The only occasion in all my history here when I am providing the feedback before we left the hotel. We are staying for one night for a short break in Bergen. Overall quality of the room is allright while the composition of the bathroom is such that you can bash your knees against the door when you seat on the lav….the tv set is on the left from the bed - doesn’t look it is supposed to be really used. The issue that we went back to bar in the hotel after dinner outside. The bar looked very well so we decided to come back. We took a table near the bar - there is no menu on the table and there was nobody in the bar - means no personnel. It was 21-30 at night and there were other people there while definitely very few. We waited for some time with nobody coming over with no avail and I made my move to the bar. One of the barmen showed up and started preparing a cocktail in front of me without even saying a word. I asked where I can see a menu and got pointed to a box with menu in on the bar. Having had a look I was waiting for the barmen to pay any attention for some time with no avail as he was very busy. I checked if he can take an order and got very negative reply. I toon the menu to the reception desk nearby and left the order there with obvious negative comments that we can’t first chase those guys and then got ignored. When the barmen brought our drinks he said he would like to apologize but then started talking to me that he didn’t do anything wrong and moreover accused me of talking to him inappropriately! I asked him to go to the reception desk with me where I explained my concerns and raised a complaint about me being offended. The receptionist on duty was helpless and tried to offer me drinks for free which was very funny. That looked like complete kindergarten when people were trying to argue that bad service is just ok! The final thing - the hotel doesn’t have a formal complaint procedure. This is like from a different planet when a complaint has to be sent to the general manager by email. For record - I refused to accept those drinks for free twice. It’s not about money but attitude!

Stayed for 1 night on a trip through Norway. Such a lovely hotel with lots of thought to its decor and service. The building is beautiful and has been tastefully decorated. The staff are so welcoming and helpful and the breakfast was delicious with both bigger and al à carte...

Our room was clean quiet and comfortable. The staff at the front desk and the restaurant were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. And the location can’t be more convenient. Walking distance to all the highlights but also right by the bus station. Highly recommended.

Beautifully restored hotel. Room was excellent and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was included and plenty of options. Hotel is centrally located and able to walk to all the sites easily. We spent four nights here and it was fantastic - highly recommended.

Excellent hotel, excellent location , staff brilliant room superb couldn’t fault it at all. Breakfast varied and caters for all tastes, hotel staff polite, accommodating, helpful etc. Location was central with lots of restaurants nearby, recommendations from staff proved good.

Our first trip to Bergen, Norway-was hugely influenced by our marvelous stay at the lovely Opus XVI hotel. The location couldn’t have been more central, picturesque and convenient!! Step into the grand entrance with its welcoming sitting areas and twinkling chandeliers..and the first word that springs to mind is- elegance!!...

Step into the grand entrance with its welcoming sitting areas and twinkling chandeliers..and the first word that springs to mind is- elegance!! Our room # 403 was very comfortable ( not much of a view) and the bathroom was very spacious and spotless. Great turn down service and attention to every detail. The staff were extremely attentive, friendly and warm and always ready to help. We stayed 8 nights and loved it there. The building itself is to be marveled at-it used to be a huge elegant bank..and now a stunning hotel. So, once again, thanks to all the staff who made this hotel such a huge success!!

What a lovely hotel. A smart, elegant but relaxed and informal atmosphere. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff. The room was plenty big enough, very well appointed with a lovely comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good. All in all a very pleasant stay. Thank you.

Beautiful hotel. Fantastic central location for us to wander around the city by foot. Hotel room was small but lovely. We had a rear view towards the mountain (could see the viewpoint) it was perfect for us. Breakfast was also good. Had everything we needed and service was great.

We absolutely loved this hotel. It is just so charming - a beautiful historical building in the city center, close to the water, stores, and other attractions. Service was just impeccable from the very moment we arrived until we departed. We loved the personal tea service - a knock on the door and when we opened we had one of the members of the staff with a trolley with small pastries - what a treat! We also loved the breakfast that was a wonderful spread. A fabulous stay at a gorgeous property!

We got a warm welcome and fantastic service at our stay. The room was beautiful, the bed was really comfortable and the breakfast truly enjoyable. We experienced the contact with the staff heartfelt and warm. We recommend a visit at the hotel strongly.

Classic property in an excellent location in Bergen. Close to many attractions. Rooms are nice with turn down service. Very comfortable bed and great breakfast. They had happy hour with a piano player, as well as during breakfast, which added a great ambience to the property.

The Opus XVI is a great hotel in Bergen! I researched hotels in Bergen and the Opus is by far the best option. Elegant rooms that are cozy and the beds, just WOW! You will not believe how COMFORTABLE the beds are. Yes they are THAT GOOD! Rooms also have modern bathrooms including glass showers with heated floors, Also, the location is central but VERY quiet with no street noise! Breakfast is wonderful, although the hours are early 7:30-9:30. Menu and Buffett options available. Beautiful bar and a great specialty drink menu.

This hotel is beautiful. Staff is nice. Breakfast buffet has lots of choices. This is the only place I have heard live piano music at breakfast ( it was a Saturday). The hotel is located in the center of the city so easy to walk to many interesting places.
