Good hotel but lots in that price range to choose from.

We returned to this resort because we enjoyed our last visit so much.
They are building at the hotel and the noise in the Andaman rooms section is dreadful. After hours we complained to reception. They apologised and moved us. We felt like we had wasted hours on the first day. Why send people to those rooms with that racket.?
I guess the hotel is back to full capacity after Covid and it was so busy. The usual crowd placing their towels on beds in the early hours.
Breakfast is excellent, lots of choice and plentiful. Staff very attentive.
Showers were hot and clean towels each day.
The buffet meals at the restaurant are great value as the food is good quality and lots of choice.
The massage ladies were very good and it was very relaxing in the gardens and sunshine.
We have stayed at The Shore, Katathani Phuket few times and the Little Shore in Khao Lak, all the same chain. Unlike other chains there is never a welcome back or any acknowledgment of the thousands spent. Lots of choice in that price range, time to move on methinks!

I come back to Katathani every year; a very confortable hotel located in the best zone of Phuket! The most important thing to notice: the hotel is far from the bustle of Kata center! In front of the hotel you can find a very equipped diving center.
Perfect resort for a Phuket vacation!

Katathani beach Resort is a lovely place to enjoy the beaches of Phuket. Starting here you are just steps from a gorgeous beach suitable for all ages. There are pools for adults only & for families with children. There are many restaurants to chose from or you can step out of the lobby onto the street to eat at local restaurants. The staff are so friendly and helpful! The rooms are spacious & comfortable. The food is delicious. Fresh fish abounds or you can have a five star Italian meal at La Scala. Book early as the place fills up. Also be prepared for a 2-3hr commute from the airport. It’s worth it to stay at this amazing resort!

You absolutely won't be disappointed with the Katathani Beach Resort Hotel

Beachfront location, several pools, one being an adults only pool, no blaring music, just peace and quiet.
The room we're in is absolutely amazing. A Grand Suite with pool and beach views. We even have views of the Japanese Garden on approaching our room.
The food has been lovely, including breakfast, with plenty of choices to eat.
All the staff are absolutely lovely, but Khonkanok (also known as Pam) at the Mango Bar, gets a particular mention! What an absolutely lovely lady. She's constantly making sure everyone is OK. She chats to the customers and is extremely good at her job. The world needs more people in it like Khonkanok (Pam). She's an absolute asset to the Katathani Beach Resort Hotel.
Just one niggle (sorry), sunbeds! People placing towels very early in the morning on sunbeds then disappearing for the day. Although there are plenty of sunbeds, the shaded ones get reserved with a towel. In fact, we've witness people having 3 sunbeds each! One in the sun, one in the shade and one between the 2. Perhaps keep an eye on this and place a timed marker on empty sunbeds and, if no return, remove towels from sunbeds in order that others can make use of them.
But would we come back? ABSOLUTELY YES.

I want to say a massive Thank you and your team for everything. The day was absolutely perfect and everything was exactly how we wanted it. The wedding team made everything run so smoothly on the day and the venue was so beautiful. I sent photos of what I’d like in terms of flowers, set up etc and everything was as I pictured and every request I had was met with ease. You were all so helpful and attentive to what we wanted throughout the whole planning process and made everything perfect for the day! Thank you for making it such an amazing day and for making it what we wanted. We truely appreciate it!

Our KU0NI/GO VACATIONS REP, NOO, had explained to the Katathani Resort about our reason for the holiday but, something got Lost in translation as when we arrived everyone was wishing us a happy honeymoon. We explained the honeymoon was 50 years ago and that was the reason for the holiday.
This resort has 6 swimming pools and one is for adults only
It has a good assortment of dining halls with a wide choice of dishes.
A fitness suite and sauna, a childrens water play area, a spa, plenty of Thai Massage stations to relieve your stresses makes for a peaceful holiday
There is also a local supermarket across the road from the hotel along with small shops and restaurants
Kata thani in a large resort so it never feels crowded
Take a local taxi to Kata and stroll through the markets a simple local taxi for 200 baht each way and it's a bit of an experience.
We were booked into a junior suite with the Sea View it was a little old and could do with an update but still manageable
A small card left on the bed asked if the pillows were too soft or too hard or the mattress was too hot soft or too hard you could have it changed we found the mattress far too soft and ask the to have it changed it was done very quickly

A lot of people ready my reviews given i'm direct with the information to which i hope helps with your decision. The Resort itself is in a quiet and ideal suburb near the busy Kata St markets and resorts. You have an amazing beach access and beautiful lawns and great food options close by. We stayed in the apartments across from the beach which was quieter and suitable but our preference would be on the ocean front rooms. There very comfortable, excellent bedding and great service. Far better than anything we have experienced in Kata or Patong. If your a couple or family wanting a clean ocean and great pools then this is the destination.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Sands. We were at the seaside apartments with seaview. The room was lovely and kept immaculate by Bow. We spent two weeks meeting with other family from Australia. Everything was lovely and whatever food we ate was perfect, beautiful breakfast, lots of variety and they have a separate adults only dining area We had room service a few times which was speedy and good. We did not find the resort overly expensive. There are plenty of external bars and restaurants close by.Every member of staff were so helpful and smiley. Our stand out staff member was Pui Pui who acknowledged us every time we seen her, knew our names, the rooms we were in and when we were leaving. She was so genuinely welcoming and caring. We will be back. We were room 1305 and some of the pictures are the view from our balcony.

GORGEOUS resort. 6 nights here was just phenomenal. Stunning beach, grounds, pools ... everything was perfect. The buffet breakfast was our favourite meal of the day-great coffee, eggs cooked every way you can imagine. Lots of savoury & sweet options. My partner loved the crispy bacon. Waffles & custard pastries were delicious. Lots of juices - Lychee was our favourite. View of the beach at breakfast was heaven. Our room was spacious enough for two. Bed was quite firm but mattress toppers were arranged promptly. Evening buffets were interesting... perhaps could have more 'Thai' selections..eg curries, pad Thai, noodles.... the fresh fruit was beautiful, especially papaya. The pools were gorgeous & we always managed a lounge with umbrella shade. Cocktails yum - pina coladas & mojitos especially. The Day Spa was expensive & we didn't see anyone go there.
Just outside resort next to 711 is a massage place called 'Friendly Massage' which is air-conditioned and had two amazing massages for 500 Baht (approx $23 Aud). They also did our laundry for us which came back pressed & smelling great. Bottled water was refilled in our room daily, as were fresh towels. Fresh pool towels were also delivered to our room every afternoon. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We used the Grab ap to book transport which was easy. Ventured out to Naka night market & picked up some bargains... lots of Air Jordan, Nike, Gucci, Chanel type clothes/accessories. Saw fried insects at food stalls including scorpions. Jungceylon shopping mall in Patong was great. We exchanged Aud to Baht on the street currency exchange no issues. First trip to Thailand but not our last... we will miss strolling through the beautiful Katathani resort ... especially in the evening after dinner when all the trees are lit with fairy lights. Cannot wait to visit again.

We loved our time at Katathani.
Our sea view Thani Junior Suite Room was amazing, with lovely decor and very comfortable. It was cleaned really well. Fresh water everyday and pool towels.
The staff were helpful and friendly during our stay: security guards, receptions restaurant staff, everyone.
We were half board for 2 weeks and there are so many restaurants with different cuisines, we never got bored of the food. And it's great they let you swap dinner for lunch too, in case there are places outside the hotel you'd like to try for dinner one day etc. Breakfast was great everyday with dishes being replenished quickly.
The grounds are immaculate and the staff work tirelessly to keep them that way. The pools are great, we really appreciated the adults only pool for some quiet time as there are a lot of children at a resort so large.
Service for lunch by the pool or drinks was great too, with food arriving promptly.
The beach is great, you couldn't ask for the hotel to be in a better location. Additionally the hotel puts warning signs up if there are a lot of sea urchins or similar that are present in the water that day which is great. I saw a woman who had been injured by something on the beach and the security guard called the lifeguard who brought a med kit quickly to help her. It's also great security guards ensure only guests have access from the beach to the resort grounds.
The garden massages are a real win, so reasonably priced and a lovely unique positive to people's holidays. Special shout out to one of the Thai Garden massage ladies; unfortunately I didn't get her name but she's 58 and the only one with short spikey black hair, she was amazing and her customer service can't be beaten.
I read a lot of reviews about sewage smells etc and was worried before we went but this was my opinion: its a hot humid country with storm drains. Anyone whos been to similar will know that these smells are unavoidable. The Thani wing sits right on the beach front, so it gets the breeze and we barely smelt it. However, as soon as you step onto the road outside of the hotel which serperates the Thani wing from the Bhuri wing, that's where the storm drains are and the smell. Therefore the Bhuri wing probably experiences it a lot more because it also gets less of the fresh sea breeze as its situated further back. I'd highly recommend going for the Thani wing.
Another point to note is the hotel is currently constructing a massive additional centre behind the resort. It's causing noise and disruption which can't be avoided but we appreciate the hotel didn't start the loud work until the official low season which was 01 April. It also wasn't constant. Half an hour every so often. But one to be aware of, as the project will go on for some time due to the size of it.
If I had a few minor points as feedback for the hotel is would be:
Dinner at Chom Talay (buffet option) could be improved, it wasn't great.
Smoking around the pool needs to be better policed; I understand there are signs but people ignore them.
It's disappointing the hotel advertises FantaSea, a show where they use elephants as part of the entertainmet, which are most likely abused during the training process. Advertising Phuket Elephant Sanctuary would be much better, and would probably sit better with a lot of guests.
I'd recommend advertising which bars/restaurants have entertainment on which nights, as the resort is so large it's only if you come across it that you're made aware and it would lead to more people going there and more of an atmosphere.
I observed a receptionist playing games on her computer during the day at the Bhuri wing, which maybe isn't the impression the hotel wants to give to guests.
Every receipt has a tip line, which I think is misleading when there is already a 10% service charge automatically added to all catering bills (including drinks delivery at the pool). Might be worth making this more clear.
Overall a fantastic hotel, which gave us an amazing holiday.

The only thing I would give our stay 5 stars for 12 nights in a sea facing Junior Suite would be for the staff. They were the ones who made our holiday. just love them all.

A great holiday resort, especially for children
Extremely well organised and friendly and a wonderful holiday for children. Spotlessly clean. Staff so friendly. Extensive well cooked breakfast. Right on the beach. Comfortable rooms. So many pools, and many restaurants of different cuisines.
This was our second trip to this fantastic resort. The Pool Access room is just beautiful and the staff are perfect. Such an huge variety of international cuisine available at 6 restaurants. Already booked for same time next year. It really is a home away from home for us.
Great location amazing staff

The hotel grounds are vast allowing and the location to the beach is great. There are family pools and pools for adults depending on what you like. We prefer the beach so spent the days there, it cost 100 Bart per sun bed (£2), and there are little beach shops offering a massage, snacks and drinks all day. 120 Bart (£2.80) for a large bottle of beer (Chang others available).
Taxi service out the front of reception and local tuktuks 5 minute walk away.
Room service available for food or there are 4-5 restaurants you can choose from. We are at two of them and easily charged it to the room, great food and great value.
7/11 shop next door for essentials and some nice restaurants along the street attached.
When I return to Thailand 🇹🇭 I would definitely come here rooms l lovely, we arranged for James Bond toor pick up and drop off from the hotel.
Thanks to all the staff that made our trip memorable.
Dave and Lucy ❤️❤️❤️

Our Home Away From Home – Katathani Phuket Beach Resort
We’ve just returned from our 4th visit to Katathani Phuket Beach Resort after spending an incredible 25 nights in a Thani Junior Suite – and once again, it was absolutely perfect. There is nowhere else we would rather be. Katathani has truly become our second home.
We’ve already booked 28 nights for next year, and we’re so excited to be bringing my sister and brother-in-law along to experience the magic with us.
There is not a single thing we can fault – from the beautiful beachfront and relaxing atmosphere to the spacious rooms and outstanding facilities. But what really sets this resort apart is the staff. They are the most beautiful people – warm, welcoming, and always going above and beyond. Some of them are like family to us now.
A special thank you to our dear friends Aip (lifeguard), Thomas and Sit (security), the lovely King and New at the Melon shop, and the always wonderful Pla and Chart, who greet us with smiles and make sure we’re happy every single day. We would like to thank you all for making our stay so memorable every year!!
Katathani is more than just a resort it's truly MAGICAL!! Simply stunning, peaceful, luxurious and filled with heart. We miss it already and can’t wait to return!

This resort is absolutely beautiful. There are so many restaurants we found it hard to leave the resort. Everything you need is here and with a 7/11 right by the resort, you felt like you never needed to leave the area. My partner and I came here, we do not have kids however found that the resort is so large that it was never an issue for us.
All the pools are great, there is always a lounger available regardless of how busy it is.
The staff here are so amazing. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. We never found that we left reception or the phone call with them unsure about anything. Also the sunsets, omg, get a table at the fishermans wharf for 6pm! Or just enjoy an evening on the beach, it is so worth it!
We cannot recommend this place anymore and will certainly be returning!

We arrived in the evening at the resort and we booked a swim up room. Unfortunatly we got a swim up room which is for families with children because in front of the terrace was a glass fence. We complained and had to wait until the next day at 2 pm to change the room. The swim up rooms are really nice but there are many families with children so sometimes it can be very loud. We had to inform the reception to clean the pool from flies.
The room itself was okay. We were missing a coffee machine that should be there in a 5 star hotel. The cleaning woman did an excellent job. The changing of towels was no problem and there were 4 water bottles every day.
The breakfast was really good except the pan cakes that were made by a pancake machine and they did not taste good. About 9 am there were a lot of people and with children so it was very busy.
You have to pay 200 baht for two sun loungers and an old umbrella on the beach very day. But there are a lot of them in the garden only some steps away from the beach. Sea wasn't as clean as for example in other parts of Thailand.
We thought the beach would be as shown on the pictures without sun loungers but that did not happen. You find there some vendors with drinks and broken chairs and plastic and so on next to them. This doesn't look nice.
The resort is a big one where you can walk from one end to the other. You find there also some pools and one of them is an adult only pool. You get the best coktails at the Coconut Bar. We booked an excursion to Phuket and surrounding at the reception. It was very good organised and worth every baht.
For dinner you find there about 8 restaurants in Kata Noi. We tested the Ta restaurant, the Blue Shark, the Orchid, the Non Kron and the Seafood Restaurant. Pay attention when you eat at the Seafood Restaurant because you have to pay service charge. We never had to pay it in Thailand!
Once we went by Tuk Tuk to Kata Beach and ate there a red snapper with garlic. Yummy! You pay for the taxi 200 baht one way. Kata is not so quiet as Kata Noi but there is a night market where you can eat a lot of Thai food.
All over it was a relaxing stay.

We are experienced Thailand visitors having been coming to Thailand for at least 35 times. The renovated room 1312 is beautiful and clean with lovely views. The grounds are beautiful slab. However I would never choose to stay here again as I as m absolutely astounded that for a room of this standard has NO coffee machine. This inclusion is normal now and had I known this I would never have booked. We were so disappointed and flat.
I get up early and enjoy coffee as I work and study and contemplate the view. Nd my day and s good coffee is such a joy. I ordered it at 6am and it didn’t come from room service until 7.19. It asked my husband, I have to open the door and sign so early in the morning. Just irritating when we should be relaxing. As well it isn’t cheap on room service.
I just don’t know how this was overlooked during the renovation. A couple of sticks of instant coffee and a kettle just doesn’t cut it!

This was our 7th stay; 6th in the last 12 years. Despite the ongoing improvement works this was once again a most relaxing experience. We again stayed in a Grand Suite room, perfectly arranged to provide comfort and relaxation. The improvements are worthwhile as it means the hotel is being cared for, ensuring great stays in the future. This approach is also reflected in ALL of the staff here. While there is a ‘Star’ employee survey it is impossible to isolate one exceptional person, whether in the Coconut Bar, Fisherman’s Wharf, the Melon Mart, Reception, room cleaning, security or the Gym. However, some notables are worthy of recognition. Chart and Toy looked after us in breakfast until Anna hurt her leg. Nevertheless, with Pla’s personal help compensatory measures were taken which offered to alleviate a temporary mobility issue. Daily coffee was enjoyed from Ice in the Melon Mart, and while Ton made fantastic martinis in the Coconut Bar, Bay was on hand to serve. Finally, although temporarily employed elsewhere, our great friend Serm was on hand at various times, always seeking us out, providing insight, support and understanding, as well as welcoming Negronis! Once again we greatly enjoyed our stay at the Kata Thani. A relaxing setting, comfortable rooms, wonderful pool areas and the most fantastic Thai people to look after us. We will be here again next year.
