We had a great vacation. You can find quiet areas on by the beach or pool to lounge or you can take advantage of the many fun activities and entertainment (shout out to the team especially Guadalupe and Scarlet)! Everything we ate was amazing, and the service was always on point (Hector was our favorite)! I was also impressed by the cleaning staff, they keep everything looking perfect all day.

Just got back from our stay at Hyatt Ziva in PV. I'd rate this stay as a poor experience. We were returning guests with a positive experience back in 2021. Making the choice to come back was easy. With that said, we won't be returning.
First, we had a below-average welcome. Reception was loud, rushed and rude. The employee that checked us in rattled off her speech and I kept having to ask her to speak up because other employees speaking amongst themselves were being incredibly loud. It was very chaotic. It seemed like this young lady was working to get a prize to move us through as quickly as possible.
Next, we were quickly rushed off to the timeshare counter. This was probably the WORST experience of the trip. When it became clear what was happening, we politely declined any invitations to breakfast, etc. We had to say 'no thanks' about five times and the employee JUST KEPT GOING. Finally, we walked off to end the conversation. It was totally unprofessional and very off putting. We came for a vacation, not an annoying sales pitch ten minutes upon arriving. To make matters worse, the following day, when we asked who we thought was the concierge a question about the spa, we were sent back to that counter for information. Instead, we got a 2nd wave of high-pressured offers for spa discounts if we attend the breakfast. Again, we had to walk off because this woman would NOT STOP.
Please take note - this is why we aren't returning. You aren't providing a service/product/experience that would tempt me to give you any more of my time or money.
As for the room, it was ok. We were initially put in a room that was nearly level with the road behind the property. The room was at the very end of the building. The road noises were so loud we know we didn't want to stay there. We requested a new room and, thankfully, were moved to another room. It was still someone noisy, but not as bad. Note - the road noises are very apparent throughout the day.
Along the same vein, there was construction activity throughout the day next to the main tower. Grinders and power tools could be heard most of the day while trying to enjoy one of the pools. It was not relaxing.
Additional gripe for several days, parts of the resort were blocked off for some kind of photo shoot. The pool we liked to use was inaccessible while shots were staged. While I could have understood this to some degree, the multi-day presence wasn't ok. We don't pay to stay at a property to then be told we aren't able to use the parts we like.
There were some positive aspects - the playa bar staff were friendly and helpful. Shout outs to Natalio and Edson. They did a great job and should be recognized for providing the type of service that customers appreciate.
The food was above average but not great. Skip Blaze for dinner.
I did have a great massage from Miguel at the Spa. Hats off to him.
Don't prebook the transportation. It's a rip off. Take a cab or uber.
Final thoughts ... Hyatt, just shut it down for a couple of days and do all the things. Finish the construction in the lobby, finish the construction by the main tower, do the paining, fix the water pipes. DO all the things. Take pictures. Do the photo shoots. Train the staff. CLEAN THE PLACE from top to bottom.
You aren't winning any favors or repeat customers by creating such a noisy, chaotic, disruptive environment. Guests are spending the precious resources (time and money) for an experience and Hyatt is NOT providing it.

This is our 5th time at the Hyatt Ziva in Puerto Vallarta. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly and enthusiastic staff. Our room was a very large and comfortable balcony room in the tower section of the hotel. There are several varieties of restaurants from Asian to Italian to a steak house. There is a coffee shop with grab and go sandwiches, pastries and a variety of coffee drinks. We are especially impressed with Christopher and Brandon who introduced us to the Playa Club. Both gentlemen were enthusiastic, efficient and energetic as they introduced us to the Playa program. Brandon was sincere and honest with his Playa presentation. There was plenty of daily activities and nightly entertainment. The spa experience was outstanding. Our pool bar service was delivered by Armondo and Maritza , wonderful friendly people. Overall, a positive experience and we will be back to see all the wonderful staff again. Sincerely, Leslie and Jay Kisch

Fantastic resort!! But hope they get rid of the cabanas or we may not be back.

I’ll start by saying that this resort is really really close to being a five. We loved our stay here. The service is truly amazing, the food was excellent and, the drinks flowed! The views are incredible, the beach is private, with soft sand and the resort layout is perfect, facing the ocean and has a small, intimate but still fun atmosphere. It’s relaxing, a nice feel and beautiful sunsets.
The issue I have is the cabanas. They need to change this. They are truly awful. They crowd the pool areas terribly, they decimate ocean views all around the main pool and reduce the amount of lounge chairs available. Everyone we spoke to thought the same. In fact if we didn’t have a swim out room and I had to use the pools with these monstrosities I’m sure i would have been closer to a 3 out of 5. It’s so unfortunate that this money grab has such a detrimental impact on the overall feel of the resort because everything else is great.
We will probably be back but only if we get a swim out room again.
Special shout out to Kayak Kevin and Super Carlos!

My wife and I wanted to write a special review for the Hyatt Ziva hotel because they did such an incredible job helping us plan our wedding there, among many other things. Although it was a little confusing and rough at first getting the wedding plans going and knowing who was doing what, but once we chatted with Alicia A., everything fell into place. She took care of all the finer wedding details (hair and makeup arrangements, cake, flowers, location, room accommodations, and more...) and she even made a few extra special things happen as well.
The entire hotel is fenced and gated with round-the-clock security. No one gets in or out without being checked, so this hotel is VERY safe. The main facility is open-air, which is very unique and quite beautiful. The pools and pool areas are impeccably clean. Everything except one elevator was in working order. The room amenities are up to date and everything worked as expected. We stayed in the Club side (south side) which is very nice and trendy. We had a rather cozy King bed with great pillows and comfy covers. Food throughout the hotel was great and there are many choices. The drinking water is very good at ALL of the restaurants - filtered and very clear. The hotel's private beach is super clean and picked up/manicured every evening. The stocked fridge in our room was a bit lacking (no liquor shooters, only beer, waters, sodas, and juices) but was customizable if you dialed 0. The grounds were so clean there was not one single piece of trash or cup or straw on the ground anywhere. Remarkable.
Above all else, the entire Hyatt Ziva hotel staff is just fabulous! EVERYONE was so gracious, helpful, and attentive to our needs. Muy amable! There truly isn't one thing we can complain about. From the room service, to the restaurant wait staff, the buffet cooks, the bellhops, the front desk who exchange currencies, to house-keeping, to the bartenders, to the groundskeepers... WE WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR LOVING YOUR JOBS AND MAKING OUR WEEK AT YOUR HYATT ZIVA SO SPECIAL. (Special thanks to Alicia A., Raphael, Cirenia, Ivan, y Christian...)
5-STARS!

A great PV experience, don’t miss it!! $5 taxi to downtown too.
A big fan of the Hyatt Ziva, this is our 4th Ziva resort we’ve stayed at & were not disappointed. A private beach meant very safe with no one coming or going except guests, a handful of approved vendors and taxis. Highly recommend for a girls’ trip, couples, and families....
A big fan of the Hyatt Ziva, this is our 4th Ziva resort we’ve stayed at & were not disappointed. A private beach meant very safe with no one coming or going except guests, a handful of approved vendors and taxis. Highly recommend for a girls’ trip, couples, and families. It has it all and is a $5 taxi ride to downtown. A MUST do!
Highly recommend the Club Tower with large rooms, oversized bathrooms, its own private top shelf lobby bar, continuous food throughout the day in the lounge. And fabulous views from their balconies. This side of the resort is quieter and geared towards adults with an adult pool right outside the tower.
Food was plentiful and very good. No one ever expects great food at an all-inclusive but we had some delicious meals…Italian, Mexican and Asian for sure. Service was mixed but overall, pleasant and willing to provide whatever you desired. Food options for meals and snacks far surpassed other resorts.
If you are a beach walker, you will be disappointed. Sandwiched between two cliffs, the beach itself is very nice with plenty of chairs (and shade). Water can be very rough but you can go in to your knees minimally. Beach service for drinks was spotty as some servers were much more diligent but the bars are close. Great fresh grab-and-go food option for lunch…seafood salads/sandwiches. Looking forward to our next ZIVA trip!

This was our second time staying at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta, and once again, it exceeded our expectations! Though our stay was only for four nights, it was a truly fantastic experience from start to finish. We booked a swim-up suite in the Club Section, and the room was absolutely amazing. The hotel even recognized us as repeat guests and celebrated our wedding anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The only downside during our stay was a recurring sewer smell in the room at night. This had been an issue during our previous visit as well, but we managed by placing a towel at the main door, and it helped to resolve the problem.
A special shout-out to Rebecca from the activities team – she was always full of energy, smiling, and made us laugh nonstop throughout our stay. She’s definitely an asset to the team and made our time even more enjoyable.
The only thing we were a bit disappointed with this time was the Club Section benefits. Normally, the better quality liquor is available throughout the resort for Club guests, but this time we learned that you could only access it in the Club Lounge due to the absence of bracelets, which was a bit of a letdown.
Despite that, we had an incredible time, and we will definitely be back again!

We stayed at the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta resort hotel in mid-March 2025. One of the best resorts we have ever stayed at! This is an all-inclusive resort hotel, so all meals and most fees are included. The food and restaurants were very good, the rooms were very clean and spacious, good night entertainment, the hotel was clean and well maintained, and the beaches beautiful. The staff customer service was exceptional, and the hotel area and beaches were very safe. What more could you ask for...?
Note: some reviewers have mentioned the sales pitch for time shares and other sales pitches. But this was not Hyatt, but other hotels at the airport pitching their hotels, some not nearly as good.

The Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful resort nested on the ocean with amazing views. The cuisine was delicious with an abundance of food choices. The rooms are clean and spacious. The service is impeccable! The employees are happy. I want to make special mention of Margarita Rodriguez, the hotel manager. During our last visit to the resort, there was an issue with our room due to the remodeling that was taking place. The nicest bellman initially handled the disaster and our safety was his utmost concern. He then contacted Ms. Rodriguez. Ms. Rodriguez attended to our problem expeditiously, courteously, and empathically. She followed through with her word on fixing the situation. She met with us several times during the remainder of our stay to insure everything was to our satisfaction. Ms. Rodriguez continues display her dependability and professionalism with continued correspondence with us. She is the main reason we are returning to the resort and with several additional couples. It goes without saying that we love the Hyatt Ziva and highly recommend vacationing there!
