My husband and I were at Lalati for 3 nights to start out our honeymoon. We had the best time. The things that stood out to us the most were the amazing staff and the delicious food. The staff was so sweet and friendly, especially Lucy! She made our trip unforgettable! And Bill was so informative about Fiji and its culture during the activities we did.
We booked the beachfront honeymoon suite and it was so spacious and had a very comfortable bed. We loved the private patio on the side which had a small private pool, outdoor shower, and lounge bed.
We booked a private massage and picnic on the beach across the way and it was probably our favorite thing we did whilst there. The beach was stunning and the massage was so relaxing!
On our last night we were lucky enough to get to experience a traditional Fijian dinner, including a kava ceremony. It was an experience we won’t forget! Throughout our whole stay the food was out of this world. During the rest of our honeymoon back on the main island we kept comparing our meals to Lalati and they just did not compare!
We could not recommend Lalati enough if you are looking for a quiet getaway to escape from the real world. Thank you Lalati for making our honeymoon so amazing!

While Lalati is a little tired in places (and more so than you see in the online pictures), it really is a rustic slice of heaven. If you are looking for 5 star luxury you’ll need to look elsewhere but if you are looking for a place to unwind and relax with the option to be more active if your choose then then this is the place for you. The resort was quiet when we were there (2 other couples). The staff are friendly and the location cannot be beaten. Snorkelling out the front is good and you can easily kayak a short distance to take in another reef. Paid snorkelling charters are also available. The room was comfortable and you shouldn’t be put off by the eco toilet. The small air con struggles to keep the room cool. Our ceiling fan did not work. Some villas are quite a walk from the main area but ours was ideally positioned (WFV2). Take your own snacks and a bottle of gin (with tonic) or a few bottles of wine to enjoy on your balcony in the afternoon/evenings. I wouldn’t suggest you waste your time in the day spa. Its OVERPRICED and the staff (while lovely) are not trained. The food was good and varied. The boat ride over and arrival and departure lovely bookends to your stay. Another tip - cheaper to organise your own transfers to and from the jetty.

We have spent 4 nights at Lalati. The resort is beautifully authentic. Staff are amazing and they look after us very well. Oli, the manager is always helpful. Dema and Lucy do amazing massage. Caesar took me out for a great snorkelling just on the opposite island and we spotted 3 sharks. Freddie is very knowledgeable showing us the use of different herbs on the herbal medicine walk. The highlight of the trip was kids from village nearby came to sing Christmas carols for us on Christmas Day and we even had a bit of a dance off. Internet isn’t great here, but it’s great to switch off from the world and relax. One thing to note, bring plenty of mosquitoes repellent and after bite balm.

The food is wonderful, especially when you consider that you're miles from anywhere. You certainly won't go hungry!
We were updated to a honeymoon suite which was wonderful. The bed was very comfy and the room was immensely spacious and really nicely done.
The weather meant that we didn't manage to do much snorkelling but we met some people who went on some of the diving trips and they said it was fantastic.
The one minor drawback I would say is that the resort doesn't have a beach. But this really is a minor thing in an otherwise great place.

We have just returned after a great week of diving and relaxing at Lalati Resort. We went primarily to do the famous Shark Dive of Beqa Lagoon and we weren't disappointed - ticked it off the bucket list :)
The weather wasn't kind to us - quite cold and rained most days, but as we were diving every day it didn't really matter. 2 x dives in the morning, back in time for lunch, followed by a nap and a relax in the afternoon.
From a diver's point of view the resort was perfect. Big roomy dive boats with excellent ladders. Caring and attentive dive guides who looked after us and our gear (including cameras) very well. Hot drinks and cakes between dives. Dive times were flexible - we only needed to turn up when we were ready - everything was done for us.
The staff throughout the resort were absolutely fantastic - helpful and caring. Nothing was too much trouble. Everyone knew our names and we felt like a pampered member of their family. Meals were varied, delicious and generous.
We stayed in an Oceanfront Villa which was huge. Two bedrooms with a lounge area and a large covered verandah, good sized bathroom. Lots of power outlets.
Contrary to some previous reviews, we had no problem at all with insects or bugs (we have more mosquitoes here at home!)
Negatives (and there aren't many) - there is no lovely white sandy beach right in front of the resort. When the tide is out it is stony and muddy and not terribly attractive. There is however a bit of sand around the jetty area, and you can walk or paddle to sandy spots for a swim or snorkel if you wish.
WiFi is unreliable and expensive. If several guests are using it at the same time it is hopeless.
There is not a lot to do in bad weather.
It is advisable to bring your own snacks for between meals if required. The "shop" at the resort doesn't sell anything in the way of food or treats.
Lalati is a beautiful place with beautiful caring people who will embrace you and welcome you into their world of an island paradise. Thank you for a wonderful week.

Fiji relax time...no hurry, no worry!
Very peaceful & relaxing. Staff were amazing & well led by Olly. Caesar was there to ensure we had a great time & Lome cooked plentiful & delicious meals. Couldn’t fault anything & definitely place to go to escape the rat race.
Highly recommend.

I read the negative reviews about Lalati after booking so was quite concerned about what we had gotten ourselves into. However, after our 7 night stay we would be more than happy to stay there again. We didn't want to leave. After re-reading some of the negative reviews i believe some are over-reactions or people who simply can't be pleased. Some issues would have been genuine and it appears Lalati have dealt with these.
The food was great with very tasty & flavoursome options. Two for each sitting and every option on every day was different. No two meals were the same with a fully cooked lunch and then a 3-course dinner. Breakfast options were always eggs poached, fried or scrambled and another option such as pancakes or french toast as well as the usual offerings of cereal, breads, juices, yogurt and fresh tropical fruits.
Rooms were large and spacious, cleaned and checked twice a day. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed we've had for any holiday and 2 pillows provided (soft and medium). I have neck issues and did not wake up sore which was such a relief. The only issue i had with the room was the gap above the front sliding doors to the deck which let too much wind through during times of high winds - otherwise it wasn't an issue. This was mainly because its a 3-panel sliding door system to open the front up completely to a deck overlooking the water with the mainland in the distance. Incredible views from the villa (we were in HMV4). Each room is a free-standing construction with good space between each room. The private outdoor shower in the Honeymoon Villa was so great. It used hot water and we used it every night as it was always warm enough outside even late at night.
The scenery at Lalati is spectacular and unforgettable. Unfortunately when the tide goes out it reveals patches of muddy sand with only a few spots of real beach. When the tide is in there is no beach but the scene is beautiful and relaxing. Lalati have made an effort though to create a large sand area in front of the swimming pool next to the water so you don't miss out regardless of the tide levels. You can still go for a comfortable swim as well. There is a beautiful beach across the lagoon which you can be boated to or can Kayak to.
The staff are wonderful, very friendly, helpful and do everything they can to make your stay a great one. There was a lot of fun & laughter between the staff and guests. Fijians are very family orientated and treat their guests like family. Thank you so much to Ollie, Lucy, Tama, Sisa, Kula, Morrie, Lomi, Bill, Oscar, Mickey and everyone else whose names we can't remember. Leaving them was truly a sad day for us.
Some of the activities included visiting the local Lalati Village and one of the primary schools which showed us the real Fiji. Take some Fijian dollars with you to the villages as the ladies sell handmade items to sell as part of their income. Snorkelling was fantastic as well as the guided Kayak trip down the Beqa Lagoon around Bat Island and into the Mangroves. We also took a day trip to Suva.
We felt that the alcohol prices were a little steep, particularly during happy hour when it was only a $2 discount on all cocktails rather than a heavy discount on selected drinks accross the range like we are used to in Australia. However, there was a large selection of cocktails, spirits, about 7 beers and we had great times around the bar with other guests and staff.
Overall this was a holiday we will never forget for all the right reasons and highly recommend Lalati. We'll be back for sure!

Beautiful experience. The staff are now like family. They welcomed us with open arms to their resort and villages. I enjoyed the scenery, learning about the culture, and the activities Lalati offered. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Define luxury. Is it travelling to a remote island at night with little fish jumping out of the water in the boat's wake, looking like stars? Arriving to an especialy warm welcome from staff who kept a meal for you, even though arriving late? Going to the villa with a four poster bed with mosquito nets, finding the villa clean, well-kept and a bonus private outdoor shower - and your outdoor area which is approx 5m from the gentle water lapping the shores where the most amazing sunrises are viewed. Or, the menu, with at least two or more choices for each meal and a chef who knows flavours! Perhaps it is some of the brightest and best coral you will ever see either with a guide or on kayaks, paddle boards, or a quick swim under the pier! Maybe it is the visit to a local village, where you are welcomed and witness ceremonial fire-walking and kava. It could be the serenity of approx a dozen guests, no phones or TV - you can pay for wifi if you really need to!
This was my idea of luxury for our much needed recent holiday. The staff were warm, welcoming and catered to our needs with friendly smiles and cheerful banter. Whilst we took our own alcohol, we did indulge in drinks from the bar, tea was offered in the Villa, coffee was also provided when requested. We took insect repellent (a must), but it was also provided. When our flight was cancelled and we were unsure of the new arrangements, professional assistance was provided, with the manager conversing with the airline for over an hour trying to find out what was happening with the flights - for this I will be eternally grateful.
Thank you Lalati, the five nights will always be remembered. Your relaxing resort was a secluded haven and your staff are amazing. Vinaka!

Thank you to all the Lalati Resort team who made our stay such a wonderful, Memorable experience.
The personal touches throughout our stay were so special, made us feel welcomed, relaxed and very much at home.
We really enjoyed your friendship and interaction which will continue after our stay.
All staff have a very real and genuine desire to make your stay special, welcome you and allow all guests to experience &enjoy your beautiful Fijian way of life.
Yes the Resort has a real unique charm, not 5 star but could not find fault with any aspect, of our wonderful stay.
The whole Resort is very well maintained with beautiful gardens and surroundings and staff are more than happy to accommodate guest's varying needs in a beautiful manner, even down to escorted day trips to the mainland, we had the best day thanks to Edwin & Luse.
The Villas are very clean, roomy and extremely comfortable, all are right on the waters edge and have great views of the bay and beyond, serviced daily and with a special touch of amazing freshly picked flowers.
Amazing fresh food was prepared daily by chef Emori and his team, all the special personal touches were very enjoyable and much appreciated.
The Karva and Lovo experience was truly just another one of our great Fiji experiences, from Relaxing on our deck, lazing in the pool or Cocktails at the great Bar area taking in the fantastic views made our stay even more special.
Whilst it is nearly a 3hr drive from Nadi airport and a 45 min boat ride it was certainly worth making the trip for a truly wonderful stay. Even the drive to and from which was arranged by the resort through Crusoe tours was an enjoyable experience. Our driver Rakesh was fantastic and made sure we had a comfortable drive, interspersed with information and relaxed atmosphere.
We look forward to returning again one day to experience another wonderful holiday and to see the progress on this amazing resort, as the new owner Chris has some special plans to make it even more special for all guests.
Again our sincere thanks for your wonderful hospitality and just beautiful Fijian experience.

The most friendly resort team with fantastic service throughout. I cannot rate the team highly enough and they made huge efforts to make my fiance's 30th birthday perfect.
The resort has a lovely bar and restaurant area, with views of the water and coconut trees. It's so easy to spend time relaxing with a beer or coffee at the bar or at the pool area. When we felt like getting out, Caesar and the team were always available and would help load the kayaks and provide snorkel gear (the snorkelling is out of this world, whether you dive in right at the resort waterfront or go 5 mins by boat to other great dive sites). For a more relaxing option, directly across from the resort is a lovely beach for chilling, swimming and we enjoyed a couple's picnic, complete with hamper and bottle of wine.
Our room (honeymoon villa) was really nice with some nice touches, including a great indoor and outdoor rainfall shower.
Food was also of a very high standard, freshly made for all meals. Breakfast includes cereals, fruits, toast, muffins plus a choice of hot breakfast. Lunch and dinners offered good variety with some lovely seafood, freshly caught.
It's impossible to find fault with the staff and the resort has a real charm to it, giving us a great first taste of Fiji. It is a paradise and would be hard to find faults. Even our driver Rakesh from Crusoe tours deserves a mention as he was punctual, knowledgeable and friendly. The drive is a bit over 2 hours but he made it enjoyable.
In my opinion, this is a perfect resort if you want to unwind and have a traditional experience. It's not a carbon copy resort or ultra modern but facilities are good. It's missing a beach for walking along (right on the waterfront)and when the tide is out, it can look a little rocky but there are several lovely little sandy beaches you can kayak to or ask to be dropped by boat.
