Spent 10 days here on a Preferred B&B package which worked pretty well for us. Convenient location for airport and getting around the island by car. Really appreciated the absence of children, quietness, clean, comfortable and generally well-equipped room, lounge access and the fact we could breakfast in the Portofino restaurant rather than the busier World Cafe. We had one dinner at the World Cafe which was ok, but we would not have rushed to dine there again, given the variety of local options available in Puerto Calero just 10 minutes walk away. Didn't really use any of the hotel's facilities (spa etc) other than sunbeds by pool but by afternoon it was sometimes more difficult to find beds with some shelter by the Preferred Club pool than the general one. Thought the nightly entertainment offerings in the reception area with seating all lined up in rows looked a bit holiday-campish. Had to report a couple of issues during our stay; in one area of the complex there was a distinct drain or sewer smell - it got better briefly but was still often evident thereafter and is not what one expects in a 5 star establishment. We also had a plumbing issue on the day we were leaving which wasn't addressed with any urgency. Otherwise, though, the hotel met our needs.

Thank you to everyone, in particular Konte who gave us such a warm welcome and Erika who looked after our room to such a great standard every day. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

We have just spent an amazing week at Secrets despite the rain. The facilities and staff were excellent. Portofino was the only restaurant we didn't enjoy. Special mention has to go to Roman at La Habana. He is outstanding! Also Lula who prepares the sushi to a spectacular level. Oceana...

We have just spent an amazing week at Secrets despite the rain. The facilities and staff were excellent. Portofino was the only restaurant we didn't enjoy. Special mention has to go to Roman at La Habana. He is outstanding! Also Lula who prepares the sushi to a spectacular level. Oceana was a lovely experience with excellent staff. All in all well worth a visit. A short walk takes you to Puerto de Calero with a lovely marina and excellent bars and a superb Indian restaurant. Well done Secrets

It was our third visit and is my third review. It will be a long and mixed one but let me explain. Still no towel station in preferred club pool. Why not? So easy and makes people feel really Preferred because they don’t have to go through a maze of stairs to change a towel. Still no music in the background, it’s lovely that it’s a quiet place to relax but there wasn’t a couple we chatted to that didn’t find it odd and DEAD silent. We could hear each other snore. I am a firm believer that the team make the hotel and we missed Azahar & Edu who are no longer working here and were lovely and obviously memorable. Still, special thanks must go to Isabel, Jorge, Yoel and Luis who we have met already and as previously, they really went the extra mile for us - (impossible to have a favourite but Isabel & Jorge are a different level of customer attentiveness - we’d literally choose our meals on the basis of where they were working that morning/evening). We also seen Ronald and met Romen and these two are hilarious and clearly good at their jobs from customer point of view. I understand now Hyatt bought the place there has been some changes and from customer service on the phone to reception team, you can tell the difference… (this is not a compliment). I think people were in training, I think they were very corporate, I think you should drop the whole “welcome home” line nonsense because unless you actually remember my name and are welcoming me with open arms like Isabel or Jorge then I feel like I’m in US but I don’t want to be in the US. I came to Lanzarote. I’m on a break to be looked after and relax. Don’t be fake, just be welcoming and attentive and smile (receptionists seemed to be constantly under pressure) I had more warmth from housekeeping passing in the corridors. I didn’t feel special till I found chocolates and Cava in the room on arrival but I rang you 48hours before we came to say we are returning and we can’t wait to be there. I do this everywhere I go back to because I don’t like travelling until I get to the destination and I hope for a cosy welcome with room prepped just the way I like it (a bit like coming home, oh the irony isn’t lost on me here! ) You would’ve thought someone will say hello and WELCOME BACK at check-in. No chance. Then we had to change rooms after 2 days (I couldn’t sleep at night let alone in the day) as there was a huge amount of noise nearby (I think you had put us near a storage cupboard with all trolleys going round 24/7), then, in the room with the better view that’s supposed to be a free upgrade as an apology for the noise, the TV/internet wasn’t working, there were loose tiles on the floor in front of the bathroom sink and as this isn’t a party resort and we like our Netflix during siesta, we had engineers in every day twice a day…Still it wasn’t fixed. We couldn’t relax in the room. So things weren’t perfect but whilst you tried to deal with it, it took me a lot of time to solve it on my holiday. Still, you couldn’t fix it. I don’t think you should have a broken lift or an ongoing tv issue in a 5 star hotel. We were there for 6 days and these minor things were not resolved and became something I can remember more than the good meals. I think I’m not being harsh here but I am still thinking if we should return for the 4th time. I am looking to book something last minute now. To provide an explanation: After the first visit, we weren’t sure the food was that great but you have so many restaurants to choose from, we didn’t mind the odd bad meal (tastes are different from person to person so I stopped getting hung up on it) however, you told us you just changed a head chef, and so we gave it a chance, we came back within a couple of months and it improved massively. But 6 days of various maintenance issues after being taken over by a large hotel brand isn’t giving me confidence for good change…Overall I think we will CONSIDER coming back but now I know your brand is changing, I will look at other resorts before deciding (and strangers feedback as always) because you’re not consistent. It’s not like you’ve made it cheaper or better for me because I visited 3 times and I’ve already paid for all inclusive and preferred guest upgrades when I booked the holiday….To finish on a positive note, we think the operatic singers and small band with sax player that were there before are amazing and you also had a new band with a great female singer mainly doing Latino vibes and they were so good! Maybe extend those hours for entertainment? Make it a little more lively?

Writing this review as we are coming to the end of another fantastic stay. The hotel was nearly 💯 full but it didn’t affect the 5star service we always receive from the hard working staff here. Alejandro Borges guest experience manager and his team do a fantastic job looking after every person that stays nothing is to much trouble and always resolve any issues that may arise. We have found the service in piano bar at night fantastic run by Sharon and her team and the cocktails are top quality! The food in Oceana, Portofino & Bluewater grill top notch but our favorite is the world cafe which is self service. We didn’t do the Gohan this time as a few cold nights to be outside. We are preffered guests and the lounge in Oceana for lunch was outstanding. Whether you are prefferd or not it doesn’t alter or reflect how attentive the staff are. We are returning guests at least 3 times a year like many others. Back again in May and can’t wait! Well done once again Secrets home from home!

We stayed at Secrets from February 19th -26th on a ‘Preferred Club ‘ basis and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay . From the first moment of being met by Reception staff and Konte who looked after us and our luggage so well and made us feel very welcome. Our room was spacious, clean , very comfortable and had a lovely sea view . The interior and exterior areas of the hotel are spacious and attractive with plenty of lounging and seating areas . The huge variety of food served was really good , the staff in all restaurants and bars were excellent and all our needs and requests were well met . Lovely Isabel from Salamanca in the Barefoot Grill looked after us particularly well but all staff throughout the hotel including the Spa were friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend a stay at Secrets and we hope to return. Elizabeth and Martin Humphries

Firstly, I would like to thank the staff for all their hard work, which is reflected in most people’s reviews, it’s a lovely hotel, but as many commented, dated, think the last refurb was 2019, when it changed hands, and the whole complex needs updating to be considered a 5*....

Firstly, I would like to thank the staff for all their hard work, which is reflected in most people’s reviews, it’s a lovely hotel, but as many commented, dated, think the last refurb was 2019, when it changed hands, and the whole complex needs updating to be considered a 5*. I noticed people commenting on receiving a glass of Cava on arrival, we have had this in many Tui 4* hotels, so didn’t think it was special. There are plenty of sun beds and plenty of different areas to sunbath, as well as a Preffered guest area, which was quieter & ocean front views. I did noticed from our balcony in the main areas on several mornings, that people were putting their towels out from 7.15am, shame, as some mornings they would get wet, as the weather here for this week has been terrible, but not the hotels fault. lol. The hotel is located 10 minutes walk from the marina, which is really the only place to go other than the hotel, unless you have a car or use public transport. The Marina seems to be a little run down, assuming since COVID, there are very few shops, certainly not how the hotel advertises, as the boutiques shops have gone other than a few, there are several good bars and restaurants, which we used, as we like to support the local economy and there is a supermarket, There is a small fishing village called Playa Quemada about 40 minutes walk from the hotel, bit rocky, wear right shoes, and whether permitting, worth a visit, even just for a wine or coffee, restaurant prices on par with Central London though. People, make sure you check what you get for the price you pay, as we booked a preferred room with sea view, on a HB basis, as didn’t want to over indulge on all day food & drinks, thought with having access to the Preffered Club Lounge, you would at least have access to premium select drinks & snacks as advertised, think again, the club lounge is full with approx. 24 guest, so depending on time, you won’t get a seat, let alone a canapés, the food, if any, was poor, see photos, men, if you like cava, then you’ll be ok, as there is no other alcoholic drinks available in the lounge, not even a bottle of beer, and no music, one TV, never switched on, not even for the rugby. if this is what HB preferred room gives you for the extra money, think again. Spa, as a preferred guest you have access to the spa…but for 1 hour only for the whole week. Maybe I was misled when I booked as we thought, being a Preffered customer we would have access to the other 5 restaurants, but you don’t, well actually you do, but only if you pay an extra 80% to eat in any of the other restaurants, you would have to book an AI package with a Preffered Room to get this. As a Preffered HB customer you only have access to one restaurant on an evening, which is the World Cafe, which is a Buffett self service restaurant. You do have access to have breakfast in another restaurant called Portafino, which is were we had breakfast most days, much more civilised & wonderful staff. The food choice in the World Cafe is varied & good choice, but like most commented on mostly warm not hot. Think the management need to train their staff on cooking hygiene, as I did experience one so called chef adding raw chicken to the grill, but dripping the liquid over and on to allready partly cooked meat being grilled and not washing their hands between handling raw meats and cooked meats. We have stayed in 4* star Tui hotels and had 1 night access to their special dinning, you would think this hotel would give you at least 1 night to one of their other restaurants to experience what else is on offer, as a 5* hotel. I hope this comment helps both the hotel and people thinking on visiting the wonderful 5* Secrets Lanzarote Hotel, as we will not be returning.

It's very nice, clean but we were b&b and they call the customers who are on a package including more "preferred" which seems an odd way of describing customers, everything costs extra, there's area the plebs can't go!. They say it's all inclusive but even if you're a preferred customer, the drinks are only discounted which therefore doesn't mean AI. They describe as "tranquil" but there's nowhere on the site you can get away from the constant euro pop music.

Secrets hotel On arrival reception team very good and nice explaining the hotel layout and a nice cold welcome drink and cold flannel to refresh after a warm journey. We was then taken to our accommodation by the porter named Joseph who was also polite and curtious. First impression of room was ok but on further inspection found the room very tired and in need of refurbishment . The toilet shower room door needs re grouting and various marks on all other painted surfaces and very old fashioned. The pool area was ok but loads of cracks in concrete areas but on the plus side poolside waiters very good and work hard taking your orders so you can just relax. Now on to the buffet restaurant, food very repetitive and not very hot but the staff very good and pleasant. The uniforms of the greeting staff at the restaurants looked like they were straight out of a laundry basket and badly fitted. Breakfast for me was the best meal of the day especially the omelette made to order very big and filling . Now on to the evening entertainment very good to help you go to sleep so didn’t stop too long. The drinks selection on the all inclusive plus was very good including great branded drinks. So on the basis of my review I would say at the most I would give it a 3.5-4.0 star rating definitely not a 5 star.

The staff were brilliant… a very special shout out to Roman and Luli in the sushi bar. They were engaging and provided a first class service every time. The restaurants were very good and provided a good variation of choices. The preferred pool with views of the sea was amazing.

We arrived yesterday Unlimited Luxury, and first impressions are amazing. We received a very warm welcome at reception and a glass of cava, we were early, but we're still able to drink in the PC lounge until check-in. We arrived at the room and were welcomed by a lovely bottle of wine and cheese platter. We had to wait a while for our bags to be delivered to the room. However, once reception were contacted, they were delivered straight away. The suite is spotless and huge. It is very quiet, the staff are amazing and always greet you with a smile. Great start, and so far, I will definitely be returning. I am looking forward to a lovely relaxing break.

Lovely peaceful location on the beachfront with easy walking access (10 mins) to Puerto Calero harbour. We are frequent visitors to the island and have stayed in a number of hotels and this is one of the best. We stayed in a Junior Suite which was a lovely room spacious room and large bathroom. The bed was made up of two large single beds which make it a super king size and means that you are sleeping as if you are in two single beds which isn’t great (although some may like it). We would have preferred a King Size bed but it was a comfy mattress. We were on a B & B basis, and the breakfast was very good. We ate in the Word Buffett restaurant the first night and the food was very good although even with a voucher discount was very expensive compared with the relatively cheap restaurants in the harbour. We also were part of the ‘preferred club’ which was not as good as the version provided by other hotels we have stayed at and I am not sure it’s worth the extra money. The walk to these preferred rooms from reception, the pool area and the front of hotel if you have a car is significant and while it’s great to put a lot of steps on each day it’s annoying if you need to come back to your room for things. The ‘club’ pool area is really no different to the rest of the pool area so no real benefit there. There were a few other things that would make this stay pretty perfect; - Get some larger mugs. Coffee is served in tiny mugs which are also in the rooms. Get some Barista trained staff and offer proper latte’s, cappuccino’s in decent sized mugs. You have the machines I think it’s just a training issue and providing larger mugs which should be easy. Having a coffee bar or similar should be a staple of the resort. It could also sell ice cream?! - The preferred club lounge area is pretty poor compared with other hotels. It’s a small dingy room (others have outside areas) and the choice of drinks and nibbles is limited (no beer or wine, no water). A bit of fruit and some tiny cakes/strange mouthful bites doesn’t really replace nuts/crisps/pretzels etc and no proper coffee machine or fresh milk. - On checking in when you are giving guests information about the hotels it’s probably not best to say ‘here are the rules of the hotel’. I don’t want rules on holiday and I don’t want to hear it on checking in. Totally agree with dress codes btw but I think it can be presented differently. All in I would return as we have had a lovely holiday and the hotel staff were helpful and responsive and we had a quite and relaxing time :-)

Lovely hotel with amazing views. The hotel is situated in Puerto Calero overlooking the sea and mountains/volcanos. Hotel is in a quiet area with a short walk to the marina, which is worth a visit for shops/restaurants and cafes. I would suggest an upgrade on rooms. Initially we had a room overlooking a car park and I didn't feel that the decor was of a good standard. Once moved the rest holiday was amazing as was the room. I want to say a massive 'Thank You' to Isabel from guest relations who was really helpful, understanding and attentive. We found the food to be good with lots of choice everyday. The beds are amazing and so comfortable. Staff are very polite and helpful. The Spa is worth a visit as the pool has lots of hydro massagers and other amenities in the pool area. Check out the relaxation room and chill room with tea/coffee and snacks. Try and do the walk from the hotel across the hills alongside the coastline. Views are so pretty. All in all, really enjoyable and relaxing.

Just returned home after a 6 day stay here. It's not 5 star quality. Usually greeted on arrival at the door, to take luggage, but this doesn't happen here as the reception isn't at the main doors. Check-in was smooth, greeted by a lovely, bubbly man who showed us to our room. The room was ok, again, not 5 stars. We had to ask for a heater as it was so cold in the room. We were originally told they had none as they had run out, so I asked for a duvet instead. But a heater arrived instead! The hotel/pool scene was inviting, but we never laid around the pool as the weather wasn't great. And the pool was cold. We stayed on B&B , and you are shown to a table by the lady on the door, we never knew if we had to ask a waiter for tea/coffee or not. No one came unless I asked them. Then they would deliver the supposedly hot water for the tea, but it was only just warm where it had been sitting on the side for however long! Some mornings there were plenty of eggs sitting on the sides, sometimes there were none, and just one person manning the whole station. Entertainment was shocking. You're lined up like you're in a theatre . It lasts an hour! This hotel is probably geared up for the over 65's! Puerto Calero marina is lovely, with a few restaurants. We went into Playa Blanca one day, which is a really nice place and worth a trip to. I would not return to this hotel.

We are currently at this hotel, due to leave in 2 days. First impressions were good. Reception area is spacious and clean and the pool area is large and also clean. Sadly the weather has been cool, cloudy and very windy which we realise the hotel can’t control!!! On arrival there is nobody at the door to greet you and show you where the reception desk is, it’s set back and not visible from the door. Check in was smooth and a welcome cold flannel and glass of Cava. Room wasn’t ready even though it was about 2pm so we ate first. As previously mentioned in other reviews the walls are thin, we could hear our neighbour snoring!! When showering we had small leak on the floor. Also the toilet roll holder is in the wrong place! It was impossible to use without removing it from the holder. The main restaurant was mainly good. Lunch and dinner you had to wait to be seated and gave your drink order at this time. Frustrating when busy as only one person taking guests to tables so queues would form. Needs more than one person doing this. Plates regularly had to be hunted for. Needs small plates near pastries and breads in the morning to avoid this. Not enough chefs at the grill. Sometimes one or two people manning all areas. The pasta station was a mystery until day 5 as nobody had ever been manning it. We used the grill and Italian al a carte restaurant’s and both were good Also found it strange that no drinking water taps were available to fill your own flasks. Our previous recent trips to other 5* hotels had this as standard. Overall had a good holiday but not 5*. Have stayed in much better hotels with this rating.

First visit to the hotel although we have been to Lanzarote on a few previous occasions. We couldn’t fault anything. Spotlessly clean with a lovely selection of toiletries and a powerful hairdryer. Water provided daily.We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis which was perfect for us as we are not big eaters or drinkers. Having said that we ate at the hotel on 5 nights out of 7. The food in all of the restaurants was tasty and well presented. We particularly enjoyed Oceana on our last night. We only used the large pool in front of the main building. The pool was heated and is beautifully kept as are all the hotel gardens. No problem getting a sun bed, there are loads. Nice bar outside with waiter service to the pools. We particularly enjoyed the spa which we used every afternoon. We purchased a spa pass which was €70 each for the week. The spa has everything you could need. A warm pool with lots of water jets, a wide variety of showers, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room etc. The staff are so lovely in there, particularly Aicha who was so warm and friendly. In fact every staff member we dealt with was the same. They are a credit to the hotel. Thank you for the welcome gift of cava and sweet treats for our anniversary. It was much appreciated.

The massage from Emily was fantastic and made be come away very relaxed and chilled 🙂 I would thoroughly recommend the Spa facilities and in particular the full body massage. The Spa staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble 🙂

Daniel completed the most amazing 70 minute full body massage . He was very professional and helpful . Felt very chilled afterwards ! I’d recommend using the spa facilities and a treatment . The staff are very helpful . Liked the sauna and the cold bucket shower afterwards

We booked Secrets for a 2 week holiday in March (2025) we lasted 4 days before we got a refund and headed somewhere else. This is not a 5 start hotel by any means. When you enter it looks grand and the reception area is nice. When we went to checkin our room wasn’t ready so they said to come back in an hour. That was fine but then Konte the concierge decided to try to show us to our room regardless - took us all up through the hotel with our suitcases only to see that of course our room was not ready. I am pregnant, was tired, hungry and nauseous so my husband gave Konte a tip and said can you ensure the bags are put in our room once it’s been cleaned whilst we go eat. When we returned to reception an hour later our suitcases were in the middle of lobby - even though the room had been cleaned. The room itself was fine but not 5 star. It had a big bed and a big TV. the terrace could have been really nice as we had great sea views but instead of putting glass so you can see uninterrupted views of the sea all you can see is the wooden railing at eve level. They have also left big gaps between each of the rooms so you have no privacy on your balcony and can see other people sitting down - it’s really bizarre. The main lift to our room was out of order the whole time which resulted in us having to use a service lift. It was grubby and again, not a 5 star experience - it reminded me of a run-down block of London council flats. The worst part of the hotel is the food. I cannot describe how disappointing the quality of the food is. I’ve honestly had better food in a Weatherspoons in the UK than the hotel - it was extremely poor. The buffet has a very poor selection and the staff are not attentive. You’ve got to queue to be seated both for breakfast and dinner even when you have their “prestige” upgrade. Breakfast was fine but one morning it took us 20 minutes to be offered a coffee or drink - I had to go and ask someone. The staff were all pleasant enough but they haven’t been trained to 5 star service. The hotel gym was great and very well equipped. The spa looked good but we never tried it. The evening entertainment was the worst I have ever seen. When we complained and asked to leave they offered us to upgrade to all inclusive at more expense to ourselves. The only thing I am grateful for is the fact they agreed to refund us our money and we got to go spend 10 nights in the most gorgeous boutique hotel which we absolutely adored.

First time to Lanzarote and Secrets Lanzarote. Puerto Del Calero a very nice escape with great restaurants only a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the Marina. We stayed for ten days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Good points about the hotel, exceptional staff just brilliant, facilities excellent, pool area excellent, rooms good, breakfast good, pool lunch good, pool drinks slightly expensive compared to surrounding establishments. My advice to the hotel management is to focus on a "quiet approach policy" in the corridors leading to the rooms. I found the noise from the corridor when in the room unacceptable, people talking loudly late at night/early morning, foot noise and the slamming of bedroom doors all created an unbearable noise. Also the room to room noise through the walls was unacceptable. There may be some rooms more isolated which would be quieter so if we went back I'd be checking to ensure I got one of those rooms (we did get changed to a top floor however the corridor noise was still there).

Our lovely experience started the moment we stepped in at the reception. We had lolvely Jose that helped us out with the check in and with upgrading our sevices to preffered club. Then the lovely and welcoming Conte who helped us out with the luggage and offered us also some nice refreshing Cava! All restaurants are lovely. The grill one has a nice steak that you can cook of your desire, the Italian one the soup and the frutti di mare pasta are to die for. At Oceania a vast selection of sea food. Everywhere the portions are so big, if you go for a starter it is very hard to finish also the main course. Rose Cava issoooo yummy. Cocktails in the lobby upstairs are so nice Tiki secrets my favourite! Coco cafe is a nice escape for cakes and not only xx Entertainment... we only saw the Flamenco group. The rest of the evenings we kinda missed it. Very quiet around the pool and not too much noise or music. I would recomment some nice Spanish music in the background. Gym is lovely and you have a lot to work out on. We went to 1h at Spa Circuit . Celine and Aaliah were so lovely and very welcoming. The Sauna and Steam room are so nice. The swimming pool has some strong jacuzzi. Nice small cafe room so you can help yourself to tea and sweets. We had a lovely experience. I cant fault the hotel bar one little thing, the sports bar, maybe a little music , we went here after the entertainment but even though there were a few people there, you could not hear the sports on the tv and a bit of music would be perfect otherwise the most amazing stay and we cannot wait to book again

We arrived at secrets on the 11th April for our wedding Anniversary we were given our room that had an outside area basically in a car park on the ground floor looking at 2 parked cars and a tree ! We went to reception to see if we could get a room change and they told us to come back in an hour. We arrived back and they showed us 3 rooms they could offer us at an extra cost which I thought was crazy bearing in mind we had payed a lot of money for our stay. We had to pay another £350 for a new room it wasent like the hotel was full as there was a lot of empty rooms the hotel is beautiful and everyone is lovely but this has definitely put a dampener on our holiday.

Thankfully, we found Secrets Lanzarote, and from the moment we walked in, Sonia and the team were incredible. Sonia gave us a discount to help after the unexpected costs, upgraded us to a stunning sea view room, and left a beautiful personal welcome message and treats. Every part of our stay was filled with genuine care and warmth. Thank you for turning a stressful start into an unforgettable babymoon — we are so grateful!

From the moment I was first checked in by the ever-friendly Alex I knew I was in for a good time. A special shout out to the ammo girls, Lina & Magda, do not miss your opportunity to spend the afternoon with them - they are amazing. While all the bar staff were fabulous, it would be remiss not to mention two special people in Roman & Danny who can't help but bring a smile to everyone around them (and make fantastic cocktails). Lastly, our trip was bookended by the amazing Konte. His smile and energy is just infectious - I hope to take his positive attitude and friendly nature everywhere I go in life from now on. This is a great place made perfect by its wonderful people.

Had a really nice week in the sunshine. Warm enough for relaxing by the pool in April. Restaurants are ok. Recommend joining the activities. We tried rifle shooting, archery and cocktail making and the animation team were great. Thanks Nina and Magda.

This was our third stay at the hotel and we had an overall pleasant stay, the reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 was the noticeable difference in staff friendliness and service. Our first stay in August 2023 was fantastic, we were given a lovely side sea view room despite booking a standard one, massages at the spa and even complimentary use of a Bali bed which was a lovely surprise as we never ask for things like this. The pool drinks service was frequent and fast and the staff couldn't have been nicer. This prompted us to book another trip and the second time in Jan/Feb 2024 was even better, we had a lovely welcome and despite booking another standard room we were given an amazing front facing ocean view with a large balcony, cava, a lovely note and dessert plate in the room on arrival, and again use of a Bali bed on our last day. Service in all the restaurants and bars fantastic once again and a lovely atmosphere about the resort. Unfortunately this time we felt something was different, we didn't want to rely on another room upgrade so we actually paid extra and booked an ocean view room, and arrived to find it was more of a side sea view as shown in pics, with a very small and shaded balcony. No cava or note or acknowledgement that we were returning guests like last time, and we felt the overall experience 'flat', is the only way to describe it. The main bar at night was quiet and definitely not as lively as the previous two trips(one was the same time of year too so it was nothing to do with this), we felt reception and guest services a lot less upbeat and enthusiastic, and the pool service was almost non existent on some days and we made 90% of our drink orders directly at the bar which wasn't a huge issue but we did wonder why service was different this time, staff shortages maybe? One of the days we ordered drinks via pool bar but this was forgotten about and we had to place them again, this order took a long while to arrive and as way of apology we were given a small plastic glass of crisps, very random. Breakfast was lovely as usual. We ate in the pool bar which was nice, food decent quality(poke bowl and Canarian potatoes), & the sushi bar which was excellent, and a special mention to Romen, lovely guy and very enthusiastic about his job and his staff. We've been all over the world and certainly never expect 'freebies', but we do expect consistency if we return to a specific hotel for the third time due to the service we've previously received, and unfortunately we didn't get that this time.

Thank you SO much! We were offered several welcome drinks! Our porter was a delight, very chatty and friendly. Thank you sir. Our first day here, and it was perfect. We settled into our room, we had a basic double room and it really is beautiful, nothing basic about it at all! It's lovely!!! We explored, had a wonderful lunch, and then a nap - of course! We then had a STUNNING meal at the barefoot grill. Staff here, as in the rest of the hotel, are by far the most customer centric we've ever met. My husband and I, we were over bowled by the experience - thank you. I unfortunately became quite ill last night, nothing to do with the hotel it turned out to be a bad ear infection. I went to the reception as I had no idea how to access a doctor. The receptionist, Camilla, went ABOVE and beyond to assist me. She arranged for a doctor to come to the hotel, explained everything to me very well, kept coming to our table to check on me and in less than 30 mins the doctor had arrived. (Thank you for ordering a handsome one Camilla)! Camilla, this was our first day, and it should have been perfect, and even though I've been poorly, (nothing to do with the hotel), it still has been perfect and THAT is due to YOU. Your absolute kindness and compassion when presented with a customer who needed help,.....you are truly a wonderful human being, and my husband and I thank you, very much. This hotel is beautiful and the staff are phenomenal. Do not listen to negative reviews. We are still here for the rest of the week and we are excited to explore more, speak to and meet more staff and other holidaymakers. Please, do not listen to negative reviews. We had a wonderful time with Magda and Nina at the Mojito Cocktail making class. They were so friendly and made it a fun experience. The class was very well delivered and they created a fun time for all the attendees. We loved the experience! We would highly recommend!

An amazing few days. More than what I had expected. Could not get over how good the service was for an all inclusive. Activities were great. Only thing I would say is to either go full board or just b&b…do not recommend half. Great spot, will definitely be coming back.

The staff on the desk were very friendly. We were welcomed with drinks in a lovely reception hall. Our room was nice and also spacious. We had dinner at the sushi bar - which was excellent. The drinks at the Piano bar later. The staff at both were very busy but lovely and made time to chat with us. Unfortunately, our stay was not all excellent, and we would not class this as a 5 star hotel at all. As the week progressed we met more staff, many of which were rude and unhelpful. The food was very hit and miss. The sushi bar was consistent and delicious. The fish restaurant was generally very good too. The World grill buffet was filled with variety but not always high quality cooking. The Italian restaurant was quite possibly the worst place we have ever eaten in. I was ill on the second day and my partner wanted to bring me something small to the room for breakfast. This was met with HUGE argument and drama whilst other people were strolling out with plates of food. We even saw people making a picnic lunch to take out with them! The team in the spa were lovely, and this place was our saviour for the week. A real sun trap with some lovely areas. However, you could unfortunately smell sewerage when you turned on the pumps in the pool....which put us off. We also enjoyed using the gym on site. The 'preferred' club members were clearly preferred over other guests and it seemed they could do anything, whilst we were penalised for asked for the same things. We met many other guests who had experienced the same problems which was a real shame. The hotel is lovely, very clean and spacious, There are lots of nice areas and many wo0nderful staff. Unfortunately, there are some team members, including the manager, who were so incredibly rude. And the food was very disappointing for the 5 star we had been promised. Whilst the weather and Lanzarote itself were great, we will not return to that hotel and will likely not go to any other hotels as part of the chain either.

As always our experience was top class. Staff always exceed expectations. The spa (Emily) in particular was great! The marina is within walking distance and worth a visit. Thoroughly recommend to couples seeking a well deserved getaway.

We have had the most amazing 6 days here at Secrets, we were All Inclusive and wanted for absolutely nothing. We have found every single member of staff we've had the pleasure of dealing with to be delightful, friendly and super helpful. From our porter on arrival to the bar staff and room maids. They are all a credit to the hotel and represent them perfectly. We arrived to our room and had been gifted with a bottle of cava and a huge slice of chocolate cake, along with a happy birthday note for myself which was a lovely welcome and great touch by the hotel. The food we have had has been amazing, we've had breakfast and lunch in World Cafe, evening meals in Bluewater Grill, Portofino and World Cafe and everything has been fresh, tasty and delicious (and the portions are huge). My personal favourite was the pork in Portofino, slow cooked, rich and beautifully seasoned. The pool areas have plenty of sunbeds and you are given towel vouchers on arrival at the hotel to exchange for your pool towels, returning the towels for your vouchers at the end of your sunbathing/swimming. There is a great bar/restaurant by the pool with drinks service to your loungers from 11am. Food is served in the restaurant from 3pm for none preferred club visitors and is absolutely delicious, the burgers in particular are a must (bring an appetite). We took part in the Mojito making and Sangria making classes which we booked on the hotel app (QR code at check in) and they were great fun. Again the member of staff was lovely and extremely helpful. Our room was stunning, with pool and ocean views. Two large double beds, terrace with seating, great powerful shower and mini bar stocked every day. Beds made and fresh towels daily, along with fresh sheets as and when requested (request card to leave on the bed in the room). Evening entertainment in the Piano bar was lovely. A one hour performance from a different band/act each night was the perfect end to every day along with table service from the extensive bar menu, made for nice relaxing nights. Just a short 10 minute coastal walk from the back of the hotel (down through preferred club through the black gate) is the beautiful marina. Here we visited the market (held on Tuesday and Friday) and took part in the submarine experience, this is fantastic, around 45 minutes under the ocean, watching the sea life whilst commentary is played through headphones, very interesting to hear about the history and shipwrecks. Along the marina there are bars and restaurants a plenty and it is a nice relaxed environment. We particularly liked the Upper Deck bar above the supermarket, good music and great friendly service. We also took the water taxi to Puerto Carmen this was a tad expensive but a nice experience. There are more bars/restaurants here and alot more people, including lots and lots of divers/diving schools. It's been an amazing break and one we will remember for a long long time. Anyone thinking of booking Secrets I highly recommend it, it's quiet, relaxing and a definite change of pace from the hustle of bustle of every day life.

Food options were available and we never had an issues accessing any of the restaurants in the hotel (we went B&B) and a quick walk to the Marina gave more options when we wanted to eat elsewhere. Breakfast was amazing and no need for lunch! We had a late flight home but were able to stay in our room, quite expensive to do so but well worth it as it made our final day much more relaxed. The only negative was we were left with no bottles of water in our room on two consecutive days, mentioned to reception who said they would sort but never did.. for us this wasn’t a major issue but was slightly annoying.

I would definitely recommend going all-inclusive—it adds to the relaxed atmosphere, as there’s no need to book restaurants in advance. The food was excellent across the board. We tried the buffet lunch one day, which was enjoyable, but it didn’t quite compare to the à la carte restaurants, which were top-notch. Cocktails were outstanding—beautifully presented and expertly made. Our room was spacious, spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and we really appreciated being able to use a room to freshen up before our flight home. One small downside is that spa access isn’t included in the stay, which would have been a nice touch. Overall, it was a wonderfully relaxing holiday. As an added bonus, the resort is home to some lovely, well-cared-for cats that roam the grounds—they were a joy to see each day. We would definitely return!
