It really is just a dissapointing hotel. Staff are poorly trained and rude. (obviously there are exceptions, but the majority), nothing is anyones job, if you want a table at dinner, the best ones are not laid, if you ask "can we sit here" , tantrum from waiter at needing...

It really is just a dissapointing hotel. Staff are poorly trained and rude. Drinks are so hit and miss, you can order the same drink form 4 waiters you get 4 different drinks. Reception staff (and these inc managers) are the most useless and rude. Everyone is miserable. Go on a similar holiday to Turkey, the staff can not do enough for you, the peope in the bars and restaurants in Turkey are so friendly and hospitable, come to bulgaria it could not be more opposite. And i say this as someone who gave it a second chance, I came here in Sept 2023 and 2024. A niggle of mine is I like ice cold aircon, but they set it to a minimum of 20'c which is just not cold in my opinion, 28'c outside, I want respite in a cold room, but not possible. WHY, does the whole Lobby bar, reception, lifts and Eclipse bar smell of sewage, every day and night, potent over bearing sewage smell, thats obviously offensive to everyone as people avoid the right hand side of the massive space where its most potent! feels like a 2 star dive when walking through those central areas. There is a non smoking section, but forget that, there was a staff birthday party one night, the hotel staff, reserved 50% of the out door seating space for a party of 15 hotel staff, that were rude to anyone who went to sit down with out knowing it was reserved, literally calling them stupid for making the mistake, all smoking in the non smoking section, offering to fight people that raised the issue and the staff actually working ignored everyone else to cater for the staff party. It is generally kept pretty clean, but there are areas its apparent are not designated to anyone, so no one touches those areas, so dirty glasses and crockery etc build up and " not my job [shrug]" The food is dull, really dull. its basic, poorly cooked, obviously recycled, Chinese night on Wednesday, over cooked dry duck leg special... Thursday, Cold duck leg salad, this theme is repeated everyday, with bizzare concoctions. I have a sweet tooth, but never had dessert, the most boring little cakes, 6 different looking things, all taste the same, the "special hot dessert" 5 out of 7 nights was tinned apple in caramel sauce that was flavourles and thickened with gelatine, only reason to do this is to be cheap and not use double cream, 6th night, tinned fruit salad in the same sauce, 1 night was different, a rice pudding.... all bland. This is a 3 star hotel residing in the building of a former 5 star. Its a bit cheaper than some other options.... trust me, pay the extra... or compare it to 3 stars in other areas, its more comparable by far. I also had family in Dreams next door to secrets (we basically drifted between the two as they are owned by the same people and they are in one compound. Dreams is a lower star rating, its not great either, the drinks in dreams are aweful, the food is equal, sometimes more choice as its a much bigger hotel, the staff are the same, rude, scruffy, resent you for asking them for anything, very dated, more so than secrets, but its cheaper i believe. I really dont think either are worth the money, they do a good job making it look on Jet2 and Tui like really luxurios hotels... not the case, avoide the hotels, avoid Sunny beach (dirty, scruffy, not family friendly, feel like you're going to be mugged when you walk around the town).

Bed was enormous; larger than my superking at home 😀. The food was fine, a little cold sometimes on an evening. A la Carte restaurants were great, lovely food. Table service for drinks and some branded drinks on all inclusive was a nice unexpected extra. Did spot some jellyfish in the sea so beware!

Me and my partner stayed at the hotel for a week and returned yesterday (Saturday 5th October), normally I don’t write reviews but it felt the need to this time…..please ignore the negativity about this hotel, it is a fantastic place to visit and comes highly recommended - Yes, the pool is cold initially…you get use to it very quickly. We have been to hot places in August with pools that are heated and in my view, it is the same problem in most places. You have to get use to the temperature. - Accommodation is fantastic, we may have had an upgraded room but given how the staff appear to be on top of everything (for example, a cleaner spotted a tile track near the sauna, took a picture an a maintenance person came to fix it within an instant, this was really impressive) I suspect the quality across all rooms is of excellent standard. - The food is fine, I have seen reviews to suggest its basic and similar most nights but most hotels do the same thing, if this is a problem then go self catering, all inclusive dining isn’t for you. My partner is coeliac so can only eat gluten free foods, she felt this was well catered for. - Staff were fantastic. All very friendly when you talk to them…any requests didn’t seem to be a problem at all. Seen some reviews to suggest some were not friendly, if you have done a long shift at work and towards the end of it you were tired and groggy? Give them a break! On the day of our departure we checked out at 11am and our flight wasn’t until 10pm, we still had access to all the facilities, drink and dining at no extra charge which I found impressive, I was expecting some form of surcharge. - Airport is fine, fairly seamless process both on arrival and departure, the hotel shouldn’t receive the plaudits for this however, I know it’s a big thing and plays a part in the overall experience. Overall I am pleased we took the risk to go, I was a little apprehensive at booking it in the first place but I am so pleased I did, will definitely be booking again for next year. If you want a really nice hotel at a reasonable price then it’s worth taking the same risk. Well done all at the hotel!

Returned last week from this hotel. The only thing we could fault was the sunbeds and the chairs on the balcony. Exceptionally clean hotel and all the staff we interacted with were great. The room was very spacious, good shower & fridge re-stocked daily. The food was great, plenty of it & replenished very frequently. There was at least 3 choices of fish and 3 meats along with 2 soups, salads & desserts at lunch and evening sitting. We enjoyed the a la carte seafood evening too. Compared to other countries it is not 5* but I do beleive this is the best hotel at Sunny Beach. We spoke to some others in different hotels and i'm glad we chose this one. Being the end of Sept the resort was quieter but not like a ghost town. Plenty of sun beds to chose from. The pools were 'cold' to say the least but I did manage to cool off a couple of times without frostbite. (I'm sure I read before going that one was heated but this wasn't the case). Good pool towels too - we did see people with a lilo on top of their sunbed, if we were to return i'd do this too. The entertainment was quite average but what else do you want really. They are companies that tour the hotels every night - at least there was a little variety. We left the day of the big convention so couldn't extend our room for a late check-out but the shower facilities in the reception area were adequate enough for us. I would certainly visit a Secrets hotel again, this one in particular was half the price of Secrets in the canaries so very good value for money.

Really disappointed with our stay at Secrets Sunny Beach. In the interest of being fair we did stay at the end of the season so it might be a completely different hotel during peak time, but if you’re looking to book in September I would avoid. Positives: The room overlooking the sea and the hotel itself was beautiful, and the maids cleaning the rooms were brilliant. Negatives: - Food… the food in both of the main “restaurants” was terrible. Lots of choice but all tasteless and repetitive. Reluctant to even call them restaurants because they were more like canteens with no atmosphere and dirty cutlery. The Portofino Italian restaurant is just the pool buffet restaurant open in the evening, don’t believe it’s another restaurant option. - Staff… some of the staff (not all) were really unhelpful and completely ignored the guests. Especially when trying to book into the restaurants. - Atmosphere… the hotel looks good but doesn’t have any atmosphere. Looking at other reviews it felt like they were trying to improve this with a few shows in the evening which were good, but apart from that hour every day there’s literally nothing else going on. That paired with the poor service from some of the staff meant overall it didn’t feel like a nice place to be. - Preferred Club… we paid extra to be in the preferred club and wish we hadn’t bothered. Again it might be better in peak season with a reserved area for sunbeds etc but this was never checked and most of the sunbeds were empty anyway. The “suite” you have access to was a windowless room full of fruit flies, broken drinks dispensers and donuts no one touched. - Service… the hotel was taken over for 2 days by a convention for a local sales company. We were kicked out of the main restaurant and nightclub while a big group of them partied and seemed to be treated to the service we had been hoping for. They even had a DJ by the pool for them and it was clear the effort the staff went to to make sure they were having a good time. It’s a shame we didn’t have the same experience as paying guests. I’d read some of the mixed reviews before booking and decided to give it the benefit of the doubt but that was a mistake. Overall it was ok but we basically had a very expensive 3* holiday.

THIS HOTEL IS SUPERB,we are well seasoned travellers,and had a few reservations about Secrets Sunny Beach after reading some reports. None of them were justified at all! FOOD ……excellent ROOMS. …..excellent STAFF …… ok SUN-BEDS……. ok PEACE ……. excellent LIFTS!!……. No problem. We are in our 60s, and wanted a relaxing holiday, we were amazed at the cost of the package with Jet 2, as we normally pay much more for Adult Only all inclusive, this time of year( Sept) in other countries. Check-in was quick, and a previous email to the hotel requesting high floor and rooms together gave us rooms 1307/1308 on the top floor. They were Junior Suites, for not much more,and they were massive. They were cleaned daily, and the mini-bar was sporadically topped-up,even though we didn’t use much of it. The view from the balcony was great, and sun was on it most of the day. As mentioned we found every meal choices the four of us made to be of good quality, always hot, and tasty. They do ask men to wear long trousers for dinner, but some ignored ( or couldn’t read) the request. We also didn’t see any flies about inside or outside the hotel area. We were glad we didn’t opt to pay for for the “Preferred Guests Status” ( strange name, don’t they want us??) as the PGs were squashed into a small area in the restaurant, but they did have tablecloths! 😀. Also their PG area for sunbeds outside wasn’t very obvious, and many of us commoners used “their area”! We didn’t use any of the 60 or so hotels sunbeds on the beach , as the pool areas were more convenient for the toilets and refreshments. We visited Nessebar, using the hotels taxi service, and that was worth the visit. We AVOIDED the centre of Sunny Beach, having seen the “ Kiss me quick hat” culture there when dropping off guests at their hotels from the airport. We would have been so disappointed had we stayed in that area. Secrets is far enough away , about a 20 min walk probably, so it was relaxed and peaceful all the time . We took mosquito protection, but didn’t use any. There is a money exchange service in the hotel, but we also were amazed at the proliferation of Cash Machines everywhere in the area! We would definitely recommend this hotel, and would re-visit ourselves. One thing we thought needed addressing was the limited indoor seating to relax/play games in the hotel in the evening. Plugs are the two round pins type. Sauna and Steam rooms are free. Oceana ( fish restaurant) that you can book wasn’t up to much, but the Italian was good.

We travelled from the UK with Jet2, flying from London Stansted. An overall transfer time of around 45 minutes gets you to this hotel in Sveti Vlas on the outskirts of Sunny Beach. About 20 minutes of the transfer time is spent either, dropping off guests, or picking them up. With a speedy check-in, no wristbands, and help with our bags we were soon settled in our room. We had the Preferred Club option which gave us a large suite, in fact a very nice spacious room on the second floor. The main restaurant is the Market Café (level 0, near reception) which opens for Breakfast at 0800 (this is very late in comparison to most hotels we’ve stayed at and too late for us) and for Dinner in the evening it opens at 1830. Lunch is always served at the Barefoot Grill which starts at 1200, and is near the pool on level –1. Toilets are very important but so often not mentioned in reviews. There are three main toilet locations. 1) The main toilets are near the lifts behind reception (level 0). 2) At the Pool (level –1) these are located beneath the main stairs which go from reception down to the pool. 3) On the Beach. Food and Drink is readily available. The Rendezvous Bar in reception along with the Coco Café are open 24/7 and you are able to get food from the Café. Now with regard to drinks, going Preferred Club gives you NO advantage, The drinks that were available in the Club Lounge were no different from what you could get over the Bar. Speaking of the Club Lounge we found it most dispiriting. An enclosed, windowless room, often strewn with dirty plates and glasses, often the fridges were empty or Drink Optics broken. NB. Management take note, This needs more attention from staff members to keep things stocked and looking smart and tidy. At the moment, this is NOT a room to spend much time in. The pools were large and inviting, if a little cold at this time of year. The Jacuzzi was very good and slightly warmer. There is an indoor pool which is heated, if the weather misbehaves. As my wife has reduced mobility and sometimes uses a wheelchair, we always comment of the suitability of the hotel and grounds. This hotel is very good on all counts. Although there are many steps around the property there are also ramps and sloping paths. The lifts will take you down to the pool level (-1) and from there you can access the various pool terraces. There are two paths to choose from. Facing the Sea, the path on the very Right of the pools will take you down to the Pool Bar level whereas the path to very Left will take you to the Preferred Club Area and also down to the beach. Speaking of the Preferred Club Area around the pool, again this is yet another reason to not worry about going Club, this area is probably in the worst spot around the whole pool area. It’s surrounded by bushes and trees and gets very little sun at this time of year, also it’s furthest from the pool bar and toilets. Nearly all the Preferred Club guests (identified by their Orange Towels) were sat together with us on the right-hand side of the top terrace, close to the indoor pool & Spa. This is, by far, a better area to be. There have many comments about the food in other reviews most being fairly negative, however we found the opposite. There was always a massive choice of food, and sometimes it was difficult to choose from so many options. Food was well cooked and hot. We always ate in the Market Café main restaurant, where they held Balkan night, Asian night, Italian night etc, so can’t comment on the other specialty restaurants. Throughout the hotel most signs, menus, food labels and notices were in Bulgarian & English so you knew what’s what, and what’s where. There is a Night Club called Eclipse where the evening entertainment takes place this is on level 0 next to the Club lounge. Overall this hotel is a haven of peace and quiet, it’s Not a party venue. The only music we heard was 1) light music at breakfast, 2) Similar as you walked past the Spa, 3) Around the pool there was the usual thumping music for Aqua Aerobics for 30 minutes and that’s it. Nothing else at all. The staff were very helpful and positive and always engaged with us, only too pleased to try out their English. They are very keen to clear plates off the tables so just make sure to don’t turn your back otherwise your plate will be gone. Many people comment about the lifts. These were a source of frustration to many. Although we were on the second floor it could take 10 minutes to get a lift (there are 4) with 13 floors the lifts are in great demand. If the Preferred Club offering was revamped this could be a good option, but not as it is. We would certainly recommend this hotel for a quiet break.

My partner and I booked what was meant to be a relaxing, premium holiday, but it turned into a deeply distressing and unsafe experience that we feel was entirely unacceptable for a five-star resort and a Jet2 package holiday. Critical Issues 1. End of Season Closure & Misleading Location We were moved from the central Alua Soul to the remote Secrets Hotel. Upon arrival, we were informed that it was the end of the season, and the entire surrounding resort/strip was closed. The hotel felt completely isolated, with no nearby shops, bars, or restaurants operating. * No Warning: At no point during booking or before travel were we warned that the area would be completely shut down. Had we known, we would never have chosen this destination or travel date. * Early Closures: Critical facilities began shutting down while we were still there. The indoor pool heating was turned off on September 30th, and heating in public areas was switched off from October 6th as part of the hotel’s seasonal closure. The on-site shop was packing up and running out of supplies days before our departure. We paid for a full holiday experience; this is unacceptable. 2. Severe Flooding, Unsafe Conditions, and Illness During our stay, the area experienced severe flash floods. While the weather is uncontrollable, the hotel’s response was dangerous and wholly inadequate. * Unsanitary Conditions: The basement level, including the gym, spa, shop, and indoor pool, was flooded with raw sewage for over 48 hours. * Safety Hazards: The lifts were out of service for over 24 hours. Stairways were soaked and unsafe. Guests with mobility issues, including myself, were effectively confined to our rooms. * No Welfare Check: Throughout this time, no hotel staff checked on guests—especially those trapped in their rooms—to see if we needed food, water, or assistance. Guests were left completely on their own. * Widespread Illness: After the indoor pool reopened, my partner used it and became severely unwell. We heard from other guests who also became ill, with concerns raised about sewage contamination in the pool water following the flood. The high number of doctor visits to the hotel confirmed how widespread the illness was. We confined ourselves to our room for the rest of the stay out of fear for our health. * Neglected Debris: After the water receded, thick mud and debris remained around the hotel, creating significant additional safety hazards that were not promptly addressed. 3. Security and Noise Issues The hotel failed to maintain a safe and peaceful environment. * Brawls: On our second night, a violent brawl involving multiple guests broke out in the reception area. The same individuals fought again multiple times over the next two days, and no police were called, suggesting a serious lack of security protocol. * Domestic Violence: We experienced loud and deeply disturbing domestic violence incidents in the room above us during the last two nights of our stay, which were also not adequately addressed by the hotel staff. Other Facility and Service Failures * Overcrowding: Due to the poor weather and limited other options, the main lounge area was constantly overcrowded, leaving nowhere comfortable to relax. * Food Quality & Variety: The food was far below five-star standards, repetitive, and lacked the advertised themed nights (only 2 in 8 days). Options for vegetarians or those with dietary requirements were extremely limited. * Amenities Failure: Guests who paid for Preferred Club status were unable to receive the paid-for amenity of Nespresso coffee and pods, as the hotel ran out of pods on the first day and they were never restocked. Conclusion Our holiday was completely ruined by a combination of misleading information about the resort's operating status, dangerous and unsanitary conditions following the flooding, and a complete failure in duty of care to guests, particularly those with mobility issues. The experience was unsafe, unsanitary, and stressful. This hotel, at this time of year, does not meet the standards of a 5-star resort or a responsible package holiday provider.

After waiting a year for our holiday we were extremely excited to arrive. The hotel is lovely but should be warned not to go in late September, everything had closed and the hotel was obviously windeing down also. A few restaurants were closed and this is something that you should be made aware of before booking. Food was a good variety but cold!! So I hardly ate. We also witnessed fights which wasn’t a good experience although it was quickly dealt with. The weather was horrendous and there’s literally nothing to do other than play cards drink and sit in silence. Very disappointed.

The hotel is located closer to Sveti Vlas than Sunny Beach. We arrived at 2230hrs on Thursday 25th September after 70 minutes on the coach from the airport. ( We were the penultimate drop off. ) Check in was quick and smooth and we were allocated room 717 on the 7th floor. The Market Cafe which normally closes at 21:30 had been kept open for late arrivals and there was a limited amount of food still available. The spacious room contained a 7 foot wide bed which was the most comfortable i’ve ever slept in. The air con worked fine and the shower was excellent. A good size balcony with a view of the pool, the sea, Sunny Beach and across the bay to Nesebar. Food is generally pretty good with a decent choice. We ate mostly in the Market Cafe as The Barefoot Grill closed a couple of days after we arrived. Sandwiches are available all day in the Cocoa Cafe but they looked pretty tired and uninviting. There is entertainment in the Night Club each evening. The comfy settees in the bar area are lovely. The pool although freezing cold is huge and is cleaned daily. Everywhere around the hotel is cleaned to a high standard. The staff are friendly and polite and Google translate comes in handy as Bulgarian is too difficult for us lazy Brits ! I mentioned earlier that the hotel is nearer Sveti Vlas than Sunny Beach. It’s quite a nice stroll along the front to get to Sunny Beach and there is an infrequent bus service which goes all the way around to Nesbar. (The summer timetable ended on the 27th) Nesebar is well worth a visit. Many bars, shops and hotels in Sunny Beach and Sveti Vlas were already closed down for the winter and as the weather this week has been unseasonably cold a lot have shut up shop earlier perhaps than normal. Each day more and more seemed to be closing with signs saying reopening May 2026. To sum up, it was a relaxing week at a lovely hotel despite the weather !

Just returned from a weeks stay. Probably one of the nicest hotels ever stayed in. We found staff very nice, including reception. Meals they catered for all tastes. It was guests who we had problem with, rude and barging about in dining room. We were preferred guests. Never used lounge, but used sun bed area but alas encountered some once again loud guests. I think they should have a quiet zone for people who just want to read and sleep in the sun. Bedroom excellent, bed very large. Strange bathroom with no door! Only grumble was lifts. They need reprogramming as there was no synchronisation. Going in to go down to go back up again!. In dining room need another coffee machine, as huge queues and I only wanted water ti make cup of tea. Perhaps have a hot water machine only installed as it was the making of coffees that took an age. Had a relaxing time.

We upgraded and stayed on the 7th floor the room, super big bed , gorgeous bathroom superb balcony with amazing view of the sea & beach,pool we spent alot of time using the balcony very quite & relaxing sipping wine, guzzling beer. We have stayed in many countries far & near this wowed us, but there are a few niggles Lifts are time wasters stopping every floor Staff sometimes ignore you when having breakfast, dinner, Tea being in the Prefered club didn't feel special, on themed dining Prefered got same table cloths whilst the other guests got nicer coloured cloths making us feel outcasts. The private room for Prefered, wine good one nearly decent whisky, rum vodka little bites, fruit, cakes sandwiches though even coverd were full of fruit flies The room itself very dark not welcoming at all, next door dreams much bigger lighter & welcoming. Smokers have massive area which table seating whilst none smokers get much smaller area not fair as people spent alot of time outside.. Cleaners very attentive areas very clean 👌 We are returning next year as the niggles are our own preferences. Stunning hotel fantastic location.

A wonderful week away from routine in a special 5 star hotel. Immaculate. Rooms superb. Service was excellent. Special mention Bogdan who was our excellent friendly waiter at breakfast and dinner, and to Redjeb on reception. Very helpful staff. Location brilliant - away from the noisy Sunny Beach busy area - tucked up the end of the bay. Beautiful views across the bay. Everything is clean and tidy. Bar service very efficient. Staff work very hard at the hotel cleanliness. Evening entertainment was not really 5 star hotel standard and it was only for 40 minutes at best. Spa facilities amazing. Food just perfect. If you’re looking for a luxury break away from everything - you won’t be disappointed.

Last day in the hotel and I am writing this whilst looking out at the stunning view over the crystal clear warm waters of the Black Sea. We checked in around 10pm and were greeted warmly and offered a welcome drink of Prosseco I had emailed the hotel a couple of times prior to visiting and was always replied to promptly which was very helpful. The hotel is stunning and immaculately clean in all areas. The staff in the restaurants and bars are all helpful and we had prompt service in all areas. The rooms…Wow We had a beautiful room which was huge on the 10th floor with a stunning view over the full bay of Sunny Beach. Fridge stocked daily with water, beer and soft drinks. The biggest bed I have ever seen which was so comfy with the best pillows ever, and I am a picky pillow person. Breakfast selection was extensive and lunch is served in the Italian on the ground floor, this was our favourite. Themed meals for evenings with Italian, Asian and Bulgarian nights. You can book the Al carte also, and this is where we had the issue. You can only book the restaurant on a Saturday with the gentleman in the buffet for the week ahead. We arrived on a Thursday for a week so the restaurants were already fully booked. This disadvantaged us as with us only being there for a week we were unable to make full use of the a la cartes on offer. We did manage to get one reservation for the Oceana which was lovely but couldn’t get any other reservations for any other A la carte in the Dreams or Secrets. This should be addressed as there are 6 restaurants for la carte. A digital app based booking system would make more sense. We got the bus to Nessebar, definitely worth a visit. The bus stop is outside the hotel and cost £1.50 / 3 Lev per person each way. You need to pay in Lev. We walked to the sister hotel The Dreams next door and were not impressed. The difference in cleanliness was immediately apparent on the walk way between the hotels ! It is missing an outside sunny bar to watch the sunset. The pool bar closes at 5pm. This could easily be utilised as an outside seating area for an evening as the views are stunning. The main terrace is in shade from around 4pm. Lifts are also an issue, on our way to check out it took nearly 20 minutes for a lift to stop on our floor that was not full !! Stopping on every floor for no reason. I would return however as the overall experience was lovely.

Certainly not 5 star, extremely uncomfortable bed and pillows. Food cold and monotonous upset tummy on numerous occasions. Sunlougers a joke. Glad to be home to our super comfy bed. Definitely would not recommend or return.

This is a lovely hotel with very good facilities and amazing views from the rooms facing the ocean. The all inclusive food and drink package was very good value . Cleanliness was very good and all members of staff encountered were polite and attentive. The negatives are minor and go down to personal preferences. The shower towels in the room were far too small to dry you. And if you're a brit who likes milk with their tea there was none provided in the room. It was avaible in the main restaurant but the staff when serving drinks found it difficult to serve and provide a decent cuppa. This was our second trip to Bulgaria and again I was overall impressed with the standards. If you are thinking of somewhere nice to go and have a relaxing week with the indulgences of all inclusive then this hotel provides just that.

Fabulous customer service, we arrived after long delays at 2am the receptionist was fantastic, fast and efficient, The hotel’s market cafe was amazing, lots to choose for every breakfast and evening dinner along with a couple of themed nights too, we also ate in the oceana and portofino restaurant which were also very good, lunch at the barefoot restaurant is excellent, the waiting team are fantastic, fast and efficient. The only negative restaurant was the seaside grill on the beach, we went for lunch not realising it’s shared with Dreams hotel and was full of children and very canteen based, and free for all …..plus no wine! served only beer and soft drinks at lunchtime… so hot footed it back to the barefoot cafe which is brilliant. The rooms are clean and the beds so comfortable we didn’t make breakfast many mornings as we were so relaxed and sleepy. I cannot praise the hotel staff enough all very friendly and efficient. The pool area and beach are fabulous along with the pool bar staff…. Always lots of sunbeds available. Morning yoga and pool aerobics were great. The only negative thing I can say is I hated the preferred guest word… it makes it seem that other guests are not wanted…. We were not preferred guests and I did not need the silly extras like the ‘preferred guests lounge’ boring and un inspiring room, the glass of sparkling wine on arrival ( the bar is there and you can get the drink of your choice) the restaurants are open to all guests as long as you book them. It made the hotel look dated and old fashioned making a fuss of ‘ preferred guests’ but I guess it’s the guests who pay extra for very little extras are the uneducated ones. It was a wonderful stay ….. thank you to all the fabulous hotel staff for making my holiday so special.

Start at the front, reception. We arrived in the early hours, were checked in quickly, I think the lady wanted to return to the party in the bar with her colleagues so we got no information on the preferred club amenities that were part of our package. At the other end, they tried to charge us for drinks that the ticket clearly showed were charged to another room. After numerous members of staff tried to work out how to make a 7 look like a 4, they gave up and simply said we won't charge you for those drinks! Good, they weren't ours! Now apology, no acknowledgement they made a mistake, just we'll do you a favour and not charge you for something you didn't have! The room was excellent, huge bed, nice amount of space, decent size bathroom that could be separated from the rest if the suite, safe, table, plenty of seating, a fridge, plenty of storage. Very good. Food, the main restaurant was ok, wide variety, bit lacking in the sweet department. Table servers were prompt and attentive, if they were wearing a blue shirt, the black shirt (obviously a higher rank) seemed to think that rank meant they didn't need to bother with service, but the blue shirts were more than happy to help efficiently. Pool area, loads of beds and umbrellas with fixed tables, the beach towels were generally shabby to in poor repair, as were the umbrellas and the pins to hold them in place were a valuable commodity. You have to join the crowd, and once you find a pin, hang on to it for the duration of your stay. The pool was massive, with a proper length swimming pool to get some serious lengths in. Pool bar and the obligatory geriatric s"x pool made up the facilities. Fridges dotted about kept well stocked with water pop and beer. The bars varied, the main bar was great, delicious drinks, prompt friendly service, the nightclub bar erred towards get as much booze in the glass as you can making some efforts undrinkable. The waitresses on the terrace were excellent. I would love to see their step counts at the end of the night. They never stopped serving or smiling, a credit to the place. The Italian restaurant was very good, good food and service, the seafood restaurant a disappointment, service was terrible, food a let down. The Italian doubled as the lunchtime eatery and was really good, good selection, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, tapas, sushi, great salads. Other amenities: The gym was well equipped, a good shop, and the spa looked really well run and equipped, though we didn't actually use it. The entertainment was sketchy, bit of a throwback to earlier times with a singing act or 2 murdering various songs, a laboured music bingo game one night where we were all praying for someone to win, an acrobatic show that was really random, and a magic show that we skipped all for about an hour a night. There was organised fun during the day by the pool that was always well attended, and the obligatory aqua fit twice a day. The resort of sunny beach is to be experienced, secrets is far enough away that you can pick and choose if and when you want to. I'm very glad not to be closer as a lot of the hotels are. All in all, it was an enjoyable visit and holiday. Reception and some of the service let's them down somewhat, the lack of information on the amenities available to preferred club members disappointing although once we found out for ourselves, the lounge, separate restaurant and poolside areas were nice and the little extras like cold towels, fruit cups etc were appreciated.

We holidayed in Sunny beach for the third time and we wanted to check out secrets resort for friends back home. The hotel is clean The room we booked was a noisy room 304. Room above moving furniture about at 5am.We are both retired and are medically unwell. I'm recovering from Cancer so need a relaxing stay. We are coming back on Saturday for three nights stay to end our holidays off.Hopefully the room will be Quiet 🤫 The Food is really good in the restaurant and the staff are helpful. The food and drink was good and they had a good selection The pool and beach area is large and there are no worries about not getting a sun lounger. The only slight gripe are the lifts but this is not a major issue. If I was in the area gain I would stay here.
