga, Musa, CONCEIRGE - Christian SECURITY - Marianne, GONG - Leo, DUTY MANAGER Dylan de Almeida these are the real-life super hearos who went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. 1 week was not enough to spend time with them. The Housekeeping was amazing, so much love and care went into making our room busy although my husband is a very messy person :-)) There were so many other staff they were as good as the names I mentioned. Very loving, caring, and extremely professional. You have set a standard so high now, and I know no matter where I stay next, I will never be happy as I will be comparing the service and the love we received at the Shard. Difficult to know where to start with this review, my wife and I have stayed at several of the top hotels in London, but nothing has even come close to the experience of our stay at Shangri-La at The Shard. The visit was to celebrate my wife’s birthday and I had considerable email communication with the Guest Relations Team and the Concierge Team prior to arrival, emails were always responded to promptly, politely and with helpful suggestions at all times and my thanks go in particular to Kehinde, Night Concierge and Nora, Guest Relations Supervisor in their assistance with planning surprises for my wife’s birthday. Upon arrival at the hotel we were made to feel so welcome and at home, our luggage was unloaded from our car for us and delivered swiftly to our room. The room was truly amazing, from the view to the facilities in the room. The concierge Team had kindly arranged for the hotel’s Rolls Royce Phantom to take us to The Royal Opera House that evening and the Phantom was ready and waiting for us when we came down, driven superbly by our friendly driver Tony. What makes Shangri-La at The Shard so very special is the staff, their professionalism is exemplary, which you would expect, however, they combine this professionalism with a sincere warmth and friendliness that made us feel very comfortable and at home, more like staying with good friends that couldn’t do enough to help you. This style of service is very rare and hard to achieve, I would like to think that every guest of Shangri-La would take time to understand and appreciate this approach, it certainly made us feel like we wanted to move in and make the hotel our permanent home. Every member of staff smiled and spoke to us wherever we went in the hotel, they seemed to know who we were and took time to be interested in us. Staff coming to the room always asked if they could enter the room and always asked if there was anything else we needed, there never was, as they think of everything. The turn down service provided an outstanding level of service, providing a chocolate, slippers and a book. Room service literally tidied up everything in the room and in a thoughtful and considerate way, even creating a tasteful display out of my wife’s jewellery. The concierge team were outstanding, providing us with the Phantom for our journeys around town and advice on travel times. My wife certainly tested the Concierge Team by asking them to locate a hairstylist that could create a 1940s hairstyle at 6:00 AM the following morning, after providing them with example photographs, Arnoldas, senior concierge, duly found an amazing hairstylist and the housekeeping team provided a suitable chair at the stylist’s request. This really made the day for her on our trip aboard the Pullman Train to Dover. In many cases staff were able to provide with the service we needed in advance of us asking for it, showing an unmatchable level of customer care and thoughtfulness on their part. We also made use of the Gong Bar and once again the standard service and attentiveness is unrivalled, by people who are genuinely pleased to see you and serve you, in such ways as moving us to a window seat when one became available. I only have one complaint about our stay at Shangri-La at The Shard, it has completely ruined us for staying at any other hotel, as the standard of service set here is something other hotels can only aspire to, we will be back soon.

We got married in January and have yet to go on our honeymoon, so we decided to take this bucket list trip to the Shangri La to celebrate our wedding. We utilised the valet parking, which didn't need to be prebooked, which really started off our visit after a long drive to get to the hotel. Check-in was seamless, and we very gratefully received an upgraded room that was out of this world!!! We stayed in room 5007 and were literally sleeping in the clouds - the room was large and comfortable, and anything you could possibly require for a stay was already provided. The bath with a view was an experience that I didn't know that I needed and was absolutely incredible. We prebooked a table for breakfast on Saturday morning and were luckily provided a table with a view, even on Sunday morning we still had a stunning view - staff remembered us from the morning before and the service was outstanding. Breakfast itself was high quality, and we opted for the buffet - food was hot and replenished regularly. Prior to arrival, I had booked a slot at the rooftop pool for 6 am on Sunday morning to enable us to see the sunrise, and this did not disappoint. Robes and slippers are available in your room, and the pool had towels available, refreshments, and tea/coffee facilities. The sauna was also a welcome experience when you have that view. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and despite "thinking" that we were only going to stay in this hotel once, we will most definitely be back. The hotel is well located and it makes the sights in London easily accessible - we would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in London.

Had a lovely stay, the views of the bedrooms was beautiful, of course the food was lovely as always i definitely recommend the oblix, loved the breakfast we got all you can eat which was worth it, the pool and spa was amazing, I would deffo come back again.

I don't know where to start with how awful my experience was staying here. Firstly I want to advise that despite paying for an upgraded suite, a sink was BLOCKED with dirty water in our suite, it was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable, I wouldn't expect this from a budget hotel let alone a suite at the Shangri-La, it is so unhygienic that this was left for us. I booked this for my partners 60th very far in advance. I arranged to upgrade our suite to an even better one as it was a very special occasion, I never received any confirmation of the upgrades. I then received an email asking if I wanted to upgrade despite organising it months before, this caused me stress because it was the week before our stay and I had organised this upgrade in September (3-4 months before our stay.) I then called and emailed several times to find out what was going on and it took a while for anyone to come back to me, I had to chase and chase for someone to respond, when I did get a response... I still didn't get the confirmation of the upgrade confirmation and had to request again and again for this to be confirmed. Confirmation of booking and changes to said booking is the most basic standard to expect in this day and age. The communication was terrible. I am a disabled and very unwell woman, I have 2 chronic diseases that are triggered by stress and instead of having the most wonderful and memorable 60th for my boyfriend, we had a very disappointing and stressful one. Memorable for all the wrong reasons. For the cost of ANY room at this hotel I expected so much more, would not recommend staying here, so many beautiful hotels in London for a much better experience, I wish we had stayed somewhere else. I paid £45 pounds for a birthday cake which NEVER arrived, we ended up feeling so deflated by the end of the night as I had tried so hard to organise things to be perfect for this very special occasion. The communication was terrible, I had to chase and chase for a response at times I was eventually offered SOME discount off my stay, it was not good enough. The sink was blocked with feral, dirty water that was there when we arrived so left from the last guest. I am baffled that this was not cleaned.

Upon returning to London for our anniversary, there was only one, truly magical place to stay among the clouds. The Shangri-La at the Shard offers remarkable, personalized service from beautiful rooms, a pillows menu and a sumptuous mattress. I was incredibly impressed by the attention to detail and attentiveness of all staff. Not only do I recommend this excellent hotel to anyone visiting London but I am already planning my return.

My wife Anna booked our stay at the Shangri-La as a surprise, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived, the check-in experience was smooth, professional, and warm. It truly set the tone for an unforgettable weekend. The hotel is stunning—elegant, luxurious, and beautifully designed. Our room was spotless, incredibly comfortable, and had breathtaking views across London. We absolutely loved the restaurant, the bar, and the overall ambience. The Sky Pool and sauna were standout features—so relaxing, and the views from the top were something else. Every area was impeccably maintained, and the service was consistently excellent. We’ve stayed in some well-known 5-star hotels that didn’t quite live up to expectations, especially when it comes to cleanliness and attention to detail. But the Shangri-La exceeded all of that. My wife is very particular when it comes to hotel standards, and even she was thoroughly impressed. It was faultless. We can’t wait to return—next time with our children so they can experience this incredible hotel too. A solid 10/10.

Dining at GŎNG and TĪNG was an experience in itself—gourmet menus, flawless service, and cocktails with a view I’ll never forget. Every single team member I encountered radiated genuine hospitality. It wasn’t just five-star luxury; it was heartfelt, personalised care that made me feel like the most important guest in the hotel. This was my first ever Shangri-La experience, and now I understand what all the fuss is about. I can honestly say I’ve never stayed anywhere that has left such a lasting impression. I’d return in a heartbeat—and I’d love the chance to experience another Shangri-La property somewhere around the world (hint hint!). To the team: thank you for making my milestone birthday more magical than I could’ve imagined. You’ve officially raised the bar for luxury stays everywhere. The views are to die for... from the room and bathroom and breakfast. The interior was great and we were able to take our dog too. The pool was a little cool for my liking but honestly what an amazing hotel. The staff will do everything they can for you!

Quite possibly, the friendliest most professional staff I have ever had the pleasure of. Having stayed at some of the most prestigious hotels both at home and abroad, I cannot remember staff so welcoming and professional. The amenities, restaurants and bars are first rate and the food was spectacular. The rooms were large and comfortable and it goes without saying that the views of London are stunning. We slept with the blinds open and enjoyed the city lights from dusk til dawn. We cannot wait until our next stay in this fabulous hotel.

We had read a lot about the hotel and its famous view, but experiencing it in person was something else entirely. We stayed in the Westminster Suite, high above London, and the first impression was hard to put into words: as you walk in, the world outside just fades away. An entire city unfolds silently in front of you. Tower Bridge feels so close you could almost touch it. Then there’s the Tower of London, the Thames winding through the buildings, and further on, the unmistakable skyline of Canary Wharf. At the centre of it all, almost as if to remind you exactly where you are, rises the dome of St. Paul’s Cathedral—elegant, timeless. During the day the view is majestic, but at night it becomes intimate, even poetic. The city changes its rhythm, and watching it from the calm of the suite is one of the most memorable parts of our stay. The suite itself is spacious, understated, elegant. Every area is thoughtfully designed, and nothing feels accidental. The warm tones of the walls, the carefully selected materials, and the minimal but purposeful furniture all create a deep sense of calm and balance. There’s no showiness, no excess. The overall aesthetic feels cohesive, and above all, there’s a clear intention to make guests feel genuinely welcome and at ease. The bed is one of the suite’s highlights: large, extremely comfortable, dressed in high-quality linens, and perfectly positioned to never lose sight of the city. In the bedroom, there's even a Peloton bike, which genuinely surprised us. We didn’t use it—this was a time for rest—but it’s a thoughtful addition for guests who like to stay active, and the fact that it's placed in the bedroom rather than a generic fitness space says a lot about how the hotel personalises comfort. The bathroom is spacious, finished in light marble, with a walk-in shower and separate tub. Every detail has been considered: the bath products are excellent, the towels and robes thick, soft, and fresh. It doesn’t feel like a “standard” luxury bathroom—it feels intentional, refined. The service was consistently excellent: discreet, attentive, precise without being overbearing. Housekeeping was faultless, with many thoughtful touches you only notice if you pay attention—nothing ever felt out of place. We had some specific dietary requests, and they were handled smoothly, always with professionalism and kindness. Meals were presented beautifully, with careful attention to timing and quality. A very special thank you goes to Ms. Eva, who truly made us feel at home. She was available at all times, always ready to assist with any need, attentive, precise, warm, and never intrusive. She handled every detail with a level of care you rarely encounter—even in hotels of this category. Every single request, even the smallest, was met with ease and handled with true professionalism. It's hard to put into words just how much her approach contributed to making our stay special. She didn’t just manage things—she understood, anticipated, simplified. I genuinely want to highlight her professionalism, because Eva truly deserves our gratitude and recognition. She was a discreet but essential presence, and we will also remember her authentic kindness. Wow!! We have stayed in many of the best hotels in London and around the world but the Iconic View Room at the Shard Shanghai-La was out of this world. It was our 31st Wedding anniversary and we wanted somewhere special to celebrate. From arrival through to departure we were looked after and made to feel special. But the room and the view was something else, 180 degree view of the heart of London, out the left hand side St Paul’s, the middle the City with Tower 42, Bishopgate, the Walkie Talkie building, right middle Tower of London and Tower Bridge and right hand side the Thames meandering towards Canary Wharf. It might seem a lot when you book but worth every penny!!! Sometimes you don’t realise how beautiful London is until you stay somewhere like this.

We checked in by Jessica Wells she was very helpful, attentive and friendly, she gave us a welcome drink while she finished check in, then came and gave us the keys for our room at floor 64 , it was amazing room with a breathtaking view of the city of light LONDON. Honestly everything in this hotel was at good standard and best quality, We’d like to thank the Management and staff for their hospitality and politeness. Surely we’ll be back again and again.

They’re breathtaking, and the room even came with binoculars, complimentary champagne, chocolate cake, and a few other treats. It definitely felt like a special occasion, which is what we were going for. The bathroom setup was lovely—great shower, nice deep tub, and everything spotless. The room itself was spacious, modern, and had that “wow” factor, mostly thanks to the view (did I mention the view? Because it kind of steals the show). Now for the part where reality set in: don’t bother eating at Ting. It’s on the 35th floor, looks amazing, and then… the food shows up. Let’s just say, for the price, you’d expect to enjoy your meal, not push it around and then Google nearby restaurants. It was the one letdown of the stay. Paying premium prices and getting bland food is comedy, just not the kind you laugh at. Would I stay again? Yeah—because the hotel itself is an experience. Just be smart and make dinner reservations somewhere else.
