Lovely Hotel

We recently stayed At the Paihia Beech Resort & Spa in a Studio Poolside room for 3 nights. The hotel is located on the seafront and a short 10 minute walk to restaurants and shops in Paihia. The staff were very helpful on arrival and during our stay. Our room...

Save your money and stay elsewhere

Great view, easy disabled parking, friendly staff but disappointing room. Certainly not value for money. We paid just over $800AUD and although the room was large and the bed comfortable it was certainly not worth $400 per night. Kitchen cupboard doors didn’t close as they were dilapidated, the verandah tiled...

Nice Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay. Our room and deck were large and well-appointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location suited us; close to town for easy access yet far enough away to avoid the congestion and noise. We would definitely stay again.

Decent, but in need of some updating & investment

Comfortable and large room with generous size balcony looking over the Bay. Facilities in room were comprehensive with music system, DVD, microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Beautiful location, opposite the Bay and 10 minute easy walk to Paihia Wharf. The place is in need of a bit of TLC to...

Comfortable stay

Spacious rooms with good amenities. Nice view to the sea and swimming pool. Staff helpful. We ate in the restaurant both nights. Good location, walkable to the ferry to Russell, which is worth visiting. Easy to park in the street by the hotel.

Great base for exploring Bay of Islands.

This was a great hotel to base in for exploring the Bay of Islands. The hotel is really the only nice and well located accommodation in Paihia. We had a lovely large studio with a terrace and kitchenette located on the top (4th floor) with a lift that offered spectacular...

Lovely studio with gorgeous views of the Bay

Great views across the bay from this well appointed studio. Location was great - 5 minutes walk into Paihia and 20 minute walk to Waitangi Treaty Grounds. We used the swimming pool (not heated) and the small warm pools. The terrace was our favourite feature! Big fridge and kitchen facilities...

Great apartment in beautiful location

Lovely apartment in a beautiful location. It had everything we needed: a small kitchen area with cooker and dishwasher, a huge bed at the rear of the building, plenty of storage space, a hairdryer, iron, tv, a balcony with views over the Bay of Islands, plenty of comfortable seating and...

Far from the best option in Paihia.

The hotel is pretty shabby and a few things did not work - fan in bathroom. Not at all good value for money - extra $45 for late checkout. Inclusive breakfast $30, same price at most expensive dish on menue, so at best a 'free' drink! Spa great but would...

Relaxing week away

Lovely relaxing spot handy to everything. Perfect for a relaxing getaway. Beautiful clean salt pool and lovely beach across the road. Room was serviced regularly and staff were friendly. Would definitely return for another holiday stay.

Enjoyable experience

This is a great place to spend a few days. Paihia beach is a nice resort, and we also enjoyed visiting Russell, which is a very short ferry ride away. The staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful. Our suite had a great view over the bay. Thoroughly...

Good but could be great with some modernisation

Agree with other travellers that this is definitely more a 3.5/4* than a 5* resort. Rooms are large but quite dated - especially the bathroom. Quite surprised to see they had won an award for the best spa hotel in NZ during 2023 which could mean we need to reduce...

Brilliant stay!

The whole experience from booking to check out was fantastic. View over the beach, great pool area, and comfy bed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our top floor room had a private balcony overlooking the beach and room amenities were good. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was closed despite having accepted our booking and taken payment

We arrived mid-evening after a long drive to find the hotel was closed and the reception was unmanned. This was surprising having booked and paid for our two night stay over three months in advance using Agoda. We called the hotel number on our booking and we eventually got an...

Great position, let down by disinterested and indifferent reception staff.

After a month travelling throughout both islands of NZ, we booked 3 days at Paihia Beach Resort, as a bit of an indulgence to relax and refresh. On arrival, we missed the entrance to the resort due to cyclone fencing which made it look like a building site. We got...

Lovely hotel, perfectly located and with stunning views over the bay

We stayed for five nights at the end of February. We had a room on the third floor which was spacious and spotlessly clean and overlooking the pool and the sea. The pool was heated so warm enough to bask in. The staff were friendly and helpful. We parked out...

Do not be fooled this is more 2 star and nowhere near 5

Such a disappointing hotel. If you read the reviews and exclude the fabulous spa and those relating to food, you will see many people are saying the same thing!! The place urgently needs refurbishment. There is no manager... that we could find... staff are fed up, cutting corners and uninterested...

Nice cosy resort! Good location!

We spent two nights at Paihia Beach Resort and Hotel. This is a five-star hotel and it was in fair to good condition. The reception desk is staffed between 8am to 9pm. Staff were very helpful. When we got there it was raining and the reception staff had run out...

Disappointing

For the price tag this apartment was not of acceptable quality. Cabinets worn and stained, furniture broken and doors and drawers hanging at odd angles. Parking was basically on the street as insufficient parks and those were for small cars only. The building was dirty and looking at the great...

Visitors from California

Peaceful room with an outstanding view. Lots of activities and dining in walking distance. Bathroom is cramped and shower leaked all over the floor. Had room service with a great dinner. Very nice and helpful ladies at the front desk. Gave us great recommendations for dining and activities

Beautiful 2nd floor view from your balcony or from inside!

We loved this hotel! We had a 2nd-floor room, 203. I wouldn't recommend the first floor if you would like an ocean view and privacy with the curtains wide open. Our room overlooked both the pool and the shore. The configuration of the room makes the view enjoyable, whether you...
