My girlfriend and I visited here in mid October. The transfer by shared coach from the airport took around 90 minutes once all the other drop offs had been completed.
The welcome from the reception team was warm and friendly, with a lovely glass of complementary cava provided whilst we completed check in.
We booked a simple double room and stayed on a bed and breakfast board basis and the cost for a week having joined the ‘World of Hyatt’ program came to just over €1,600 for the week.
We received a free upgrade to a room with a balcony which overlooked ‘Avinguda De Peguera’, which is the main high street of the town. This is the main arterial road through the town and so attracts quite a lot of traffic, but I can’t say that this bothered us too much as the room had double sliding doors which kept out most of the noise.
The rooms are, as previously described by some other reviewers, a little dated. However, they were clean, and well appointed with a TV, kettle, coffee machine and fridge, which contained drinks you could purchase.
The maid service was prompt and efficient every day and the room was kept very clean for us.
Breakfast each morning provided plenty of choice, including cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, continental and cooked items, including an egg/omelette station.
There was even an option to have wine or cava with breakfast at no extra cost.
Fresh orange juice and coffee were brought to the table by the very attentive restaurant staff.
We noticed that the crockery in the restaurant was pretty beaten up. Lots and lots of chips in all the plates and bowls provided. This has been fed back to Karin MARTIN the Guest Experience Manager who took the time to come and speak to us about our time spent at the hotel. 5* hotels should really have a little more attention to detail.
The vast majority of the hotel staff were friendly, engaging and helpful.
We dined out every evening, so cannot comment on the quality of any of the restaurants, but the staff at Olio Restaurant appears to work very hard and came round to guests every morning with small complimentary samples of fresh fruit and other treats.
Karin was kind enough to send us a complimentary bottle of cava for taking the change that time to provide her with some detailed feedback about the hotel, which was a lovely touch. So thank you.
We had a very enjoyable stay here. With a few tweaks, and perhaps a little renovation, this would most certainly be a 5* experience.

Overall, our experience was good, but in several areas, things were not commensurate with the marketing narrative. There were several instances of ‘over-promising’. Most staff were great, but it is always those who are not, who spoil a stay.
We booked a ‘Preferred Club Junior Suite Frontal Sea View with terrace and hot tub’, on an Unlimited Luxury basis –‘Unlimited-Luxury everything is included with your stay’.
On arrival were delighted that our room was ready early. We were advised that all drinks were included, except for champagne.
There was a fabulous view from the room. The room itself was OK. Small bathroom, limited storage, (just a wardrobe with shelves), coffee machine and mini-fridge. Bed was not the most comfortable.
Balcony was good. However, the sunbeds were not as pictured on the website for the room type. Instead of beds with mattresses, the beds were rigid and rock hard. I asked for a mattress to be provided, on more than one occasion and very disappointingly, in spite of there being numerous sunbeds with mattresses throughout the resort, my requests were denied (I do not believe that the hotel does not have any spare sunbed mattresses).
Turndown service only happened once – on other days two bottles of water were delivered to the room before 6pm. Reception staff seemed not to comprehend what a turndown service was. We were spoken down to by male reception staff when we requested the service - made to feel ridiculous for expecting housekeeping to visit the room twice a day. Maybe this definition will assist staff going forward: ‘Turndown service is a service offered that involves readying a guest's room for the night. The service is performed in the evening while guests are out for dinner’. Being chastised by self-important reception staff, was wholly unacceptable. Humiliating guests is never OK. Needless to say, I did not mention it again.
Overall, the 'Preferred Club' was a disappointment. There is no separate check in. The club lounge is more waiting room than lounge - not somewhere to linger. The Preferred Club sundeck is just the bouncy roof of the spa - covered in artificial turf. No drinks service or security. Cabana beds were unused - likely due to the minimum euros 50 charge, even for Unlimited Luxury guests.
Grounds were not well maintained and could be hazardous for the less mobile.
There were great views from the restaurants and bars. There is one main restaurant, World Café, where breakfast and dinner are served. There is a section for ‘Preferred Club’ guests. Breakfast was OK – nothing exceptional. Queues for eggs as there was frequently only one chef on duty. Hard to find unchipped crockery – have never experienced this in any category of hotel.
Dinner at the World Café was not good. On our first evening we expected to choose a bottle of wine from a list. We were shocked to discover that we could not do this as Unlimited Luxury guests. We were reluctantly served a bottle of red, no choice. It was dreadful and I felt insulted that our desire to share a bottle of wine with our meal was met with disapproval and the wine we were given, (not from the wine list), retails at less than euros 5 for a bottle (Clamor, by Raimat). To be fair after raising this the next morning, we were subsequently told that there was a choice of two red wines we could have (the ones available in the Preferred Club lounge). ‘Me and you (Tempranillo)’ and ‘Ederra Crianza (Tempranillo)’. Both of these were drinkable, though not exceptional. Sadly, the ‘Clamor’ wine soon replaced the the ‘Me and you’ in both the World Café and the in the club lounge). We were not expecting to choose any wine off the wine list, but in line with our experiences at other 5 star hotels, expected a choice of decent wines.
In the World Café, food choice was limited unless you were willing to stand and wait for 15 minutes or so (eg if you wanted chicken), while the food cooked. Not 5 star. Crockery was, as at breakfast, chipped.
Fortunately, we only ate at the World Café twice during our stay. Our experience at the Seaside Grill was an altogether different experience. With superb service given by Hardeep, Xisca and Sergio. We were very well looked after – Hardeep going the extra mile. The food was excellent and cooked exactly how we wanted. We were not made to feel greedy or unusual for liking to share a bottle of wine.
Pintxos served excellent tapas style food, but unfortunately lacked atmosphere and comfort. Very uncomfortable stool and bench seating, in a dark and dismal setting.
At lunch time both Olio and the Barefoot Grill provided great food and service. Coco Café was closed throughout our visit. Barracuda bar is part of Olio restaurant. The Sugar Reef bar is part of the Barefoot Grill.
The only bar open in the evening is the Piano Bar/Sky Bar. Great views from the terrace. Excellent service. Decent drinks – recommend the non-alcohol Ipanema.
Entertainment was not very good.
App although useful for menus, was pretty useless otherwise as links etc did not work.
This was not a budget break. We paid a hefty premium for both the Preferred Club and the Unlimited Luxury. Overall, although there were notable highlights – the Seaside Grill and service from most staff - there are improvements needed in many areas to meet the hype and represent value for the price paid.
In the interests of fairness, I emailed the DG after our stay, stating that I had feedback and would welcome his thoughts, prior to me writing my review. I waited a week and received no response.

The hotel very much has its good points and bad points. We spent a week at this hotel in September and booked a deluxe sea view room, we were right at the end of a long corridor, the view was lovely and the room was spotlessly clean along with a very comfortable bed but the wood is very dark and outdated, especially the wardrobe doors and doors into the room and bathroom, this should be addressed and changed when the hotel closes for the winter as it really lets the room down. We passed rooms on the same corridor when the doors were open and the cleaners were inside and we could see some of the rooms had been updated with new light coloured wardrobe doors and it looked so much better. The staff were very mixed, the check in staff just went through the motions, asked for passport, credit card for preauthorised, no real welcome or smiles, we were offered a glass of cava which we accepted but were never given one, training is definitely given in that department. The outside area is nice, pool attendants very helpful but please remove some of the sun loungers, to somewhere else around the gardens, the ones by the pool are almost on top of each other, no privacy at all, the pool restaurant was excellent and Jesus and his staff were so attentive, bringing little treats to us by the pool in the morning and afternoon, fresh fruit, ice lollies a nice touch. We ate in the seaside grill and tapas restaurants, both very good, we ate one night in the world cafe but it wasn’t worth the €60 euros per head, a buffet for all courses, please make sure there are two chefs cooking in the evening the meat and fish and in the morning on the eggs/omelette’s as the wait was crazy and numerous chefs/kitchen staff wandering around not doing anything when one could have jumped on and helped. We are thinking of coming back next year but we’d expect all these points to be dealt with before then as we are certainly not the first to mention all these points.

We arrived at this hotel and first impressions of the foyer were great. We were given a glass of cava and told we had been upgraded. We were helped with our luggage to our room, which was down a flight of stairs that my husband struggled with. This was potentially going to be a problem every time we left the room (no lift to this part of the hotel). Upon entering the room our initial feelings were that is was very small. There was a sea view from a small window, no patio doors. We unpacked and both agreed that the space, the fact that there was no kettle or even a mirror did not represent 5*. The more we tried to place our toiletries and other possessions around the room, the more we knew this wasn’t going to work. The air con was on full and we feel this was masking the smell. The room was musty and damp. Regardless, we tried to make the most of things and proceeded to get ready for dinner. Because my husband had showered and the bathroom was steamed up, I had nowhere to apply my make up. Dinner was a solemn affair because we were both stressed and disappointed that we had paid a fortune for a room that was worse than any other room we had ever stayed in. We asked at reception whether we could move to the deluxe room we had paid for and we were treated by the guy on reception as though we were being a nuisance and he even sighed! He said we would have to return to reception in the morning to ask then. We returned, reluctantly, retired to bed after a long day travelling only to find the smell of the room was now even more noticeable and the bedding was cold and damp! It then got worse. There seemed to be no insulation because the restaurant adjoining our room was very noisy and we could literally hear every word that people were saying. There was also a toilet for this restaurant outside our door and again the noise of the flushing chain, the water system, meant we couldn’t sleep. This room, number 20, should not be given to guests.
So, after breakfast we found ourselves at reception once again. We were told that we could change rooms but that we had to wait until it had been serviced as there were still people in the room. A morning of repacking and hanging around until the room was ready. Not the best way to start a holiday. Still no apology or explanation why we had been given a room of a lower standard than we had paid for.
At lunchtime we were finally in room 243 on the second floor. Much more spacious (which is why I’d chosen it in the first place), spotlessly clean, superb bathroom, tea making facilities, lots of storage and light and airy. The double glazed patio doors kept out every sound on the street and we didn’t once hear any noise from neighbouring rooms. Bliss. The only thing I would say was that I couldn’t hang midi or maxi dresses in the wardrobe as the hanging space wasn’t long enough.
So, for the rest of my review:
We stayed on half board basis. The food was excellent. The quality and the range of choices. Sometimes very busy and not always able to sit on the outside terrace.
The location of the hotel was perfect for us. Right in the middle of the resort and right on the beach. Nearby bus stops to take us to Palma and Andraitx.
The entertainment on the terrace of the Piano Bar was mixed. Saw a couple of excellent acts - The Motown Show and The Jersey Boys Tribute. The rest was mediocre at best. A big shout out to the lovely lady working in the bar. Always so friendly and hard-working.
The grounds and spaces around the hotel are stunning and well maintained. The pool was lovely if you were lucky enough to get a sunbed as most were reserved and no one using them.
As far as we could see there were only two small lifts. Often very busy.
Some other things to note -
Unless you were a VIP guest there were no wine lists or drink menu’s on tables in the restaurant in the evening. We were asked whether we wanted red or white wine and that was that! No idea of what was on offer, or prices.
People staying elsewhere were using the pool which didn’t help those of us who had paid 5* prices get a bed. Anyone not using a hotel pool should be questioned, surely?
The stay felt very first and second class, with areas we couldn’t use because we weren’t part of the Preferred Stay Club. It was noticeable that the staff pandered far more to their needs. I was ignored at reception on one occasion whilst a very well-dressed couple behind me were served first.
All in all I would say we had an enjoyable experience in Paguera and enjoyed Tourist’s Day which was the reason we had booked these dates, having stayed in Peguera four times previously. Too many negatives mean that regrettably we wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. Vastly overpriced and not the 5* experience we have received elsewhere.

This hotel is fabulous, far more grand glamorous than even the photos suggest. The staff cannot do enough for you and are always friendly and attentive.
We arrived quite a few hours before our check in time and were told that our room was ready, which meant no hanging around, we were given a welcome drink too while we checked in.
The hotel is in a great location with the front being in the centre of the town, ideal for shopping, exploring and eating. The beachside entrance is just feet away from the glorious sandy beach. After breakfast you could reserve the best sunbeds on the beach with 20.50 euros for the day. You could easily access the beach while laying on the hotels free sunbeds. The hotel also had many relaxing seating and laying areas, all with great views. The main terrace had chilled entertainment on most evenings, plenty of comfy seating.
The food is excellent with day and evening choices of restaurants. Breakfast is perfect with a very wide choice. The rooms are clean and well serviced.
We would not hesitate to recommend the hotel and will definitely be back, we have searched for years to get so many perfect features all in one place.
Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday as perfect as it was.

Having twice stayed at the Hyatt Hotel in Fuerteventura, my wife and I decided, following recommendation, to give this hotel a try. We stayed for 6 nights, 2 - 8 September 2024, choosing the Unlimited-Luxury® service for a truly inclusive experience that encompasses a select variety of gourmet restaurants, 24-hour room service, and much more, all designed to make your stay unforgettable (taken from their website). We arrived late afternoon and on arrival we were greeted by a porter who assisted with the luggage and guided us to reception. We were led to believe that a glass of bubbly and a towel to freshen up with would greet us on arrival. Not so here. We had to ask for a glass of Cava which was then provided, but no freshening up towel. Prior to leaving home I had prepared a list of questions and as most of them had not been answered during the signing in I began to ask the receptionist. He seemed to be put out that I should be asking, but nonetheless I persevered and received answers. I was surprised to learn that if we wanted breakfast in our room, we would have to pay 10 euros each for the room service. Not the truly inclusive stay we expected.
The porter then showed us to our room. On entering the room, I immediately realised we did not have the frontal sea view that we had booked. The only view we had was of a jungle. Tall trees and overgrown bushes. On stepping onto the balcony, I noticed a number of cigarette ends with accompanying cigarette ash stubbed out on the wall adjoining the next door balcony and I thought this was a non smoking hotel. Obviously not happy I returned with the embarrassed porter to reception where I showed them the photos I had just taken. They too were embarrassed and immediately arranged for an upgraded room on the second floor. Before going to our ‘new’ room I asked for the manager to contact me in the morning as I wished to ensure they were aware of what had happened and take steps to prevent a recurrence. After all, this should not have happened at a 5-star hotel. The ‘new’ room was delightful and exactly what was required. Unfortunately we could not find any welcoming notes advising how to use the TV, telephone and air con. A daily updated list of events would also have been helpful, although there was a scrolling monitor in reception showing the events. There was a security gate from the beach to hotel grounds which required a PIN to release the gate but we were not provided with this. Fortunately, another guest let us back in and provided us with the code. We then went to the buffet restaurant (World Café) for our evening meal which was of an acceptable standard but no more. On returning to our room, we saw we had been given a bottle of Cava in an ice bucket with some local biscuits, even a rose to complete the surprise. This was accompanied with a note of apology from Monika Krejcova the Guest Experience Manager and Antonio Tie her Assistant. We thought that was a pleasant touch and went a long way. The rest of our stay was less eventful but it became apparent that some of the staff were new and inexperienced. The waiting staff at the World Café (breakfast and evening buffet) in particular could be more attentive.
During our stay I was surprised that having used the razor supplied it was removed and not replaced, likewise the bar of soap. Fortunately, I had a razor and bar of soap in my wash bag which I made sure to replace in my bag after use in case they too disappeared. The room was kept very tidy and clean with fresh bottles of water every evening and the mini bar re stocked regularly. Despite being situated on a busy High Street, not shown in the publicity photos, the hotel was incredibly quiet, as was the air conditioning.
The various on-site restaurants served excellent food with good service, especially the Seaside Grill and Pintxos. Interestingly the hotel website claims no reservation required but we were advised to book evening meals, apart from the World Café, in advance, which we did. Lunch at Olios likewise was very pleasant. Coco café was never open during our stay. We never tried the Sugar Reef or Barefoot Grill, being very satisfied with Olios for lunch. The Sky and Piano Bars were a wonderful way to finish off an evening with a brandy, cocktail or coffee. Live entertainment most evenings. We also experienced an enjoyable 2hr boat trip with copious amounts of chilled Cava on the Thursday evening, something we never expected. This was hosted by Antonio, who had helped resolve our initial problems and is someone who should be singled out for his outstanding service throughout our stay.
Despite asking on 2 more occasions, we never did get to speak with the Guest Experience Manager Monika Krejcova or the Director General Alejandro Garrido Sanchev, but hopefully Antonio made them aware and perhaps they will get to read this extensive review. We have given a lot of thought as to how many stars, initially 3 increasing to 4. For a 5-star hotel they need to up their game to compare with the Fuerteventura hotel. Would we stay there again – probably not.

We were brought to our room, beautiful view but the air conditioner was not working properly. .My brother was in the next room and had the same situation. We went back to talk to the concierge and he told us that I'm sorry we do not have any rooms available for today. We will see maybe tomorrow. My brother was able to switch the following day, but .y wife and I had to wait 3 days. To make a long story short,we switched 3 rooms in the 6 days we were there. Two staff members were extremely rude, 1 waiter did not give us the time of day until he found out we were big tippers. I parked my brand new rental at the Hotel and that night when it was brought back to me there was damaged on the passenger side, and the attendant was quickly to say that it was already there.
The place is old, for $700 a night we expected a better experience.
The location is beautiful but not the accommodations nor some of the staff. It's like they are doing you a favor!!

Check-in and front desk services are excellent and the welcoming staff are competent in English,. The public areas are spacious and comfortable. The 1200 check out time is very helpful.
There is a choice of restaurants from buffet to fine dining. It surprised me that a five star hotel closes one of its feature restaurants two days a week but the overall dining service is good quality with excellent service and variety.
Our room (Double de Luxe) was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. The bathroom had a very good supply of toiletries but poorly designed lighting. The shower was large and efficient. The sleep quality was very good thanks to a quiet A/C system. There was more wardrobe and drawer space than most hotels
The Piano Bar and Terrace have live entertainment every evening and is a pleasant area to round off a day.
Those are the positives, but there were some niggles...................there is no mirror in the bedroom apart from one inside the wardrobe door. With the unhelpful lighting in the bathroom, applying make-up was not easy.
The pillows were foam and firm. 5* hotels usually offer a choice of pillows. This one didn't.
There was a coffee machine in the room but, for some reason, only three unmatched coffee pods. There was no facility for making tea.
Sun loungers are plentiful but very close together with not much privacy. In spite of a management request not to "reserve" sunbeds, all the best spots were taken by 9.00a.m.
Would we use this hotel again? Without hesitation!

Not really sure why there are quite a few lower star ratings for this resort. We just got back from our trip to Spain. I am a Hyatt Globalist and if I could be a cheerleader for the Hyatt brand I would be. I have traveled the globe and have not had a negative experience with any of the Hyatt properties in the last few years. From the moment Pablo checked us in, it was apparent that they are well trained in customer service. For me, it was impeccable. Every staff member we had during our stay was eagerly willing to make our stay wonderful. If you're looking for modern rooms, this may not be the place for you. The property became a hotel in the mid 1950's and the decor suits that time period/architecture. While an update/refresh may be necessary in the future, the rooms were still very nice, spacious, super clean, and comfortable. Our view was beautiful. We were in the preferred area and had a semi private lap pool at our disposal. The pool was always cleaned from debris. We ate at the Tapas restaurant at night because the Sea Grill was closed early in the week. Excellent food and service. We also enjoyed the grilled lobster and steak night outside another evening. The only area I didn't quite get was the breakfast preferred area. It really was no different from the regular area. There was a menu with a few extra items to be ordered, but no one approached us in the restaurant to ask if we wanted anything from it on any of the days we were there and the regular brunch was just as good. We loved the beach, the warm water, and felt very relaxed. We would stay there again. The managers, Antonio, as well as Monika, were also very helpful during our stay. The Club lounge was average, but I understand the property will be making some changes to that in the near future. Easy access to the airport as well.

To set the scene we have been to secrets hotels in the caribbean so didn't mind paying a lot of money for this holiday expecting a similar service. Not 5 star. Paid for preferred service. No preferred check in/out. Reception staff on arrival gave the quickest explanation possible then told us to read the QR code. No being shown round/hot towels just half glass of cava. Room was a good size with plenty of storage space, safe was free. Preferred area sun loungers-12 over the spa with fake grass and only 4 sets had canopies. Cushion made of sponge and not clean, no bar service and a long way from pool/toilets/bar. 5 balinese beds cost 50 euro nobody used them.Loose tiles/flags everywhere. Sprinklers set every morning so had to dodge them and the flags. Reception large, seating looked good but uncomfortable. No toilets-nearest were outside or upstairs -they were clean but it seems the gents didn't have a lock on. Preferred lounge -drinks good but no regular tidy up/restock 3 small cafe type tables, bright lights and 4 other chairs. 2 tvs 1 of which was on a wall that faced a fridge so you couldn't watch it unless standing up. Preferred dining area -same space as others separated by small row of plants, same food. Breakfast good and the staff were friendly, evening meal often cold apart from fresh cooked meat/fish. 5 euro for small bottle of water, wine reasonable. Hit and miss with turn down service -given 2 300ml water, no 'little treats'. Most hotels allow preferred guests 1 evening meal in the a la carte restaurant, not this but did offer a session in the spa. Sun beds around the pool so cramped you could hardly get on them and very uncomfortable. Not sure who gives the ratings for the hotel but I'm going to let travel company know. I've run out of words but hopefully you get the idea!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the boat trip, welcome drinks and comp ice creams by the pool.
Food and beverage quality was exceptional, we wish we’d spent more time in the Hotel’s restaurants, we will be back!
Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Went with Preferred Club. Hotel closer to 4* as quite old. As usual money has been spent on the Foyer and public areas. All staff very pleasant and approachable. Supposed to be a dedicated PC check in/out, that didn’t appear to exist. Bedrooms comfortable we had a PC double deluxe frontal sea view, there’s absolutely no difference between the PC room and an ordinary double deluxe frontal sea view except the PC room has a fully stocked minibar which is free. Outside needs some refurb looking very tired and crumbly in areas. The PC have a dedicated sun deck area, not very inviting, only 12 sun beds, 4 umbrellas and 2 tables, not enough, each pair of sun beds should have their own umbrella and table. About 6 Cabanas, which no one uses as they’re so uncomfortable. The PC area should have separate towel station and serviced sun beds as in other Secret resorts. Not here. We gave up and moved to the main pool which was excellent, waiters brought round morning snacks and took drinks orders. Advertise 6 restaurants, in reality only 2 are open for lunch and 2 in the evening. The food though is very good, highly recommended the Seafood Grill which also doubles up as a Pinxtos bar on Monday & Tuesday. The hotel has a fabulous location though approximately 10 yards from a beautiful beach. What I don’t understand is why the hotel doesn’t provide the PC with the privileges that it states on its website, after all we certainly pay for them.

10 day break with my wife
Enjoyed a wonderful time. Fantastic & friendly staff who could not be more helpful. Our room and facilities were excellent. A big thankyou to Monika & her Team for looking after us. The location was also fabulous with exceptional views across the bay. Already looking forward to our next visit.
Nice but improvements needed

We have had very good experiences with Secrets so we booked eight nights half board.
On arrival we were showed to Room 201 which was twin bedded (we booked a double). Unfortunately this reeked of damp (other reviewers have noted damp problems so this is probably an issue in this section of the hotel). We went back to reception who were not particularly cooperative but held our ground and were eventually given Room 007.
This is in the very front section of the hotel under the pool area. It has a good terrace with table and chairs, recliners and a jacuzzi (which we did not use).
The room itself is a good size but was also configured as twin beds. What was impressive was that housekeeping immediately changed this to double albeit the wooden headboards are fixed so not ideal and there is only the one bedside table!
The bathroom consisted of a walk-in shower (excellent), toilet and sink and was extremely small. Several other rooms in this section have similar bathrooms and are much too small for a hotel of this category. Other sections of the hotel have bigger bathrooms.
Toiletries were not replaced either.
The room itself was a bit jaded and needed a freshen up.
Although advertised on their website there was no turndown service, just water and coffee replacement and we would have expected this in a "Five Star" hotel.
Rooms at the front of the hotel overlook the main street of busy Peguera and are probably noisy and it looked like garden rooms had little natural light.
The main pool area is excellent, spotless, the pool good for swimming and paddling and a good temperature. The hotel was obviously not full but there were always plenty of sunbeds both in and out of the shade and they were comfortable. Getting towels was not a problem.
A nice touch was the sorbets, ice creams etc bought round in the morning and afternoon.
Other reviewers have described the Preferred Club area. Best option would be to start again - it is poor to say the least.
The hotel was opened in 1955 and has had two main extensions nicely done. The gardens are lovely and well maintained and the position of the hotel within Peguera is very good both for the shops, restaurants and bars and also the proximity to the sea although there is no private beach area.
Half board meant dinner which is in the World Cafe buffet. The food was excellent and changed each day of the week and there is a short and reasonably priced wine list. One thing we noticed is that a lot of the plates are chipped which is not good.
Breakfast too is very good with a wide choice, we were Preferred Club which also had an A La Carte menu but the buffet itself was excellent.
For a supplement of 25 Euros per person each night we ate twice in the Seaside Grill. This was superb and we met the chef who hails from Peru and knows his stuff.
Of the other food options it seems that the Coco café has been closed for some time.
We don't really go for it but the entertainment on most evenings seemed OK.
Our flight home was at 18:00 so we would ideally have liked a couple of hours late check out. We were offered three hours (too much) for 50Euros but no real flexibility. In the end we took 30 minutes gratis - it was not really worth bothering. Reception staff are unimpressive here and not that friendly.
Secrets Lanzarote has an amazing Guest Relations team, we did not see anything like this and were not really sure who they were and what they do. It was only on our last morning somebody spoke to us only because we were in the same lift!
So overall I would say this is a four star property masquerading as five star. Service needs to be improved and the room modernised.
Would we go back, probably as the good points and the things that tick boxes for us outweigh the problem issues. It would not take that much to be able to upgrade my review to give five stars.

I wish I'd written down all the things i wanted to say in my review as I went along because I can't remember them all now. For us, we absolutely loved it and will be booking to return next year. The service, the staff, the hotel, the food, the spa, the beach front, the location all 5* for us. 3 nights, half board, could have stayed longer. It is everything we wanted and were very grateful to the team for making our stay perfect. See you next year

Third year in a row won’t be back. Paid over £3000 for accommodation only not flights that’s separate amount and see the pictures below of our not so private or acceptable balcony. Our view is a skip and bins and everyone going by looks right in. Just totally awful fora 5 star hotel. Plus I showed my official disabled card and requested a bath to be told none available as hotel full yet two other staff told us it is only 65% full. Don’t take the risk

Over rated and pached up...only for sea view!

We moved from a vey comfortable, perfect, classy 5* hotel in Camp de Mar to Villamil in Peguera. From the first step in the hotel we noticed that some guests were granted with a welcome drink, some others not. We were not. The hotel is an old house that has partly been remodelled. Hard to understand where we are! Not a 5* at all but rather a 3*. Rooms are quite small and bathrooms even more. AC smells and is very noisy. The ONLY good thing is the sea view. The pool is a bit bigger than a jacuzzi, no space on the loungers. The beach is not a private one. This is the rule in Spain and I see NO problems with it. Yet, it should be mentionned on the hotel site. The buffet breakfast is poor and the display very uncomfortable. Products are not first choice, coffee is terrible. The way we are checked at the entrance of the restaurant is very rude. Nothing is done to make us at ease. Daily parking fee is 40€. I shall not be back sorry!

We've just returned from our 13th three-week visit to Villamil and it's good to see that they are trying hard to maintain high standards. Indeed, over the winter a new infinity pool has been installed and for our room a new and modern safe was an improvement. For those who haven't been before, this is a highly recommended hotel for a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle. The central location is excellent with good on-site facilities. The rooms, especially the deluxe seaview ones are very spacious with comfortable large beds. The Seaside restaurant is well worth a visit for an evening of pampering. However, the best part of the hotel comes down to the staff, who are friendly, helpful and eager to please. A special mention needs to be made of Monika, the Guest Experience Manages, who goes out of her way to ensure everyone has a great time. Also, pilates with Thomas is always interesting.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we just kept saying how unreal the entire experience was!! From the room, views, and pool, to the spa, restaurants and location, it was everything we wanted and more! It was our favorite place we’ve ever stayed and we can’t wait to come back one day! Thank you thank you thank you to the amazing staff as well, they refreshed our room with new robes, slippers, and towels every day. They also had champagne in our room awaiting our arrival as well as the night before we left. The location was also incredible, it was in the perfect quiet cove with plenty of restaurants, and only a 20ish minute drive to Palma and about 40 to Deià. 10/10 experience I can’t say enough good things!!!
